It took me a year to find a nail place that offers great service, amazing quality, and reasonable pricing. A friend recommended I see Dina at Old Town Nails and I wish I saw her sooner! Every other place I went to in the city before Dina lacked the quality and service old town has. My nails would also constantly break and chip soon after getting them done at other salons. This is not the case with Dina! She is efficient and doesn't skimp on quality. I'll come in with an idea of what I want on my nails and she takes the lead from there. Dina is the only one that is allowed to touch my nails!! I always get dip. Below are my most recent nails-- ombre dip for my wedding and a glazed brown for my birthday/fall. Thank you Dina for making my nails look amazing always and for taking good care of them so they don't break! Somehow my nails feel even stronger and healthier? The first time I went to see Dina she told me she'll make my nails healthy again and she meant it. If you want the best nail tech in the city go see Dina! read more

I started going to Old Town Nails a few months ago and now it's the only spot I go! Chau is so sweet and makes everyone feel very welcome and comfortable in her salon. I had a decent experience. I would say the Salon can be a hit or miss, last time I went, I went to someone who really thinned out my nails, and I had to wait a while to let them regrow and get thicker again. Before that, I had a great experience and a really lovely pedicure with a different person at this nail salon. I will also say sometimes they can be kind of loud in that the nail techs will speak to each other in loud conversations as they're doing nails. Some people may not care about this, but I look for a more peaceful vibe when I go into a nail salon. Overall, it was a fine experience, and they have good pricing, and I would go here if I was in a pinch. read more

I've been a customer for over two years and I love coming back every time. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, and the quality is unmatched. My nail polish lasts at least 5-6 weeks, which is amazing. It's hands down the best nail salon I've been to! read more

Chau is the best nail tech I've ever had! She is so diligent and really takes the time to make sure your nails are clean and perfect. I have been coming to old town nails for a long time and the salon is always very clean. I have loved every manicure and pedicure I've gotten there and would definitely recommend! read more

I have been going to Old Town Nails for many years now. I love Elen she is my go-to! I have been to other technicians as well and have always been pleased with the result. Chau is the best! I always leave there with the best result. Elen always pays attention to detail while being efficient at the same time. I would recommend this salon to anyone!!! The best customer service and they always remember me when I come back which makes me feel good as a customer. read more

The atmosphere was comfortable with good chatter, it was busy but I didn't have to wait after calling in the same day for an appointment. The lady I had did a great job cleaning up my cuticles that are always a mess, better than some other manicures I've gotten lately. However, I went in with long nails and before I noticed she had cut mine all down shorter than I've ever had them since I was a child. It was frustrating because I made sure they were long and healthy before going to get my manicure before a girl's weekend and ended up with embarrassing stubby nails. I couldn't even do my job (which requires using my hands to do precision work) because of how short they were that I could not grab onto small decorative details. I wish this was not the case because I otherwise like the place but will not go back to risk them being cut down that short again without my consent. read more

This salon is the best in the city! They can accommodate any request: natural, gel, acrylic, dip, etc. It's also very easy to get a mani-pedi at the same time if time is an issue. Very easy to get in, either with an appointment or as a walk-in. Highly recommend! read more

My real nails look so good that they seem fake (this is a good thing so don't @ me) I've never gotten an ombré design, and have only gotten dip a handful of times. However, this experience might change the way I view getting my nails done. They are STUNNING. $55 if you pay cash, or a ~3% or so credit card processing fee + Venmo tip. Based off these Yelp reviews, I called and requested Dina. She was gentle with my nails and the end result speaks for itself. Would recommend! I'm not a fan of the drill, so sometimes it felt hot or sensitive for my nails, but if you're used to that, have at it! read more

This place has good reviews on Yelp but the person who did my nails lacked in attention to details. My nails were over coated, which I had to call her out on at the end and she had to fix because my nail bed looked uneven. I am leaving three stars because it did last me a for full three weeks. read more

Exceptional service at an exceptional speed! Removal of gel and a gel coating done in 45 minutes!! This was my second visit to Old Town nails, I went in today (Saturday at 11:45). It was extremely busy so I recommend a reservation on Saturday's!! I just messaged them on Yelp and they responded in minutes. I got a gel manicure, the technician was extremely quick and thorough! They have an insane amount of dip and gel colors, and good colors too! Sometimes salons have loads of colors but they're like not cute- not here! The technicians were super friendly and sweet, I have found my new nail salon!! read more

Went here for the first time to get a dip manicure (which I've never had before) and it was a great experience. I was very excited to try this place after the reviews but I left a little disappointed! Just a regular gel manicure (no design) took 1.5 hours. For a manicure to take that long, I'd expect perfection, but my shaping isn't even and the polish is uneven near my cuticles. There was also polish left on my skin around the nails. Also FYI this place is cash only!!! Super important for newbies to know! Credit Card is a $4 fee! read more

