I am updating my review to provide clear evidence of what actually happened. In their response to…read moremy Yelp review, they claimed that I was late to my appointment, which is simply not true. They were the ones running behind due to another client, not me. At the time, they acknowledged this and offered a voucher as an apology, which is the only reason I gave them another chance and returned. When I came back, they refused to honor that voucher, saying it was "over a month old," despite never communicating any expiration date or conditions in their message. There was no mention of a deadline, required response, or any policy tied to its use. Instead of taking responsibility, they publicly called me dishonest and reduced their offer to a 15% discount. This experience shows a clear lack of accountability and professionalism. I gave them a second chance based on their own promise, and they failed to follow through. I recommend going elsewhere if you value honest communication and reliable customer service.

Almost 8 years later and I've been coming to Mid City Nails. Everyone is friendly and helpful for…read morethe most part. My go to people are Lenny, Hang and Nancy. Originally found years ago because of the quality and high rating reviews for dip. Some key things that are important to me is the smell in nail salon. When I walk in I almost forget it's a nail salon because all the chemicals do not hit me as I walk in the door. The variety of colors is a plus. The prices are reasonable as well. My happy place and always consistent. If I have an issue they never hesitate to fix. They keep it clean and always updating. My little hidden gem. My new addiction is gel x

I normally book with Inesa T., but I did not realize that my tech had been changed until I arrived…read morebecause not one reached out to me. I later learned Inesa was sick, but a quick text or call would have allowed me to reschedule. I downgraded from a Russian e-file/no-chip with strengthening to a no-chip manicure with strengthening because I felt uncomfortable have the service performed by someone I was not familiar with, yet was still charged $65 instead of an expected $55-60 price based on menu of services. How funny it was still the same price. My appointment also ran 30 minutes late because my tech was very slow. I also have hygiene concerns--the manager arrived after opening and pointed out that multiple pedicure stations were still dirty to the other nail techs please note no one had used them for clients that morning I was the only customer in the salon. I canceled all of my future appointments. I'm thankful the manager came in and loudly told the nail techs that the pedicure stations were dirty, as I had been planning to start booking multiple services at this salon.

My husband and I went in for manis, and it was his very first time. The team was so kind and welcoming, making sure he felt comfortable throughout the whole process. We were taken care of by Will and Greta, and they were both wonderful. They were friendly, attentive, and made our nails look fantastic! I'm already looking forward to coming back for a spa pedi in the future. I also really appreciated how simple it was to RSVP online. Their booking system let us choose add-ons ahead of time and even upload payment info, which meant no awkward fumbling with wallets and freshly painted nails at checkout. Their tipping system is also super smooth and thoughtful, making the entire process stress-free. Highly recommend Will, Greta, and the salon overall. I'll definitely be returning to experience more of what they have to offer!

Update: Attaching the charge and email that the manager Gigi sent right after writing this review…read moreand a week after our call (when she said she would send it the next day) since the response does not believe I actually got serviced at Saltmara. The manager is further refusing a refund and not believing my experience. I understand protecting your employees, but when they're literally forgetting gel top coats... that's a hard sell. If I could rate 0 stars I would! Literally this is the worst pedicure I've ever had - the technician was sweet, but was definitely not qualified or trained enough to be giving pedicures. I had to walk her through the pedicure process, she forgot to even put gel top coat on one entire foot, and cut all of my toes unevenly and scrubbed so hard she left micro-tears in my foot. She had these super long acrylics on too that limited her mobility and made the service take 2.5 hours! Also, the bowl didn't seem clean and while they claim to use OSEA products, they don't and actually use the cheapest products you can get from the cosmetology store. When I approached management about a refund, they mentioned that she wasn't fully "trained" and still working on her certifications and just started a week ago and they frequently do this as their business model. While that's fine in theory, it should be disclosed and at a reduced rate (I was charged $105 pre-tip). If I wanted to go to a student, I would've gone to a cosmetology school for $40. The manager said she'd get back to me and after countless calls, she never did and I had to dispute the charge on my card. Save your time and money and honestly go to ANY other place for a better experience.

Y'all, it's been REALLY hard for me to find a solid pedicure spot in Chicago…read more Was running errands on a Friday afternoon I requested off and this was in the area. I desperately needed a pedicure and noticed they have a special Monday - Wednesday (just wanted to note). The reviews seemed good enough and I was pleasantly surprised! The salon was packed and one person was waiting before me. Always a great sign imo. I walked in and waited less than 15 minutes. Didnt catch the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she was awesome! I chose the regular producer for $39 and she was very thorough. She scrubbed the callous and took her time. I didn't feel rushed at all and I also didn't feel like I was sitting too long. They also give a quick shoulder massage while you dry your nails which is a nice touch. Out the door, everything cost $46 which isn't bad for the city. I have to note how lovely she painted my nails too. She didn't overpaint - I've noticed some places have been doing three coats of color - yikes. They had about six pedicure chairs and maybe eight for manicures? I didn't get a manicure but one thing I noticed and love is that they keep the services separate. It makes it feel so much nicer. There's also a few spots to park in a private lot - super convenient. I'll definitely be giving them another shot.
