Zula was my nail tech and she did an INCREDIBLE job!!! It was my first time getting Gel-X done and she was incredibly patient, thorough and even helped to get the color combo I was looking for just right. She even helped to match my toes since the polish was slightly different. To me she went above and beyond. My nails felt extra beautiful at my wedding and I am so thankful for her work! Not to mention the salon is extremely calm, comfortable, and a positive overall atmosphere. I can't recommend this place enough & plan to come back here as my go-to nail spot in the Roscoe Village neighborhood!!

    Great mani by Michelle
    Nicole P.

Was in need of a speedy mani on a time crunch and was so glad to find this spot, Michelle understood the mission and killed it. One of the best manicures and while I opted out the massage and hot towel because of time, she did an excellent job without feeling like she was rushing, highly recommend and I will definitely be back. Nice clean place with a good selection of polishes and while I just needed a standard mani they do all the manis!

This review is for both locations, Ravenswood and Roscoe Village. I went to Ravenswood a few weeks ago for a pre-Christmas mani. I read here and saw on their website and their Instagram that they do chrome nails, which I've been wanting for a while. The Ravenswood location told me that they only do chrome at the RV location. I went to the RV location today and was told that no, they do not do chrome, they have in the past but that it "didn't look good" so they stopped. Disappointing, and their Insta, company website, and Yelp photos are misleading. At other salons I've been given a questionnaire about COVID-19 symptoms before the mani, neither Nail Junkie location did that. That said, they were pleasant enough and my Christmas mani was gorg and lasted three weeks.

I think I've died and landed in nail salon heaven. I was across the street at the Spa (Katie Marie Skin Care & Wax Boutique - highly recommend, check out my review) and decided to come in for a quick manicure. The lady at the register, despite all other reviews, was actually pretty nice. When I asked her if they take walks-in, she checked the schedule and was able to fit me in immediately. If you check-in on yelp, you get the first time client discount and if you're not an active yelp user, just make sure you mention that you are a new client before service starts. Soko did my regular manicure the first time here. Believe it or not, it lasted almost two weeks without chipping. I knew right then and there that this is the place to go to for a no-chip manicure. I've done two no-chip manicures so far and I've been extremely satisfied with both. They both lasted about 4.5 weeks without any chips. The only reason why I came back to get another was because my nails grew out. They also offer a 2 week insurance/guarantee period in which they would fix your chipped nail free of charge. The regular pedicures also last for a long time, but to be honest, they're not the best. They don't scrub as much as they should, so if you're looking for a pedicure to take care of callus and dead skin, this wouldn't be the best place to get it at. The salon itself is clean, all tools are sanitized and they have a range of nail polish colors (regular and no chip) to choose from. Highly recommend!

This place offers more of a McDonalds fast food kind of experience. Tip: don't take their last appointment of the day. They won't tell you this when you book but they will rush the whole process. I asked for a Spa package and they said they can't do it because they 'don't have time for it'. Well maybe they should have said that when I made the appointment or specify the duration on their website. Btw turns out their website domain is up for sale so they don't have a place that shows the different packages except for the stick on menu on a wall in the salon. I have been to this place a few times before too, never anything spectacular but this time was just super disappointing.

Feeling safe in the time of COVID. I have been coming to Nail Junkie for almost two years. They have been the best no chip specialist I've been to so far. Some salons have one person that does it best. Here, anyone that takes care of you is great. I just went a week ago, the first time since the pandemic hit. I was comfortable going because even before they were super sanitary. Of course you must have a face mask at all times. Second as soon as you walk in you have to wash your hands. Spacing is ample. The tables have been separated to allow 6 ft distance. There is plexiglas high and wide that only allows your hands to go through. The ladies wear gloves as they give your hands and feet. They always have. My nails as you see in the picture are from the time of this post one week old.

I'm late in posting but this place is sooo good! They are really accommodating booking appointments. I get regular pedicures and no chip manicures here and they last way longer than other places in the area. Ann did awesome nail art for me last time - she knew the colors I wanted and just dreamed up the design herself while I was there. 10/10 will always go back

I've enjoyed my no chip manis here, including a modified French mani I saw another reviewer post on Yelp. In addition to great service and very reasonable pricing, I enjoy the music and Netflix on the TV. My first mani lasted 2+ weeks and I suspect the next one will as well! Will be returning for more.

Scheduling was quick and easy. Appointment started right on time. Shop is clean and bright. Showed several references, discussed options. Stellar manicure and phenomenal hand painted details. Overall a wonderful shop!

Booked a same day appt on a Friday evening! Washed my hands upon entering. Everyone was spaced out and wearing masks and the nail tech and I were separated by plexi glass. She took her time and made sure I agreed with everything she was doing. Great place !

    Nails by Yui

I'm so happy with my nails by Yui! My mom has been going to her on a regular basis over the last year, so I made a visit for myself! My moms right side shakes uncontrollably and Yui has been so incredibly patient with my mama. (Thank you, Yui!) I live in San Diego and I have not found anyone as talented and professional as Yui. She cleanses nails thoroughly and is a perfectionist when it comes to nail art. This photo is from last month. If you're looking for GORGEOUS nails, this is your girl. Facility following strict covid policies, I felt comfortable and safe during my visit in October.

