This spot has been on my list for a while as I've been on the hunt for good ganjang gejang in the city, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. I stopped by for a late lunch on a Monday and was seated immediately. Along with the ganjang gejang, we ordered the galbi tang and haemul pajeon. The galbi tang was incredibly comforting and delicious--the broth was rich, well-seasoned, and packed with tender short ribs and glass noodles. The haemul pajeon was perfectly crispy and loaded with seafood. As for the ganjang gejang, the flavor was outstanding, with plenty of roe and sweet, fresh meat that paired wonderfully with the rice. I also appreciated that they offered purple rice as an option. Honorable mentions to the potato and cucumber banchan--they were so addictive. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, and the overall vibe of the place felt cozy and welcoming.
This underrated Korean restaurant is located in Flushing! The reason I found this place during our NYC trip was to try their raw marinated crab. It wasn't busy as we got seated right away. Cozy once you're inside and they have a wooden interior for their tables/chairs. $27 for 3 raw marinated crab! I was surprised because usually, that would be the price of one from the Bay Area. It came with great side dishes and seaweed soup to rinse your tastebuds. You have an option to choose white or purple rice. I was full after finishing one order of the soy raw marinated crab. The eggs were delicious (umami) and the meat was packed. Great quality!
Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner and the place was moderately busy with about half tables busy and the other free. Service was slow due to there only being one server so it took a bit to get our order in, but she was obviously doing her best so it seemed just like a lack of staff issue. The menu had a good selection of traditional Korean affair. My friend and I shared a few things, but I personally came just for the raw crab. It was okay, not spectacular but it did satisfy the craving. Everything else was good in portion and taste - it all definitely was very solid. Overall, I don't know if I would come back, but I thought the food was good. Nothing stood out, but I enjoyed the meal and thought it was a good experience!
I came in with the sole purpose of having the spicy raw marinated crab and I was not disappointed! This hole in the wall spot exceeded my expectations with the delicious food and the amazing service! I was there on a rainy weekday but the place was still pretty busy with mostly locals and the vibes were very comfortable and homey. I tried the marinated crab and the bulgogi and both tasted very flavorful and fresh! Literally loved every bite!
Interesting soy sauce cold crab, spicy pork pairs well with the vegetable bibimbap. Galbi tan (non spicy soup) was good too and seafood pancake was ok, better with the sauce. There's a really strong smell when you walk in and not that many seats, pretty packed when I came over on the weekend for lunch Saturday. Good portion for 4 people. More like 3.5 stars and bumping it up to 4 since other people in my group like it.
We traveled 1.5 hr to come here for a Saturday lunch. I was shocked by how it wasn't busy - but hey, no wait for me I'll take it :D Myung San gives off a homey vibe. It doesn't have any insane interior decoration or plating, but who needs that when the flavors for everything is ON POINT. Our party of two ordered Someori Gukbap and soy marinated raw crabs, and it was perfect for two people. - Banchan: super tasty and full of variety! - Soy marinated raw crabs: super flavorful and a good amount for the cost! - Someori Gukbap: this is perhaps one of the best soup I've had for awhile. Super rich, super flavorful, and very meaty Overall, despite the long travel I still find it incredibly worth it. I would come back for all of these dishes again any day anytime.
This homey Korean restaurant has a variety of items on their menu. We got seated pretty quickly and waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered the soy marinated crab and the pork belly and intestines for kbbq. They cooked the pork belly and intestines for us which was nice since we didn't need to manage that ourselves. The pork belly was tender and crispy. The intestines were also delicious. I enjoyed the soy marinated crab but def want to come back and try the spicy version. And of course there was so much banchan all of which were delish and perfect with all the food.
Service was great. Small place and only like 7-8 tables but not too crowded. I would definately say come early if you are coming for dinner. We came here mainly for the raw marinated crabs. We definitely didn't come during crab season so it didn't look too meaty but the quality and flavor was good. There was more than enough food for all of us after ordering two orders of intestines and it was pretty tasty. read more
Food: The food is delicious here! We came here specifically for the soy marinated crabs, and they were amazing. Crabs were extremely fresh and filled with roe. They were very salty from the marinade but still enjoyable with rice. We also tried the seafood pancake and stir-fried spicy pork. Both dishes were great. I would recommend everything that we ordered. Once you order, they bring out the banchan - marinated spinach, potatoes, kimchi, bean sprouts, marinated fish and peppers. All of the dishes other customers were ordering also looked really good; I can't wait to come back here! Service: Service was phenomenal. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and made sure everything was okay throughout the meal. They are constantly circling around to see if anything is needed. This looks like a small family business, and they were grateful for our business. Ambiance: The restaurant is small but has tables for both small and large groups. It seems that they take reservations so I would recommend making one if you don't want to wait. The place filled up quickly during dinner time. There are only about seven tables in the restaurant. Seating is spacious and comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant! read more

