A PORTLAND DREAM in HOLLYWOOD! I can FINALLY take this donut shop off my to-do list. It's been a hassle trying to stop by because every time I'm near, I'm on a time crunch to get to Universal Studios lol. Thankfully, I had time before FanFest to wait in line and purchase a few of the Scooby Doo donut exclusives and Voodoo's signature treats. My favorite, hands down is the Portland Dream. It's a Bavarian crème filled donut with chocolate on top. It's perfection in every way, The Dirt was a close second. The chocolate, breading, and portions were excellent. The Scooby donuts were mid-tier but still solid. It's a bit hot-pink spooky inside and there's very limited seating (and space for that matter). I wouldn't suggest eating inside as there's only two small circular tables available. Merch is plentiful and good quality. The decor is very Louisiana-style with a mix of coffeehouse vibes. Staff were AMAZING, they went the extra mile to help me find my perfect donut. Overall, I'll be back. I stuffed my face with three large donuts, that's how much I enjoyed my time here.
I would give them 3.5 stars, but it's a fun shop, so I bumped up. You come to Voodoo for the fun donuts - yes they're pricey, but you know everything has a surcharge on the city walk and these donuts are over the top. The voodoo bar is filled with raspberry filling - just the bottom 2/3 is filled (like where the green swirl is), but it is super filled! I really liked the flavor. Solid chocolate bar overall. The vicious hibiscus is sweet, with a tang. I really like it. The Memphis mafia was not as good as I was hoping for. It's dry for a fritter. But still fun nonetheless
I've been to the OG location in Portland and these doughnuts taste just as good! Do not be detoured by the line, if there is one, it moves very fast and there are menus everywhere for you to scope out before your order. If it's your first time here, I highly suggest getting their namesake and get a Voodoo Doll doughnut. I love jelly doughnuts and this is a raspberry-filled and chocolate-frosted treat. That has a pretzel stake through its heart. Delish! The bacon maple bar and the apple fritter are always a must order. They are a little pricer than other doughnut shops, but well worth if you ask me. Love the staff here and they also have some great merch, so why not buy a t-shirt?!
Love voodoo donuts! They have a ton of vegan options that are indicated with a "V" on the menu. When I have been to a different location in the past I remember they had vegan and non-vegan versions of the same flavor and you had to specify, but now I believe they just offer one version of each flavor, many of which are vegan by default. I got the voodoo doll which was delicious! Tasted pretty fresh and was quite large too. The girl who took my order was really nice.
Know going in that this place is pricey and worth every penny. Sometimes there is a line, but it moves fast. The service is wonderful. They know about all they have. They even have vegan donuts, I did not try any so I can not offer my opinion. This one is right in Universal City and you can eat them outside, but we were finally leaving the area and took them home. My daughter said the cake donut with the chocolate icing was the best she ever had. How would I know she ate half and gave my husband the other half. The glazed donuts were perfect and we loved the plain donut. All of them are good. We got a nice selection. The place is clean and super cute. They sell all kinds of merch, that I don't want, but a tourist might. They have really cute stuff.
After having a long day at universal I really wanted a doughnut from here. They have a large variety of donuts. Although they might be unhealthy, they are very tasty and worth the calories for me. They have a very cute storefront with some tables on the inside and some on the outside. The staff was friendly and patient with us while we decided what we wanted. They have some donut on display so you can get an idea of how they look like. Our order got prepared pretty quick and we decided to sit outside while we enjoyed our donuts.
I love Voodoo Donuts! My favorite is the Voodoo Doll donut. I get to play with my delicious donut before I eat it. Service is efficient and nice. The decor is great for photo ops. I love the colorful displays, art and donuts.
