As soon as I walked in, the lady at the front had an attitude. I asked if there was a wait and she responded, "No wait, do you want to get your nails done or not?" I asked for builder gel, and after trimming down my nails, the first nail tech suddenly moved me to another worker and said, "I don't do fill-ins." The guy then started applying acrylic even though I specifically asked for builder gel. When I questioned it, they kept insisting it was builder gel until he finally admitted it was acrylic. Only then did they tell me they don't offer what I wanted because the person who does builder gel is on vacation. Lady said "go back to the other salon you went to originally" The whole situation could've been communicated from the start before cutting down my nails. I stayed respectful the entire time and left with unevenly trimmed nails and very disappointed. read more

She put the wrong chrome on one of my nails and never took it off so I have one yellow nail and the rest are blue-ish chrome. Also my nails are SO LUMPY, her acrylic technique is horrible. Stylish Nails is not Mario Tricoci, it is a classic dingy little nail shop ala NYC. During my visit the salon was packed, primarily with people getting end-of-summer pedicures. It is a cramped area and the COVID-conscious may not be comfortable. All the working techs were wearing masks, from what I saw. So, I called up very last minute on a Friday morning and begged to come in during my lunch hour. Nancy fit me in to get an acrylic fill and no chip manicure. I did not want my cuticles trimmed, and the tech respected that. Other customers suggest the techs here are too rough, but I found her to be quite gentle compared to other salons I've visited. My no chip was a slightly lighter color than I anticipated, but I didn't dislike it. I did have to ask the tech to make sure the polish reached nail edges, because I am detail oriented and know it will drive me wild if they don't. Pro, the tech was FAST! Perfect for my lunch break. I do think the salon would benefit from a face lift, a coat of paint and tasteful décor, but my services were performed properly and efficiently. The tech I had wasn't friendly, but she was certainly courteous and appropriate. Generally, compared to my usual spot it was OK, and I would return for another fill and no chip manicure. read more

I've been going to this place for years and they do a great job with nails...however, the owner (lady) is extremely rude. I paid with a gift card and cash today and was trying to understand the cash back situation (as I was supposed to receive cash back), however instead of calmly explaining it, her voice got loud and she started telling me "you are wrong! You are wrong!" To which I replied "ok, well, that was unnecessary." Whether a customer is right or wrong, it really isn't a way to treat them (me). Went on a early Sunday afternoon to get a gel aka no chip manicure. There was no wait, I was immediately helped. The ladies aren't super friendly but not curt either. She did a great job on shaping my nails and okay on my cuticles. However they use cheap gel polish and now 8 days later, 4 nails are chipping and peeling. I've gotten plenty on gel manicures and their are way better brands that last full two weeks without edges peeling up. $30 price I guess you get what you pay for. If you don't need the no-chip to last as long as other brands you can def come here for a fast mani. read more

