Perfect Ben and Jerry's visit! It's a warm day walking around universal studios and I need a sweet treat. We were so thankful the shop was nearly empty. Carlos gave us a few samples and was happy with us taking our time deciding. He pointed out the chocolates dipped waffles cones are not vegan but the plain ones are. I am forever grateful that Ben and Jerry's continually produces incredible vegan flavors. Many shops don't have such a variety. We tried the vegan versions of key like pie, cookie dough, strawberry and there was a coffee one I didn't try. They also had dairy free sorbets and you can make them into shakes. The customer service was good. The shop is small and narrow but they have a variety of different ice cream options. I do wish they had some sort of exclusive store flavors or something more unique. I paid $11 for a regular milkshake that consisted of 3 scoops of ice cream of choice with milk. I don't think it's worth the price but it was still good regular milkshake. read more

I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt. That's why I'm going with 2 stars instead of 3. Came here with my son on a hot summer afternoon. I was shocked to see they only had 1 employee behind the counter both taking orders & ringing people up. That lead to not only a long line, but a small moving one. The Employee was very friendly and did her best to get people through as quickly as possible, but I was absolutely shocked that at a location that gets massive foot traffic they didn't at least have 1 person just taking orders & 1 person ringing people up. The employee there absolutely needed some backup. I was also shocked to hear that they were out of milk. I had planned on getting a shake, but I heard the woman mention to a customer in front of me that they just didn't get any that day so all she could do was scoops for the day. That's crazy. For a place that is charging more than other locations, you'd think they'd at least ensure that they had all the inventory needed to give customers what they wanted. Will I come back here? Maybe. I was here with my family on a Sunday afternoon while we were walking through Universal City Walk. Grateful they had three vegan options. There was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Vanilla with chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge flakes), Strawberry Marshmallow (Strawberry with Strawberry Marshmallow swirls), and Colin Kaepernick's Change the Whirled (Caramel with Fudge Chips, Graham Cracker Swirls & Chocolate Cookle Swirls). I don't like Strawberry so I didn't sample that. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough was okay. Colin Kaepernick's Change the Whirled was pretty good. I only wanted one scoop but the employee told me that I can only get two scoops. It was $8.50 for a small cup and $10.50 for a large cup. It's expensive. Everything was clean and wife had zero reaction to any gluten as she normally would risk. Loved the Berries sorbet slush- prices are steep at $12 a drink but delicious and fruity( and more worth it than anything else on Citywalk). Employees seem to work alone in the morning- we came into our server hard at work cleaning. Great work ethic to see in todays generation, ESp- in Hollywood where most customer service interactions we have had are flippant and bordering rude. Appreciated the extra attention. This review is for the young female associate (petite with brown hair and glasses) that was working Jan 31st around 7:45/8 pm. If you don't like your job, maybe find a new one instead of imposing your negative attitude onto others. Ben and Jerry's needs to offer customer service training or at least hold their employees to a standard above sub par. I normally overlook bad service because we could all be having a bad moment; but my daughter was really excited to get ice cream all day, and we have had exceptional service from literally every store and restaurant we have been to on our 4 day trip except our last stop Ben and Jerry's. Saying you're welcome or have a nice night is the bare minimum. Customer service is apart of your position, sorry getting back on your phone was not as important as your job. read more

Ben & Jerry's ice cream is great at the grocery store and even better at the shop. There's more variety at a shop and you can try any flavor you want. I met the owner, Stacy, and she's great and very friendly. I was happy with my experience and with my ice cream. At the time, my birthday was coming up, so it was a nice treat. The shop is priced about the same as any other Ben & Jerry's in the area and it is at market price for artisanal ice cream shops that have recently grown in popularity in Los Angeles in the past few years. From reading Yelp reviews, the owner is pretty responsive to what they have control over, like small scoops and customer service. I go to Universal Studios as a local and I often go to AMC at City Walk and I see how busy the mall itself can be and how customers can be, so good job to them for holding it together and being graceful. read more

They carry most of the core favorite flavors the brand is known for. For those who are dairy free, they only offer 2 flavors of dairy alternative ice cream - bit of a lost opportunity but I know the space in the freezer is limited. Staff has been okay the past few times I've gone. No one is rude but I'm hard pressed to see anyone look excited or upbeat when serving customers. Maybe I've caught them on an off day, but it's something I've noticed. Prices are a bit higher here than other locations I've visited, likely due to the rent at Citywalk. This isn't Ben & Jerry's fault, but it does make me less likely to want to set foot in here to spend $16 on 2 small cups of ice cream on a regular basis. read more

We had an ice cream fun day at work catered by Ben n Jerry's. The employees were surprised to find they do cater so everyone was talking about doing same thing for kid's birthday parties. Our server, Rafael was great. Unfortunately, he didn't know pricing for catering. I tried to call but chose to message them via fb to get more info. Four days after, someone from this branch replied to my message and asked me what they can do. I replied right away that I want to know more info about catering. I didn't get a reply so I sent them another message today that it looks like they don't want business for not replying. I finally caught their attention and now they want my business. The girl behind the counter was absolutely rude. I have two young kids who unfortunately do not know what they wanted to order. They each asked for a couple of samples. As I was about to make a real order, the girl automatically tells me that she cannot give me more samples. I was not trying to sample anymore as I had already told my kids that they needed to choose. The churro is just average especially for the price. The soft serve is pretty good for a hot day, however the portion is pretty big. It can get a little tiring if you're eating it alone. It is definitely bigger than a recommended serving size. Decent price for the size of the cone. read more

There is a Ben & Jerry's ice cream store on the Universal City Walk near the entrance of Universal Studios. This is also my first time trying Ben & Jerry's ice cream at the store instead of buying it in a pint at the grocery store. I had ordered: -Cookies and Milk (Didn't really like this flavor. It was like a interesting flavor of cookies and cream. But my friend ordered it without sampling it first so "o well".) -Strawberry Cheesecake (I actually really liked this flavor. It really tasted like I was eating a strawberry cheesecake with a scoop of ice cream on the side. I would defiantly order this again.) Pros: -Taste test first to see if you like the flavor before ordering. (That way you can never mess up.) -They allow you to bring in the ice cream that you buy on the City Walk. (YAY!) We were looking at all the flavors and there were just so many it was hard to decide, I was in between coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz (coffee ice cream with espresso bean fudge chunks) and lazy sunday (vanilla cake batter ice cream with Choco/yellow cupcake pieces & chocolate frosting swirl, looking back at this, it sounds like a breakup type of ice cream...very intense) but I ended up with something completely different, salted caramel blondie & strawberry! Both were delicious, subtle flavoring and not too intense. It was nice not having to feel like I was getting diabetes through each bite. My boyfriend got candy bar pie (PB ice cream w/ fudge flakes, Choco nougat, and sweet salty pretzel swirls, dayummmm) and the classic chunky monkey! He loved both his flavors but if you don't LOVE peanut butter (like me) candy bar pie might not be for you...it literally taste like frozen peanut butter...but he liked it. Ask for samples!
