The women's soaking pools are also spacious. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. The jjimjilbang rooms were noticeably cooler than I remembered. Most of them were barely warm enough to make me sweat, and even the hottest room didn't feel hot at all. At first, I assumed something was malfunctioning, which I would have completely understood. However, I asked the front desk and was told that these are going to be their regular temperatures moving forward because they had been cited by the health department for the rooms being too hot. I understand that they have to comply with health department requirements, but for someone who specifically comes here for the traditional Korean sauna experience, this completely changes the experience for me. If I'm going to a sauna, I expect to sweat. The LA weather outside honestly feels hotter than some of the sauna rooms now. It's unfortunate because iSpa used to be worth the hour-plus drive for me, and I genuinely loved coming here. The atmosphere is still beautiful and unique, but without the heat I expect from a Korean sauna, I don't think I'll be making the drive back.

Having booked the service, we were allowed to utilize the amenities located in the spa. In order to get to the spa (if you're not staying in the hotel), you had to drive into the front entrance of the hotel. This is located on the side opposite of PCH. The only real option to park is through valet service which the spa takes care of as part of the cost of the service. Our massages were booked for 2pm but we arrived around 11:30am to have lunch and enjoy the amenities. The food was pretty good and the servings were plentiful. We got a chicken Cesar wrap and the charcuterie board. You're able to eat and have the food brought over just like you were ordering room service, it was definitely room service cost and they charged for delivery to the garden. After we finished eating, we lounged in the garden to catch some sun. This is the part where I say that it almost fit the bill... the weather loved tents providing shade had mold on the canvas. Maybe it was just weather warn because it does stay outside all year round? Not sure but I'm thinking that it definitely looked like mold to me. After the sun, we enjoyed the indoor amenities of steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. For me, there a few other patrons enjoying the amenities but my boyfriend said that he pretty much had the men's locker room all to himself. My favorite part about the amenities was the shower. The shower had a rainfall shower, a handheld shower and then several steam shower heads on three of the walls. The products in the shower smelled great and I would definitely use them again. For our massages, we have the couples suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous complete with 2 massage tables, 2 sinks, a gorgeous tub, 2 separate showers this beautiful stone piece on the far wall. Massages were great and relaxing. After the massages, our massage therapists led us out to the garden again to pretty much recover from the service and it was definitely needed. Upon checking it out from our service, we perused the gift shop. There were cute clothing pieces there as well as the products that were utilized as part of some of the services. When paying, they let us know that the gratuity was already covered in the cost so that was nice. Given the cost for each service, I thought it was a generous but also fair tip. Because we finished late afternoon, we decided to walk down to the pier and venture around there. We were able to keep the car there and the hotel bellman allowed us to store our gym bags in the hotel as well, all at no extra cost. If I was looking to splurge again, I would probably come back. What would sweeten the deal is if we were able to use the hotel pool too but they said that it is only allowed during the weekdays when the pool isn't too busy.

I recently had another amazing experience at The Best Nails & Spa. The service provided by Stacy and her staff is truly superb. Stacy, in particular, goes above and beyond to ensure that I am taken care of and satisfied with my experience. She even spoils my kids whenever they accompany me, which is a wonderful touch. As someone who used to work as a manicurist and is a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my nails, I appreciate Stacy's patience and attention to detail. She always puts my needs first and if there's a specific design I want that she can't do herself, she arranges for someone else to take care of it for me. What sets The Best Nails & Spa apart is the warm and inclusive atmosphere created by Stacy. She makes everyone feel loved and included, and I've observed this with other customers as well. In fact, she affectionately calls me her good luck charm, which always brings a smile to my face. During my last visit, Stacy was unavailable, so Tammy took care of me. To my surprise, I had never noticed that Tammy had been working there all this time, since I usually go to Stacy. However, she did an excellent job and left me completely satisfied. When it comes to my pedicure, Amy seems to be the go-to person, and I have no complaints about her work either. One piece of advice I would offer is to call and book an appointment before visiting The Best Nails & Spa. They truly value their appointments and will even wait for you if you're running late. However, if you show up as a walk-in and the salon is busy, you may have to wait for a little while. So, it's always best to plan ahead and secure your spot. I want to extend my gratitude to Stacy and her entire staff for consistently taking care of me and providing such exceptional service. I usually just do my own mani pedi but I saw a great deal on Groupon so I figured I'd pamper myself because I have some upcoming weddings to attend. Making a same-day appointment (for a Friday evening!) was a breeze (appt is required to redeem Groupon). Last minute I dragged my sister and when we arrived, it was pretty empty for a Friday. Nice spa chairs that look clean. We weren't offered tea or water, but thats a non-issue. They have a moderately good selection of colors/brands (mainly China Glaze, some DND and a few other brands I'm not familiar with). We were quickly able to find colors we liked for mani and pedi. I quickly got my mani while the foot spa was going and Cindy was working on my feet. I'm not sure of the tech's name that gave me my mani. She was not particularly welcoming or talkative like I saw Kim and Michael who were treating my sister to her gel mani and regular pedi. My sister's team (Kim/Michael) were great! They were so friendly, funny, and very accommodating to her (she had a recent shoulder injury so she couldn't extend her arms out that much for mani). Maybe I didn't get that pamper treatment because I had a Groupon? lol oh well. Cindy, who did my pedi was so sweet and did a great job! She was trying to talk me up and also upsell me haha. Price was very reasonable for me with the Groupon and my sister got 10% off her $47 (gel mani/regular pedi) service with yelp check in. Unfortunately my nails have already chipped (1 day after appointment) so thats a bummer. I don't do any crazy work with my hands so not sure why that happened. Toes are looking clean and pretty! I'd come back here, service was overall pretty good and prices are fair. read more