Matte purple gel nails by Muugii
    Sam D.

Simply put, Nail Junkie is fantastic. Avka gets a lot of love on here but I wanted to make sure Muugii (hope I'm spelling his name correctly), gets some, too! I travel farrrrrrrr via public transit (I live south side) to the Belmont location, but it's totally worth it! Muugii does a wonderful job on my nails. I have a gel full set and my nails have looked natural since the beginning. Nail Junkie uses REAL gel and not that powder liquid ghetto acrylic crap most salons use that they call gel even though it's not. Also, all nail filing done here is by hand and NOT with a drill. Because of this, appointments tend to take more time but it's better for your nails. I wish I took a photo of my nails before I got them redone this go around, but I had a no chip for approx. 4 1/2 weeks and not one chip, peel or broken nail even after tons of regrowth. I am very impressed! I get my gel done a little thicker than standard because I'm ROUGH on my hands and they still look natural and not bulky. Their customer service is wonderful, too. They will try their hardest to accommodate all walk-ins. I have seen quite a few demanding folks walk in there wanting an appointment right NOW) and the staff will play it cool and try to fit them in. Kudos! I will be a customer here for a long time! Woop woop!

We each got our nails done and honestly if the experience was like this back home I'd get my nails done way more often! The nail techs were ready for us when we got there even on Christmas Eve Eve. My mom was seated first, then me 3 minutes later then my SIL 2 minutes after me. I'm not chatty at all when I get these services done and I loved the way my tech was on that wave too. Mom and SIL love to talk and were deep in convo with their techs. The manicure itself was thorough - my insolent cuticles were tamed and removed with ease - and the polish job itself was great. I mostly avoid manicures because I chip the polish in 24 hours but here we are 5 days later and my fingers still look like shiny disco balls. Why I would return: -comfortable seating at the nail tables. Sturdy with room for ample bottoms -friendly and efficient service. There is NO NEED to be at a nail salon for hours. We were out in 45 min max including dry time. -welcoming reception. I love seeing my people when I'm out and she was very warm and inviting. So much so when I told people where we went to get our nails done they asked if she was working. -good job on the polish. Clean lines, no smudge, long/lasting. -NO CHEMICAL SMELLS. From a customer side this was nice - I'm sure from an employee side it's even better. -Super clean and modern. Sometimes nail shops can be worn down. It's clear this place is investing in the space - which makes a nicer work environment and experience for all.

Appointments: They are an incredibly busy nail salon, so I highly recommend making an appointment if you're thinking about getting a service done. They do take walk-ins, but you may have to wait. Service: I have now been to You & Co 4 times. Interestingly, I have learned that my experience differs quite a bit depending on the tech I get. The first time I visited was in the summer because I had a gift certificate. Sadly, my first time was not a great experience. I told the tech that I had ingrown toe nails. She did take care of it, but within a day, my toenail was infected, was painful, and had pus coming out. I almost didn't return. Then, when my salon closed, I decided to give You & Co another shot, since they have overwhelmingly positive reviews, and my first experience could have been a fluke. I wish I got the name of my nail tech for this second one because she did such an incredible job. My gel mani and pedicure were meticulously done, and my no-chip lasted for over 3 weeks. The third time, I had a guy, who was also meticulous. However, he recommended no more than 2 coats on my gel manicure. I get the reasoning so that my nails don't look thick, but unfortunately, my nails started chipping in less than a week. My pedicure lasted for over a month though! The last time I went in December, they were really informative in helping me with some fun holiday nails. I opted for the cat eye nail polish, which I loved. What I generally appreciate about You & Co is that they are quick but mostly detail-oriented. If you're busy, this is great.

I called them to let them know and they apologized and told me to come back. They had the same nail tech redo my nails, except I opted in to pay for no chip because I didn't trust the dazzle. They wrote off the $5 up charge which was nice. The tech asked me if I do house work. It hadn't even been 24 hours yet. What does that even matter? Last time I got dazzle they lasted so long. I thought getting the no chip was the move until my nails started chipping on Monday. Less than 3 days later. Come onnnnn!!! I'm super over it, I don't have time to drive the 30 min to re do them again. I'm going on vacation with chipped nails which is annoying as heck! I never had a Russian manicure before but was willing to try it out. She paired me with two technicians. Adele who did the manicure and Jamal who did the artwork. Russian manicures are high quality focusing on cuticle deep cleaning which can extend manicure wear. In fact, all of the work is dry application meaning your nails never get soaked in chemical solution. Total work with the artwork took 4 hours to complete with longer lasting results versus a traditional gel extensions. I kept my manicure over 3 weeks before seeing outgrowth and even then they still looked great! When it came time for removal they used a fine drill bit (no soaking was involved). I left with my natural nail intact with the nail bed feeling healthier than ever. Adele did a great job on my nails. She was gentle, patient and really took the quality of her work seriously. Jamal is a trained nail artist who does a good job with her nail art whether it's freestyle or replicating a design. The facilities are modern and clean with comfortable seating. Their pedicure chairs have customizable massage functions making your session a relaxing experience. I rarely get my nails done.