I mean - Stylish Nails is indeed two blocks away from me and I walked by it without even seeing it for months. Until one of my friends told me she was going there one night for a mani-pedi. Shock. The difference with the aforementioned scenario is that it's not totally love because the neighbor in question is not really a cutie. And he's messy, disorganized and a tad dumpy-looking. But he knows how to do a great job. The ladies in there didn't really have the color I was in the mood for and it can be hard to find something in the back wall of little bottles but once you get past it - you are in for a nice manicure if you ever had one. I have been going to Stylish for about four years now. I call ahead for Stephanie, because I love her so. I have yet to receive a better quality mani/pedi. Ever. I recently ventured out and got a french pedi, something I never do; it's been over 10 days and it still looks fresh (and I run about 20 miles a week). Manicures last equally long, and if it wasn't for new growth I could probably go weeks without getting another mani. Eyebrows... I'm usually inclined to get mine threaded, however, if anyone is waxing my eyebrows, it's getting done at Stylish. For $7 you'd expect cookie cutter eyebrows, but they pay much attention to detail and do an amazing job. Monday-Wednesday you can get a mani/pedi for only $27... otherwise it's still only $30. I hate plucking. My eyebrows are the color of clear pepsi but they get unkempt so, I wax! I read about this place on Yelp! and stopped in today for an eyebrow job. I didn't have to wait - they have two waxing tables. I have VERY sensitive skin and usually walk around with bright red eyelids for days. However, I was only red for about an hour afterwards this time. I told the waxer prior to the procedure that I was sensitive and she put extra lotion on my eyes after the waxing. I CANNOT believe what a high rating this place has gotten. This has to be the worst mani-pedi I have ever gotten in the city of Chicago, and I have been to quite a few. When you walk in the front door, the chemical fumes smack you in the face. There is very little ventilation in there. My pedicure was awful. She cut my nails so short that I actually bled. The massage was about 2 seconds long, and there is no exfoliating or anything done to your legs. I was speechless when the lady stuck her fingers into an open, dirty looking jar of petroleum jelly and rubbed it on my heel. When it came to actually painting my nails, she rushed through it, and it ended up looking like a 15 year old girl painted my nails (which chipped the next day, btw). The manicure part was not any better. She, once again, cut my nails too short and did a horrible job painting them. This is one of those places that has some serious sanitation issues. They reuse all their instruments and simply dip them once in disinfectant. They reuse their disposable flip flops and toe separators. The place was totally packed when I was in there, and they don't hide the fact that they are obviously rushing to get to the next client. Given, it is $27 for a mani-pedi, but you definitely get what you pay for. Pay the extra $10 and go someplace more professional and sanitary. I left this place completely unsatisfied and wanting desperately to take a shower. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

This is a sh*tty nail salon...like I've been spoiled my last couple of years. I saw this place awhile ago and was in desperation mode for a no chip mani & regular pedi on a time crunch. $50 for both...yes, I said $50 for both! Can't beat the price. They have a million no chip colors and brands. Regular polish colors are pretty bare and off label sh*tty polishes. They peeled off my old no chip and not in a good way. I had to tell the girl to stop and let it soak longer. Lots of my nails were poorly filed...what do you expect for $50. No chip chipped in 3 days. Pedicure is still kind of lasting...5 days ago. I got in and out in 1.5 hrs...so it was fast and cheap...but not very good. When I was leaving there was a whole mass of people swarming in and it smelled like Bob Marley...wow. Overall, I'll honestly try to avoid this place because I'd like to have my nails last longer and pay more than this cheap ass place...but in a pinch, I might end up back here... read more

So I rarely get Mani Pedi's done but I thought why not treat myself. Well never again. At least not here. I have learned my lesson. They completely cut the skin off my big toe. Skin hanging, bleeding everywhere. All I could think of was hope everything was clean as can be. Alcohol after alcohol swaps and I'm afraid to look at it. I am laughing at all these reviews that are bashing this place. I've lived in West Town all my life, way before all this gentrified crap has been happening and Stylish Nails is great. You live in Chicago, close to downtown and these ladies are charging pennies for pedicures and nails. Don't like it? Take the 66 Chicago bus to anywhere in the Loop and pay double/triple the price of Stylish Nails for same or less quality. They are not paid enough to be your best friends and talk to you about your problems and your life while getting your treatments, they are solely working and are always more than happy to fix anything that you do not like. Anyways, my loyalty sticks with this shop. I have no idea what I am going to do if they ever *god forbid* close down. Don't come here and ask for a full set of Gels. What you will receive will be a full set of acrylics with a coat of gel polish over it that is cured in a UV light to make it shiny. This is something a lot of lower end nail places are doing, and it is not ok. This is not a testament to their mani/pedi services, but to the truthfulness of their services menu. read more

