I've been coming to this salon for a while, and never paid for removal, but my last visit was frustrating. The price went up $45 to $50 plus extra $15 for gel removal, which I wasn't told about ahead of time. Also, the gel remover felt really harsh and painful on my nails. The tech had to reapply it several times, and it took over an hour just to remove the polish. That's never happened before, so I'm wondering if something changed -- maybe new techs or a different product or new ownership? That said, I do like how my nail color turned out in the end. I had a dazzle dry pedicure done here. The salon is clean and well- decorated. The salonists are efficient and thorough-- reminds me of the old school salons I've been to in southern california. No fuss! A normal pedicure is 40 , it was 10 extra for the dazzle dry. They use a plastic cover for the foot tub. Everything was sterilized and clean. This is exactly what I look for in a nail salon. No unnecessary extra costs for a "luxury" experience and no pressure for add-ons. read more

Where to start? My mani/pedi by Julie was so mediocre and looks like crap. My hands are all cut up and bleeding (the manager used an dremmel to take of my no chip polish and she cut SIX of my fingers because she couldn't control the tool. They were all bleeding and she just said she'd put antiseptic on it, no apologies and she didn't offer a discount). The sanitation was awful, so I'm going to have to go clean my hands with alcohol. Julie used the same gloves on my feet and then didn't change when she went to do my hands. I had to ask her to get fresh gloves. She coughed on the tools multiple times and kept going, I really hope I don't get an infection! She did a terrible job on my (already bleeding) cuticles, and they seem to try and use the mostttt minimal products possible. I didn't get my money's worth at all. $100 for a no chip mani and pedi was way too much for what I DIDN'T get. Yet it somehow took 2 hours, ‍. This place is cute and new, but the services are awful, painful, and unsanitary. And no massage chairs! I regret coming here. Go literally anywhere else. read more

This place is fantastic! I came here early on a Friday with no reservation and was easily seen. The ambiance is chill, the music that plays on the tv was trendy and upbeat which was great! I had a mani and pedi done at a reasonable price. I'm writing this review almost three weeks later and my pedicure still looks pretty much perfect and my gel mani is just now under consideration for removal. The receptionist was helpful. I didn't feel pressured to pick a nail color. They responded and scheduled me very promptly on Facebook. And they have freaking white wine available. Now all they need is straws. Only issue I had was that the manicurist left and didn't tell me if she was coming back or not so I waited around for 10 minutes. Since I've been to Chamin a few (about 5) I've stopped going. I had a terrible experience with a receptionist. I had a family emergency and called to cancel an appointment. I wasn't asked why or if I wanted to reschedule and was simply told I'd be charged 40% of my service due to the cancellation. I didn't remember signing this notice and made light of it and was told that in fact my card was on file. The conversation just kept getting worse. I asked for a call back from the manager and reached out to the main Yelp contact and no one contacted me, nor charged me (thankfully). Service - we were greeted when we walked in by a nice man at the front desk. My nail technician was quiet but friendly. Quality - She was quick but did a good job on my no-chip manicure and regular pedicure. Ambiance - It has a spa like feel with the wood accents and comfy pillows on the chairs. There was even a candle burning in the bathroom that smelled wonderful. Polish Options - I was looking for a particular grey/purple for my nails and she helped me find not the exact color but something similar enough! The prices were standard, $35 for the no chip and $30 for the pedicure. I was hoping for a slight discount since we did the no-chip manicure and pedicure package but it was still $65. I got my nails done by Daya (please correct me if this is the wrong name/spelling, I heard her through a mask!) and she was so sweet and amazingly talented. She also was very accommodating when i wanted to switch my nail polish selection last second, lol. The salon itself was really clean and they did a wonderful job of taking extra precautions in between customers. They made sure to sanitize the booths and pillows as well as keep customers at stations that were further apart. They also had us fill out a questionnaire to make sure we weren't ill and had not come into contact with sick people before our appointment. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I DO NOT understand the high review rating for Chamin. Here's a list of everything that was missing: 1. The salon looks like an office thats been quickly re-purporsed with odds and ends furniture 2. No offer of a beverage before or during the service 3. No steadying hand offered during getting in/out of the awkward pedicure change. No offer to carry my pure/shoes to the pedicure station (my nails were still wet), no testing the color on one finger to be sure the color looked good on my skin. So! I was looking for a new nail salon since my experience at my previous wasn't so great. I called this salon and fortunately, they were able to get me in for a gel mani & regular pedi the same day. Based on the pictures and price, I thought it'd be a good choice. Well, I wasn't necessarily wrong, but I wasn't necessarily right. The atmosphere was clean (and there was constant cleaning for the duration of my appointment which was nice to see). I also didn't have to wait at all, so I appreciate the promptness. I was guided to my pedi station and honestly, I'm very displeased with the pedicure. It felt rushed and wasn't very relaxing. No hot towel (which is standard for most places) and barely a massage. The paint job is decent though. Next, I was led to the manicure station and it seemed like the manicurist (Zaya was her name, I believe) was annoyed with how much she had to move my hand, but I was positioned pretty awkwardly. Also, according to the manicurist, they don't offer any type of designs (even something simple like this design), which is what I wanted. I probably won't be visiting again. I'd recommend for people that need to get in and get out and don't desire any nail designs. read more

