I overheard some trainers at my gym singing the praises of DVida med spa and decided to book an appointment for a diamond glow facial with dermaplaning add-on to test the waters. Booking an appointment through the online booking system was straightforward, and I appreciated that the requested forms were succinct/could be completed onsite. I arrived at the appointment a few minutes early and was able to relax in the waiting area. Olga, the aesthetic/nurse practitioner was on time for the appointment and explained the details of the services for which I had signed up. The dermaplaning ($55 as an add-on, normally $115) was done with a light touch and will allow me to get a jump start on my home dermaplaning routine, as I do have the dermaflash device. The star of the show was the diamond glow facial. I have had this procedure done before, but it has been a couple of years. I felt this treatment did an excellent job in exfoliating and, paired with manual extractions at the end, left my pores feeling cleaner than when I walked into the treatment room. Olga explained that not all of my goals (reducing hyperpigmentation, boosting glow) could be achieved through a facial, and explained some other procedures that I might consider. Having this information in mind will allow me to make an educated choice, from among the multiple options that are available. I will gather more information and anticipate booking future appointments for these more intensive services. The front desk staff are pleasant and even gave me change when I wanted to leave a cash gratuity. I've received invitations/follow up texts from Dvida inviting me to review my experience. I wanted to provide my updated experience. I did monthly hydrafacials and occasional Bright and Brilliance laser. Unfortunately, I had to move to California and my skin is CALLING for Luda to fix me up again. Luda is AMAZING and really understands skin. Not only that she is so friendly and such a warm person to be around so I feel very comfortable doing facials with her. She took me from acne ridden and dry to glowing and clear! I love and miss her work everyday I'm gone and I highly recommend anyone looking for a proper facial to go to Luda. came in and had Botox with NP Sylwia! So sweet and so knowledgeable on what to do. They act very caring...that is until they harm you....they disappear. I had a violent reaction to a Dysport injection. (never had Dysport before). Severe redness, breakout, pain & itching. I called & left email for Headquarters in North Carolina...never heard back. After going to Urgent Care facility. Now a Dermatologist is treating me with Benadryl (3 times/day), prescription Hydrocortisone & prescription for Gabapentin for throbbing night pain. Advil during the day. read more

I purchased a Groupon to give IPL a try. When I showed up they said I'd need 4 treatments minimum to see the results we talked about. Ok no problem. When I returned with a second Groupon, at the time of my appointment instead of weeks before when I scheduled it, they said Groupons are for first time only. Totally not how they should be doing business- why would I purchase a multi pack of such an intense treatment without trying it? I left work early to come in and was just turned away. It's a shame because I would have referred people had I gotten my issue solved. A call beforehand would have been an easy courtesy. I was also locked in the vestibule for several minutes with nobody answering the doorbell. Overall not as well organized as other Medspas I've been to. read more

Leaving a terrible review for this place because I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service. I came here for a full face and neck laser with one of the technicians and to begin with; they never told me I had to shave my entire face before the laser. I went 4 sessions without doing anything, and I was never explained pre or post care regarding laser treatment. The laser treatment was rushed the first 4 times and was not worth 175 per session when the suburbs charge half the price for a better service. the first 2 times they forgot to laser my neck as well. The cherry on top they told me I had another service left and then charged me for a full face and neck even though they said I had one left in the package and I confirmed 3 times with them. Always loved the place but saw a "dermatologist" who did not know what she was doing and was extremely pushy. I thought she was actually a doctor so I trusted her and proceeded inspite of her off-putting personality. Ended up majorly messing my skin up and apparently I later learned when I sought treatment elsewhere that she has a really bad reputation in the industry and I'm not the first! As the entire experience seemed so unusual, especially how she kept referring to herself as a "doctor" and " dermatologist" like REPEATEDLY, I looked her up on abderm.com site to see if she is indeed certified and she isn't!!!! Avoid this place!! I had a facial with Luda almost three months ago and my skin has never been the same. During the facial Luda used an extraction tool and was very rough on my skin. Although the extractions were painful I trusted she was the professional and knew what she was doing. Boy was I wrong! Due to the trauma my skin broke out afterwards in places I never breakout. I now have several hyperpigmentation marks on my cheek and it's been months. Unfortunately I no longer feel confident going out without makeup and it's taken a toll on my confidence. I have been frequenting this spa ever since September 2021. I had a range of services done like lash perms, a hydrafacial, brazilian laser hair removal, and now PRP under eye injections. I am very pleased with every service I have had to date. I am 2 sessions away from completing my brazilian laser hair removal package(6) and I am almost hairless down there. Staff