I came in on a Friday afternoon to get a pedicure and I was happy with the service! I didn't have an appointment but they were able to help me very quickly. The salon was very clean, quiet and overall I had a very peaceful experience. The workers were very nice and the lady who did my pedicure was very detailed- probably one of the best pedicures Ive gotten! I love this place! I live basically next door. I can usually call and get them to squeeze me in for an appt if they have room. If not, they always get me in within the next day or so -- they do get booked up so best to make an appt ahead of time. I love Seho. Small confession: I'm the super neurotic type that nit-picks at the smallest inconsistency in shape & application. At other salons, I'm on high alert-quality checking to make sure my nails look perfect. At Nail 2ne1, specifically with Zaya, I can just relax because I know my nails will look perfect when I'm done, which is so nice~ More on the place, they do a great job & create a nice atmosphere. I came last week for a birthday treat myself, as I've only ever gotten my nails done in a spa once before. I wanted a simple stars/moon design, and I came in with pictures and colors in mind. I opted for the regular manicure ($15) plus nail art ($5), and made an appointment. Lin did my nails, and she shaped/groomed my nails pretty quickly; but then she started to paint the design I wanted and it was just not great. That's okay, because I knew the design was quite intricate and just by looking at their tools I knew it couldn't be done. Lin knew it wasn't great, so she asked if I wanted to do something else instead. She offered to do little star/moon plastic gems instead, which I said was fine! It was super sweet of her to start over for me since I wasn't satisfied, so good service on that part. The top coat she used was either quite old/thick or she didn't allow each layer to dry properly in between, so when she was done and I went to go dry them, BUBBLES EVERYWHERE. I didn't even realize until I left, but ALL my nails had a ton of tiny little bubbles, and the polish was quite thick so it didn't dry down for a while. I ended up going home and removing it and did my nails myself. I didn't take pictures cause it was hard to see in the light! tldr: paid $24 to end up doing my nails again myself. but Lin was sweet and it's a nice family business :') read more

Came on 01.08.18 to get a spa pedicure and No-Chip manicure before heading to my bachelorette party in a couple days. Got up extra early in the morning to finish work on time so I could look my best. Technician lady rushed from the onset. Completed a spa pedicure that has taken around 45 min normally in less than 20. She was so aggressive and fast with the manicure scissors that she cut into my right thumb area and caused it to bleed. At the end, she apologized (when I brought it up) and the front desk male/manager/in charge person refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part or say how they would address the bleeding nail situation. He asked me to pay full price. I stated that I do not believe their "lack of" service and injury to me qualified full value payment. He agreed to a lower amount, so I handed my credit card over. As I was about to sign the credit card receipt, I realized he CHARGED ME FULL PRICE...for POOR QUALITY service, a BLEEDING thumb and SMUDGED foot nail POLISH (seen once I came home). Genuinely warm staff takes great care of my nails; never ripping or scrapping off your nails, no cuticles being cut and my hands always looks and feels great. It's extremely clean and spacious so I actually feel like I'm having a very relaxing spa treatment, not hustled and sped through like some places do. They have pretty much every OPI color on the planet and a huge a range of colors to choose from. After 2 days of this manicure, I've decided it's probably one of the worst I've ever had. The second layer of polish on every finger only covers about 2/3 of the nail. It looks like my cuticles weren't even touched because she only soaked them for about 10 seconds. Walked in, excited to have a relaxing time getting pampered. I didn't have an appointment since it was 12pm, and I figured no one would be there. I was right, only one other customer was getting their nails done. The feeling I got was of annoyance that I came in and didn't have an appointment. I asked for a color change on my toes and a no-chip mani. They did a good job but definitely did not get the pampering feeling or even friendliness. I live nearby and it is convenient to have a nail salon with very reasonable prices so close to my place. They do a great job with manis and pedis- I've been happy with my nails every time. The color selection is also good. My only complaint is that you need reservations. I don't always know why they can't take a walk-in (not too busy). It seems like you have to schedule about 1-2 hours out, so it's hard to just swing in. read more

Everyone is professional (if you get it chipped in 1-2 days, they'll repair it with no questions asked), cares about hygiene (some other places don't clean their tools as diligently as this place), and friendly. Nail 2ne1 (used to be City Nails) is my go-to spot for my bi-weekly manicure. I can't even express how happy I am that the nail place in my neighborhood is a good one, because its soooo convenient. The salon is under new management, and they've really stepped up their game. At your first visit, they register your name and phone number and set you up with your own box of tools that they use each time you come in. I love this! I not necessarily a germaphobe but it does skeeve me out a little when I go to a salon where they use the same instruments over and over, even if they've been sterilized. At Nail 2ne1, I know that the instruments the technician is using have never touched another hand or foot but my own. They also give you really cute actual flip-flops (not the disposable, foam kind) to wear after your first pedicure! The color selection is good and fresh(mostly Essie and OPI), they have a current magazine collection, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and the staff is so polite and friendly. I've had several different technicians and so far they have all done a great job. Bonus: they aren't stingy with the leg/arm massages, and they even rub your shoulders while you're sitting at the drying fan! I don't think they get too much traffic, since I've never had to wait for a manicure or pedicure, even without an appointment. For my sake I hope it stays that way, but I have a feeling they are building a loyal customer base. They deserve the business for doing a great job. Two (french-manicured) Thumbs Up! read more