I've been going to stylish nails here and there and mainly because it's close by and quick. If I want to enjoy a more pampered mani or pedi I would go elsewhere. They do a pretty good job on pedicures and even no chips but their customer service sucks. They NEVER EVER EVER smile, especially the 2 owners and their daughter..it drives me batty. They message your legs & add this great lotion which smells so0o Good . lol . Ive never had to wait for a chair . They always get me in fast . There designs by hand aren't the best , (big CON !) and sometime they miss the edges of your nails . (con) . Had this not been recommended to me by a good friend who I trust completely, I most likely would have walked in and walked right back out. I wasn't expecting a spa experience, but I have to say... this place didn't do much to inspire my confidence. That said, it came highly recommended, so I decided to stick with it. Regardless, it's still coming out slightly ahead of a few places I've tried lately. Here's the thing... with my fingers, I'm a huge chipper of polish. I'm lucky if I get all the way home after a mani before I'm chipping polish. I don' t know what they put on my fingernails at this place, but it's Thursday, and I got my mani on Friday and I still don't have ANY chips. Not one. And it's not like I've been walking around protecting my hands. I am on a computer, oh, 8 hours a day typing like a madwoman. I've cooked. I've cleaned. Five days later, I am starting to see a little bit of wear on the edges of my nails, but that's it. And I have to really look. Hard. So yes, I was pleasantly surprised. Five days without a chip? Came here for a no-frills pedicure after seeing all the great reviews. This is absolutely my kind of place. I don't feel like paying an extra $20 bucks for "atmosphere." The ladies were all very friendly. My technician, Sue, was efficient but also did a quality job, even going back to my feet after lotioning them to touch things up. I decided to take advantage of their $27 mani/pedi deal (Monday - Wednesday only). She did a really good job on my manicure as well. Most of the customers are regulars. Everyone seems gregarious - even the owner came out to do some special nail art. I prefer nail places that are friendly instead of nail places that are haughty and charge an arm and a leg. I come here often for the quick mani/pedi as for what I pay they do a pretty decent job. Sometimes my mani goes days without a chip and sometimes it'll chip the next day but I don't really have any major complaints. I am also very particular about my eyebrows but when I'm in a pinch and need a quick waxing I have let them do it for me and haven't left angry yet. In fact, I just had them done a couple days ago and they look like I went somewhere else and spent $30 on them. read more

I went to get my nails done here yesterday & they charged me $30. I got a full set , the length is was about small - medium. They asked me what I was getting not being rude or anything. As he's finishing I noticed that some of them are crooked I was confused because I've heard "it's the best salon" but I'm my opinion it's not. I wouldn't recommend this place . I only go here to get my eyebrows waxed. For $7 they do a good job. You never know who you're gonna get, it's not like you can make an appointment, but all the ladies I've had were good. That being said, this is a quick paced nail salon, with a little wax room in the back. Don't expect them to bring you water or coffee and hang up your purse. The wax room is sorta dingy, and maybe not the cleanest. It's more of a take it or leave it place. You take what you get and you like it, or you leave. I came across this place as I was walking to Dominicks one day and decided to try it out. I had had one manicure before in my life and had never gotten a pedicure... So, because I deserved it, I treated myself to a French Pedicure. What a great experience! Not only were the women really friendly, it lasted a long time with no chipping. I went to a wedding about 2 weeks later and it still looked brand new. I have since been going often and will keep going back. I've never made an appointment and have never had to wait. PLUS they even stayed open one time when I ran in 30 minutes before closing to get a mani before a job interview. I've been to a couple other places near my office in the loop and their more expensive prices and fancier locations don't compare to the quality you find at Stylish. read more

It's no luxurious spa but they do a great job. I've been getting my nails and toes done there for 3 years!! I use to get the long acrylics and I grew out of that but Tony is the one to see if you like getting that done!! He did an excellent job with any design I could dream up. Now I just go to get my feet done and Monday-Wednesday they have a $20 pedicure deal and I always go for that. My paint always stays on for a few weeks!