member who did this service: Veronica Aesthetician/LHR specialist As for the PRP under eye injections, I only had 1 session done on Feb 1 and will wait to see the results in about 30 days. I have minimal bruising and more so swelling because they use a needle blanks (minimizes bruising). This process was fairly easy. I mean you just lay down,have numbing cream applied to the undereye area, get your blood drawn, wait for the centrifuge machine to finish, and then get injected with your PRP. It's not the most comfortable service but what did you expect. I would compare the level of discomfort to a mild burny feeling as the PRP is injected. Staff member who did this service: Olga RN Aesthetic Injector/ Esthetician All staff members are super patient, kind, informative. I have never felt rushed or unwanted at this establishment. I got BBL photo facial done at Dvida Med Spa 2 weeks ago. We were treating dark spots on my forehead. The became even more brown after the treatment but my technician Luisa said that is is completely normal and that it will shed off by it self after few days and indeed it did. My skin feels tighter and looks brighter now. I love my results and looking forward to my next treatment with Luisa for a diamond glow facial. What an amazing phenomenal experience! This morning I decided to treat myself after having a baby to get some Botox to help me look more awake. I found this place on Yelp and loved how close it is to my work. I used the online booker and was so easily able to book a lunch appointment with NP Sylwia the same day. They even called to confirm the appointment and accepted the Yelp coupon, score! Sylwia is definitely an expert in her craft. She asks questions to make sure you get the exact results you want, sets the right expectations, and is just overall really sweet and friendly. After my appointment, I got a pretty big headrush (big fear of needles) and felt like I might actually pass out in her chair. She knew exactly how to handle this situation, ran to get me water, and helped me get blood back into my head to get me feeling better in no time. I've been seeing Veronica for laser hair removal for the past 9 months and have seen around a 90% decrease in hair. Everyone here is great and the process has been smooth and easy. I was nervous to do laser because of my sensitive skin and skin tone, but I've had no issues at all, especially because of the type laser that they use here. Veronica is efficient and detailed, so between her and the laser I'm not surprised I've seen great results. I started paying $75 per session for underarms and $150 for Brazilian, but they raised their rates this year to $100 and $175. They also just started a rewards program that seems to have a lot of great incentives and gifts. Highly recommend. read more

I had a groupon for a chemical peel here. Overall, the experience was wonderful. A chemical peel, mind you, isn't your typical hour-long facial with all the pampering, neck massage, etc. It's a treatment with a purpose. The purpose being to revive dull skin from a long, horrendous winter. I left looking super dewy, glowy and fresh. I saw Olga who did a fantastic job. She was skillful, knowledgeable, as well as very sweet. I appreciated the advice she gave regarding other treatments I could do which will help improve and maintain the health of my skin. I'd definitely return for future treatments and would consider a monthly membership of some kind--they have several to choose from. For instance, the silver membership, which is the cheapest one at $48.00/mo., gives you several treatments to choose from if you want to come in on a monthly basis. So, the five stars is for the treatment I had with Olga--which is the most important part, of course. If I were rating purely based on decor and ambiance I'd lower it to four stars. It's perfectly nice and clean but seems like they could take things up a notch. It's small and in the basement of a salon. Maybe if they had some big mirrors here and there along with some good lighting? Maybe some essential oils diffusing? My first 2 rf microneedling sessions with Olga went well. The 3rd one was not Ok. I had an end of day appt. They did not thoroughly wash off the numbing cream and I had an allergic reaction - face swelled and turned red. I also felt physically unwell the rest of the day. Benadryl helped me get thru that. The appt was so rushed and she was sliding the needles across my face while they were still in my skin. I had circular track mark tears on my skin. I was so excited to try a fancy new place when I arrived, and then... I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, as requested. I was checked in at the front desk and hoped to pass the time getting my questions on some of their other offerings answered, but the two girls behind the front desk were more into their own convo. No prob. Unfortunately, my appointment started 20 minutes late. At no point did I receive an apology or an update. I just sat there and was ignored. My eyebrow wax was fine. She was meticulous and it took longer than usual, but I was happy with the results. For lashes, Oksana is the absolute BEST. When I first started getting lash extensions, I saw someone else and they were fine. Once I started going to Oksana, I immediately saw a difference and was much happier with my lashes. They look long and thick, without looking overly fake. They usually still look good even at the 3-week mark and I'm hard on my lashes (lots of outdoor activities, work outs, etc.). I purchased a Groupon for 3 LaserGenesis treatments back in 2015, and I had every intention of using them before my wife gave birth to our son and life got crazy. Of course, life got in the way. 2 years later, I just had my last treatment. Most companies would've told me that the Groupon had expired, but DVida's excellent customer service allowed for some leniency. Not only did it take me forever to use all sessions, but I also had a few last minute cancellations due to my toddler being sick. Again, they were so gracious and forgiving in these instances. But what's more, the treatments are magical! Each time, key problems in my skin--redness, texture, etc.--are dramatically reduced. I always leave feeling better about my skin than I have in a very long time. This little gem is a bit hidden, below a salon on Wells, but it is absolutely worth seeking out. The pricing is some of the best in the city, and the service is wonderful. I even got a complimentary IPL treatment for my last session! I will definitely be back for more laser pampering. read more

