I wish I could give this spot 4.5 stars! I had a great gel x manicure with Yana, she was very attentive and my nails look great. The salon is quiet and clean, and the owner had a really chill playlist going. The only reason it isn't five stars is that my cuticles aren't very clean (you can see in the pic) and we didn't have time for designs or even a dusting of glitter. I was about 20 mins late to my appointment (my bad). They still did the manicure, but there was no time for design or the pedicure I had booked. I'm in the market for a good nail salon and tried Bilancia. The salon was clean and everyone there was very friendly! I opted for a Dazzle Dry manicure. The polish selections for Dazzle Dry were pretty limited. There was only one neutral-ish color. Turns out that polish was too thick, so they used an Essie polish on me instead. I'm not sure if it was the Essie polish or the lack of waiting 5 minutes between coats, but my nails chipped within 2 days. I'm usually good with a Dazzle Dry manicure for a week. I'd definitely go back and give them another shot! The prices were very reasonable. read more

Absolutely loved it! My husband and I are enjoying a staycation this week so the nail salon was just around the corner from our place. A 3 min walk. There is 2 hr street parking so next time when I come perhaps I will find parking for my 90 minute mani-pedi service. Yanna was an absolute sweetheart. She made me feel very comfortable. So comfortable I feel asleep during the pedicure. ...and my nails look like perfection. I loved the house natural cuticle oil. This non-toxic salon is very clean. Nice art and soft uplifting music. I've been coming to this salon for years back when it was Huron Nails and owned and by Julie and Tran. They sold their business in June and I've gone twice so far with the new owners and won't be coming back. New management appears to want to cater to a very specific demographic and ignores everyone else who doesn't fit that, which is unfortunate. First visit was 1-2 weeks after the business sold. I came away with a negative experience... I had an appointment for a mani and pedi and was fobbed off on two (seemingly) new technicians while the two co owners took walk in visits. The pedi technician struggled with the white nail polish and the mani technician seemed to be doing a new mani method with no water soak for the hands. Without soaking, my cuticles were harder to push and trim and it was somewhat painful. Barely greeted coming or going by either co owners (as a fellow Asian American woman, felt weird and almost intentional). Gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back for a second appointment and it was pretty much the same experience. Barely greeted coming or going, felt like I was being condescended to by both co owners and was fobbed off on another technician, who was a bit older but obviously has experience, but it was def her first day at this salon as she was getting in when I arrived for my appointment time. She was constantly asking where things were or asking for supplies (hot towel, acetone, cuticle oil, shears, lotion etc) from the co owners. She eventually asked if they had a box with everything in it and lo and behold one of the co owners, who wasn't busy and talking in her phone for most of my appointment, finally brought out a box with supplies in it with everything she needed. Why wouldn't you bring out the supply basket instead of waiting for my technician to ask for everything piece meal?? Definitely felt intentional and took away from my experience. I speak their language so was able to follow the saga. I had ok service by my actual technicians on both visits (see pic from last / second visit... nails are chipping and cuticles are rough 4 days after service!) but attitude and service by owners really rubbed me the wrong way. TLDR: if you're an Asian American, be prepared to feel v condescended to and be fobbed off on new technicians. Vibes are way off. read more

Well...I really wanted to love this place. The guy who answered the phone was nice, we were greeted when we walked in and promptly seated for our pedicure but it went down hill from there. 1. The person doing my pedicure didnt speak to me at all. Not sure if its a language barrier or not but not even hello. 2. I asked for gel pedicure - so when they saw I gel polish on my toes they had another lady remove it will the drill/file. Now she was nice and did speak but she was ROUGH with the drill and tore my skin off my toes. It was very painful!!!! - see photos 3. Since multiple toes were now raw the alcohol burned badly 4. The person completing my pedi scrubbed my heels until they bled. 5. If you dont bring cash they up charge you about $5 bucks for credit card I will NEVER go back to this place due to my injuries. I recently had a special event, and I used it as an excuse to try acrylic nails for the first time. I spent quite a lot of time searching for nail salons that offered this service, and there are not very many in the Chicago area. I ultimately decided on Huron Nails because of its convenient location and relatively fair pricing. It was easy to make an appointment by phone. Just be aware that they are closed on Mondays! The owner started with my manicure, and his confidence put me at ease. He promised he would make my nails look good and assured me he had plenty of experience with acrylics. I showed him a picture of what I wanted (French acrylics with an almond shape and not too much white), and he and his wife, Julie, delivered! I absolutely love their work, and I might just treat myself to this look from time to time. In my rush to get to my appointment, I forgot to bring cash. I'm so glad I found this salon. I have weak nails and always had issues maintaining nails that didn't break and peel, but not anymore. One of the things that Bilancia specializes in the Russian dry manicure, which produces great results. Combine that with builder gel and no chip polish, and I get a perfect mani every time. It costs a bit more, but my manicure lasts until my nails grow out, and that's the only reason I need a new one. The staff is great; personable and efficient, and they really listen, even with the language barrier I encounter with some of them. They are wonderful people.
