We stopped by for an afternoon snack around 2:30pm and got a table outside although the cafe was quite busy. - El Macho's Nachos: the nachos were good and crispy. The guacamole was generous portion and was tasty. - Chicken tenders: the coating was crispy and the meat was tender and well seasoned. Our favorite was the delicious ketchup! It tasted like homemade and we licked it all up!
Minion Café is located next to the Minion ride and the Secret's Life of Pet on the Upper Level at Universal Studios Hollywood. My family and I visited the theme park on a Friday morning end of June. For lunch, we decided to stop by the Minion Café around 1:00 P.M. We got lucky and found one table that was open and with a cover! It wasn't too hot outside either, low 80s! The theme of the restaurant is really cool. All of the food has inspiration from the Despicable me and Minion movies! Some of the items on their menu included the following Classic Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup Meatball Parmesan Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac N Cheese Chicken Tenders Roast Chicken and so much more Most of these items are pre-made in warmers, but there are a few items that are order and cooked fresh. We ended up getting the following Chicken Tenders served with Minion tots and BBQ Sauce Carl's Pulled Pork Melt with BBQ sauce and Minion Tots The team informed us that the Pulled Pork Melt would take about 10 minutes to prepare. After the Pulled Pork Melt was finished, we checked out at the register and ate outside. I was surprised at how good the Pulled Pork Melt was! The onions were scrumptious and there was plenty of Pulled Pork in the sandwich! The cheese was ooey and gooey! It was perfect to dip into the BBQ sauce too. The Minion tots were decent. I would come back and get the Carl's Pulled Pork Melt again. It was one of the better meals I've had inside Universal Studios Hollywood!
Visited and ate at Minion Cafe a little before noon on a Saturday. The place was not as busy as we expected. We picked up the hot meals on the counter top before heading to the cashier. Customer service interaction was only at cashier. The cashier was pleasant. Ordered the chicken tenders served with Minion tots and BBQ sauce along with the Carl's Classic Grilled Cheese sandwich served with tomato soup and a side of Minion tots. Chicken tenders are ok but the portions and servings could be better. It seemed like the portion and servings are for children and not adults. We enjoyed the Minion tots. The potato tots were a good size just lacking in serving/amount. The Carl's Classic Grilled Cheese tasted like any other grilled cheese sandwich. The only difference is that they had a Minion stamp on one side of the sandwich.
Pulled Pork Melt is delicious. Probably the best item we ate in the park. Pork is juicy and great cheesy flavor. Side of Tots were good. Could have been a little crispier. Service was fast and friendly. Tables and area are clean. Utensils and condiments outside.

Me got da Felonious Float! It was belly good... but da banana candy? No no no, me no likey. But overall... STEEEEEEL good! Hehehe. Also... my fart smell like BANANA. But dat okay, because me LIKES banana! Da restaurant? Cute cute! But me no try other foods... so me no speak on dat. Hehehe.
Cafeteria style dining with minion themed food. I opted for the dispica-bowl ramen, which was ok for theme park food but not worth the $18+ price tag. The broth, egg and noodles were good, but the chashu was a bit too salty for my liking. Also, whoever put the bowl together was heavy handed with the green onion :( Ample outdoor seating available in front of the cafe, as well as a station for utensils, napkins, condiments, etc.
A very sad ramen. Tasted like instant noodles. The broth was gooey and tasteless. However, the meat was good.
We ate here around 11 AM on a Tuesday and the line wasn't too bad. We were able to use our Gold annual pass to get a 15% discount. I meant to take pictures, but the kids dug into their food faster lol Pulled pork sandwich - 6/10 Nachos - 6/10 Mac and Cheese - 6/10 Banana Pudding - 6/10 We shared food so the total wasn't too bad feeding 6 of us. Otherwise, it could've been pretty expensive. The ordering of food was like we were being served by minions lol it was kind of chaotic even with a short line. A lot of waiting, a lot of people piling in one area of the line, servers standing around looking unsure of what to do or who to serve first or took too long. Improvements towards efficiency would be helpful. The quality of food wasn't worth the cost IMO. At least Omarion at the register was very friendly and personable!
went to universal with my best friend and the staff member all suggested minion cafe! no regrets! we both got the mac and cheese. also got the minion tots and nutella banana pudding. i had no high expectations - that's just the way it is at an amusement park. but it was surprising filling for the price. the mac and cheese had crispy bacon bits and shredded chicken - it looked quite small at first but my friend and i couldn't finish one bowl each. it was actually pretty good for amusement park food! the tots were crispy and thick - again, looked pretty small in portion but they were so thick!! the banana pudding was actually okay! nothing like banana pudding at bakeries or anything, but still pretty good. barely a wait on a wednesday afternoon. so cute n yum.
Just eh. Ordered the grilled cheese/tomato soup and the chocolate cupcake. We got here at 10:30, when they open and all the doors were locked. A group of people started gathering and they did not unlock their doors until around 10:45. The food is basic and the "soup" is more of a marinara. All of the food was somewhat stale and tasted old despite us being there at opening. AVOID THE CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE. It was a horrendous puck of hard dense cake that flaked with a purple frosting that stains everything. All seating is outside with umbrella covered tables.