First Time Review: This is my first time getting my nails done and I was very nervous. Luckily, Dina my nailtech was very understanding and she always asked if I was in pain or did this hurt. She was very careful with every stroke and she was very detailed with every line. The place is clean and they have a new tools for every customer. I will be coming back for my refills. Pro tip: weekends are VERY busy, try the weekdays. Also, you should probably call before hand. PS: Just Bc they speak Viet doesn't mean they are talking shit about you. ‍ read more

While visiting a girlfriend in Chicago recently, we decided to pamper ourselves and head to her favorite nail salon, Old Town Nails. Despite not having an appointment, we were able to quickly be seen as walk-ins. We chose our colors and headed over to our manicure station as they were ready. With the pandemic in full swing, they did a great job of wiping everything down between customers, and each station had plexiglass shields in place to further promote safety and social distancing. I chose a traditional manicure (meaning not the long-lasting polish and not the gel manicure), and the technician who did my nails applied it meticulously -- it was perfect! It dried surprisingly quickly, but I still babied my hands for a few hours to make sure it stayed perfect. And perfect it stayed, actually for a number of days! As someone who frequently washes their hands and who can't have chipped nail polish at work (honest, it's policy!), I was pleased to see my manicure last me through the week. If you need some pampering that will look perfect and last you longer than your usual manicure, make Old Town your first and last stop for those perfectly polished nails! read more

COVID update! Chau and the whole Old Town Nails crew has been great during COVID. The shop is immaculate, and there is adequate social distancing between stations. They are constantly sanitizing, sweeping, mopping... you name it. I love getting manicures with Dina! She's always down to try something new and is a total perfectionist. What better time to experiment with nails and designs than during quarantine? Dina is always enthusiastic to see me, kind, and caring. I've attached some recent manicures she's done for me. Fortunately, there are plenty of other nail salons in and around Old Town, because I will not go back to Old Town Nails. In short they: overbooked, provided a terrible environment with bad customer service, and my manicure is terrible. I waited over 45 minutes before I was ever even seated for my pedicure when the employee had ASKED me to come in early when I called and made my appointment. Once seated I was just left hanging out in the pedicure chair for an additional 15 minutes. In total 35 minutes over my originally scheduled appointment. I get that the wait time isn't always an exact science and if it had ended there, I probably wouldn't have written a review, but a nail appointment should be relaxing - that's part of the reason I go and what I pay money for. However, while I was getting my manicure the woman who I spoke with on the phone came up to me and said it is what I should expect....I stated that I understand if I were a walk in, but I had an appointment and she'd specifically asked me to come in early. She said yes she had, and then proceeded to talk at me in the middle of my service. What could be less ideal? To add insult to injury, my manicure looked nothing like the simple, slightly thinner than usual, French manicure I had asked for. Overall, very poorly done. I'd recommend not wasting your time or money. While I'd had past, better, experiences at Old Town Nails, I wouldn't risk personally repeating that or having anyone I know have it happen to them. read more

OTN knows what they are doing. I don't know how, but every time I go, my manicure lasts for WEEKS! If only they could invent a nail polish to grow with your nails but seriously, no chip means no chip. This manicure is going on 3 weeks and has not had a single chip. While you need an appointment and might have to wait, it's well worth it for the quality and guarantee you have. And in the off chance it does chip within a week, they'll fix it for free. read more

I've been coming to Old Town Nails since I moved to Chicago nearly seven years ago. I've seen many different manicurists and I can confidently say I've never had a bad manicure. They are very personable with their clients and each time I'm in they ask about me and how my baby is doing. They have many regulars which truly speaks to the quality of their service. Most recently Dina did a dip ombré manicure for my wedding, which turned out beautifully! I received many compliments and the nails held up perfectly even with a full travel day and two flights to the destination wedding. Thank you ladies for always doing such an excellent job! read more

I made an appt to get my acrylic nails removed and a simple manicure after at 6:15 PM on a Wednesday night. I normally walk in to nail salons, but can appreciate that Chicago is a busy city and locations to do acrylic are limited. However, I soaked my nails for 35 mins before I was even see by a manicurist. This forced me to be thirty minutes late to my class at second city. I understand if a location is busy, but then don't accept appointments or make the appointments a better priority. I wasn't anticipating this appointment to take an hour and 15 mins. And to top it all off, one of my nails is already broken from nothing I've done after only 2 days later. read more

I recently started coming to Old Town Nails after moving to the neighborhood earlier this year. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the service! I've always been a nail DIYer but will be coming here now for the near future. Jasmine did a fantastic job with my dip mani and Tiffany was so helpful recreating a simplistic nail art design from a picture I brought.
