If you get no-chip and one of your nails chips after a week, expect to pay to get them redone. Other nail salons do offer free fixes for poor service. When requesting a new top coat on the rest of my nails (which would have taken 1 minute) once I was told there was a charge for fixing, I was met with an argument, which I had to walk away from, and the cashier continued to try to argue as I walked out the door. I had been weary of getting my nails done in Chicago due to the cost and the nightmare stories I hear, but I had a wonderful experience at Pearl's! I called for a last minute appointment for 3 people and they were able to fit us in within an hour of calling. We didn't have to wait, we weren't rushed or pressured in any way, it was a refreshing experience overall. This was one of the few times I didn't have to redirect the nail tech to fix my nails, whether it be shape or attention to detail or anything. The prices are pretty standard for Chicago but at least you know you're getting exactly what you ask for! No surprise costs or last minute change ups. Came here for a walk-in pedicure last late on a Saturday. I was seated immediately. I love that they have OPI products. The pedicure was nice and relaxing and it was great that hot stones and a shoulder massage was included. It was $35 with no tip. I highly recommend them and would come back. read more

My nails were not done correctly, they redid 3 of them when requested. Those 3 are double as thick and have no shape to them, and completely differing from the rest of the nails. i requested a regular pedicure and any mail service that did not ruin my natural nails. I expressed my concerns of my calluses and ingrown toenails. I received a 20 min pedicure - with severe judgement from staff, they wouldnt remove my ingrown toenails but slapped gel x over my wounds - which will make them worse (despite the mail technicians instruction that it is better). I almost walked out prior to jail service but decided to give them another chance and should not have. gel x price on the sign was $63 - I was charged $85 (removal of 4 nails already coming off), my natural nails were drilled down and not cleaned at all. the are crooked and not what I asked for. First, I will say this is not my first visit here, maybe my fifth and generally good experiences. There is usually a gentleman at the front that greets and he has always been nice, but I don't know if the other owner is his wife or what her role is, but she has always had a bit of an attitude but today was the worst. I have never been spoken to so rudely. Her behavior today was so uncalled for causing the need for 1 star, otherwise I would have given it more from my previous experiences. That being said, I have a different nail salon I go to, they're always so busy so I sometimes struggle to get in to see my nail tech. When my manicure is about to chip and I cannot get in, I come here as a back up. They have always been good with time, never have charged me for removal of no chip, never any additional unexpected changes. Today, everything was horrible. I don't know if I got a new tech, she seemed new given this whole thing took over two hours for a no chip manicure and regular pedicure. I always go to these two places and they have NEVER had an issue removing my no chip but she was really struggling today. Then, I notice one of my nail looks like it's broken, I bring it up to the tech, thinking maybe let's just cut my nails down this time and let them re-grow, so as I show her, she says don't touch it, I see it. I say, ok.... Then she brings nail glue. My history with nail glue is that it doesn't work well, so I bring this up to her, she brings over the not happy owner lady. I say, I don't think nail glue will work well, she goes, "we use it with this gel strengthener", so I ask, does that work well or should we just cut my nails? She says "we can cut your nails but it will be very short, it will probably hurt and I'll still have to use the glue"... so I'm like, ok, well if you're still using the glue, we might as well just keep the length and I will cut them next time so it won't be painful. So they out the glue and then this powder stuff on it and it's all bumpy. I was like, are we going to buff it? The new nail tech said that it would remove the glue if we do that... so I'm like, so it's going to look bumpy? And she goes back to get mean nail lady to come tell me that the strengthener will go on and she can buff. I'm like, ok, I've never experienced this, let see how this goes. I basically keep my mouth shut until the end because at this point, I've been at this nail salon for over 2 hrs which is insane, my nails look bumpy, uneven, I just want to pay and leave. Go to check out, mean lady goes "ok, you owe $89.... Me..... um, what? Gel mani and regular pedi is $70, how did we go up by almost $20... Here is where she gets real attitude... well, you had gel removal (I have never been charged this before when I've come in the past, I told her this, she said you got a hard one, you saw how long it took, I told her I always go to one other place and you guys have never had this issue.... She said, what, you just jump between them and us?! Um yes, and it has never been a problem before... "well it was very hard to remove".... Again, no different than ever before, so maybe it's an issue with your new nail tech? Then she says in addition to the removal of the gel manicure, the fixing of two nails and a long nail fee. Ummmmmmmmmmm, I have never been charged a long nail fee?! And she never communicated any of these charges. She said the nail glue was free but the special strengthening thing she used with it was not... she then says, what?! You expect free services?!... she starts getting loud and snippy. I was like, obviously I don't expect free services, I paid this, but this is not appropriate for you to not say 'hey, we can use this but it will be an extra service fee' ... how am I supposed to to know that the glue is free but the strengthener js not. Also, I never asked for a strengthener, but she kept shouting that I asked to make my nails strong and that the glue wouldn't work. I DID say, I don't think the glue would work, but SHE said she was using it in conjunction with this strengthener stuff and she wanted to use it on all my fingers but with time, I was just like, just this finger is fine. So, whom I brought up my concerns and even asked if we should just cut my nails, she made it sound like they would be fixing them regardless and no charges were discussed with me. The whole long nail fee to me is astonishing, I personally have never seen that before. I thought there might be some extra charge, but almost $20 more than the fee I expected was insane and her attitude was truly disgusting. There are SOOOO many nail places, save yourself from dealing with this woman. I would tell you guys where I love to go, but they're already too busy and I don't want to make it harder for me to get an appointment . Anyway. Won't be back here. I hate writing negative reviews too so now I'm going to go be a fan girl for places that to deserve a rave review. read more