Brisket sandwich was seasoned well and it was made to order since they were out. So it tasted fresh. The fries are super cute!! And crispy. The chicken looked suspect at first since it was so pale. To my surprise, it was seasoned just right and was juicy!! Churros were also decent as well.

This review is mainly on their Nutella Banana Pudding. Presentation is adorable! However, the flavor was just okay. The banana was artificial tasting. Not bad but it could have been better.
BUSS. For theme park food too, this is bomb. Would buy this outside of Universal too. Grilled Cheese w/ tomato soup (10/10): not the biggest fan of tomato soup so my standards are low but I really liked it! Everything was made fresh so the cheese pull was there, the minion tots were crispy, and the tomato soup was warm. Fire. If you ask for anything else, you're greedy. Roasted chicken w/ minion tots (9/10): DEF up there for theme park food. Chicken is juicy & well seasoned. Comes with a side of bbq. This and the grilled cheese together = fire. read more

Nice sunny day at Universal Studios, my kids couldn't decide where to eat so we decided on Minion cafe. Outdoor shaded seating. We order online using the universal studio app. We ordered the minion tots, grilled chicken, nachos, and Mac n cheese. To start we waited 15 minutes for our food and it wasn't busy. After picking up our food, no one directed us where to get our drink. After getting our drink no one told us where to get our utensils and straws or condiments which were outside. The nachos were cold, the tots were salty, the Mac n cheese was super dry and tasted like it was left over from a few days ago, the only thing that was decent was the chicken. Total paid was a little over $65, avoid this place at all costs, it's not worth it. read more

I had the chicken bacon mac and cheese and asked for no ranch. The portion was rather skimpy, so I asked if I could have another scoop of mac and cheese, which they said no to. Seating area is outdoors. During the lunch rush, it can be hard to find a table, so you might need to nicely ask people at tables with open spots if you can sit there. There's also a dessert place, Despicable Delights, around the corner. Got a churro from there read more
I get it is overpriced theme park food but this place is horrible both service and food. Staff was not helpful and angry. The wait was almost 45 mins and not enough seats and the food was cold. Should have gone out of the park to eat. read more
Fast food is fast food, just blah blah.... But it's what to be expected I guess. 3 different kind of grilled cheeses. Chicken fingers n oh wow nachos lol. Luckily, it was one of the restaurants here with no line now I know why. Was just OK. I don't think I would be back. I will try something else. read more
Your usual amusement park food, however on a recent June gloomy day visit my friend introduced me to the pork ramen bowl here. I was hungry and it definitely hit the spot with the hot (temperature) broth! Along with the ramen and 2 slices pork, it also had an egg, lotsa green onions and some sesame seeds. Yes, you will pay $18.99 for a small bowl of ramen. But if you want something warm in your belly, this is a good choice and way better than the tomato soup. You can also do a mobile order on your app if you already plan in advance to come here and pick a time slot that works for you. read more

Sadly this location does not offer vegetarian options, so only my parents could partake in a snack. The theming of minions looked amazing for a fun environment, and the staff looked very friendly. I hope in the future they can expand their offerings. read more
Not a bad spot if you're into the cafeteria style dining! Nowhere to sit inside and the outside is always packed. We ended up walking a bit towards the center to find better seating. We ordered the Meatball Grilled Cheese, Loaded Nachos, Banana Hazelnut Pudding, and a Sprite. It satisfied us for the time being although I wish the nachos had more sauce. They barely load it with sauce, the nacho cheese gets hard/dry fast. My bf grabbed some tapatio packets which I didn't think I needed but SO glad he did because I put it on almost every chip. That's how dry and lacking it was! The tomato soup that came with the grilled cheese can barely even pass as tomato soup. It was more like marinara sauce and not much of it. I was really hoping I'd enjoy the banana pudding but the top "minion" eye was like a fondant which I dislike. Pure sugar and not a good flavor. The banana pudding itself was super artificial and really didn't do it for me. The grilled cheese and fries were the best thing about this entire meal. I can honestly say that when I had a season pass before the pandemic this place was never open. Truth is the food isn't that great. Nachos and sandwiches, nothing special. Therefore the 3 stars. Medicare food. But, they have cool minion desserts. They also have minion inspired drinks if you can get past the line! read more
Food - For a theme park food, it was pretty good. I got the meatball sandwich and enjoyed it. My wife got the grilled cheese and enjoyed it also. And my son go chicken tenders and he loves always loves those. Service - It was a busy day when we went so the line was long. This is expected but what was uncool was how half the restaurant was catered to mobile orders. Instead of two lines to order your food there was only one. I think they can still have two lines for guest to order their food and still handle mobile orders, and worst of all the the mobile order side wasn't busy. Again, uncool! Ambiance - Minions theme is nice outside and inside. It can seem hectic since you get your food cafetria style. Seating isn't the best and there wasn't many outside the cafe. My family had to walk past Mel's Diner to get a seat. I think they need more seats outside. Overall Minions cafe is okay. Food is great but trying to get it isn't fun. Would rather recommend Three Broomsticks or Krusty Burger. They have excellant food and handle croweds better. read more
Loaded Nachos with Chicken: 4/5 ($13.99) Chicken tinga (shredded chicken) topped with white queso, guacamole, pico de gallo and cilantro. I don't really expect much out of theme park food, but these nachos were pretty bomb - it was actually my favorite meal at universal! The shredded chicken was so tender and they gave a generous portion of the meat. I would def get this one again! Their canned beer is super overpriced though ($15) - it cost more than the nachos. read more