I had my first appointment at DVida Spa yesterday, and I'm very excited to go back! I apologize for the long review, but I read pretty much every one here before booking so I'm doing this for the other Type A girl like me who is reading now. I scheduled an appointment because my wedding is about five months away now, and I wanted to figure out a skin regimen. I didn't really know what I was looking for and don't really do anything for my skin right now - I wanted to look my best for my wedding! My appointment started out with a consultation by Olga. She is incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. What I really appreciated was how she challenged me to actually reflect on what I want to change about my skin. I kept saying, "I don't know, whatever you recommend!" and she very astutely told me that it doesn't matter what she or anyone else sees in my skin - what matters is what I notice when I look in the mirror. I realized that my main problem is the color of my face from redness and other marks. Afterwards, Olga examined my skin and told me what she sees clinically. Word to the wise - you really never know the true state of your skin until you're under that bright clean light! Wow! Didn't realize there was so much I'd like to fix - especially because I didn't realize it was possible to fix certain things. Olga talked me through various options and I learned a lot about my skin. Olga recommended starting with IPL to treat my broken capillaries and veins, acne scars, and chicken pox scars. She even took out her own "before" photos to show me how IPL has helped her! I am going to start with IPL treatments with someone else at DVida - when I asked why the IPL would not be with Olga, she said, "I don't want to do a great job for you when I know someone else could do an excellent job." I love that. After IPL, Olga will check my skin again and we will consider micro-needling. Right before my wedding, Olga said there are several treatments that will have me looking fresh and clean the day of - such as dermaplaning and other hydrating facials! I still wanted to get a treatment then, so I got a hydrafacial and it was great. I am SO excited to go back! Olga told me about the membership options - without being pushy - and I ended up signing up for a six month membership because it will save me a lot of money while I'm getting all of these treatments. The membership is a set fee each month, which covers a variety of treatments that you can get once a month. And then with the membership, any additional treatment in the month is 20% off. Before I left, Olga gave me several samples and recommendations to start treating my skin, which is tricky because it is dry AND has acne. I loved that she gave me samples instead of pushing me to buy the product. As I was scheduling my next appointment, I asked if there was anything they offer for men because my fiance is self conscious about his back acne. Olga immediately went off to find me a sample product for my fiance, and the woman scheduling my appointment booked a back facial for my fiance during my next appointment and told me he could receive my 20% off :) Basically, I loved the service. The spa itself is smaller than I thought it would be, I did find it a little weird that I laid on a comfy bed during my facial instead of being put in the covers or anything, but I am PUMPED to start treating my skin right! I was a bit embarrassed to have technician look at the parts of my body that I wasn't happy with, but Olga is a true professional. She put me at ease and I didn't feel judged at all. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I first discovered this place through groupon, as it had so many wonderful reviews and I was looking for somewhere to get a more reasonably-priced IPL. While they didn't offer IPL through groupon, I saw that they had a monthly membership which included IPL for $165/month (which I currently subscribe to). I must admit I was first a little hesitant to get clear and brilliant from Diana - as my first C&B was from a "top" doctor on michigan ave (for a whopping $600/treatment) and it wasn't too great of an experience. The results were good enough to try again, but it had been painful and expensive. What a difference here. Diana is so knowledgeable and so kind. I was fully numbed up before the procedure (unlike the other office) and she was so thorough. I had amazing results and I can't wait to do it again. My second treatment was with Diana for an IPL. Once again, amazing experience. Very thorough (unlike other places I have been in Chicago). I have also gotten botox from Tina who is very knowledgable, experienced, and kind. She even mentioned how botox could help my asymmetrical lip shape and was able to fix it. No one had ever mentioned that before. For a medical establishments, quality is based upon expertise, a provider's education/thirst for learning/active advancement in the field, and bedside manner. Diana is the perfect embodiment of these ideals, and as a medical professional myself I am so happy to have met her and will continue to trust her as I go forward in my own atheistic journey.
