I've had so much fun trying out their different kinds of pedicures this summer. Don't make me choose a favorite because they're all divine! Recently went to get a pedicure at Luxo and was quite disappointed. My technician was cutting my cuticles and they cut too deeply to the point where it drew blood, which was obviously quite painful. Accidents happen and so I don't necessarily think that this is representative of their abilities, but she also didn't really do anything to put me at ease that it was getting disinfected for the rest of the service. I also booked one of the more elite pedicure options (NOT just a polish change to say the least), but the tech barely got any of my dead skin off which I would've expected in my very extra service option of a pedicure. What I found the most shocking was that despite making me bleed, before they went to paint my nails they came to me with a QR code to give them a 5 star Google review, which I think was quite bold to do as my toe was still red and bleeding lol. I'd imagine if you made your customer bleed you'd probably want to offer some sort of consolation rather than forcing them to submit a positive review. Based on reviews it does look like people are overall happy with their results, and again, I don't necessarily think that one accident should define the overall abilities for a tech (which is why I am not naming), but from this experience it kind of seems like some of these reviews may be getting forced during the service as that is what happened to me. Separately, I think some of their sample colors don't actually match their nail polishes - the color I chose and what ended up on my feet ended up being two different tones where I thought I'd chosen a peach pink and it came out super cool toned. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Luxo! We called and asked if they'd take two pedicure walk ins and they gladly welcomed us in. We got settled immediately and had our pedicures done within 45 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and our nail techs were attentive and detail oriented. I do not understand the good reviews even a little. The only positive attribute to this salon is that there is a parking lot. I've been here twice, and the bad service was not a one off. My parents were immigrants AND they spoke English. If most of your staff can't speak basic English, at least assign a translator!! Customers should be able to to ask about different services without playing charades. I don't know why I was assigned to a torn pedicure chair that was ripped and had the stuffing coming out. I've been coming here for a while, which is why this review is disappointing to write, because I've never had issues like this before. About four weeks ago, I got a gel manicure before flying to Europe for a wedding. I had my nails done on Sunday, flew out Wednesday, and by the wedding on Friday, every single gel nail had popped off. I reached out multiple times via the email listed on their website to see if anything could be done, but I never received a response. After returning from Europe, I decided to give them another chance and specifically requested a different nail tech. I got another gel manicure on a Sunday, flew out Monday, and by Tuesday one of my nails had already chipped. I went back to have it fixed, but now only a week later, multiple nails are chipping again. I've never had this issue with gel manicures before, especially not this quickly. Today added to my frustration. My roommate and I called ahead for pedicures and asked if they could accommodate us at 2:15. They said they could take both of us at 2:45, which worked perfectly. We arrived on time, and my roommate was helped immediately, but I waited about 20 minutes before anyone even started my pedicure. If they couldn't truly accommodate both appointments at that time, I wish they had just been upfront. I also asked on the phone if they could fix my chipped nails while I was there, and I was told that wouldn't be a problem. Once I arrived, the salon was extremely busy and that request essentially went nowhere. To be fair, the woman who did my pedicure today was wonderful and did a great job. My disappointment is really with management and the overall customer service. Between the lack of response to emails, repeated issues with manicure quality, and poor communication around scheduling, the experience has been frustrating. read more

I really hate to leave a bad review, especially since my first visit here for a pedicure was a great experience with a different technician. However, my appointment last Monday at 6:30 PM for a pedicure and Gel X manicure was disappointing. It felt like Nikki was rushing through the entire pedicure. She missed applying polish on part of my toenail, and when I pointed it out, she just painted over the existing layers instead of fixing it properly -- leaving the nail uneven. When I got home, I noticed she had still missed spots. During the Gel X manicure, she seemed distracted and in a hurry. Another staff member kept interrupting her, instructing her on how to go faster and use a heavier drill bit. They were speaking in Vietnamese, not realizing that I could understand everything being said. The process felt rushed and careless -- Nikki nicked me a few times and ran the drill too close, causing sharp pain. I asked her to add a few accent lines on four nails, and when I double-checked the image to confirm the design, she complained to the nail tech beside her that I was checking her work. The final result was sloppy -- the underside of the nails had thick excess glue and white powder. I showed another nail tech, who was finishing my friend's nails, and she had to call Nikki back to clean it up. When I got home and looked closer, I saw uneven edges, unpolished sides, and a visible bump on my right index nail where she had over-drilled and tried to fix it with extra polish instead of replacing the nail. To make matters worse, by Thursday three of the nails had already started separating from my natural nails. I'm currently out of town for conferences -- the reason I had them done in the first place -- so it's been especially inconvenient and disappointing. I now have to find a salon in Florida to remove them and hope my natural nails aren't damaged. For $170 in services, plus a $20 cash tip, this was a very poor job. I usually don't write negative reviews, but this experience fell far short of what I expected given my previous visit. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as I really wanted to make this my regular salon. read more

