Plenty of metered street parking outside the building. $4.75/hour. There's a park right across the street, which looks beautiful, so for those with kids *hint hint* When I walked in, the lobby looks beautiful, organized, and smells great. Wish I took a picture to share with you all. Bathroom was clean. Heard about the rave of Hydrafacial and saw a deal off Groupon so bought it to try. They start you off with a skin analysis using VISIA. It was nice to see areas of concern. The analysis points out spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, UV spots, brown spots, red areas and porphyrins (bacteria on face). High scores means good, low not so good. It was reassuring to know I scored high in UV and porphyrins meaning my sunscreen application has been good and my face is clean from bacteria. Victoria was my esthetician. She's very nice, informative and gentle. The session was relaxing. She paid really good attention to my blackheads. After using the equipment for extraction she did manual extraction, which I appreciate. Manual extraction was the most discomforting, but tolerable for me. Victoria was nice enough to take before and after pictures for me. My skin is sensitive so I had some red spots after the treatment but was told it'll go away in a few hours. You can see after the treatment my is more hydrated based off the diminished lines. Blackheads not as visible. Victoria will give you recommendations post treatment, for me it was adding vitamin C into my regimen. She she didn't push any sales or product onto me. Hydrafacial maintenance is every 4-6 weeks. I'm all about self care, but don't think I'll be doing it every 4-6 weeks, maybe 8 weeks :p. They do have packages so do ask about the pricing for that if you want to save in the long run. read more

The hydrafacial was fine except she irritated my cyst where I had to go to my dermatologist for a steroid shot and antibiotics. They're also overpriced. I shopped around for a hydrafacial and they're about $100 more. They're not doing anything different or extra special. I'm underwhelmed by this spa when I had high hopes. read more

I recently had a consultative appointment with Dr. Mick regarding the Morpheus 8 procedure. Unfortunately, he was half an hour late to the appointment. Despite the delay, we discussed the procedure in detail. Due to the wait, I requested that they send me a breakdown of the costs via email. A few days later, I received the cost information and proceeded to book an appointment. However, I was unaware that I needed to physically pick up the prescription for pain medication (an opioid) and couldn't simply have it called in to a pharmacy. Living in the Chicago suburbs, it was quite inconvenient to have to drive to their location in the city. When I arrived on a Saturday, they couldn't locate the prescription and suggested I return on Monday when he would be available. Despite the inconvenience, I agreed to come back. However, just 10 minutes later, they called to inform me that they had found the prescription. My husband expressed concern about the competence of the clinic, questioning whether we should proceed with them. Today, at my appointment, I had to sign a release form containing a list of things I should not do before the procedure. The staff mentioned that they usually text this information, but had "forgotten" to do so. Once again, I wasted time and took half a day off work only to be told that I couldn't undergo the procedure because I had used retinol a few days prior. Overall, I believe their office is disorganized and in need of a business manager. After reading reviews, it seems that many others have also complained about the office staff. Consequently, I have decided to pass on their services. I have found a closer alternative that has received excellent reviews on Yelp, unlike this particular location. It appears that they do not value their patients' time and have inconvenienced me several times. read more

I have been going to Elysium for skin care treatments, and facials for quite some time now. I have always had a great experience no matter who is providing my service. I told them my story about my hyperhydrosis, and they offered a solution. About 3 years ago, I started sweating profusely in my underarm area. I consulted doctors and no one to this day could tell me why. I tried adjusting diet, medication, and special t-shirts. Nothing helped. I had heard about Miradry as a permanent solution, but was a little hesitant because of the procedure. My skin care specialist at Elysium, Samantha, went in depth over what the procedure entails, and how well it works. I said agreed to it, and could not be more happy with the results. The initial anesthetic injections can be quite overwhelming, and I did have to sing Michael Jackson songs to keep my mind off of them, but it was worth every second. The procedure itself was completely painless and I actually fell asleep at one point. The staff who performed the procedure are 100% awesome. Dr. Mick was really great at answering any questions I had about the procedure, and really helped keep me calm. (I have a weird fear of needles, even though I am covered in tattoos) Annie, the nurse practitioner was great as well, super professional. Big thanks to both of them for putting up with my singing. If you are a guy who sweats to much Miradry is a permanent solution to underarm sweat. I am so happy I sweat like a normal human now, and never have to worry about this again. No more $50 t-shirts! It takes both skill and art to do what he does and he really is a true professional who knows what he is doing. I recently moved back to Chicago from Los Angeles and was nervous about finding a new MedSpa. Elysium is close to my house so I decided to give it a try and have been really happy with service so far. I saw Dr. Mick for botox. After discussing what I wanted and my previous treatments, he decided to go a little lighter in my forehead since I was a new patient and he wanted to see the