I rarely post reviews, yet alone bad ones, but I just had to provide feedback after a bad experience I had with this salon. This has been my go-to nail salon since moving in the area and haven't really had any issues. I always get gel manicure and they do a decent job each time. However, a recent appointment I had on Tuesday disappointed me. I had Gel X nails done from another salon last month for my birthday and came to Salon NB to have them removed. When I came in, I got helped right away and the service itself was quick but towards the end, another customer came in and the manager (?) was rushing the nail tech helping me, and the nail tech literally half assed the service, put some oil and called it a day. I was like, "that's it?" I could've done this at home! Not to mention the nail tech was really aggressive with filing my nails and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing.. I'm attaching photos of what my nails looked like after the service and 2 DAYS later. Mind you I work a desk job and didn't do anything labor intensive for my nails to look like it these. I also noticed the day after that one of my fingers had a cut and was bleeding. Anyway, I'm upset and I had to get it redone at another salon in order to fix it. This has been my go-to salon for years and I'm a believer that one rush job shouldn't be the basis of my entire experience but sad to say I won't be coming back. read more

Would not recommend, at least for dip nails. I came in with dip on my nails and they didn't even remove 100% of the old dip before starting. I thought it was odd but figured they knew what they were doing. They did my dip in about 20 mins, only 2 layers of color (usually get 3 at other salons). Not even a day after, two of my nails had begun to chip from the tips. Almost like they were worn, but it has only been a day I went in about three days after to get those two nails fixed. Now it's been about 5 days, and another 3 nails are chipping PLUS one of the ones I got redone. Quality has just been terrible. read more

I've been coming to Salon NB since moving from Lakeview to LP three years ago. They are very quick with it and precise. I always feel taken care of and usually it does not take long. For dip, I'm usually out within an hour and for a regular pedicure, usually 30 mins. The staff are all very friendly, too! I've recommended a handful of friends who moved to the area here and they're all satisfied too. Great prices as well. read more

Poor communication - I asked how the long the wait would be for a manicure, they did not respond clearly. I waited for a bit and then they moved me to a manicure station, where I waited again. No clear response. The nail technician then wrapped my nails in foil and acetone and left me waiting for 30 minutes, while she worked on someone else's nails. No communication at all. If they were busy they could have said so instead of wasting my time. Terrible results - 30 minutes is too long for nail polish remover. I decided to just remove the paint and leave. She did a quick shoddy job at that after making me wait for a total of one hour. The skin on my fingers is extremely dry, and my nails are unbearable to touch all probably damaged because of that long soak time. I've been here a couple of times before but thanks to their complete disinterest they lost a customer. read more

Used to come here for regular mani & pedi - it's good for that. I switched to no-chip, and their no-chip services have destroyed my nails. The no-chip gel they use is old, thick, and impossible to get off - requiring them to drill, foil acetone soak, drill again into my natural nail. Now my nails are thin, weak, & rough. Aside from the bad no-chip products, there's a mix of good and bad techs. The last tech I had was so careless, cutting my cuticles, trying to put chemicals on the cut & blood, and turning away while using the electric drill and running it over my skin. Twice. read more

Was in a pinch and read reviews that seemed to be good. Maybe for women's nails or gel they are great, but for a basic mani/pedi it was an extremely poor job. Lady was nice, but she didn't do a great job. From my photos, you can see nails are uneven, cuticles all over the place. Pedi, water basin wasn't even full to let my feet soak before she began and it was quick and my feet look worse than before i went in. I get my nails done every other week. Not worth the price and wouldn't recommend. I'll have to just correct them myself at home. read more

Went here as a new customer for a regular dip manicure - made my appointment for one day out and had no issue getting a time slot. Service is really quick, I was surprised in the best way, and final product looks fantastic. Knocking one star from my first visit as I had a few bloody cuticle cuts on both hands and the first tech was applying heavy heavy force to grind down my nails that was a little painful. It was super easy to schedule an appointment with them online however the time I selected was already taken so I feel like there could've been a better system. When I walked in, the guy had no clue which service I was here for even though I put regular manicure online. I got to pick out a color and got seated with a nail tech. She got started and was very polite and gentle. However, right before starting the painting process she asked if I could pay. I was kind of confused because usually for services like these you would pay after especially when it came to tipping. I tipped around 15-18% before she even painted my nails which is thought it was interesting. I thought the nail tech did a pretty good job and I haven't had any significant or noticeable chipping after a week of having them done. They also have a $2 difference if you pay in cash! read more

I wanted to give this place a second try and it was my last time. The space and ambiance is nice. It's clean, spacious, and has welcoming atmosphere. The service, however, is very mediocre. Everything feels rushed - especially the massage portion of the pedicure. It's very rushed and time spent massaging calves is less than 2min per leg. I have had several bad experiences here. Two times, the techs made weird comments about me being tall (legs being too long for the pedicure chair or feet being big) which is wildly inappropriate. I gave it one more shot since I was desperate before an event. I had an appointment, they made me sit for 15 minutes without acknowledging me or letting me take a chair. After, I said it was not right, they had someone that was much better take over. The issue was that the second person, worked with the mistake instead of starting over. I came in for a gel mani with designs and polish change on toes. The lady who worked on my nails did not pay great attention to details. The polish was either spilling to the side or not close to the cuticle. I can tell my gel is going to lift 2 days from now. And to the easiest service, polish change for toes, she put too much polish on so then when she applied top coat, it looks smudged and messy. If you are okay with nails looking okay from far, then yes this is your place, but if you want long lasting nails, I do not recommend this salon. read more

On top of this, the shape and quality of my pedicure is lousy. They put about 6 layers of polish on my toes and it's thick and they are not shaped properly per my request. I picked a color and asked if it was gel, it wasn't until I was through the pedicure that they tell me the color I choose was a chrome color and I'd have to choose another. They also cut off all of my corners so my toe nails themselves are extremely round which I didn't know was possible.
