This was my first time going to Sparkle ($5 off for first timers c; ). It is located inside the train station. The inside is pretty spacious with manicure stations to one side, and pedicure stations at the other. It is clean and there are hundreds of colors to choose from! The reason I am only giving 4 stars is because while my friends' nails turned out spectacular, I feel like mines were just average. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating, but I guess certain nail designs are a hit or miss for them. I asked for cow prints, but my nails just look like I got random splotches of paint lol. It's okay though because I only got gel and will be getting a new set as soon as these grow out. I'd still highly recommend checking them out! Just bring good reference photos and don't be scared to speak up if the design is not up to your liking (learn from me haha). Tip: The man is the one who does all the designs. I feel like his skills are better overall (a lady did my gels), so try to book him if you can. He did so well for my friends' nails! read more

The technician cut my cuticles and one bled a lot. He apologized and offered a 20% discount, which I appreciate. However, I discovered after boarding my train that the nails were not dry, so they have already chipped and look awful. All my cuticles are red and nasty looking. Although a little on the pricy side, I do enjoy frequenting this establishment when I need to get a mani pedi on the quicks. I recommend setting an appointment online. Their staff is extremely friendly and accommodating I always feel welcome here and I love the good scrub I get when I get a pedicure. Literally cannot say enough good things about this place! I don't get my nails done often and I usually feel super uncomfortable in nail salons, but the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. I originally walked in and asked for an acrylic set, but after inspecting my nails, the nail tech suggested I get gel-x since he didn't want to damage my nails, which I thought was so thoughtful. I asked for a ridiculously complicated design with ombré, foil, rhinestones, etc. and he absolutely nailed it in under two hours! read more

I wanted to hate my nails so I could write this place off because the staff was so rude, but they do a great job. They are efficient, have a great selection, and know what they are doing. I got a basic gel manicure, waited 35 min in store without anyone saying a word to me, but the result was worth it. Another issue I have is the pricing. I found this little jewel after walking out of Madelyn Chicago nail salon because of there absurd prices, I live in Scottsdale so I'm used to high prices but anywho. I walked in and the were so polite and I wish I got her name but literally the best nail tech I've encountered in like 5 years. I absolutely loved this place and I haven't seen service like this in a very long time. I have natural nails and she was so gentle to not brake them. I seriously can't say enough great things about this place, clean, professional, friendly & 5 star experience all around. I walked into the Ogilvie Train Station today to look for a shoe shop. I happen to walk by the Sparkle Nail Salon and decided to go in to get my nails done. I had a wonderful experience with Tao and Tony. I received the dipping powder and pedicure service, and they were professional and very friendly. Go ahead and pamper yourself once in a while! When you decide to do that, stop by Sparkle Nail and get a foot detox pedicure. I stopped in on a pretty Saturday morning, they hadn't been open long, and were already quite full (a good sign in my book), but the wait really wasn't that long, maybe 15 minutes. The staff were friendly, and wonderful. I left feeling fantastic, and certainly very pampered. Will definitely be back for another detox pedicure in a few months. I've tried multiple salons in the loop, all of which are crazy expensive/don't last. This salon is not only in a convenient location but it is clean and everyone is so friendly. The service there was very good. My nails looked great when I left. Two days later, however, the color dulled from a lavender color to a weird beige. I'm not sure why this happened. The color I picked was supposed to be an OPI brand gel color. It's very disappointing because gel nail are supposed to last- that's why you pay more. Maybe this is a problem with OPI, maybe this is something weird that would only happen once. From now on, I think I'll go elsewhere to be safe. read more

That's right; holy grail nail salon. Don't take this with a grain of salt -- I rarely give 5 stars but I'm giving Sparkle 5 stars for: 1. Nice ambiance; 2. Super clean and chic facility; 3. Great polish selection; 4. Superb costumer service; and 5. Fabulous workmanship. **** LOCATION **** The salon is located in a train depot, but once you're inside, you can't miss it. For those of you who are new to the city, like me, there's off street parking just a block away. **** NICE AMBIENCE **** The salon is new and it shows. It has traditional nail stations as opposed to the newer nail bar trend but it doesn't really impact the outcome either way. The massage chairs for pedis are on one side of the salon and the nail stations are on the other. They play the latest music, which does play into the r&r that getting your nails done is supposed to do. **** SUPER CLEAN AND CHIC FACILITY **** Sterility is a BIG deal to me, especially when it comes to getting my nails done. The salon, like it's namesake, is sparkly and clean. They sterilize their instruments between customers. Although it's not the trendy nail bar setup, it is still very chic and posh. I've read reviews of other downtown nail salons that are old office buildings; this is a space intended to be a nail salon. **** GREAT POLISH SELECTION **** Having great polish selection is a hallmark of a great nail salon because that directly impacts the outcome. I'm always mixing colors to achieve a specific color but was thoroughly impressed by the wide array of polish colors that they had. For those of you who are looking, they do chrome nails, which happens to be one of the newer nail trends but still relatively difficult to find. I wanted a Christian Louboutin vampy burgundy / red sparkly polish and they nailed it. **** SUPERB CUSTOMER SERVICE **** The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. They consistently check with you throughout the service to ensure that you're satisfied, which saves you (and them) time and grief. I appreciate when I can give input so that a redo isn't necessary (who has time to come back?!?). **** FABULOUS WORKMANSHIP **** My natural nails grow out but I like to have acrylic on top because I travel frequently, which is typically rough on my nails. I like the gel on top for its no-chip and longevity. I wanted my nails to have a slight coffin tip and to date, the shape is my absolute favorite shape ever. I am a huge fan! The only place that I would say there's room for improvement is that they are a little on the gabby side, which does distract them from getting done more quickly. **** PRICE **** I noticed another reviewer mentioned price but to have a color change and an acrylic/gel combo, the price was right in line with what I've paid anywhere else, all over the country. It's not more or less than comparable salons. Ultimately, if you've been on the hunt for your go-to nail salon in the City, even though I live in Streeterville, I'm willing to make the trip to West Loop to have my nails done perfectly the way I want. I can't believe I found my holy grail on the first shot; it's a rarity but definitely nailed it (pun intended)! read more

I showed up and they told me it would be a 10 minute wait for another technician. After waiting almost a half-hour I went up to the manager and told him that a) they should have contacted me to let me know that my technician was out, and b) that I would like a discount on the manicure for having to wait nearly a half hour. This was my second time there and they do a great job on no chip and pedi! - lasted 3 weeks! However, if you pay through Groupon, its never a simple process. They seem to have trouble confirming my payment and the result is that I end up waiting 10-15 after I am all done to actually leave (defeating the purpose of using Groupon).. I'd recommend that you tell them when you get there to avoid the delay. Also- I had a lip wax scheduled and was told to go in the room but the girl who was scheduled to do my wax was asleep on the chair! She seemed groggy and annoyed that I woke her lol.... Pleasantly surprised by this place would be an understatement. Stacy and Tuan were meticulous and very talented.Tuan did my pedicure, he took extra care to shape and trim and the polish is perfect. The massage chair was one of the best I have ever used. Stacy took care to help me find the perfect color and did wonders with my stubby natural finger nails I came in with. I got a full acrylic set and they look so natural, thin., and exactly like the inspo picture I showed her.
