It's expensive ($34.99) for the Premium Angus beef, but the flavor is just so worth it. Service is fast and efficient. Located in the corner of a strip mall in Koreatown, it is very difficult to find street parking nearby, so I usually opt to pay $5 cash to do the valet parking in the parking lot of this strip mall. It's just faster and easier.

On our latest visit we took the Metro, exited at Wilshire/Normandie Station, and walked 8 minutes over. The restaurant seems to have updated their décor to a more modern and new look since my last visit. Also they have introduced a lot of new menu items, so it felt like an appropriate time to update my review and renew my support for the business. On prior visits I have tried both the Clam Kalguksu ($22.99) and the Chicken Kalguksu ($22.99). Both are delicious depending on what protein you are craving. The broth is incredible soothing and great for a cold day or just anytime you need comfort food. The noodles are chewy and pillowy soft, it just melts in your mouth. When we arrived on our latest visit it was as busy and popular as I remembered. We were lucky that they were able to seat us right away. This latest visit my boyfriend and I tried new items from their menu. My boyfriend had the Tokmanuguk ($20.99) which has rice cakes, dumplings, beef, egg, and carrot in their anchovy broth. I had the Chicken Jook ($23.99) which is the Korean version of a chicken porridge that comes with half a small chicken, green onions, garlic, toasted sesame seeds, squash, onions and topped off with a smidge of sesame oil. Our meals came with a little palette cleansing introduction of barley rice. Just a few bites, but it sets up your tastebuds for the meal. They also had some side dishes for the table. The food took a while to come out, but understandable for how busy they are. This food is made with love and your patience will be rewarded. When it came, it was SO DELICIOUS! I tried a bit of my boyfriend's food and it was so comforting. Perfect for those who like the chewiness of the Korean rice cakes or dumplings. I just love my chicken porridge a little more cause I'm obsessed with porridge whenever I can get it. I love how much vegetables Koreans are able to hide in their porridge while making the veggies so tiny, you won't even notice it. So healthy, delicious, and soothing. It was like a hug for my soul. Also, the portion was huge and both my boyfriend and I had a portion togo that was the size of another meal. You can't go wrong with their food here. I definitely want to make an effort to come back more often. Until next time!

The lighting was low so mad it feel very quaint. For starters we ordered crispy rice w/ spicy tuna. It was so perfect!! So delicious. An order of shrimp tempura. Fried to perfection. We also ordered garlic chicken noodles and minced pork rice bowl. Both were very delicious. Two orders of chicken wings. One with sweet & spicy other with soy garlic. I absolutely loved the wings. They were light and crispy. The sauces were so amazingly delicious. Can't wait to visit again and try new items on the menu.

The place has a social vibe while still separating tables for privacy and encouraging fun in your particular area. It looks like they have karaoke nights and there are a few screens playing K dramas in the background. Cons: the food. We went at 1 PM and the place was empty so I was super disappointed that each plate we received was not up to par. One of my friends did the shrimp dumpling, which was far too expensive to not have a solid prawn in the middle as most dim sum spaces do. Instead, the dumpling was filled with minced shrimp and it taste mostly of egg at that price point you expected to taste protein before filler. I had the minced pork and rice which was overwhelmingly, salty and inedible. Quite frankly I saved it for the next day to see if my husband who is assault fanatic would say anything and even she thought it was inedible. I believe they poured a half bottle of soy sauce and my protein alone. One of my friends had the kimchi fried rice and she said it was decent. Finally we had the Korean fried chicken which they refused to split flavors on, and I could respect that if it had been any busier. But with us being the only one seated it kind of didn't make sense. I wanted to get a feel of the flavors in general to see which I should order for the next time.. be warned the chicken is sweet! Not the sauce, but the chicken itself has been marinated in some type of cinnamon sugar recipe. That is not familiar to me when I think about Korean fried chicken. That day, my friends and I giggled that this place was not as authentic as we had experienced driving down to kTown. It definitely felt like a "valley" version of Korean food. We even discussed giving them the benefit of the doubt that this could be a difference regionally that we had not experienced before. All of my concerns were confirmed the next day when I reheated the food in an attempt to give it a second chance with a fresh pallet. None of the leftovers were even edible. Finally, nothing is more annoying than a server who claims that the bill cannot be split any other way, but 50/50. It's 2026 and all back end systems allow split bills. Once again, this is understandable during peak hours, but it would have benefited the server to take two more minutes to try to figure out his system. This should be part of your server training. It seems he had plenty of time to learn since the place was so empty and in fact, my friend and I joked that we would be happy to teach him as we are familiar with industry standards. That's not to seem cocky, but given your location in noho the majority of your guests have food service experience as struggling actors etc. This is not the type of review that I enjoy leaving, but in hopes that one less small business is shut down take note

We got the bulgogi bowl and the black pepper chicken bowl with extra protein, and a side of kimchi. The only thing I'd ask for next time is less sauce; it was drowning in it and it was a little sweet for my tastebuds as well. It's in a small mini mall, but somehow, we were able to find a parking space on a Saturday evening. The person working at the front was very friendly. Their phone/online orders were ringing off the hook! Will definitely be back and would like to try their korean fried chicken.

Delightful experience at this simple eatery!…read more The bulgogi salad had a good portion of bulgogi and it was very flavorful. Good cuts of meat and generous portions of vegetables for the salad. The spicy mayo chicken bowl was pretty spicy for me (I have a medium tolerance lol), and ordering kimchi on the side was a good idea! It definitely helped balance out the flavors! Also, the prices can't be beat! Each bowl/salad was around $12/$13. Not bad! Parking was a little tight, but manageable! And there were a few spots to sit inside as well. Definitely worth it to eat there if there's space available! All in all - a solid four stars! I wish the air conditioning was on, though the inside was still comfortable. And it was a bummer that they didn't have water available / only for purchase, and I do wish there was a bit more rice in the spicy mayo chicken bowl! Again, the chicken was so flavorful, I needed just a bit more rice! All minor reasons to not get 5 stars from me, but I would definitely come back here! And - the kindness of the cashier/staff was a solid 5 stars! Thanks for a yummy experience!
