Ideology is one of my favorite coffee shops on Ventura Blvd--simple, cozy, and consistently good. They make a great vanilla latte. I always ask for extra ice so it's not too milky and half the sweetness, and it comes out perfect every time. Sometimes I'll order a RAF, equally delicious, but I'd recommend getting it hot than iced. My husband really enjoys their drip coffee too. The staff is quick, friendly, and super accommodating. I'll even call ahead when I'm in a rush, and they always have my order ready to go. Also don't forget to sign up for their rewards program! Ordered by mobile. My order tasted like a chai tea but I had ordered coffee (Chagaccino). They had to remake mine for me. The remake was totally different in flavor. I really like the Chagaccino with oatmilk. It was fantastic in flavor and smooth. The first drink was nothing like it. They said someone probably took mine but my receipt was attached to the first drink. Ugh! I'm so glad the offered to remake mine. Since it was my first time here I would know what my drink was supposed to taste like and I have also never ordered a Chagaccino before. I don't think my review would have been as favorable. I like the atmosphere. It is funny and cute. I hope I can come back soon but it is far from my house to make this every day. Street parking. There is also pay for parking lot in back. I came here one afternoon when in desperate need of some caffeine! The cafe is spacious and cute with plenty of seating inside and outside. I opted to sit on their lovely patio as it was a gorgeous day outside and it's a great place to people watch. I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk and it was very delicious! It had a great balance of being earthy and sweet and the espresso tasted very fresh and not bitter at all. The service was friendly and accommodating. It was very clean and comfy there and I felt at ease being there. Parking is very easy in the surrounding neighborhood with plenty of free parking. read more

This is one of my son's favorite morning breakfast spots since we usually stop here to grab him a ham & cheese croissant with a milk before school. Everytime we arrive, we are greeted by the workers who are familiar with my kids and are always super friendly when taking our order. There actually used to be two workers here who knew my boy's orders but have since moved on from the company. The place is small but always nice and clean. It's usually quiet with a few people working on laptops and sometimes you'll find a dog or two enjoying a snack with his owner. The shop has coffees, teas, hot chocolate, lattes, cold brew, macchiatos and lemonade with a variety of pastries such as banana bread, carrot cake, almond, butter, chocolate and ham croissants. I don't usually get a pastry but I order a blossom peach tea mixed with lemonade. Overall, it's a cool little coffee shop that could benefit from having other pastries besides 4 different croissants. Really good coffee! Located right on Ventura Blvd so parking can be tricky depending on time of day. I got their iced latte with lavender syrup - apparently they use real lavender for it. On the way to work, I knew I needed a pick-me-up from matcha. I saw this spot and went to place an order thru Yelp/GrubHub, and the order pickup time scared me at first as it rose up from the initial time. When I came by, there was only one other person in line and the barista went to finishing up my order. She was very friendly despite the morning rush and her working alone. The matcha was okay and wasn't off-putting. I had oat milk with my matcha, although I feel the ratio of matcha to milk was quite low because part of the drink started to feel 'watered-down'. I finished the drink and was able to feel satisfaction from the matcha however! Parking was hard to find in front, so I had to quickly park at the loading area around the corner. read more

It's sweetened using monk fruit and not sugar but tastes amazing (and no after taste) I purely come for this and seating is a hit and miss because of how limited they are at this location but for a grab and go this is one of my local favs! |[ m e t m y m a t c h a ]| I usually get the original but the matcha version of the chaggacino is also bomb! When they first opened, the space felt a little bare, but over time I grew to appreciate its minimal, calming vibe. Our office is right upstairs, so I became a regular, and now it feels like a second workspace for me. Ideology is very much a "work-friendly" café. It's quiet, comfortable, and filled with people who look like freelancers, nomads, creators, and small business owners getting things done. Went in for a peach matcha and a blue jasmine matcha, both tasted like watered down matcha. Felt very disappointed considering it was 7 dollars each. Service and atmosphere were good. Cool space and iced coffee on a hot day. Efficient use of bar/counter seating, and a few patio tables on Ventura Boulevard. They make drinks quickly. The vanilla latte is pretty good...not the most delicate flavor and quite sweet, but not unbearably sweet. read more

Second time here. From what I remember from the first time, the coffee was overpriced and it was just okay. Now with coffee being normally about $7.50, it didn't seem overpriced this time around since it has gone up since last time I came. I got an iced cinnamon and clove latte with oat milk. They do carry soy milk which is my first choice but they had ran out but it's good to know they still carry it. The coffee was good but I could've used more flavor of the cinnamon. They have an outside seating area which is so nice and next to other restaurants but there is plenty of eating inside even though it's a little small. Parking is a bit of a hassle since it's on Ventura so there's street meter parking and in the back residential area but it's usually packed. read more

My wife is now working at the Rite Aid in Glendale. Searching for the best coffee and matcha shop in Glendale, I came across Ideology cafe. It's located on Central Ave. There plenty of metered parking on Central and California. The inside is modern and casual with a serene atmosphere. I ordered an ice latte with oat milk for my wife and a hot matcha latte with almond milk. My matcha latte was smooth without a bitter aftertaste. One of the best matcha latte I've had. The last few months I have been trying out new coffee places and today I ended up here after a meeting. It's very spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. I have been to their Glendale location a few times but first time here. I ordered a cold brew which tasted good. I had it black today without any milk. They also sell pastries here but there wasn't much left when I got there around 11:30. Customer service was ok but not as friendly as the Glendale location. I visited Ideology for a morning cup of coffee, and the staff were welcoming and patient as I ordered. Only about 3-5 parties visited during my two-hour stay, which was what I paid for for metered street parking ($1 / hr, max 2h). If you would like to park in the back, there is a 1 hour of free validation. The coffee was fairly priced, though I found their espresso to be subtly sour. Most of their seating is also near the entrance, so if you want to get work done, consistent door opening and foot traffic may be distracting during peak hours. Aside from the small distractions, I enjoyed the ambiance and will likely be adding this to my list of regular coffee shops if I want to work out-of-home in the mornings. read more

I was super dissappointed in my matcha latte drink. I pretty much paid for milk 7 dollars as it tasted very milky. The matcha to milk ratio was way off. I also had to ask for more syrup as well. My sisters and I came for thanksgiving get together thinking we would be able to choose from a variety of baked goods. Sadly there was only one chocolate croissant left. I usually order the Iced Vanilla Oat Latte and Iced Hazelnut Oat Latte. Each drink isn't cheap, especially with add-ons like alternative milk and syrup. Ambiance is casual, bustling, and hipster-ish. Not a place where I'd stay and study, but I've seen others do. If you can fight through the chatter, you'll be fine. Expect a line in the mornings, though it's always worth the wait to me. read more