I was supposed to get a bright glitter ruby red color, and they noted the color that I picked had a chrome finish on it, which was $15 extra and I was okay with that. I was expecting the color/nail stick that I had picked out and got nothing like it. I left over an hour later (only a gel manicure) paying $54 to walk out with these nails. I had already been there from 3-4:15, I think the nail technician had messed up on my right hand which is fine but I'd rather be told there was a mistake, because she added 3 extra layers of gel/chrome each on it (so 6 more layers) The owner was nice but I don't think anybody would agree this was a good job and worth $54, I would not come back and disappointed as inside was much nicer than other nail salons and clean, but upset with the result I'm not sure if the pictures are posting to my review, but I labeled the photos read more

Everyone here is really nice, but their regular manicures just do not last. I had these nails done Friday at 4pm, and three nails are already pretty badly chipping Monday at 7am. I have been here before and mentioned this to them, and their response is to get the more expensive "Dazzle Dry" instead. This is not ok - the regular manicure should last longer than this. I have been a customer at Pearl's for almost 10 years and have always been pleased with the service. I am very frustrated by their booking policies. I was happy to put a $50 depost down to hold my appointment. On the day of the appointment, my daughter woke up with vomiting and a fever. I contacted Pearl's before they opened to let them know that I would need to change the appointment from a group of 3 to 2. Unfortunately, they said that the $50 deposit would have to be used toward her no show appoitnment. Be aware when you are booking that even if someone in your party is sick, you will still be charged.. I never threatened to leave a negative review. I have been to my fair share of nail salons throughout many of the Chicago neighborhoods in the 16 years I have lived here and this experience has to rank at the very top! The attention to detail, time and consideration that Sobo took with my mani/pedi was amazing. The hot stone massage on my legs and the neck massage was icing on the cake. I HAVE to leave a review for Pearl's because their no-chip manicure has been amazing!! Far and beyond exceeded my expectations!! I don't get my nails done often because my nails have always been oily. If I get a regular manicure, my nails will chip the same day or the next. If I get gel, they'll still chip or peel in about three days - so if I need to get my nails done for an event, I usually try to plan my nail appointments the day before the event, just to make sure they still look nice. I've never tried dip, and I did acrylic once, but hated it (I much rather prefer my natural nails). This time, I hadn't gotten my nails done in more than a year, so I decided to treat myself and get them done with a friend. No event in mind, just wanted to enjoy myself, so who cares if it didn't last very long. WOW, I'm so glad I did!!! The attached photos are my nails on days 11 and 12 - with absolutely NO CHIPS and no peeling!! My nails grow fast, so they're not perfectly in line with my cuticles anymore, but I am SO happy with the results. Aside from the one time I tried acrylic, I have NEVER had nails last this long and looks so good. If you're looking for quality, this is the place. I loved Pearl's and definitely recommend to a friend!! (Before I finish, we're now exiting COVID, so I do want to make comments on how clean and safe they were. I'm torn about posting this because the ladies were super nice, but I'm extremely unhappy with my visit. The pedicure water was cold but since everywhere else I go it's scorching hot I didn't make a comment on that so that it doesn't turn into the same issue. Once my nails were done I glanced down and noticed that she painted them so far away from the nail bed they looked like they were done a week or two ago. I wasn't too happy but since it's my toes I didn't make a big deal out of it. I came home to find the color not dry even though I sat through an entire no chip manicure. She didn't check if it was dry and thinking back to it there was probably never going to be a chance for them to be dry if she used multiple coats and with how cold the salon was. My fingernails look a bit better as in the no chip is actually dry but there are multiple bubbles on a few nails and the color is uneven. They just don't look like what I'm used to seeing after leaving a professional salon. I'm leaving for vacation and it's upsetting that I paid money for something I had to redo at home. Not to mention that I will be taking the manicure off as soon as I'm back. It's just not worth the money. read more

