My toenails are something special. They grow up at the center, on the sides they grow into my toe and out towards the corners. This makes my toenails shorter than most and they have a strange shape. I usually just try to file, buff and clip at the corners since they make the skin on the corners very hard. Katy did my pedicure and did a fantastic job! Since my toes are peculiar many technicians do their normal routine anyway and I am not happy with the end result because the corners still bug me afterwards. Katy took her time on my corners. She took care to not hurt me but she didn't shy away from where they needed more taken out. I would post a picture of the end result but I didn't take a before picture and I don't want the weird natural shape of my toenails to turn anyone away from coming here if they are only looking at photos. The music they play is geared towards college students but still enjoyable for a 34 year old. I came here in the time of COVID-19 on 7/25/2020. My appointment was at 1pm on a Saturday. I was the only client for the first 15 minutes and then 45 minutes in, a third client showed up. They seem clean, wearing masks and tools are taken out of packaging so I know they're clean. I made my appointment via Yelp with quick responses from the owner. They also offer $5 off if you review them on Yelp or Google. I am leaving happy and will be coming here again. read more

After sitting in this salon for over TWO HOURS soaking off my dip and getting a new set put on I left with genuinely the worst nails I have ever had in my entire life. I went home and filed them all myself because none of them were the same shape or length. I had asked her multiple times to fix different aspects of my nails (which I never do, but they looked that bad) she eventually started saying she was not able to fix them. They are all different thicknesses and I prefer my nails on the thinner side and asked her to slim them down multiple times where and I still left with the thickest nails I have ever had. Did not cure the top coat under a UV light and multiple of them have a messed up top coat from not being cured and then her maneuvering my hands throughout the process. I could go on and on about this experience but I would rather just bluntly say do not go here. When I checked out she did not even give me my receipt to sign for a tip because she could tell I was not at all satisfied with the service. Tried this spot with a Groupon after driving by it for about a year. I was really disappointed. I had a promo on Groupon but had I paid $30 in the salon would have been very much more upset. First I let the tech know my right to was hurting a bit if she could please try and clip it. She left after all she did was cut and file my nails. The other tech that finished and rushed through my husbands pedi took over and did not cut cuticles even notice the hang nail sticking out from my right pinky toe, it's been hurting for days. I had hopes that I had found a new great spot but I'm very disappointed. We both check and my nails seemed dried as it was a matte sandpaper polish but when I arrived home my right foot was alll smudged. I'll just have to get a new pedicure this weekend. read more

Loved this place! Booked a couple of appointments for a friend's birthday, the staff was lovely. They allowed BYOB which was so fun, threw on Schitt's Creek for background noise, made sure our massage chairs were on... and then when we moved to manis the male nail tech came around and topped off our wine! I booked a spa pedicure which is $30 more than their regular pedicure offered. I arrived after someone in the middle of their pedicure and finished before them (their spa pedicures are advertised as a longer service than the basic ones). The nail tech was extremely rough, got lotion all over the chair which then transferred to my pants, the massage chairs were broken, and the experience wasn't as advertised. I don't recommend coming here. My service felt like an inconvenience to the woman there. There are so many other places to go in the area that are worth their value. Came in with a Groupon for a mani/pedi. Pros: DePaul student discount, BYOB, friendly nail techs, good location Cons: -Pretty good selection of polished.. mainly Essie, OPI and Zoya. But you can tell a lot of the polishes are old. The color I chose was so old and thick that it pained me to watch the nail tech try and apply it. -One of the worst manicures I've gotten. This is the worst nail experience I have ever had. The customer service was terrible and my nails look terrible. I've been getting acrylics done for four years now and I have never had someone be so rude to me and refuse to do what I politely asked for. I showed the person multiple designs and they refused to do them because she said it would take too long even though no one else was there. When I requested the shape of my nails she did something completely different and when I asked for her to do them how I wanted she was incredibly rude and still didn't do what I asked for. My nails are crooked and many aren't the same shape. There is a strange strip on my thumb and my pointer finger wasn't fixed properly nor painted properly. I called and asked to speak to a manager or owner and was hung up on. Absolutely terrible, do not go here. read more

I went in for a pedicure that had high ratings on Groupon. It was disappointing to say the least! The women were not pleasant, and they said they would call us back to make an appointment and never called back? Had someone else call and suddenly they have availability Upon receiving the pedicure, it was mediocre at best. I went with a friend and we were displeased. Massage chairs didn't work and we were scolded for attempting to use them! There were flies flying all over which was distracting to say the least for what is supposed to be a relaxing experience. Then when we finished getting polished, they took us to the dryers (they didn't work) so we had to wait forever for nails to dry. My friends still hasn't dried and the artist didn't believe her, so my friend touched her nail and it smeared and the artist scolded her like a child! Then when she fixed it, she painted her nails 2 different colors! We didn't notice until we left since the lighting was so dim. Save your time and money and go else where. Only giving two stars because they took us as walk ins basically with the groupon. Update: Owner replied and agreed I would be better going elsewhere! For some reference- I got a pedicure, walk-in around 1:30 on a Tuesday. Service was wonderful. I got to sit back and watch Emily in Paris. Chair massages are not free- important to note for the people unhappy when they try to use the chairs and are yelled at. 10 minutes is $15, 15 minutes is $20 and so on. The technician was thorough and detail oriented, exactly what you want when getting a pedicure. There is free wifi and BYOB, fun for a wonderful pedicure experience. read more

I came in to Be Polished with a Groupon Certificate that was gifted to me by my partner. The services I received were a Non-chip Manicure and regular Pedi. I loved it all. I did have to make an appointment, although I arrived earlier then the scheduled time they took me. They started with my pedi, as I chose the non chip color I wanted the woman who was doing my pedi went and found a color that matched exactly for my toes. The pedicure was amazing; it consisted of a scrub and regular pedi duties but in the end she threw a hot towel on my feet/legs which felt amazing. We then moved onto my manicure which was also a great experience. She groomed my nails very nicely and made sure I was satisfied. My nails have lasted almost three weeks!!! I never thought I'd have a preference for a nail salon, but I love this place -- and I go out of my way past at least a dozen other salons to go there. They are always extremely friendly and warm, and they've always done an excellent job with my manis/pedis. A mani will last about a week, and the pedis 3-4 weeks on average. I went there for the first time about a year and a half ago with two friends. We were planning the one friend's bachelorette party, and we liked Be Polished so much that we decided to start the bachelorette evening off there several months later. They closed the shop early for us, had a folding table set up to accommodate food and wine, and even supplied an ice bucket and wine glasses. I LOVE this place!!!! Everyone that works at Be Polished is so friendly and accommodating! I live in Logan Square and come all the way here because the service is amazing! My no chips last almost 3 weeks!!!!!!(I'm a hairdresser most no chips come off in a week maybe week and a half because of being in water so much, but not with the no chips I receive here!)
