She politely explained what each step was meant to do to my skin and the studio itself felt very clean and modern. My problem came after the appointment. The owner came out to sell me her "Acne Boot Camp" program and skincare line, which I declined because it was out of my budget and I explained that I already had products prescribed to me by my dermatologist. Upon eyeing my face (which was covered in hormonal acne at the time) she judgmentally said, "Well, clearly it's not working." I never went back. And, since following my dermatologist's advice, my skin has cleared up a LOT. I use tretinoin which is a very common treatment for acne but one of its side effects is skin purging; which to her looked like "clearly not working." I know this review is quite late, but I just remember leaving the appointment so embarrassed and frustrated. Acne is a sensitive topic for a lot of people--which is why I treated myself to a facial! I know it's not easy to run a business, but there is no justification for such behavior. And you won't be able to find me in your database under this name. My appointment was on (1/31/2024). Best of luck with everything, you have talented staff and I hope my experience was just a one-off issue.

But maybe two weeks later, I did have go back for corrections. I got one joker brow and a fold on one part of my forehead again. I was advised that my face and brows are uneven - which I know they are, haha. But, I think that it might be more about how they do injections because I've had excellent results with a doctor's office in DC (where the nurse made smaller injections and more distributed along my forehead as opposed to injecting more Botox in a few spots. Or perhaps they don't have as much experience with East Asian faces. The team are super nice there, and if there are any undesirable results, they invite you back to make the corrections.

While it wasn't ideal, I understood that technical issues can happen and agreed to wait. Unfortunately, the 25-minute delay turned into a full hour. What made the experience even more frustrating was that, while I was still waiting, the next client for a Hydrafacial had already arrived. When I was finally taken back, the treatment felt rushed because another customer was waiting. The Signature Hydrafacial is advertised as a 45-minute treatment, but mine lasted only about 30 minutes. After waiting an hour past my appointment time, I expected to receive the full service I had booked--not a shortened version. I paid for a 45-minute treatment but did not receive one. I understand that unexpected issues happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. I would have appreciated honest communication, the full treatment, or some effort to make up for the inconvenience. Instead, I left feeling like my time didn't matter. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend Pure Medical Spa.

The only reason I removed a star is because I had to wait a while for both of my appointments with them which isn't uncommon at medical providers but is still a frustration for patients/customers who might be operating on a tight timeline. The location is very convenient for anyone living in the neighborhood. The office was very clean. IMPORTANT: this is a note I'm sharing on every review I leave for medical providers regardless of my experience with them, as a PSA for others - it is NOT a reflection on the provider: ALWAYS confirm how a medical provider will 'code' a visit/procedure/service and understand how that relates to your insurance coverage BEFORE you schedule the visit/procedure/service. For example: will a preventative screening with a dermatologist be 'coded' in a way that'll compromise my insurance from covering a future preventative annual wellness check with my primary in the same calendar year? This is an extra step that can consume time but it is worth it.
