Marlo is so sweet, her nail business is within the salon "thread away". She has one manicure table and 2 pedicure chairs. All of her service equipment were neatly arranged and hygenic. She had about 40+ no chip (gel) and 25 dip powder color options. APPTS ARE NECESSARY, since Marlo is the only tech. I previously made an appt on the style seat app but had to cancel the morning of, I was nervous about the 24 hr cancellation fee but Marlo generously canceled the appt without charging me after I contacted her (i had a legit reason for canceling!) Anyway, I rebooked and my appt was great, the no chip manicure took 54 minutes; she really took the time to perfect my nail shape and the polishing. The cost was $35 and can be charged via the style seat app so no cash necessary, you don't have to dig for your card, and you really see what you're being charged for. I'm heading to Hawaii today for vacation, am fairly new to the West Loop neighborhood, and wanted to get a pedicure last night before my trip. So I turned to Yelp and found RayBella Nails. It's close to where i live and had good reviews. Perfect, right? Well, hold my beer ladies and gentlemen. Marlo is a really nice lady. But good Lord, who uses the scrubber thingy that takes the dead skin off the bottom of your foot, on the TOP of your foot?? See photo of the damage to the top of my foot. The color selection is minimal compared to every other nail salon I've ever been to. The chair isn't a massage chair, it's a vibrating chair- but at least it was very comfortable. The water. This is like a portable water bowl, not like the bubbling professional water bowls you get at established salons. It got cold pretty easily. She said there is a heating element, and turned it on. It took forever to heat, and I mostly felt the heat on the bottom of one foot; the water never really warmed up. In short, I shall not go back. This place is so freaking amazing. I bought a Groupon to try this place out and the lady took really good care of my nails for a good 45mins. I've been to places where gel nails are done in 30mins, but Marlo actually took the time to go through every since nail and making sure they were all flawless. Regular no chip is $40 which is a freaking steal in the west loop area. I can't wait to be back for another amazing experience because she was so patient and attentive knowing I have a Groupon deal, I have faith she is truly genuine. I did the no chip for my friend's wedding and had a ton of compliments on where I went. I told them if you're ever in West Loop, come here because it's so worth it for your bucks! I know I've written a review for Marlo and RayBella nails before but i just needed to update it after my last, latest amazing experience! Let me tell you, I've been getting no chip manicures, back to back, for the last 5 and 1/2 years and I got one done with Marlo almost FOUR WEEKS AGO and even up until today I am getting complimented on them!!!! No no chip manicure has EVER lasted me this long!!!! The polish was applied perfectly from end to end and Marlo helped me pick out colors that were perfect for me!! She did gorgeous ombre nails with this gorgeous light pink and white for the tips. It was so beautifully blended and I got compliments on it literally on the daily!! I just removed them today and have never been more sad to see a no-chip go! I have to book my appointments about a week in advance nowadays because she is getting popular, and rightfully so!!! Such care combined with such talent! I absolutely can not wait to see her again! She is always fun to chat with and is always so positive! All in all, i am still thoroughly impressed by her and the amazing, long lasting no-chip nails she did for me! So glad I found her! Also, she does nails out of a salon called Thread Away. All my nails are uneven, bumpy and clumpy. It took an hour and a half to do a basic dip manicure that takes 1 hour at MOST anywhere else. I appreciate raybella because I know it's a smaller salon but for that kind of money ($65) and time I wish the result would've been better. read more

Marlo is amazing and I'd highly recommend her for the no-chip manicure. This was my first time getting a gel manicure and Marlo was supportive in telling me all the steps, helping me pick out a color, and keeping me comfortable throughout. She is very thorough with cleaning the cuticle and buffing the nails and applied several coats and asked me throughout if length of nails/color was to my liking. In terms of logistics, -you have to book an appt through StyleSeat (I think you have to make a login) and appts are generally 2 weeks out. -I was a little worried that they take your credit card since I had already paid with Groupon but Marlo ensures that if you have a Groupon its super easy to pay with it. -Bring cash for tip. -Don't look for a sign with Raybella, she is located inside the Threadaway and shares the space with them. read more

I hate to do this because Marlo was really sweet, but the service just was not good. My toes are all different shapes and the polish has already chipped, not even 24 hours later. The polish must be cheap or old because I also notice there is a lot of streaking. My fingers are filled fine but the gel polish is missing from the sides of most of my nails. I'm also pretty sure my nail beds are destroyed because they sat in acetone for the entire pedicure. When she finally took the gel off it looked like my nails were mush. You can keep those things on for like 5-10 minutes MAX. 35 minutes is unacceptable and not healthy. The thing that really upset me though was the fact that she charged me $10 to remove the gel. That's ridiculous and I'm pretty sure she did it because I came in with a Groupon. She didn't even tell me before the manicure that it would be additional and just expected me to pay it. Had I known it would have been $10 extra I wouldn't have gone there. A regular gel manicure is $35 so with the $10 extra that would be a $45 manicure which is way too high for the level of service received. read more

I paid $80 for my hand and toes. This is what the result was. The nail stylist called me and yelled at me today and then hung up. She accused me of being on my phone the entire time-meanwhile she was working on my hands simultaneously so I'm not sure how I could have been on my phone. She refused to give me a partial refund and stated she showed "everyone" these pictures and they found nothing wrong with the nails. I spent 2.5 hours there, and it took her an hour to get my no- chip off, while other salons only take 10-15 mins. The fact that she called me, starts to yell and raise her voice, accuses me of being on my phone, and then hangs up is the most unprofessional experience I've had.