As yelp says "woohoo! As good as it gets!" I have been to a lot of nail places since I moved to Chicago a few months ago and this place by far beats out the competition. It is extremely clean, the staff is seriously SO nice (a major bonus compared to other downtown nail salons), and the work is METICULOUS. They spend time massaging your legs, arms, hands during the pedicure and manicure and then they give you a quick shoulder massage while your nails are drying. This is definitely my new regular spot. They also have a great deal, mani & pedi for $39 Mon - Wed. Lunchtime pampering, here I come! This place is amazing! I went for the first time last week and had the most enjoyable mani - pedi. They have a great deal, Monday - Wednesday mani - pedi for $39, which is well worth the money! From the moment you walk in they pay attention to detail. They have nice relaxing classical/jazz music playing (not a noisy tv like most places) and they offer you a free drink (water, tea or soda). They have a wide variety of colors to choose from and tons of magazines as well. The staff is very friendly, they really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable, from the water temperature to the massage chair, they keep you content. One of the best parts was after my mani - pedi while my nails were drying I got a quick 5 minute neck/shoulder massage....which was awesome! What a great way to end your mani - pedi!! BRING CASH FOR TIPS! I got a manicure here during lunch. Really nice! It's was $15 for the manicure but it comes with a hand massage and a shoulder massage while your nails are drying. Even though it was noon on a Friday I didn't have to wait at all to have my manicure, and I just walked in. They have about 100 OPI & Essie colors to pick from, I got a red Essie color in the spirit of the holiday. I've been to a thousand diff nail salons, but would honestly say that this is the best one yet. Everyone is super friendly and most of all, COMMUNICATION IS KEY. if you tell them that you are in a rush, they will work quickly. if not, they will take their time. Sometimes, I am a "picky customer" and I ask them to reshape or recolor some of my nails, and they do it without hesitation. I also love that when my nails get chipped, I can always come back for a quick fix for no extra charge! I like the environment inside too; very modern. I think the price is decent, esp because you get a free massage during the pedicure, manicure, and at the end when you're at the drying station. Not to mention the hot towels! I like the products they use- lotions and oils 4. They give you hot towels. Not every place does that and I really like hot towels for a manicure. 5. I have been to this nail salon before with no problem. However this last weekend, I was treated very differently. The lady who did my pedi was extremely rude and never once called me to come so we can start my pedi. I had to walk up to the hostess to ask if she was ready and to what she said that she was. There were only the 2 of us(me and another white lady who was helped by someone else). We never had any interaction with lady which is ok. After my pedicure,not only did she not help me out of the chair, she tossed my shoes to the side. We proceeded to the mani station where I wanted just polish. To my surprise, she wanted me to pay first which I did. However, the white customer didn't have to, she paid when her service was done meaning pedi and mani included. She was helped out if the chair after her pedi. They carried her purse, her shoes to her station. None of this was my experience. I had to ask the hostess again to get my shoes after the mini so she can help me out while I get dry. This is the worst service I have ever had. There are so many places who are struggling and opening up their business again. I will go somewhere else I raised my concern to the owner, but they said it was of the type of service I was getting: pedi and a nail polish(not full mani). I find this ridiculous. I have the same service before. I will definitely not go back and will encourage any black people who go there to demand the treatment to be fair. The whole thing made all the clients very uncomfortable. On top of that they charged me $47 I will never go back. At here is also an option to hire someone else to come to my home. I agree with everything the other reviewers have said: the staff was very friendly and attentive, the quality of work met expectations, the place was bright and clean and I also appreciated the nice touches like the choice of scented soaks for the manicure and the shoulder massage at the end. There's nothing super special about this nail salon, but it's a good option in this fairly limited neighborhood. Pros: The prices are decent, the salon is clean, and the staff is friendly. This is the biggest plus as they are WAY nicer here than the staff over at Pinky Nails on Des Plaines by Jewel. Cons: My pedi took a really long time and I am not sure the guy knew what he was doing. The polish went on so thick that it started to smudge and peel off much more quickly than a salon pedi usually does. I'll start with the positive. Upon walking into the salon, you'll notice how up to date and clean everything is, it's refreshing. Everyone greets you which is also nice. Once you sit down, a toasty neck warmer is placed around your shoulders (in the winter months) and the nail tech gets to work. They do a fantastic job cleaning, filing, and trimming. They take their time when polishing your nails (i've only had the no chip). The hand massage is wonderful and so is the complimentary neck massage. Everyone is extremely friendly and appears to go out of their way to make you feel comfortable while visiting their salon. Now, onto the negative points which, unfortunately, are biggies. I've been there 3 times in the last month all because the "no chip" starts chipping in under a week. I had a few nails of polish come off in one easy snag. It is completely unacceptable for a no chip manicure to be chipping within a few days and on multiple occassions. I'm not sure what they're doing differently here but I've been to other salons and my manicure has lasted almost a full two weeks. Further, their color selection is a bit weak and dated. It makes me sad because I really like the cleanliness of the facility and how friendly everyone is here but I cannot keep going back. Their no chip manicures chip badly and within 3-5 days after the manicure. Honestly, I would have given them one star but everyone is so nice, I felt bad only rating them with one. I will say that they were very friendly when I returned to have them fix the manicure. The first time it peeled, I went back and paid for a new one without mentioning how badly it chipped and how quickly as it could have been bad bulbs or polish. The second time, however, was when I made the phone call and alerted them of the issue. They were very accomodating and happy to fix my nails.
