When you hear the tagline: Pakistani meets Mexican food, you expect an explosion of creation and flavor, but sadly this place isn't as innovative. I will give it a pure 4-star rating for the hole-in-the-wall Pakistani food and for the sweet family that owns it. The combinations of pakistani/mexican food aren't as good in flavor. This is my go-to place to grab a samosa on rainy days to dip it into that Maggi hot sauce (ifykyk). I also recommend the Chicken Botti (well cooked on the tandoor and available at any time of day) and naan +/- biryani. The prices are reasonable and the staff/family is so sweet and friendly. Bonus points if you can speak Hindi with the Uncle.

This place was recommended by multiple people for authentic Pakistani food. I decided to try it out via UberEats. I ordered Chicken Botti, Chicken Biryani, and Beef Nihari. As a Pakistani myself, I definitely questioned the food when I saw the Nihari came with a side RICE and I had to order a Naan separately. Very odd. Eat your Nihari with Naan..not rice! Please owners..if you're reading this.. beef Nihari with side naan not rice. Other than that, the food was great. Probably the best desi food available in the Boston area. The biryani came with Raita that they call Nachlo sauce. The botti spice level can go up a couple of notches. Will definitely be back!

A small restaurant! Don't be fooled by how it is when you walk in. First impressions are less than ideal, until your food arrives. Their goat biryani came highly recommended, and it was excellent. Their seekh kababs and chapli kababs were above average (we settled for chicken, because they were out of beef). Their halwa was great, but they were out of poori's. They need to fix the seating area inside and also the overall look of the restaurant a bit, because their food and service are both outstanding. Sweet and courteous owners. Fast service. Reasonably priced.

Continues to be one of my most favorite Pakistani restaurants in Boston! Great taste every time! They now deliver through Uber eats and DoorDash which has allowed me to try almost everything on their menu- and I can say, everything is heavenly! Uncle also does chargha on some weekends. It's best to call and find out when he's making it, you can then place an order online or over the phone and have it delivered/pick up

I am so happy to have found this place. My parents and I stopped in on our way home from an out of town excursion. We heard about Nachlo and were intrigued. From the moment we walked in until the moment we finished our food, we were pleased. The aroma in the restaurant was perfect and I knew the food was going to be good. There is a special smell when Desi food is made right. We spoke with the owner who was happily making dishes along side a couple of other men who were working. One of those other men recognized us from another restaurant that we occasionally pick up kebabs from. That place also makes delicious food. We knew that if he worked there previously, this food was going to be delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes from chicken biriyani to seekh kebab, chapli kebab, chicken tikka, lamb barbacoa quesadilla, naan, and paratha. All of it was excellent. Spicy and delicious! The heat level was quite high. We were wondering how our firangi friends could handle this level of spice. It was so good. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. The food is a treat for your tastebuds. Everything was good, but the lamb barbacoa quesadilla was my favorite. The way that the meat is spiced is so good. I want more of this. I will happily go back to Nachlo. My parents will as well. We don't normally eat Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food from a restaurant because we cook it at home. Nachlo is a nice option to have. Please support this business. I want to see them do well.

The lamb barbacoa burrito is phenomenal! The place overall is very good, will be returning to try the rest of the menu. Staff is very courteous with great service.

Fantastic spot hidden away with a very unique menu. I've gotten delivery a few times and went in for a sit down meal. It's a very hole in the wall vibe and no frills at all. The food is out of this work though. We got the chicken biryani, a chicken curry, samosas and naan. Everything was flavorful, fresh and timely. I'd love to go back and try the Mexican food which I'm sure will be amazing as well.

Had the chicken & rice with pesto sauce. It was delicious!!! Highly Recommend

I would recommend calling beforehand to ask about the wait. Although we commuted from Cambridge, this meal was worth it. For two people, we got: - Black Seed Cornbread: it's soft, sweet yet savory. I've never had cornbread like this, and the first bite into this was unforgettable. You must get this. - Honey Nut Hummus: this was honestly fine and I'd probably try a different dip next time. - Warm Gyro bread: well seasoned and great to share between two. I normally don't like gyro but I enjoyed this. - Lamb al pastor: this was a favorite. It was sweet and the lamb was tender. We were really impressed with the sauce. - Brussel sprout bravas: this was okay. I liked the crunchy nuts and the star of this dish was once again the sauce/seasoning rather than the brussel sprouts. With all of these dishes, we ordered enough for two, with a few bites leftover. If you have a smaller appetite, you could get away with ordering a plate less. Overall, I loved the dining experience here. Even though I'm not typically a small plates mediterranean person, I appreciated Sarma - from its beautiful interior space and open kitchen concept, to the liveliness of the restaurant on a random weekday night. Definitely come here if you're in the area (or even if you're not!)

The food was overly salty, and the portions were very small.... even for tapas style dining. The flavor profiles just weren't there. The only thing that I would say tasted good was the cornbread and lamb skewer (which was definitely overpriced still). The cornbread was impressive and the ingredients made for a unique flavor. Service was also underwhelming. While the staff did their job, there wasn't much warmth or attentiveness and we didn't feel welcomed. We left feeling pretty disappointed given the hype and effort it took to get a reservation.

Both were delicious, as was the homemade pita that came with the stew. Lots of food - probably could've shared one entree between the two of us. I came here for lunch and ordered the foul al-shams, chicken vegetable stew, and a side of rice. Unfortunately the stew appeared without chicken and foul al-shams was so delayed that we told them to cancel it. The chicken vegetable stew was piping hot and full of flavor. The shredded chicken was tender and the stew did not feel too heavy to feel bogged down. The bread that came with it was also big and crisp but still soft inside. Together the two made a complementary meal that was satisfying. Despite how hard it was to track down our waiter, we still enjoyed the part of the meal we had. The upstairs definitely feels like the waiters are more on top of it and there is a more airy ambiance. The downstairs wasnt the most ideal and while good for big groups, youre still very aware of dining in a basement.

Fatteh: The presentation was beautiful, with a delightful array of layers. Between two layers of crispy chips laid the chewy texture of fried mushrooms, the sweetness of cauliflower, the nutty aroma of pine nuts, and the refreshing sweet and sour taste of yogurt--a random combination that offered a different experience with every bite. The cauliflower, in particular, was crisp yet not tough, with a naturally gentle sweetness--a first for me. However, towards the end, the crispy chips became very slightly oily. Sultan's Delight: Perfect as a main course. The beef was stewed to perfection, incredibly tender and flavorful, almost falling apart the moment it touched the knife. It required absolutely no effort, reminiscent of a master butcher skillfully carving up an ox in Zhuangzi莊子, who kept his knife like new over nineteen years. The tamarind brought a slightly fermented, tangy aroma, while the smoked eggplant puree, likely babaganoush, was smooth and creamy with a mild, pleasant smokiness. The lemon juice, however, adds a refreshing touch, creating an interesting layering of acidity. It looked small, but it was surprisingly satisfying. The only downsides were the beef was slightly over-salty and the basil leaves, which seem to serve only a decorative purpose. Baked Alaska: A signature dessert, very popular on social media. Frankly, I came specifically for this, but after eating it, all I can say is, "Who's promoting this?"... The presentation was truly stunning, and the first few bites were quite good. The meringue was was torched to create a thin, burnt crust, resulting in a delicate and light texture, while the coconut ice cream blended with the bitter aroma of coffee. However, the base, a nut tart similar to a five-nut mooncake五仁月餅 filling, was too dense and heavy; the passion fruit syrup was excessively sweet and acidic, even a small amount was cloying, making it a torture by the end. The restaurant tables were a bit uneven and hopefully they will be repaired soon.