I saw on tiktok a-lot of people raving about the nachos here, but to be honest it was just okay. It lacked flavor and it wasn't as large as we expected. The line was long too. It was nice that they had alot of seating outdoors and the servers were nice. Nothing fancy, just wait in line, grab your food, and then find your own seat outside. It was like a cafeteria. read more

Food (5/5 stars): The Loaded Nachos was one of my favorite and bang for your buck theme park meals; it's very filling and satisfying. Some salsa in addition to the pico de gallo would've made this chef's kiss. If you're ever at Universal Studios, head over to Minion Cafe! After reviewing the food options at this park, we decided to order lunch from here. We ordered 2 pulled pork grilled cheese sandwiches (came with fries) and a chicken tender meal (came with fries and corn on the cob). The cafe was quite packed when we arrived. Surprisingly, the food was just lukewarm. In terms of flavor, it was pretty mediocre. The pulled pork did not have any smoke flavor, the fries had no salt on them and the corn was bland. As for the chicken tenders, it was dry. read more

For amusement park food, this place is pretty good. I'd recommend the meatball grilled cheese. It was pretty good, and dipping it in the tomato sauce was surprisingly satisfying. We also ordered the nachos, it's a huge portion so be prepared. It also is a good buy. Lines can get long and seating is limited. Great place for families to enjoy a quick meal together. read more
Theme park food isn't anything to go bananas about but Minions Cafe is a solid choice. Very busy during lunch time for the holiday season so a long line and it is basically cafeteria style where you grab the food you want. It was very difficult to find seating and we had to locate to a bench. My brother was hungry so we ordered quite a few items: pulled pork sandwich ($14.99), rotisserie chicken ($16.99), chicken mac and cheese ($13.99), and Felonious Float ($10.00). The pulled pork sandwich was the highlight and actually delicious with their banana bbq sauce (you can't really taste the banana but that works for me!). My brother said the chicken was okay and better than he expected but the corn was too mushy. We would not recommend the Mac and cheese- it was the most unsatisfactory dish. The float actually isn't bad with its raspberry ice and banana soft serve. I'm not a fan of bananas but I can appreciate it objectively. Definitely expensive but might be worth checking out for the minion fans and anyone craving a grilled cheese sandwich! read more

What do you expect from a minion themed cafe? Because I certainly had no idea. I initially stopped by here for the Nutella banana pudding. Since I hadn't ate lunch yet I figured I might well get something else too. The cafe is a cafeteria system and it's quite busy. Even though all the food is already made, it still took really long to get the food. Be careful when grabbing your plate because it's all under heat lamps causing the plates to be very very hot. I got a grilled cheese which had fries and a little cup of tomato soup. The sandwich was really greasy, the fries were a little soggy, and the tomato soup was surprisingly the best thing on the plate. I also tried the loaded chicken nachos and the chips were a little stale and was overall lacking flavor. Not to mention they charge $4 for Niagara water. Given how much you're paying, it's simply not worth it. Everything was below average and not satisfying. Unless you have no other option I think it's best to go elsewhere to dine. There's definitely potential to turn it into something fun especially because it is minions but for now it's a no from me. read more
Universal really ramped up their food selections and variety. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with fries and tomato soup side. Due to the long lines, the sandwiches were premade and kept warm under a heat lamp. It was still pretty decent and instantly brought me back to childhood school lunches. Grilled cheese is a staple in the cafeteria of US school systems so it was very fitting to be found at the Minion Cafe. For theme park food, I enjoyed my sandwich. Next time, I really want to try their grilled cheese with meatball sandwich and loaded nachos. Both were sold out the day I went. read more
