My friend recommended this place as a regular nail place for us and it's the absolute best! I don't usually get my nails done and I don't live close to here so it's definitely worth the drive! Booking - call ahead to make a reservation. I've only gone in the morning and it made the transition from my car into the nail chair so seamless! Service - excellent ladies that work here. They don't try to make small talk to you don't I'm totally okay with that. My friends and I get pretty loud taking haha I look forward to coming again! I only get regular pedis and my current set is lasting me 3 weeks already as I'm writing this post. read more

Spent $65 TWO days ago... a nail just fell off and honestly the service I received was terrible. I was going to let it go but the pictures don't even do justice, the last few pictures are of the inside of my nails being right after I left the salon. My cuticles are still awful and the lady nicked a couple of fingers leaving me bleeding without saying sorry. Each hand she did something different - I noticed the first set of my GELX was filed down for the glue- which is how it should be... the other hand was not which is probably why my nail just fell off. I just had an amazing experience with Nancy and Linda at this salon! Got "the works" - mani/pedi with callous removal, parrafin wax, foot and leg scrub and 10 minute massages up and down (including neck and shoulders) for an unbelievably reasonable price. These ladies are dedicated to providing a great service and were delightful to be with! Couldn't recommend them more! read more

Here's a third review from me....Nancy who has been doing my nails now for several months (because Michelle moved out of state) and has proven to be a fantastic replacement!!! She is a perfectionist just like all the nail technicians that I wind up working with long-term and multi-talented with the ever-popular acrylic nails and now the GelX advanced technique of applying nails. What I also found out this year is how fabulous she is at custom and copying nail art from photos. Nancy is so warm, friendly, funny, adorable and I feel like I've known her forever. I am so happy that she wound up taking over for my outstanding Michelle because I don't know that anyone else could have measured up to her quality, perfectionism and personality. Tammy, who masterfully does my pedicures, is so good at what she does that she stands out from the rest of any other nail technician that has ever given me a pedicure in my past. She will go above and beyond to care for your feet to a point that I AM TIRED watching her work so hard and yet you'll never know it because she is so warm and friendly and cares about you as a person as well as your tootsies. However, I have known Tammy for well over a decade and it is her soul and who she is as a person that makes the moments with her more special. But I'm thinking that the wonderful staff also has something to do with Daniel, who runs the place everyday-all day. He is extremely professional and works with me to get me the best available appointment to meet my needs everytime. He helps out and gets involved when needed and his smile lights up the spa! He treats the staff while I'm there with dignity and not just as a boss but as part of the team. The environment of the Spa is clean and comfortable and sometimes I'll sit back and watch one of the TVs on the wall, stream a show on my phone with earbuds or enjoy a fun chat with Nancy. The comfortable spa massage and table chairs allow me to relax while my nails or toes (or both) are being done. Nail Lab & Spa consistently proves to be a positive and pleasant experience and Nancy is a top-notch super multi-talented nail technician and Tammy is a master of her craft... all of which I am blessed to be able to work with. I started coming to Nail Lab when we moved "up the hill" to Costa Mesa (from Huntington Beach) and they've been great! I don't do anything real special- simple spa pedicure... but the owner/manager is a sweet man and always feels bad if they're too busy to take me right away as a walk-in! The technicians are sweet and I never get the vibe they're trash talking customers like I have at some places. They're generally pretty quiet actually. They also play great music (usually). read more

I came in near closing, I requested a dip French tip and the kindly accommodated even though though there was only 30 minutes till they closed. They sat me down and got my nails soaking while Nancy finished up with a client and then moved over to me. Nancy gave me exactly what I wanted, she was helpful with picking colors, and fun to chat with! Overall, good quality and good service! The only thing I would note is there wasn't much time spent in my cuticles, they weren't pushed back or cleaned. Since they stayed for me past closing I still will give fhe 5 stars, but it is something I noticed and I paid full price so it was something I paid for. read more

By far my favorite nail salon in CM! The whole staff is friendly, kind, attentive to details and ensure you have a pleasant experience. I have been getting my nails done by Nancy here for 5 years now. She's amazing! Her work is always high quality and never got disappointed before. She's good at keeping up the trend and has new stuff every time I visit there now. So I always get whatever she recommends each time. I normally grt dipping powder and cat eye or chrome on top, but they last for full 3 weeks and don't chip much though I hand wash dishes every night and type on my laptop every day. I think it could last longer but I just can't stand long nails so I come get my nails done every 3 weeks. Highly recommended! Needed to get my nails done in prep for the new year so I found Nails Lab. Got my acrylics removed today and Hannah did a really nice job taking them off with the most least pain possible. No acetone soak at all. I got them redone with dip powder and they do it with no UV light which is great. Very clean shop. They have a great color collection I love how it's organized by shades so you have all your reds, pinks, whites, greens etc. together. I also got a gel pedi by Kim she was careful and sweet. Owner was nice and funny. Overall would recommend Nails Lab & Spa. They take card which is a plus! read more

A few folks on Costa Mesa buzz suggested this salon so I gave it a go. I chose package #3 - $75 - $20 more for gel, plus tip. I wanted to go with a pink polish on my toes, however, I was asked if I wanted gel instead of polish 3 separate times because "polish will chip in 2 days". She also asked me which color I wanted on my toes 3 separate times even though I had picked my color already, and then ended up selecting a color for me. I'm happy with the overall results of the pedicure but the process itself was a bit stressful. Payment - I paid with card and tipped cash and was told "next time pay with cash". Overall, I was happy with the end results and the speed and availability, but there are some things service-wise that could be improved upon.

I reached out to see if they could help resolve it, but was told they wouldn't redo the service without charging again. That was disappointing, especially given the short wear time. It's a cute spot with a great concept, but if long-lasting results are important to you, that's something to keep in mind before booking an appointment here.