Let me start by saying something controversial: I don't even like donuts. So walking into Voodoo was already an uphill battle. Neon pink boxes. Goth-circus branding. Bacon on maple bars like it's a personality trait. It's loud, chaotic, and aggressively quirky--like Hot Topic and a sugar refinery had a child. I tried. I really did. The donuts look like they were designed by a committee of 12-year-olds hopped up on soda. Cereal on top. Candy bars shoved into frosting. Marshmallows glued on like a kindergarten art project. It's not pastry--it's edible decoration. And taste? Sugar. More sugar. Then a faint whisper of dough under the avalanche. Texture-wise, it's dense. Not ethereal. Not delicate. Not "worth the insulin spike." Just heavy, sweet dough trying to survive beneath a layer of frosting thick enough to patch drywall. I get it. It's an Instagram thing. You hold the pink box. You pose. You post. You move on. But if you're expecting transcendent pastry? Something that melts in your mouth and makes you rethink carbs? This isn't that. This is spectacle. If you love donuts, maybe you'll find joy in the chaos. If you're donut-neutral like me? It's a sugar parade with a drumline and no melody.
Went yesterday and had the best interaction with the employee Cesar! He was so friendly , helped my cousin pick out her donut when she was indecisive & was SOO funny. We really enjoyed our interaction with him, the shop felt clean & had good energy! Thank you Cesar!
Voodoo Doughnut is a little nuts. After waiting in an unnecessarily long line due to having one person at the register and another one at the beverage counter, these people are slow. The one in L. A. Next to Pinks is better. I don't know why they cut back on workers at the expense of their customers. The donuts were not bad, it's a donut with extra variety flavor sugar toppings. Depending on the. A dozen donuts you choose from will cost you a minimum of $ 36.00. I will say it's overpriced and the donuts even though it's spelled Doughnuts they taste like most fresh DONUTS. Overall not bad but won't go out of my way for it. I've been to one other location, one person in front went fast. The opposite is true here.
Finally made it in and did not disappoint. Great selection of doughnuts and creative. We will be back!
My favorite donuts! The store was super clean and had amazing customer service. I guess different regions have different names but Mile 8 (m&m) donut never disappoints. They are known for their voodoo donut with raspberry filling and it's delicious as well.
Voodoo Doughnuts was a real SWEET experience!! We've been on a strict nutrition plan and so Voodoo Doughnuts, we broke the rules FOR YOU. Feeling exclusive? :) We did. You didn't disappoint. We had the banana chocolate doughnut which were highly recommended through friends all the way in North Carolina!! This doughnut, this location... we've waited since September to try this on our visit in November. Hot establishment, loved the esthetic... loved our doughnut... well worth the alleged 800 calories to split this bad boy. Yum. Great staff. Also great marketing!! We left universal studios at 1am from Halloween Horror nights and there y'all had a stand outside to buy like a dozen of them. I was tempted!! But we wanted exclusive and fresh, and that's what we got. Great experience from Paso Robles, we are glad you aren't closer because we'd be there way too much but we also see what we are missing. This store is located in the middle section of City Walk in Universal Hollywood. It's a very pretty colorful store, with couple of tables available for dine-in. The highlight of the store are their 37 different creative unique flavors of donuts. They have hot/cold drinks, cakes and fritters. Several merchandise items are also available for purchase. We peeked through the rotating glass display to pick the two flavors we wanted. The friendly staff member quickly packed the donuts in their iconic pink box and handed them to us. The price was $6-$8 for each. My daughter loved her sprinkle cake donut, ate it in minutes but my chocolate old fashioned wasn't as good, it dough tasted old, like stale. read more

If you're looking for a sweet, post-universal studios snack, this spot is a solid choice. It was really slow on a Monday night and service was friendly and quick. They have over 30 donut options to choose from, all with eclectic flavors and toppings. I went with a classic pink sprinkle, called the Little Pink which is anything but small. The frosting had great flavor but the donut itself was a bit dry. Could've been due to the fact they were closing in about an hour. The prices are about what you would expect being located on City Walk, paid around $10 for 3 donuts. The inside of the store has awesome decor and the donuts definitely make for a perfect social media post. It's great to come here after visiting the park and try something new! read more