Typically a downside is how long of a process it takes to get mani and pedis. However they're flexible. If you like the pampering, you can have a single nail tech. However I had a mani and pedi tech working on me at the same time! The employees were all so kind, even the ones who weren't directly working with me. The manager floor walks to ensure all the clients are satisfied and all d well taken care of. He offered me free warm green tea. Smoothies and water are offered too. Luxo is a bit more expensive that I typically pay for so look at the prices beforehand. But I truly feel like I got what I paid for. A flawless mani and pedi French tip with a design on a finger. This was my first and last time going here. I was really excited to go here since my friend said they were really good. I got builder gel nails and cat eye with Sarah. She was rushing the entire time, from removing my old gel to finish it was about 40 mins. I'm all about being fast and efficient but she was rough and in a hurry and my nails definitely reflect it. She was very sloppy-my nails are bubbly, thick and uneven. There's dips when you rub over the nails. I asked for round nails and it's a mix of square and round. I arrived at 7pm to inquire if they had time to fit in a mani and pedi or I was willing to do one service if they were busy as I know they close at 8pm. He assured me they would be able to accommodate both. I then waited a half hour in waiting room and then another half hour with my feet soaking in pedicure tub before they even came over to start me. It was downhill from there. They had two staff working on each the pedicure and manicure which okay I guess if I was the one in a hurry then I understand but they made me wait an hour before starting and now rushing all my services. Frustrating as it's really uncomfortable and both workers were demanding me to do something when it would sometimes conflict with the other. Not in anyway the self care experience I was hoping for! The manicurist immediately cut two of my nails so short that I pulled away as it cut me. She then on two more occasions either filed over it or cut with cuticle cutter in that area till I left literally bleeding. I asked her nicely twice to stop going over the area she cut without her respecting that or having any regard for cutting me in the first place. The pedicurist went also fast, cut my nails off center, cut me on big toe, and did a bumpy and not great paint job. It's like they punished me for being there late but I waited an hour for them to even start then had to endure another hour for them to do both at the same time and didn't leave till 9pm. Then at check out they wanted to charge me more for the pedicure because they were out of lemon and gave me lavender? I never asked for that. Finally able to get them to charge me the normal price they should have charged. Horrible experience. Not the first time I have had Such horrible and rude service from nail techs. I really want to like this place and I have been there several times in hopes that I will because they are close by and have a lot of staff so nice to do walk ins here. However I have had way too many bad experiences at this point and left bleeding which I take the risk of infection very serious. Super disappointed but not worth the risk when there are so many other options to chose from. Don't recommend. read more

I made a last min appointment today for two pedicures and they were able to fit me and my daughter in within an hour of calling. When we got there, they brought us back and offered drinks and were so attentive. The salon is gorgeous and so clean and modern. Both Caitlin and David were fantastic and very accommodating. When asking Caitlin about some issues I was having with nail strength on my hands, she offered me some solutions and was able to fit me in for a gel builder manicure in the time we had (we had to be at another appointment at 4:30). My daughter didn't want to miss out on the fun, so they were able to squeeze her in for a Gel-X manicure and it was gorgeous. Eric was the one who jumped in and not only did he make her nails look perfect, but we were able to make it to our next appointment on time because of his skill and speed! For positive start, majority of the time the salon is always super clean and the initial service is great asking you what you want to drink when you sit down and having the pedicure baths ready. The cleaning lady definitely deserves a raise. I always see her working hard while I'm there, every single time. I've been coming here since it's opened but lately, my manicures and pedicures just have not been up to standard. The service is usually great when the two main front desk guys are in, but unfortunately during the most recent visit, the new lady with glasses (non-Asian I believe?) has a bad attitude and is rude. She just stares at you when you walk in, no greeting, no asking how you are, she makes customers feel like they don't want you to be in there. I thought it was just me, but she seemed to ignore several other people that walked in. Then I had a bad experience during my manicure and pedicure. A builder gel manicure and regular pedicure should not be done at the same time. It feels very rushed and especially when doing builder gel, you need to make sure that the cuticles don't get flooded and that the gel doesn't touch/dry on the skin. The way the male technician was doing it at the same time as a female technician doing my pedicure, the gel can easily get on my skin and irritate the skin if it doesn't cure properly. My nails were itchy and red after the appointment. I had to ask my independent nail tech to remove them. I had asked them prior if they have an allergy free gel and the technician didn't know what type of gel they have. They just said oh I used whatever the salon usually carries, haven't you been here before? I said, yes but recently, I've started having allergies and want to be careful about the type of gels. They seemed not to care and just continue done with what they were doing so I didn't ask any further questions. The mani nail technician also cut me with a nail file because they're looking around instead of looking at what they're doing. And just overall he was being rough with the filing and cutting down the cuticles. I find that often times most of the technicians I have they're always looking around rather than paying attention to the customer which can cause to mess up. Also, they don't always ask me what shape I want. They just start filing without asking any initial questions. During the pedicure, when the lady was rubbing the hot stones, she kept hitting the bones on my ankles really hard not being gentle and then when I'm looking uncomfortable they just say sorry rather than going gentler or asking a question if I want them to stop or keep going. I don't know how many times my nail technicians said sorry during my appointment when it shouldn't be painful it should be a relaxing experience. The manicures always lift within the first week also which means they're not doing it the proper way. When I go to an independent nail tech, their manicures last 4 to 5 weeks. I only typically get pedicures at Luxo, but was short on time so I just got a manicure that day as well. Disappointing the workers care more about leaving on time than providing a fantastic service. The front desk person should just tell the customers it's too late for both rather than try to make more money for a half-a service because the workers are tired and don't want to be there that late. Previous experiences: I got an ingrown toenail on my big toe at a previous pedicure that became infected because they cut it too short. An older lady with glasses cut me multiple times during a manicure appointment when filing and cutting down my cuticles. And also gave a terribly uneven manicure as well. Another time I've been here the technician didn't know the difference between gel-x and acrylics. I had asked for gel-x and they started gluing on an acrylic tip instead. I said that's not gel-X and they said oh I don't know what that is. I said that's acrylic tip you just glued on and they said I don't know what that is either. Are any of the employees trained before starting on the different types? I know he had been around for a while too. read more