Recently moved to the area and got my nails done here before I left for Paris. Literally 2 days later they completely chipped off so my entire trip they looked terrible. I had such high hopes for this place, not to mention for the price I paid for a dip manicure and pedicure. Dip manicures lasted me weeks at my previous nail salon. This was my first time here and I was happy with the Regular Pedi & No-Chip Mani yesterday until today. I got my regular pedicure and no chip manicure yesterday at 4:30pm, and by 5pm today 3 of my nails had PEELED OFF! Horribly disappointed that for $90+ for a Regular Pedi & No-Chip Mani that in barley 24 hours almost half my manicure peeled off. I've been getting no chip for years and NEVER had it peel off within the first week let alone within the first day. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this nail salon if you're looking for the best and most affordable pedicure and callus treatment. I've been going around every single nail salon that offers "signature" pedicures under 60$ and that truly get rid of the callus on your heels. So far I've been extremely disappointed, but Pearl's Nails made the entire search worth it. For starters, the salon itself is decorated in a super cozy and relaxing way. It's small, yet effective, and how can we forget, BYOB! I made an appointment through Yelp, and Jaeyon, the owner responded instantly and helped me pick out the services that best fit my needs. The day off, I was stuck on the brown line and called to let them know that I was going to be 15 min late. Unlike most nail salons that either end up disregarding your appointment or rush through it, Jaeyon was very understanding and was still able to accommodate me. I was so happy to see that they sanitize all of their tools. They also have a huge range of regular, gel and DIP manicure colors. It took me about 5-10 minutes before I settled on a color. It's always nice to see that you have plenty of options to choose from and aren't limited at all. The signature pedicure was unbelievably relaxing and effective. After they scrub, clean and massage your feet, they apply some sort of "hot wax" on your heels to seal in the moisture and get rid of all the callus. My heels felt smoother than a baby's butt. The ladies did a wonderful job and took really great care of me. I am so happy that my search is over and now I know where to go for the best pedicure in the Chicago area! Till next time! read more

Super sub-par service. Yesterday, I was really excited to try out a new place near my new apartment but was disappointed when I got home and really checked out my nails. The woman was super super nice and I greatly appreciated the hand massage and neck massage that she gave me but my nails are awful. First of all, the acrylic was done in a way I've never seen before... she never even pulled out an electric tool to sand down my nails or the fake tips she was adding... I've never seen it done that way? Then she just kept adding coats of clear gel and I was thinking that maybe it's a different technique. Disappointing. There's "acrylic" or whatever she was using on my skin which is stuck there, they're bumpy, misshaped, missing polish in areas, and my cuticles look horrible. AND It's been less than 24 HOURS and one has already lifted and is about to fall off. I regret ever trying a new place and would like my money back. Edit: FOUR nails have fallen off in 24 hours. Great salon! I went here for the first time on Saturday morning. Made an appointment online and luckily they accepted it really quickly! It is clean, and safe environment - not crowded or stuffy. A ton of nail color options. I got a spa pedicure and no chip manicure. My nail person did a great job on everything! Will definitely be back...depending how long my no chip lasts (which I hope is a while because I love the shine and color!) Update: I wasn't able to post but 6 days since my no-chip and my nails on the right hand were already chipping :( which sucks cause overall this was a great experience. The service here is excellent! I had a Groupon for a pedicure. I'm so glad I bought it, I may come back here even without a Groupon! I called and made an appointment with no trouble. Chicagoans - this is the place to go to get your nails done. I can only speak for the no-chip manicures, but out of the many no-chips that I have gotten in Chicago, Pearl's does the best. I am currently two weeks into a no-chip from Pearl's, and my nails still look perfectly polished. The service is great as well. The manicurists are efficient with the manicures, yet you still walk out feeling pampered. They have many week-day deals, and are willing to take walk-ins and day-of appointments.