Had to come here to try out their desserts I had previously been to the Texas location, which was incredible This place did not disappoint. It was a lot smaller, but everything was decorated. Super cute. Staff was so helpful and kind service was incredibly quick too. It was a really nice slow day. We got a box for the family and each donut was so big. You really get great quality product for the money you're paying my personal favorite was the stuffed chocolate doughnut it was fluffy light and the perfect amount of chocolate. read more
Donuts are huge and really sweet. Walked by here one night after dinner. Tried to ask what looked like a manager about their donuts. Trying to get her opinion on best sellers or what's her favorite. She walk pretty rude and dismissive and didn't want to talk. Not sure if she thought I was going to ask if I could come in. I had planned to visit the store in the morning and not be a jerk and try to weasel my way in at closing. Her attitude definitely could've been better. She we came in the morning after, the staff were more pleasant and very accommodating to questions about the products and flavors of donuts they sold. Place was small. Had 1 table inside and I believe 1 outside for seating. Donut was good. Really soft just really sweet. read more
What is not to love!!! Anyone can find their favorite donut. The staff is friendly even with all the questions we may ask. This location is at Universal City Walk. Enjoy a donut before or after a meal or movie. Perfect way to end your evening or even bring them home for the morning. There is a very small area for dining. Always enjoy this location. read more
Been couple years since tried in PDX, so just had to get again when at Universal. Super clean inside, and super friendly young man at the counter. There were racks of different donuts just behind the counter. I think maybe donuts here maybe fresher than PDX. We got the bacon maple bar, maple bar, and glazed old fashioned. The bacon maple bar with it's salty sweet combo still hits. ($5.50) Buttermilk bar was kinda too sweet for me. ($?) Glazed old fashioned ($2.50) was my personal favorite, since I'm a KISS keep it simple stupid type of a person. Basic done right, that's all I need. The Universal gold annual pass presented knocked 15% off the prices too. read more
There is no voodoo going on here at voodoo doughnut because this is the most delicious doughnut place in studio city!! Voodoo always impressed with their unique selections, delicious doughy bites and kind staff members. I think I'm always surprised how little these doughnuts cost. Just over $3, that beats anywhere in town for a *specialty* doughnut. That's two for the price of one in Silverlake at least! Also, you can use your Universal discount here as well. I think our doughnut came out to $2.95 which is insane!! This vibe here is so cute, punk rock, fun, and uplifting, it's like the best thing ever too when there's little to no line! It's not a coincidence that there's always a decent line here - the doughnuts slap! They're always fresh and make everyone happy. I love getting a doughnut before going into the movie theater!! After a fun-filled day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we passed by Voodoo Donuts on our way back to our car. We popped inside to check it out and ended up leaving with a box of fancy donuts. The shop has a LOT of pink decor, mixed with other vibrant colors everywhere you look. But the main draw here are the donuts, of course. Voodoo Donuts has SO many crazy elaborate donuts with just about anything you could want on a donut. Frosting, sprinkles, coconut, peanuts, peanut butter, bananas, cookies, candies, you name it, they got it. They even have one with cayenne pepper and a chili pepper on it. The staff was friendly and very efficient, the long line moved quickly, and we really enjoyed every one of our donuts over the next couple days. If you're in the Universal Studios Citywalk area, you gotta check out Voodoo Donuts. read more

During my time at Universal Studios, I knew this was a place I definitely wanted to check out! I was there near closing so they did not have much selection left, but the cashier was kind to explain which ones to try out. I tried the Little Pink, Sprinkle Cake and Fruit Loop Donut and they were all great. A little on the sweeter end but nonetheless was delicious! I recommend going first thing when they open and the donuts are fresh! 8/10 recommend! read more
We have been to several other Voodoo donuts including one in Portland and one at City Walk in Orlando. They seem to have the same donuts and are really reliable in the flavor department. There was a slight line when we got there, but it went very fast. The decor fits the Voodoo theme. Very cool place! read more
