Coffee and Plants in Studio City is one of those places that instantly makes my day better. The vibe is calm and welcoming, and everything feels thoughtfully done, from the space to the menu. I love their pastries, full stop. They are consistently fresh and craveable, and somehow manage to feel indulgent without being heavy. The Just Egg tartine is also a standout. It's satisfying, flavorful, and exactly what I want when I need a real breakfast that still feels a little special. And the lattes are truly amazing. Smooth, balanced, not overly sweet, and made with care. They also absolutely nail the seasonal drinks. The Cookie Latte is currently my favorite. It's cozy, dessert-like in the best way, and still tastes like coffee, not syrup. If you want a spot that gets it right every time, Coffee and Plants is it. Good food, but the worst service imaginable, and they are theives. Increbly slow to serve if you order there, but DON'T ever order online from them. They won't make your food, and then refuse to refund your order, even if you order via their own website and preferred vendor. There's sadly very few vegan places in the valley, but this place should be avoided. read more

Coffee and Plants is located in Venture, and no surprise was it how hard it was to find parking. It's a fairly small location from the queue to the tables, but the atmosphere inside is very aesthetic. Everything screams luxury but in a cute, enchanted forest kind of vibe. I went with my basic iced latte only to realize that there is no milk. Instead, I went with oat milk. The espresso here tasted great, and I was impressed with how it paired with their oat milk. While I didn't have a chance to work inside, I am excited to return in the future. The staff member who helped my friend and I at the time was very friendly, and drinks were out within a fairly reasonable time (~5 mins) - prepared fresh. This is one of the cutest matcha and coffee shops I've seen and had an amazingly friendly and helpful barista. Definitely a place where you go after Pilates . This matcha and coffee shop is plant based, no cow milk so no up charge on the dairy free. I had the Azul matcha with butterfly lavender cold foam. It's good, not too sweet, had almond cashew milk and tasted a bit like coconut and lavender. The cream is delicious. The only negative is there was not a lot of liquid to the drink. The cup is small, my guess is 10-12 oz so it tastes good but won't quench your thirst. read more

Came here for a breakfast and it was fantastic! I ordered the just egg tartine and it was bigger and more filling than I expected, I also ordered the pumpkin latte with oat milk to accompany it. The tartine was wonderful and they really did a fantastic job with the scramble. I loved the seasonings and the hot sauce that accompanied it. The bread also had a great texture and balanced out the soft fluffy texture of the faux egg. The pumpkin latte was perfectly sweet and creamy and worked so well to contrast the savory meal. So far I love this place! It's so cute and cozy and one of the only coffee shops that stays open till 6! I usually want a coffee around 4 or 5 so it's nice that I could chill there for a while. I stopped by with a friend because the café looked super cute and Instagram-worthy -- and it definitely had its cute parts. Unfortunately, the pink matcha I ordered didn't quite live up to expectations. I couldn't taste the hibiscus or beet juice, and there were some white flakes on top that made me question the milk. As a matcha lover, I was hoping for more. It also took quite a while to get our order. There was only one person working, and they seemed really overwhelmed, which made the atmosphere a bit tense. There were only 2 people behind the counter. One came up to the cash register and stood there. Then walked off saying "let me know when you are ready" as they had something else to tend to, and they seemed inconvenienced. The other person was making drinks Feedback: Ask if a patron is ready... What was really inconveniencing to not only me as a customer but to those running the shop is: -Prices but No descriptions on the drinks -Visual of the baked goods but No prices I did check the drink menu through yelp before going, so I had an idea of what I wanted drink-wise and what was in it. But the baked goods were listed as assortment and I forgot about the price/had to choose. So with the decision I had to ask for the prices and the other person the one who was making drinks, ended up taking my order. They had to price check in the system by adding the item then removing it to check the other item. Feedback: Can we make everyone's lives easier and just post the friggn price? I brought in my own coffee cup it's over 16oz the cashier asked if I was ok with a higher charge "to fill it up" I said yes. ****On the drink menu board they only list one price assuming it's for regular not sure if it's 8oz 10oz or 12oz ? I'm assuming there's a large available for all drinks but no details listed DFAUQ??? It wasn't full when I received it, I checked with the staff to which they then explained they meant an estimate of "16 oz" not filling it up as was stated and expected as that's what I was told/paid extra for. I didn't even know the up-charge price didn't get an itemized receipt either... not bothered but this is not ok behavior and bad business. Feedback: If you want to have the menu fully online post QR codes big bold and unavoidable so there's ease of access/info readily available. While the ambiance is beautiful with tea house charm, live foliage with the plants, and the food and drinks are delicious!!! Like seriously good! The lack of communication, amount of inconvenience, miscommunication and ability to have staff commit theft is very concerning and needs to be resolved before I ever want to consider visiting again. This wasn't a "me-thing" either as the customers sitting near me got the tartines aka open faced sandwiches (they looked amazing!) but they weren't told which was which and they didn't know what the ingredients were. The lack of communication on that left them unhappy with the unexpected/unstated ingredients and there may have been a mixup on which order was who's as well on top of that. The staff were not rude, I am thankful for that considering. I made sure to tip and be polite. The first staff member I encountered later came and asked if I was done before taking care of the plate I had the pastry on. To my recollection I was the only one who stated thank you as they took the dirty plates from others as well. Quick & friendly service. Parking is in the front on meters so you might have to walk a little on a busy day. Nice place to come & get some work done. The laurel was perfectly sweetened with a bold taste of coffee. The chagaccino was okay, tasted a little watered down but had a nice cinnamon flavor to it. Coffee and Plants is a very pink and pretty vegan coffee house on Ventura Boulevard between Whitsett Avenue and Laurel Canyon in Studio City. I've tried them three times, and my impressions are three-stars-worthy: - A star for a very lovely aesthetically appealing shop. - A star for very beautifully crafted drinks served on a fun Lazy Susan. - A star for how dog friendly they are are. The downsides that knock off two stars are parking, price, and drink temperature. Parking is tough. It's challenging to find parking on Ventura, and Cantura (a block south of Ventura) isn't convenient if you're short on time, nor is the free public lot behind Bookstar or the pay lot by Bank of America. Prices are really high for drinks here. More than I feel is worth it. Two out of the three times I've been in, my drinks were served warm instead of hot. When I asked them to heat it, I was told that they have no microwave. When I asked them to add more steamed milk to warm it up, they did so, which really altered the taste of the drink. Not once was I given an apology or an offer to remake the drink. After the second time my drink was served warm instead of hot, I decided I was not going to come back. I suppose I could come back and ask for the drink to be made extra hot, but I've lost that lovin' feeling. Overall, I wish I liked this place better. It's so beautiful inside. But after three tries, I have decided that this is just not the place for me. I recommend that you give it a try because it's very popular -- you may like it more than I do. read more

I just tried their strawberry matcha which was really good, the other times I've come I've tried a couple of their lattes I believe the Laurel and another whose name I'm forgetting. The taste on those was just okay. Took off a star because the seating is uncomfortable and the drinks don't have a lot of caffeine in my opinion and they're too expensive for me to bother adding an extra shot. I was dead tired and needed a caffeine boost before my study session and ended up having to go to another coffee shop after here to get a different drink to wake me up.