results. I appreciated this as no wants to much botox. After about a month, I wasn't happy with the results and came back in for Dr. Mick to take a look. He ended up adding in more so I could get the result I was looking for at no cost. A week has gone by since the touch up and it looks perfect. I don't often feel the need to write a review but not everyone would take the time to make sure that I was happy with the results. I've been trying to get in for a facial since June with a Groupon I purchased. They called me over four or five times within two weeks to reschedule me because of scheduling problems on their end. Same thing happened in July. I asked them to put a note in their system and to speak to a manager about how many times they've asked me to reschedule with problems on their end. In August, they called again to make me reschedule and we settled on a September date. Again, they called me last week to reschedule that September appointment. I told the front desk that it was unacceptable and I demand to speak to a manager and she should see in their notes how many times I've tried to book a facial with them only for them to cancel on me. She told me they have no notes in my file and a manager will call me before Saturday. It is now the week after and no manager ever called me. I made a yelp account for the sole reason of posting this review - BE CAREFUL GIVING THIS SPA YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. One June 15th, I purchased a package to have 6 sessions of laser hair removal in several areas. I was able to successfully complete 2 sessions before I found out my provider was no longer with the practice. They apologized for the inconvenience. A few weeks went by and I heard nothing. I reached out and they offered to add one laser hair removal session to each area free of charge for the inconvenience, fine. A few weeks went by, still nothing so I reached out once more. On august 8th, they increased their offer to me to two free sessions, in addition to my 4 that I paid for. A few weeks went by and no update. On August 31st, I reached out for an update and they told me a new provider was planning on starting within the next few weeks. By September 25th, I still hadn't heard anything regarding the new provider and I texted asked for a full refund. I sent 5 texts, 2 of which went days without getting a reply. As of today, I was refunded only a partial amount. When I called to ask why, they said it was because I used two of the services - they stated they were only going to offer two free services "for my inconvenience" if I chose to continue coming to their spa... as if this ordeal hasn't been a hassle, waste of time, effort, and money. Nobody in the right mind would have purchased just two sessions with the knowledge that 6 sessions are necessary for sufficient results. They failed to provide me what I paid for. I called last Thursday, October 26th asking for a full refund and the manager said she'd have to ask the owner who's in charge of refunds - I have not heard back since. It's been 7 days, today is November 2nd. To this day, I'm still not certain if they have a provider who can offer this service, nobody has ever tried to get me scheduled or even reconcile this. I had an Hydrafacial done there (bought it from Groupon) and saw all the good reviews here. It was suppose to be 45 minutes long, it took at the end a total of 30 minutes. She was very aggressive on my skin with the pen, she poked me more than anything else. I had the serum all over in my hair, in my mouth and my eyes. She needed to give me twice a tissue to clean my eyes. All over it was very hectic and not relaxing or recommended at all. I had Hydrafacial before and was amazed! He communicates very well with expected outcomes and makes sure you are always comfortable with those expected outcomes or in regards to pain for procedures. He's always consistent and does a great job. It's important to to have someone that listens to the exact type of look you are trying to achieve, but will also bring up points that could be of concern when you are trying to get something done to achieve a specific look. Any doctor can just do what you say you "want done" , but sometimes what you think want done is not going to yield the results you were actually looking for. I came to Elysium to try and correct the hollows under my eyes as well as address those angry wrinkles on my forehead. I saw Annie and she was wonderful from the get-go. First of all, she welcomed my sister and I with a warm smile and loving embrace. She asked about my trouble issues and what injectables I have had in the past. Annie gave insight on new products and together, her and I chose which would be best for me...Restylane VS Juvederm, Botox VS Dysport. She made each moment comfortable and relaxed, from the minute the needle touched my skin. My under eye fillers were instantly visible and my gosh, they looked so wonderful. I had very minimal bruising, and any that there was, makeup easily covered. I've been paying a monthly 'membership' fee to have 'member' prices and the last two visits that I've had to this spa have resulted in excuses as to why I was not given member prices...thus, walking out with a much higher than expected bill to be paid. The last excuse was due to my account being inactive the past three months...but, excuse me...no one has been able to use their services due to the pandemic and business being shut down, which should not result in me paying non-member prices when I am indeed a member! Had I known that I would be charged non-member prices before I booked my appointment, I would have immediately taken my business elsewhere.This gal is not a happy camper right now. Elysium has been my go to SurgiSpa for over 5 years now. I absolutely love their staff and have dealt with each individual over the years with nothing but wonderful things to say about each of them. They can answer any questions that you might have and are consistently educated on the newest