The customer service is very friendly but if you're looking for any kind of spa experience this isn't it! The girl helping me barely scrubbed my legs. She put the scrub on for one rub then barely took it off. I am leaving with scrub still on my leg. The water wasn't warm either unfortunately. The chair I was in was also broken lol! She didnt even bother pulling my leggings down. They were all very kind and the pricing was great but I wouldn't come back as it was not a professional experience. My pedicure had many errors and was not smooth. The woman helping me was young with a brown shirt and jean shorts. Do not ask for her if you want a good pedicure. read more

Enjoyed my experience here from start to finish, the front desk girl I think is Mongolian was very sweet , they were able to accommodate me for a no chip gel mani and pedi even though I arrived at 6:30. My nail technician was really awesome. He was very caring. Helping me charge my phone. Being very gentle with the polishing and brought my items over when I was getting my hands painted. I only took one off bc the smell of the polish they used or something else was very strong. I noticed it when I walked in but after a while I think I might have become part of the smell and couldn't smell anything anymore... maybe that's a bad thing? Best Manicure and Pedicure I've had in the Lincoln park area! They do a wonderful job!

I have been going to smooth nail lounge since they opened in 2021 and have been extremely happy. Before, my nails always chipped right away, broke and were brittle no matter what I did. Two years ago they suggested gel x extensions to me. They lasted 3 weeks or more without any chips! Not only was I excited to have nails that looked nice, but they grew and became healthier. They then suggested the gel overlay manicure which also lasts 3 weeks or more and has helped my nails to strengthen. It is so nice to finally have nails that I am not embarrassed of/help make me feel pretty, and that feel healthy and strong. I also love the consistent wonderful service from smooth nail lounge. I recommended some friends a couple of years ago and they have been going here ever since. read more

I've gone to this place a dozen times, and I always leave with sliced cuticles and less than perfect nails. They are super friendly and communicative, but unfortunately that does not outweigh the disappointing product. I will not be returning. The last straw was when I came in (with an appointment for a soft gel extension and regular pedicure) and because I opted to do French on my nails, my manicure took 2 hours. They then told me they weren't able to do the pedicure because I had French done. No one told me ahead of time that I could not do both. They offered for me to come back the next day at 6:30, which I did. When I got there, they had no record of the appointment and I left without a pedicure. I love to give small businesses a chance (or 6), but I truly will never go back here. I only go here mostly for convenience because it's close to me. I've always been wary of the service that's provided here (rushed, gel nails end up chipping in a few days, etc), but last night confirmed that I won't be returning. I have been here probably a total of 10 times, and here are some common things I've noticed: - Nails are always unevenly shaped - Gel or dip manicures will chip within a matter of days - Service is always rushed with half effort given (e.g., in pedicures, they will scrub your feet for 30 seconds) - They charge $10 to remove dip/gel nail polish (absurd in my opinion) - Very limited dip colors and do not do extensions/acrylics Last night, I asked the nail tech to cut my cuticles (as is standard for manicures), and she did not want to do so/could not understand why I was asking this... I also asked her to clean under my nail, and this was ignored. The manicure was overall sloppy, as she got the gel nail polish all over my skin on multiple fingers and neglected to paint the sides of certain nails. At the end, she said that she was sorry she was rushing through (not sure why because I was the only one there?) and that she would do better next time... sorry there will not be a next time! read more

Great salon but probably the worst nail tip extensions Ive ever gotten. Every time i have gotten them have had one come off sometimes within 24 hours. They do not do acrylic, they are gel tip, you can get cheaper and probably more durable extensions from walgreens and save the $60 dollars. I stopped in on an impulse after walking by and seeing an advertisement for "Dazzle Dry," a type of polish that is natural and quick drying. I figured I'd give it a go because my nails have been suffering from no-chip manis. They were able to take me right away and the tech took great care in giving me a quick and thorough manicure, complete with hot towel and hand massage. It was great! Went on a Monday afternoon on my way to a meeting. My first question was how long is this going to be and she said I'll take you right away. Well I was having problems with my parking app two other woman came in and said they were in a hurry you guessed it they took they took those two women before me not ask but she first put me in the pedicure chair full of water. After a year long search for the best nail salon I strongly believe I've finally found it at Smooth Nail Salon! This nail salon not only had good (I'm sure all their nails techs are the same, hopefully) nail techs but also techs with bright personalities which created a warm and welcoming environment. My nail tech, Sonya, was wonderful; she was fun, patient, with a positive disposition, nail color suggestions and comforting conversation. We laughed, spoke on an array of different topics AND in the entire time she took really good care of my nails and made them flawless. She made sure I was a satisfied customer and for that brief moment I forgot about the strong squeeze of our current world catastrophes. A visit to remember and recommend. Sonya is the best! This place is incredibly disappointing. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I came here on April 17th at 5 PM for a dip French manicure. To start with, the base coat went fine. But they switched out which nail tech was working on my manicure halfway through and this woman kept redoing my French tips over and over, seemingly as if it wasn't her area of expertise. It got to the point where once she did complete one nail after 45 mins of redoing them, that one nail didn't look good and I decided against French tips. When I said I no longer wanted the tips and to just leave the base coat, the woman at the front desk who did the base coat came over and offered to do them. That would've been fine if I wasn't there for almost 2 hours already. This cost me $60 + $12 tip I included and I was horribly dissatisfied. On top of that, it's already peeling and 2 of my nails broke , I think they overuse the drill to get the dip off causing your nails to get weak considering when I was here in February for a manicure, my thumb nail broke too. This hasn't happened at my usual salon I go to on Ashland. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to get a refund and I wouldn't trust them to redo my nails again. Pretty great new location. Just moved here and have already been twice. The staffs are friendly and timely if you have an appointment they are ready for you. With the new location they are offering a great 20% discount for all their services. So that makes it super great. Clean salon. Also brand new storefront so should be clean, but I assume they will keep it that way. Great new store, it is so bright and the spacious inside so it's not crowded at all. Overpriced. Underwhelming. Multiple open cuts on toes from 'buffing' during pedicure... also caused a painful ingrown toenail. Regular manicure was fine, but was left with some rough cuticles. Called ahead to make a reservation for dazzle dry mani/pedi. This was my first time trying Dazzle Dry and it really is great. I am giving this a 3 because my manicure really turned out poorly. It went so fast, my nails weren't even soaked! And then the way that the nail polish was applied (uneven), also made it dry unevenly - which is very noticeable based on the color I chose. I am bummed because dazzle dry is obviously more expensive, too. read more
