Another update! I went back to fix my bad neon green dip manicure and Jackie did an AMAZING job. They still look brand new except for the ONE nail I banged on metal unloading some stuff at the loading dock at work--part of the polish chipped off. Considering getting it repaired but likely will just wait to get them all done together. Anyway, thank you Jackie! I will request you next time!

They got me in without an appointment and The service was incredible and they did such a great job. ****Updating to give 5 stars again after my experience today. I broke my nail while i was doing laundry and they were able to get me in RIGHT away to fix it. Plus, You would be able to tell which nail broke because of how great of a job they did.

This place sets itself apart in those categories....and it's huge. On another note, Jackie gave me the pro tip that I can have my nails longer than I thought. I'm giving 3 stars because the service was awesome & I enjoyed being able to make an appointment same day. I went in for a "no-chip" mani & pedi which was 90, including tip. This was Sunday, March 13, (for my birthday)...by Friday March 18th, (4 days later) I had a chipped nail. I didn't bother going back to have it fixed because honestly it's a week and a day later and attached are how they look.... They're peeling at the cuticles as if it's been a full 2 weeks. It does suck spending so much money but having my expectations be let down...

If you're looking for quick, clean and quality nail service, come here! Treated myself to a mani pedi for my bday today and was running behind my pampering schedule for the day, but I was able to get a gel mani and regular pedi in less than an hour. I felt like I was in and out. Originally, I was just going to do a gel mani, go to my hair appointment and then come back later for a regular pedi, but the nail tech delivered! I didn't get my tech's name, but she had short hair and glasses. Very nice lady! read more

My roommate and I wanted to try a new nail place because we were sick of paying $100+ and leaving the salon disappointed every time. We called VIP to make an appointment and we are SO glad we did! They were so friendly, my friend and I both got Gel X manicures and they are the best nails I've had done since I moved to Chicago. The spa is huge, super clean, relaxing, and so much more. We arrived at 12:15 and finished at 1:10. Super fast, and so beyond happy with the results. This just became our new favorite in the neighborhood! Thank you VIP! read more

I've been twice and have been really impressed as a walk in! Ive had two different manicurists and they both did an excellent job with shaping my nails. Also, they have a huge selection of colors for gel (I haven't looked at the selections for other options). The salon looks very clean! read more

I went here a few weeks ago for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The salon was spacious and clean and the women working there were very nice and even helped me with color selection. Everything looked great when I left the salon and I was very happy with the work however after only a few days my manicure started lifting. This was my first time getting a gel manicure so I honestly wasn't sure if this was normal or not but after some research it seems that my nails may not have been properly prepped. Other reviewers seemed to have good luck with their gel polish lasting though so mine may have just been a fluke! read more

I'll start with the positive: great location; immaculate layout; most expansive color collection I've seen. I had high hopes. I normally do not get manicures. Every once in a while, when my nails are particularly ratty or I have a special occasion, I'll splurge. I had both reasons today, so I went for a french. The manicure was a polish change with cuticle push back - no massage, no parafin, not even time to wash my hands. It also involved a lot of alcohol spray which isn't great when hands are already winter dry. My polish is ok, I guess. But my nails are uneven -- which was my primary purpose in having someone else do them for me. For the first time in my life, I filed them more to fix them when I got home. Also, I'm so tired of being shamed for not being able to relax my hands and not wanting to do dip or gel. I'm a control freak and relaxing is hard. Also I have healthy nails and long nail beds. Regular nail polish works for me. My quest for a decent nail place in Chicago continues...or maybe this is a sign to not waste $24 on temporary luxury and save it all for more Dear Margaret dinners :). read more

The salon is immaculate which is the top thing I look for in a nail salon. I got both a pedicure and no chip manicure. While there I really enjoyed the services. The foot massage was great! Once I got home I noticed how sloppy the no chip mani was. My cuticles are a mess. I got a white color and the tech did not use a brush to clean up the edges or lines of the polish, she used her nail! (I've had dozens of no chips so was surprised by that but didn't say anything during the service). It does not look professionally done, it looks like I did it myself. Parts are already lifting 2 days later. They said they have a 2 week guarantee on their no chip but it honestly would have to all come off and be redone to satisfy me and I wouldn't be comfortable asking for that. I also noticed tonight that my pedicure is already chipping (2 days post service). I will go back for another pedicure to see how it goes but really disappointed in the manicure. read more