treatments and options for your skin. Dr. Mick is very well versed in many different treatment modalities and makes reasonable suggestions depending on your concerns and his evaluation. He's extremely educated and personable which can be a tough combination to find. I have been seen by Tylar and Swlvia over the years and again the feel is always consistent, I am never rushed, I feel like I am in good hands and both providers are professional. Victoria has been my esthetician and has performed multiple hydrafacials on me. She does such a fantastic job and I'm always getting compliments after my facials with her. She gives great suggestions for my skin to look it's best. Allison is the practice manager and is always so patient when scheduling my appointments. She works with me and always has a smile on her face. The practice is always clean and well tended to. The location is very easy to get to with plenty of metered parking. Overall, I love this place. I had a wonderful experience at Elysium today. I got lip augmentation (juvederm ultra xc filler I believe), and Botox around crows feet and a little on my forehead. This was my first time getting any kind of filler/injection so I was pretty nervous! But Dr. Mick was great - answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. He was very gentle and made sure I was feeling fine. I had non existent lips before today, but now I have lovely full lips that still have their original shape. Light bruising on the lips but that's expected. No bruising on my face at all from Botox though. The facility itself is extremely nice and very clean; I felt like I was entering the fountain of youth when I walked in. I have been seeing Ana at Elysium for several years now. She is AMAZING. I have always taken good care of my skin, including at least monthly facials for the past 10 years (often 2-3/month). Of all the spas I've gone to, I've never had anyone customize a facial based on my skin and it's current needs. Skin needs vary dramatically from moment to moment, and as someone who is constantly traveling, Ana always knows just what I need. She has never given me the same facial twice, and unlike other spas, I do not select my facial in advance. Rather, she evaluates my skin and makes recommendations based on what I need and what I want to do at each appointment (including what's coming up in my life, recovery time, etc.). I am so impressed with her professionalism, skill and services. She is a consummate professional and continues to grow in her avocation to better serve her clients. She has great product recommendations, and will tell you as readily that you do not need a product or service as that you do. I do not trust anyone with my skin as much as I trust Ana. If you are ready to look and feel your best, Ana is the person to see. I am so disappointed in this place that words do no justice. Some of the staff is really amazing. Wendy..rose...etc. but I can not help wonder what is going on. I've had wrong treatments done..mix up of scheduling...even a terrible experience w Anna who had a melt down and scolded me for a reflex reaction when the laser hit me in the face. I've given this place hundreds of dollars worth of free product, I pay the elite membership price every month...and for what I'm getting. It's just not worth the headache, the emotional disappointment, the time spent traveling back n forth. After the mistakes in the treatment, the utter lack of respect from one of their staff members I was hoping to feel better after returning. At this point I want someone to make it up to me. I thoroughly regret giving them my membership. It's a beautiful place with lots of potential but the customer service has repeatedly left me disappointed. Update: yet again my disappointment grows as I am told I didn't pay for sessions I paid for. Apparently they have a terrible system with their notes. I've been coming to Elysium for a few years now and always have a great experience. Recently I had my lips done by Nurse Injector Annie because I wanted to fix lost volume on one side of my mouth after having face surgery following an accident where they went in through that side of my mouth. Nurse Annie was the sweetest and really interactive, asking me my thoughts and where I felt needed correcting followed by her professional guidance and opinion which I really value because she really cared about what I wanted vs. telling me what she was going to do without my input. My lips look amazing. Nurse Annie gave me the most natural look and corrected the side of my mouth I was so insecure about after my accident/surgery, making me feel myself again. She makes it light, fun and comfortable, letting you know everything that is going on during the process. I am beyond happy with my corrected lips and so glad I met Nurse Annie. 10/10 would recommend !!! She's wonderful! She knows what she's doing and you can tell she's very passionate about injectables. She feels like a friend and that's what I look for vs. someone stuffy who doesn't really care. read more

I came to Elysium last week on the recommendation of a friend. I had a Gilt coupon and had the signature facial with Anna. The place is quite nice and Anna is very sweet. When I walked in- I was asked if I could fill out form on iPad after my service because there was only one iPad ... This med spa uses great products such as Skinceuticals. Anna steamed my face. Then began the extractions. Now- I know extractions hurt because I have had other facials. This was pretty painful.... more than others. I felt ok at the end of facial and filled out the form before I left. Then came the real problem. I developed a dark brown spot at almost tip of my nose. I went back in the next day and the other esthetician was kind. She took a laser to it and gave me some special gel. I have had this spot fior 5 days. I'm hoping this goes away. It's tough to hide with cover-up and it's disgusting! In the meantime, no one has called to follow-up and I received no compensation.