It was open on 4th of July. There's street parking outside. It was full for lunch. We had the seafood pancake, LA kalbi, and spicy pork. Everything was delicious. The spice was a bit mild. They refilled our banchan. Service was nice. It felt like a mom and pop restaurant. read more

Went on a Thursday afternoon and there was no wait. I was craving for soy marinated crab and a friend recommended this place. I tried the soy marinated crab and enjoyed it. It was decently priced and they gave a good amount of crab! The crabs were a little salty but I'll be back to try the spicy marinated crab. read more
If you are looking for raw crabs, this spot is it! Amazing dish and fairly priced for what it is. I personally like their soy sauce crab over the spicy one but they are both good and worth the try! They have a lot of your standard Korean dishes from sundubu, to bibimpbap to bulgolgi as well. So if you are just craving traditional Korean, feel free to stop by as well! They seem to be short on staff so service maybe a bit slow but they try their best to serve you! read more
If you are coming here for their raw marinated crabs: Taste wise it was pretty good but their crabs are on the smaller side, so less meat for the price. I liked the marinated and soy crab equally and didnt feel like one was particularly better than the other. We also got the galbijim which was also on the smaller side portion wise which was disappointing considering its over $50. Their Bossam was delicious and would get again. We also got their tofu soup which I loved. The flavor was rich but not too heavy and complimented the other dishes well. Very different from your usual tofu soup from BCD. Bill came out to over $230 for 4 people and none of us were full but cane for the raw crab experience. Service was great, nothing to complain about there! read more
Been here twice and this place has officially become my go-to Korean food spot. The menu is extensive and each dish I have had has been solid. The side dishes are great (pan fried tofu is spectacular). The price is more reasonable than most restaurants within the area. I cannot wait to come back and try new things on the menu. My friend and I were craving raw crab and this spot was recommended first. I liked how they had an option of mixed, spicy and no spicy. The place was ok, only thing is the pork with lettuce wrap looked pretty boring and wasn't what we expected. The soup was also a little sour and didn't look right. read more
Came for the CRAB! They were out of the spicy one- seemed to happen to everyone lol is it still on the menu? Soy Marinated Crab - yum, sweet, fresh Grilled Eel - don't get tricked by the photo, it came half size of the photo and it was pretty tough to chew. For $33, I suggest you order something else. Belt Fish - pretty good very soft but almost too soft and flaky. The base was very salty. Ground Mud Fish Soup - wanted to try something unique but everyone hates it lol. You can taste the ground fish bone in the soup. Wish it wasn't ground, just mud fish. Beef Soup - very good! read more
*4.5/5 maybe Had an intense craving for raw marinated crab after seeing a million and one Tiktoks on the matter -- Myung San proved a worthy introduction to the dish. We went for the Yangyeom (spicy) version & ordered soondubu too & both of us walked away quite stuffed. Nice variety of tasty banchan. The soondubu was soft and delicious and had bits of seafood. The crab was a process to eat (they give you gloves and tools) & is piled high with spicy green onions -- these pair well with everything on the table and will make your nostrils burn. Service was friendly & most patrons were middle-aged/older Koreans, which automatically gives Myung San a stamp of approval. I would def return to try the soy sauce flavor, as I heard that lets the raw crab flavor shine thru. read more