Honestly tried my all with this salon and tried to have patience and support a local business. This is the third time my acrylic set falls off after 4/5 days. The business owner needs to be more professional when speaking to staff especially in front of customers. a couple weeks ago the owner rudely snapped at the nail tech telling her to shut up in front of customers and was aggressive for no reason. Salons are meant to be peaceful and relaxing. When I went this past saturday i booked an appt with mary who was known for her designs, i wanted a simple butterfly on two fingers and she denied me pleading she didn't do designs, when her coworkers and reviews below all stated she does all these designs. Either she judged me or she was being lazy, don't take appointments if you're not up to working. Had to come up with different colors since they were out of half of their collection. I was passed to Cindy who I asked for long nails and ended up with short, blotchy, crooked nails. I thought to myself you know what maybe they had a tough day. $60 and 3 days later 4 of my acrylic nails have popped off like cheap press ons. not even rip or break in half they literally popped off like press ons from dollar tree. Went to a new salon today and they were horrified at the quality and shabiness of whatever was left on my nails. Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere! read more

Hands-down the best nail salon around. My recent visit was truly amazing from start to finish! I booked a gel manicure with Cindy, and she was absolutely phenomenal. First off, the salon is very clean. Everything from the seats to the stations feels clean and hygienic. The tools are always sanitized, which is very important to me. The décor is nice and gives off a relaxing vibe. Cindy started by meticulously shaping my nails just how I like them--short and slightly rounded--while being gentle with my cuticles. She then helped me pick the perfect polish color from their huge selection. I loved how she ensured each coat went on smoothly and evenly, with no streaks or bubbles at all. What really stood out was Cindy's attention to detail. She checked in on me multiple times, made sure I was comfortable, and never rushed through any step. I got a lovely red sparkly fade and my friend got a coquette pink theme. Cindy did my nails and they are stunning, I liked the vibe of music videos and everyone is so kind in the salon. We came in the day after new years and the place was decorated beautifully. I really wanted to like this salon, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing…read more When I made my appointment, we specifically requested two technicians--one for my manicure and one for my pedicure--because we were on a tight schedule. We were assured that wouldn't be a problem and were told another technician would be back from lunch shortly. That person never came back, so I ended up waiting until another technician finished someone else's pedicure before she could start mine, which defeated the purpose of booking both services at the same time. During my manicure, the owner (or manager) seemed to be rushing through the service. When I politely pointed out a few issues with the shape and some imperfections, she didn't seem happy about the feedback, which made the experience uncomfortable. As a paying customer, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect attention to detail, especially when getting acrylic tips, builder gel, and gel polish. To make matters worse, it's only been one week and one of my nails has already chipped. With the services I paid for, I expected my manicure to last much longer than that. Overall, I left disappointed with both the service and the quality of the work. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this nail salon.

I made an appointment to have a mani/pedi after she finished my finger nails she went to go do a walk-in customer and came back to me 35 minutes later to do my toes, even though I had an appointment. No Bueno! The ladies aren't friendly and the bathroom was dirty. Won't be back!

I called today and made an appointment for 2:45pm for two pedicures. We walked in at 2:40pm at the same time as a woman who did not have an appointment who just needed a "quick pedicure". They took her and at 3pm while the person I'm with is halfway thru their appointment I still do not have water in my bowl and they took the walk in before me. I pointed out to the ladies that this was happening and they literally just ignored me and didn't say anything. I'm incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service. I drove here from Huntington Beach twice in the last two days and this is really unacceptable to treat customers this way. I really hope the owner of this business reaches out and corrects this. I not only have been coming here for a while now, I've also purchased gift cards and referred people here. I won't be doing so in the future.
