I'm in terrible pain 24 hrs after my pedicure. Like other reviews, the technician "cut out my ingrown toenail" without asking me. I've never had anything like this done to me in any other pedicure. Essentially cutting the side of my nail to create a hangnail and pulling/ripping it down to the root. It was incredibly painful. She said most people scream when she does it and sometimes bleed. But she didn't sterilize my toe or the tools before doing this or ask if I wanted it. The pain wasn't that noticeable after the initial pain of her ripping part of my nail root off but has gotten worse and worse over the last day. I get if someone wants this done, but I went to get a relaxing first post COVID pedicure and instead have two throbbing big toes, wounds to treat/clean to avoid infection, and sharp pain even when I'm not on my feet. Not to mention the worry of how it's going to grow out and potentially cause a more serious issue. Even if this hadn't happened the pedicure was no frills, super basic. read more

It's great! super nice staff and the place feels very cozy. And by cozy I don't mean a nice word for small. I mean it feels super comfortable and like you're getting your nails done in your best friends living room. Except extremely hygienic living room. so best of both worlds. The only reason I give it a 4 was I came in looking online and having a price in mind for a mani pedi and ended up paying more after accidentally getting a no chip. They are not very welcoming when you enter the facility. The people at the salon should speak English when clients are present just to be polite. I felt very rushed through my manicure and did not feel the person was very thorough and I don't think the tools were not even sterilized. read more

"Would not recommend" is the best way to summarize my visit yesterday. They don't take reservations on Sundays...okay. I went in with my boyfriend. Seating was limited as we waited. Once seated for our pedicures, he received a wonder nail tech that provided detailed service and had maintained good conversation...which makes my experience even worse having to watch his as my nail tech working on my pedicure proceeded to: Critique my toe nail shape and shame me for having slightly ingrown toe nails Rush through the process Skip steps Give me a mini lecture at the end about taking care of ingrown toe nails (as though I haven't been dealing with this for the last 26 years) Rude. So rude. And the pedicure wasn't even good. She literally carved out the sides of my big toe nail which is bound to cause infection when growing back in and didn't round out the edges so I'm sure it will chip within days. I left frustrated and embarrassed. That being said, unsure whether or not I'll go back. The other tech that worked on my boyfriend gives me hope...but honestly the review are spot on -- no consistency. read more

I got a no chip mani done on 10/13 and most of it came off by 10/21. I called on 10-23 to let them know and they said I could come the very same day or the next day to fix it. I went into the salon at 3.45 on 10/24. The owner asked me to come in to get redone and was super defensive when seeing my nails that there is no way they could have done a bad job on my nails. She also said that it has been 13 days since they did my nails and I am still figuring out the math. She was very impolite and rude to me and I just walked out of the salon without getting it redone as they really hurt my feelings. Instead of fixing the issue they in turn were trying to blame me. I initially thought that this place's staff is amazing but after this experience I am very offended and hurt by their behavior towards me. read more

Thanks to the Nail Loft! I had been eagerly anticipating this opening as I've passed by a few times during their renovation and it looked so cute. And cute it is - really clean and a total turn around from what was in the space before. It's very bright and cheery with chandeliers and other cute touches. The staff was super nice. I was running by and totally sweaty and popped my head in to see if they were indeed open. They were! So, I let them know that I would be back in the afternoon to get a manicure. They were so accommodating - even though I was sweaty and had no money or wallet on me, they told me to come on in and that I could come back later and pay. WHAT?! Wow! I said no, but didn't need much prodding. So, I had a very relaxing manicure. I sat for a bit afterwards to dry them, but then went home to grab some money so that I could go back and pay! They seemed a smidge surprised that I returned (either so fast or at all!), but I did return. Really great deal - $11 manicure if you pay with cash ($12 otherwise). No neck/back massage (which I love typically), but really relaxing and friendly. Clean and neat and a great spot! read more

I stopped buy here with a group of ladies the morning after a bachelorette party. We had scheduled appointments and were able to walk right in, pick our polish and sit down and get started (They also take walk-ins when its slow). The staff were very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable in their field, and fast. It is also BYOB so you can bring champagne/alcohol if you please. You can pay with card or cash, but you get a discount if you pay in cash and can Venmo tip to your nail technician. Prices are very reasonable, much more so than a lot of other places and the manicures and pedicures last a very long time. I had no problems with chipping. The facility is light, bright and clean! *WILL NEVER COME BACK* Covid has been tough, and I hate to leave this type of review for a nail salon, but I'm not picky and had a terrible experience. It's only fair others are aware. I had my eyebrows waxed and they turned out to be uneven. Needless to say, there's no solution for ruined eyebrows other than letting them grow back (which sucks). Besides, technicians being rude, my appointment was not honored as I had to wait for over an hour for someone to take care of me. Only positive thing is that their nail polish selection is good. I would rate zero stars if I could. Went in with my gf because we had an appointment for 12 o'clock, we didn't get taken care of until 2 o'clock and had several people come before us. If I were to say it bluntly, it seemed like they catered more to white people than anyone else, the disparity in service for anyone who wasn't white was sub-par and very disgusting IMO. I normally love this place. The ladies are very nice and professional but after my last visit, I'm seriously thinking of never going back. The nail tech who did my mani/pedi had my fingers and toes bleeding for at least three days afterwards. She digs and digs and digs into the sides of your toes even after being told repeatedly that she is hurting you! Her response is always that you have ingrown toenails which is not the truth. Then you are chastised for not coming at least once a month. This last time she cut the cuticle on one of my fingers and I was still bleeding hours after I left. Never again. It's one nail tech in particular. I never have this problem with any of the other ladies. It's one thing to make a mistake but to tell her over and over that she's being too rough and be ignored is unacceptable! If I ever go back, this nail tech will never touch me again! read more

Most of the people who work here are great and very good at their job, but I had a really negative experience that last time I was here. I came in to get my eyebrows waxed and Donna was very rude. This is the second I have had her and both times I've felt like she has shamed me. Comments included "You suck at this" (referring to how I flinched during the waxing process), poking jokes that I don't come in often enough, and even making condescending comments about how I wasn't bringing a date to a wedding I was attending that night. I was 5 minutes late to my appointment because I was unaware that Roscoe street was closed so I had to find parking a bit further and the nail tech said since I was a few minutes late I would now need to wait 30 minutes. Most nail salons have a small window as they sometimes run behind, which customers understand. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a nail salon. When the owner mistakenly booked my mother's mani-pedi for the wrong date, instead of taking responsibility or even apologizing she acted like they would NEVER have made a mistake, and talked to her like she was stupid. It was incredibly rude. I understand that people make mistakes but there's no reason for them to be so rude and condescending. One of the manicurists almost had a melt down over it. We are getting married August 22nd and we scheduled an appointment to get pedicures again. We got there today and we were told that they can't honor our appointment as they are too busy. Why have appointments at all? I understand waiting a minute or two, but to not let us in as they are too busy is not good. A few days before our wedding and the bride is crushed. Please stay away from this mess and tell your friends. A reasonable response would have been acceptable, but to flat out tell us we are out was very rude.