Well, when I got home, some of the toes were completely messed up :/ I attached some photos. I also had an event the same night, so I had to take it off and paint them myself. I know that nail polish takes 2+ hours to dry sometimes, so I'm not sure why I was not able to get the foam flip flops when I was freshly painted, especially since I saw other ladies with the foam flip flops. Two friends and I were miraculously able to make same-day appointments - two pedicures and one no-chip manicure (mine), and I am SO glad we were able to do it. I've never felt so much attention and care go into my manicure, although I don't get them that often, it's a huge treat to myself when I do. All of the staff at Chamin seemed to treat it as such, too. It was such a wonderful experience that although I don't live close by, I definitely will be back for this wide selection of colors, careful attention to detail, and really excellent manicure! I was desperately overdue for a manicure and pedicure and this place wasn't too far from my work, so I called last Friday and made an appointment. When on the phone, it was really difficult to hear anything because of the loud music in the background, but I thought nothing of it. When I arrived, the place was sleek enough. The appliances looked up to date and modern, and there were plenty of workers. I was met by a friendly man at the door and told to pick my color. I was decently impressed with the color selection and decided to do Ballet Slippers on both my hands and feet. My overall thoughts- this was an OK experience. I got the manicure Friday. By Sunday, one of my nails already chipped :/ For $65 ($75 after tip) for the whole shebang, I expect a bit better. I was also a little bummed that it was $65 as online it said $60 but again, no big deal. My real qualm was with the experience.. I have a very chaotic work life. Therefore, when I go to get my nails done, I am looking for a relaxing, soothing, cathartic experience. I want to either have a nice conversation with my manicurist or at least be able to focus on something pleasant on the TV. This place is NOT the place for that. Truly my biggest qualm was the loud, very distressing music. The music was literally blasting through the whole place, as I heard on the phone, and the music videos were playing on the only TV that all the pedicure stations and manicure stations were facing. The videos were all SO distressing for me- eyeliner streaming down faces and crying and cigarettes and drugs and fighting and pushing. Like literally I truly felt traumatized leaving there. The whole time my eyes were wide and I felt literal alarm at how loud it was. So loud that I had 0 conversation with my manicurist because there was no reasonable way we could have. At my other nail salon I go to, they have Friends playing with captions on all the screens and if I could suggest one thing to this place, it would be to play Friends rather than the loud, angsty music. I like rap and pop and folk and literally anything but something about the playlist that was on.. I literally left and called my best friend and was like dude, I have screaming anxiety after leaving this place and I feel SO not relaxed. So that, combined with the fact that my manicure has already chipped two days later and two of my toes were filed unevenly and I didn't think they spent very long on the heel buffing.. I don't know that I would come back :/ Very friendly people, but for me, very distressing environment. read more

This is probably one of my new favorite places for nails. There is a cute waiting area, cute recliner chairs for pedis, and a complimentary glass of wine (if you desire). The girls are on the quieter side, but once they do get talking, it is a very fun, pleasant conversation with them. I got a no-chip mani and pedi. According to one of the girls, they have a policy that states if your nails chip within a certain time, you can come back and get it fixed for free! I guess this is an unwritten "rule" for this nail salon, but I'd never heard of such thing at other locations before! But it's not like that matters - my no-chip didn't chip for a good two weeks which is a record compared to other places I've been to. Minus one star because we had a reservation but they decided to take in a walk-in who came after us... so we had to wait extra for one of our manis. read more
