The right amount of Philly "dirt." Shappy has found a way to perfectly replicate this here in LA. I ordered online and picked up my order at Canter's Deli (shame on you Shappy... I walked out of there with a black and white too!) The initial order of 6 won't last very long, and then I'll be back for more!

I understand that Shappy's is not Canter's where the pickup was for that day. But I had a bad experience with my pickup. The people working at Canter's were incredibly rude and kept bouncing me from one counter to the other. Please note: these counters are across from each other and it seemed like the employees had some kind of interpersonal conflict. They were rude to each other, to me. I finally went the host to get help and he brushed me off and said I couldn't pick up here. Fortunately, one woman came out from the back, a server, and she got my order for me. Of course, she was immediately reprimanded for helping me. I would definitely go again to Shappy's if the pickup was anywhere else. Update: Shappy's reached out to me about my above issue within 30 minutes of posting and they took the time to talk and make things right. That's customer service right there! I will put up with Canter's to support Shappy! GO BIRDS!

I ordered the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel with Brussels sprouts and spätzle on the side. The schnitzel was easily the highlight of the meal. I don't come across Cordon Bleu very often, so I was excited to try it, and it absolutely delivered. The Brussels sprouts were a great pairing, and while the spätzle was pretty simple with a light buttery flavor, it complemented the richness of the schnitzel well without overpowering it. The service was great throughout the night. Our food took a little longer than expected to come out, but it was a busy Friday night and our server kept us updated the entire time, which I really appreciated. My friend was also celebrating his birthday month and was given a free Beer Boot, which was a really fun touch. The atmosphere was lively and perfect for hanging out with friends. We were there while the NBA Finals were on, which made the restaurant feel even more energetic. One thing I also appreciated was how easy parking was, there was plenty of street parking both in front of the restaurant and across the street. Overall, Wirtshaus has a unique menu that you don't see very often, and I'll definitely be back to try more of it.

The crispy schnitzel was topped with a creamy garlic sauce and a perfectly fried egg!! I paired it with homemade sauerkraut and homemade Spatzle, which made the meal feel truly authentic and comforting To complete the experience, I had a Paulaner Oktoberfest beer and it paired perfectly with the food The service was friendly, the food was excellent, and I really enjoyed my visit. The only thing I felt was missing was a stronger German atmosphere. Some traditional German music playing in the background would make the experience even more immersive and memorable!!

It's a great place to gather and drink with friends and friendly strangers. It's bigger than you think, too, since besides the main room it has a mezzanine, a private room near the bathrooms, and an outdoor patio area. While they don't serve food, there are always food trucks or other food vendors there. I also love the community events they put on. And social clubs even have meetups here. It's just good vibes all around. And honestly, every beer I've had here has been amazing. I recently had a sour that I loved. They also have slushies and nonalcoholic drinks. Their NA mojito was great when they had it. Only tough part is the parking but if the lot is unavailable, there's usually street parking in the neighborhood or across Vineland at the meters. Please keep being you, Lawless! ily

There is plenty of street parking around and the place is walkable. I visited this past Friday for the soccer game (Brazil Vs. Haiti) and noticed it was not extremely packed as it was the night prior (Mexico had won). Walked in and formed line to place my beer order. I went with "Big Screen Energy" IPA 8.2% imperial/double. I enjoyed this flavor so much that I ended up getting two more rounds later. Plenty of beer selection on tap and even wine. They offer indoor/outdoor seating as well as some space upstairs. Indoors they have a big screen, and the outdoor patio has a TV. Lastly, the upstairs area has a smaller TV. They also have rotating food trucks for anyone that develops hunger or cravings. They are pet and child friendly; very welcoming overall. I enjoyed visiting once again.

The location has plenty of parking and such a great vibe. With all the distillers upstairs and downstairs, the whole place pulls you into the experience the second you walk in. The food is honestly some of the best bar food I've ever had. This is bistro food, not your typical chicken fingers and frozen appetizers. The menu is always changing, which keeps things exciting, and everything feels like it was actually thought through. Service is what makes this place stand out even more. The owners genuinely care about the community. They're constantly popping in, saying hi, checking on guests, and making sure the food is coming out at its best. You can tell they're invested in the experience, not just the business. The ambience is awesome. Great energy, great crowd, and a beer selection that keeps me happy every time. I'm a huge sour beer guy and it's almost impossible to find bars with a solid sour selection, but they always have multiple options on tap, including some they brew themselves. A place that keeps getting better every time I visit.

Service: 5/5 Food: 2/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Drinks: 3/5 Prices: 2/5 My group kept hurling rapid-fire requests at the pair of bartenders and they were on top of everything. They kept the food and drinks coming and frequently checked on us so kudos to them. Only obstacle was asking one of them a bunch of menu questions and food recommendations but he is vegan so had no opinions since most of the menu is meat. On to the food. The best things were the hummus/pita starter, and that's about it. The pretzel was ok but all 3 dips were not mustard based so lame. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs. While cutting them they squirted me which I thought was a good sign, but they had no flavor and basically no sauce. There is a fine line between charred and burnt and they started to cross the line, just tasted like burnt charcoal. I doused them in their original BBQ sauce and it actually made them worse; the sauce just tastes like liquid spice and also had no distinct flavor. Can't ruin fries... wrong! They were overly fried and any potato remnants had been cooked away. The coleslaw was not coleslaw, it was just chopped up purple cabbage, totally inedible. Some other food reviews from my coworkers. Fish and chips: dry Fried pickles: where are the pickles Miso cod: not good Bacon burger: also not good Chicken wings: you guessed it I also got one of 3 sour beer options, The Who Likes Orange Soda, which magically tasted like half sour beer half orange soda. It was ok but towards the end I just wished I had gotten a sour beer instead of an orange soda. Considering how poor the food quality is, I'd say the menu is wildly overpriced. The place has a chill vibe, so it's not a bad option to have a beer and watch some sports on TV, but I would highly advise eating before going so you are full and don't make the mistake of ordering food.

This particular outlet is located on the 7th floor of the Beverly Center near Bloomie's and the escalator. Grateful to see that it was National Pretzel Day, so I scored a free twisted treat. Surprisingly, there was only one person in front of me when I arrived around 4PM. I guess no one wants to pay $6 to park at the Beverly Center. Since the young girl there was working like an Energizer Bunny, I saw my pretzel come straight out of the oven. Since there's only a counter for ordering - no seating - I took my hot, salt-dusted knot home and devoured it. Yum!

There are only 2 guys manning the store and they're very hard working and polite - at least today they were. I've been there other times where whoever is manning the cashier looks so bored and unhelpful - so it's luck of the draw. I do love their pretzels though - as greasy as they are, they reallly are buttery - and with a little coarse salt - it hits the good spot. I also like their cheesy hotdog - though the cheese doesn't feel real it's even more greasy. It has gotten expensive though - for "junk" food everything and anything is $8 or more.

Wait for your food to arrive and enjoy! Don't forget the beers! For food, our go to is always their pizza (check out the cheese pull in my photos) and fougasse. Our kids love the pizza and plain curly fries. Chicken wings and their Caesar salad is good too! We miss the panna cotta they used to have. They were delicious!