Great restaurant! The crab was fresh! I also ordered the Haemul Kalguksoo, and it was do yummy with a nice noodle texture! The service was good, like any regular korean homestyle restaurant. I went at lunch time on a Sunday and it was decently busy but not overcrowded. read more

Randomly stumbled upon this small restaurant with a picture of raw marinated crabs that have become so popular on social media. The restaurant only has 6 tables and is located next to the Broadway LIRR station. I originally called to make a reservation for a table of 2 because I heard it gets packed but there were empty tables. Spicy Raw Marinated Crabs - This dish came with 3 blue crabs with a spicy and sweet sauce . They were so delicious and had lots of roe. The crabs themselves were fresh and sweet. Like most reviews mentioned, the crabs were on the smaller side but they were meaty. I mixed the rice in the head and it was so creamy. LA Yangyum Kalbi - The short ribs were nicely grilled but slightly dry. There were only 6-7 pieces. Not a dish to rave about. Daegu Maeuntang - This is a spicy dish with codfish, bean sprouts, spinach and tofu. I asked the waiter for mild but it was still spicy. The flavor was on point though. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. There was a lot of banchan such as tofu, eggplant, kimchi, sweet potatoes, spinach and bean sprouts. The service was excellent. There was only one man working and he was the server, waiter and cashier. He was super sweet and friendly. read more

Myung san was a pleasant surprise. Out of all korean places, the service of Myung San is the best. The crab meat was very good. For the first time eater, I enjoyed it a lot even though I don't know how to differentiate good from bad. My friend told me that crab provided was fresh as it did not have bitter taste. This place banchan was different. The spices and hot levels of each side dish were different. The bean sprouts were mild while lotus root was spicy. I enjoyed the varieties. Duck meat was lean as told by the employee was the healthy food. Gopchang was good quality too. For 2 people, we ordered too many dishes and decided to take seafood sujebi home. Next day the sujebi was still flavorful. The service was excellent . They let you take your time to enjoy the food read more

Great food and great local spot to have some raw marinated crab!! The army stew was superb as well and was the perfect portion for the 4 of us and we finished it all. Service was by a Korean Aunty and she was super warm and nice and attentive despite it being so busy. Definitely deserved the tip. Atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and it felt like I was in Korea! The only thing I wouldn't really recommend is the Bossam (pork belly with cabbage and oysters) because 3 of us had the oysters and we were bedridden sick with some sort of stomach virus for 2 weeks the moment we got home. Not sure if it was the oysters or not but theyre a pretty big suspect since we did not eat anything else that day. Other than that, everything else was amazing and would come back again for some more stew and crab on a cold day! read more

While searching for marinated crab near me, I came across Myang San! Conveniently located in Flushing, Queens. Just like most restaurants in the area, it is street parking The service was quick, efficient and hospitable. I ordered the soy marinated crab because the spicy marinated crab was not ready. I was delightfully surprised how much ban Chan came with the entree ( complimentary side dishes) They start you off with hot tea and the soup of the day. When I went it was the Kimchi soup ( SOOO GOOD!) I also ordered soju and several terra beer ( Korean beer) the crab, the sides and rice were super delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend this restaurant; the price was also very fair I visited in December 2022 read more

My only spot to go for raw marinated crab. I get this craving every few months and I come here every time for it since it is know as their specialty. Seems like a very legit place as all the people dining in are Korean families. The crab is so good and fresh ugh can go for some right now!!! read more
The soy raw crab was decent, though it needed to be supplemented with rice secondary to the textural difference from cooked crab. The galbi soup was refreshing and clean, not overly thick; the beef was quite tender. The pancake didn't have too much seafood but was fairly crisp. read more