This is definitely a must every time we visit! Such unique doughnuts and so deliciously fluffy. We like to check out their limited time ones and really the only time we buy anything just so we can try it! This is located in CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood by the Chocolate Emporium (old Hard Rock location). This place used to get super busy with lines out the door. I'm sure they still have that every now and then but the last few times we've visited, we walked right up to order which was great! I absolutely love their maple bacon which you can find at a bunch of doughnut shops nowadays but it's always a must for me. They also have monthly specials so be sure to ask when you visit! It's a strawberry shortcake one right now (July 2025). The size of the doughnuts are pretty big too so it honestly feels like you're getting your money's worth. They have a few seats inside and some outside but I feel like most people take it home or eat upstairs in the food court, if you really want a table and chair. Looking forward to trying it! Voodoo Doughnut is a famous doughnut chain founded in Portland (Oregon) in 2003. I decided to visit this location at Universal CityWalk this past weekend. To eat, I ordered an ODB, which comes topped with Oreo cookie crumbles and peanut butter drizzle. Priced around $5, this definitely isn't the cheapest doughnut in town. Overall, I thought the doughnut was A-OK. I'm not in a rush to come back, but I'm happy I tried it. read more

I have to be a hipster and say the first time I visited Voodoo Doughnuts was in Portland Oregon. It was fantastic. So was this location! No lines, no swarms of people, just a peaceful Wednesday. I ordered the PB&J and the Mango Tango. Both were delish, but mostly can't stop thinking about the Mango Tango. There is a sour powder on top that adds a kick of fun deliciousness. I wish I could take a bite out of each doughnut. I'd do that for you, yelp. read more
Yes - these doughnuts are oversized! Have wanted to try them for years and happened to be at Universal for an event, and decided to give them a try. The glazed doughnut was really good and gooey! Loved their Voodoo Doll and they have some fun and creative designs for the holidays and weddings -- too cute! read more

Yes you do need to try a Voodoo Doughnut! I absolutely love this place, from the decor (never enough pink!) and unique vibe to the clearly marked vegan options and relatively fast moving line. Do yourself a favor and grab a VooDoo Doll before going into the park or watching a movie at the AMC across the way! read more
Been here several times and I've experienced highs and lows at this location. Lows: some of the doughnuts are overly oily and I can taste the oil. What does "taste the oil" mean? For me, it means the oil [used for frying the doughnuts] is not fresh and/or clean; it leaves a funky taste that overpowers everything. 2nd: some of the doughnuts are so darn sweet. Yes, I'm aware that doughnuts are supposed to be sweet but some of the doughnuts crazy sweet. Highs: the Maple Bacon Bars are the best (a bit too sweet but still my favorite). The selection of doughnuts is pretty extensive and a plus if you're into trying new flavors and varieties. This location is very clean and organized. They have a decent selection of merch. They have a couple of tables/chairs inside the store. Staff has been very patient when purchasing doughnuts and attentive when boxing the doughnuts. My other favorite was one of the February flavors, Limoncello Bombolone They have a couple of specials throughout the week (go through Universal Studios page for list of specials) and they do offer annual pass discounts (universal studios AP). Overall, I will still frequent this business and encourage you to give them a try. read more
They have all kinds of specialty donuts and flavors. So we like to explore new flavors. However I'm always most pleased with the apple fritter, the maple bar, and the glaze donut. Just give me the basics because their dough is solid and always perfect. It's crispy on the outside while pillowy on the inside. However the specialty flavors are VERY sweet and a little overwhelming for my taste buds. Also the flavorings have a bit of a bitter artificial after taste. It's not bad, and most people probably won't mind it. But I prefer something make simple. If you're wondering where to park it's on the opposite end of CityWalk from the theme park. Parking in Curious George or ET will get you the closest. But even if you park in Jurassic, you won't be that far and you'll get to walk and see more of CityWalk. The building alone is super cool and totally eye-catching in Pink and the whole place has amazing, quirky vibes. It definitely feels like more than just a donut shop.... it's part of the CityWalk experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering all my questions without making me feel rushed. With so many wild and creative options to choose from, I appreciated their patience! I also couldn't resist grabbing one of their cool tote bags! They have so much fun merch to choose from. It's hard not to leave with something extra. The Grape Ape donut is my absolute favorite. It's very grape-forward and definitely on the sweeter side, but in the best way. It pairs perfectly with a glass of ice-cold milk. If you love bold flavors and a fun atmosphere, Voodoo Doughnut is a must-stop when you're at Universal CityWalk! read more

I'm going to Universal Studios tomorrow (Sunday 8/13) and was wondering what time I should get to Voodoo to grab some donuts? I know Voodoo opens at 8am and was willing to stand in line if the wait is less than an hour.
As long as you go before about 9:00 it should be fine. Usually the line starts building up after that, have an idea of what you want, it makes ordering much quicker when you finally get to the front!