Had a gel manicure done here & requested some pretty basic nail art, which was white lines on black nail polish. I've done it on my nails at home before and it came out better. I even showed a picture of exactly what I wanted and the nail tech kept doing her own art..‍ I tried to explain to her to just forget the art and let me go with just the black polish, but she didn't understand because of the language barrier. She finally brought the one other person working their over and she took over and finished my nails. Will not be returning & would not recommend this place. read more

One "no chip manicure," one dip nails, two full-set acrylics, and the regular pedicure. Thankfully, they were able to get us in quickly. All three nail technicians were kind and worked quickly to take care of us. They have news on one tv and music videos in another. It's super chill in here, and none of us felt rushed. We would absolutely return for another quick girls' day.

The woman doing my nails was not doing the shape I wanted so another person had to step in to finish my nails. I was telling her the concerns I had about my nails because they didn't look right and I shit you not she said "is that your OCD showing?" Like what? I don't know you??? Wtf kind of customer service is that?!I work in the service industry as a server and I wasn't even going to leave this review until the gel x nails I got didn't even last 5 days. 2 of the nails I got popped off 4 days later. Actually horrible customer service and horrible service at that. Go anywhere but here!

She does good almond. However, I hate a pedicure from this place. Avoid chair 9 at all cost. I've had her twice and she is rough and gives a 10 minute pedicure without taking nail polish off feet and just slop stuff on your feet. It's ridiculous. Rough and careless with a pedicure. Lazy with service, glue on hands after your hands soak in acetone. You have to ask them to help you get it off by actually giving you a wipe to remove it from your hands. I had service one time from chair 1, she left glue on my hands and didn't even ask me if I wanted lotion. Rude. So I wouldn't go to her. I do feel it's a bit fake in there and about the money. Today I came in and wasn't really greeted which makes me feel like hmm what's up with that? I like my nails today and the price is right but I won't go out the way like I've done to get service.

I ended up waiting 30 minutes with still no service, and one of the workers was arguing with who I assume was the owner outside. Two other girls who did have appointments were also waiting to be serviced. I started to read how bad the gel is here and ended up walking out and leaving. Won't be going here ever again! Had really bad vibes!

I don't usually leave reviews but I found this nail salon on yelp so it's only right to post my own review. I also do not usually get my nails done, but I wanted acrylics for a special occasion a few weeks ago. I actually came back for a fill because I had such a good experience! I've been here twice now-- once for the full set ~2 weeks ago and today for the fill. Both times I've brought in inspiration photos. Jackie is so lovely and detail-oriented! She makes sure I'm happy multiple times throughout the process and checks in about pricing. As far as pricing, I consider getting my nails done to be a treat and the pricing seems fair to me. A full-set of acrylics starts at $30 and fill in starts at $20. In terms of covid precautions, all employees wear masks and it hasn't been particularly crowded either time I've been there. Jackie is so professional, she has great ideas and so generous with letting you try something different that is not on the "menu" They are super fast, the colors last and they have a TON to choose from. During Covid I have come in here a lot and it always safe and very clean. I have also done very fun combo requests that are always happily accommodated. Got these fun holiday nails and got LOTS of compliments. Prices are great, too! DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. Pristinely clean nail spa with all color choices for OPI, DND and others in a beautifully arranged color display wall! I was so impressed with the time and care they took with my spa pedicure and manicure. They had nice touches like a sea scrub, lotion and hot towels wrapped around your legs and feet. Jackie at VIP Nail Salon is the absolute BEST manicurist I have been to by far. She is so thorough in her acrylic work, and I don't trust anyone else with my nails! From the first time I came in, she made the space warm and inviting and kept great conversation - which really eases the nerves of trying a new place. Took my fiancé to get a couples pedicure and was very impressed. Salon is extremely clean, the equipment is updated and the technicians were very nice. The massage was superb.
