    I was craving a blueberry fritter after trying it for first time in Portland, Oregon. Tried to find somewhere in LA that had it, I guess it's pretty rare around here. Lots of apple fritters, but not much blueberry. They had lemon blueberry fritter. I had to settle for that. I felt the blueberry flavor wasn't that great. Lemon was subtle as well. Portland's was a bit better. Small parking lot available. Wasn't hard to find on a Tuesday late morning. Probably wouldn't come back again, at least for the blueberry fritter. Some of their other doughnuts look not bad. Maybe I'll check it out if im in the area. On to my next store to find a solid blueberry fritter. 3.5/5.

    The only standout for me was the maple bar. It has a super light coating of maple glaze, but it is absolutely a perfect balance with the actual donut. Best maple I've ever had. The rest? They were fine. Nothing notable. I have other donut spots I'd go to if I wanted the usuals (Tasty's in Tarzana). The shop can be a little hard to get to during rush hour, since it's next to the 101 on-ramp. Luckily there's a small street in the back connected to a light. The shop is small, really more like a "walk up to the counter, order, then leave" type of space. Don't expect to get coffee and chill. But it's cute in there. Fun black and white tiled theme, which accentuates the color donut variety. If you haven't been here, you gotta try this place. From what I could see, this is a lot of people's guilty pleasure in LA.

    tl;dr the best varieties are wholly enjoyable and borderline-great -- but they simply cannot compete with LA's best doughnut-eries in price or sheer satisfaction Compared to many of Los Angeles's most highly rated doughnut shops, Kettle Glazed Doughnuts is a newcomer to the doughnut game. Like its mid-century modern decor, the doughnut philosophy at this North Hollywood shack is a modern take on classic -- the menu features traditional varieties with upscale finishes. The tiny parking lot feels like a game of Tetris. The drab concrete strip mall is a stark contrast to the eye-catching the interior. The long counter is decorated with alternating mint-green sequens and wooden slats. Wide windows let in plenty of natural light, and funky pumpkin-orange globe lights dangle from the cratered ceiling panels. The smell of fried dough dominates the air, and the space is ominously quiet without any music. Whether morning or afternoon, expect a steady trickle of customers. My partner and I have visited a few times, and our favorite doughnut has been the Croissant Style. Notable light and airy, it leaned more on the croissant side of the cronut spectrum. Between ample granulated sugar and a chocolate drizzle, the flavor reminded me a churro. Even though the doughnut was filled unevenly with vanilla pastry cream, I didn't mind; the doughnut itself was just as enjoyable sans cream. But, for all its positives, I still couldn't help wishing for one of the uber-dense, heavily frosted croissant-style rings offered at my favorite LA doughnut-eries. Meanwhile, we also enjoyed Kettle Glazed's rich and delicious Buttermilk Maple Old Fashion. Also good but less exciting was the bialy-shaped Fluffer Nutter. The generous scoop of marshmallow fluff and peanut butter frosting came across as pleasantly rich rather than overwhelmingly sweet, but the doughnut itself was only slightly above average in quality. Lastly, we couldn't stand the Blueberry Lemon Fritter. The large poof ball reminded me of a loaf of white bread; the blueberries were sparsely swirled in; and the lemon-forward glaze clashed with the blueberry bagel-esque base. I found myself picking at the glaze and ditching the bland refuse. Service is friendly and efficient. Most donut varieties run run $2-4, while the specialty cronut costs an eyebrow-raising $5. One of the Kettle Glazed taglines is "Always Fresh", and I'm not quite sure that I would agree; the doughnuts feel a touch old even first thing in the morning. Further, the steep prices, inconvenient location, and otherwise good-not-great selection will keep me from visiting again unless I'm already in the neighborhood.

    The donuts are somewhat creative. The parking is there but, it is shared with a few businesses so be patient. When you walk in and look to the right - you see the counter that displays the donuts. It very well organized. They have a few selections - mostly typical. They had a couple that made me take a second look. As I am new to the neighborhood, I dot. Have anything to compare this spot to. But, I like what they're offering here so I'll be back. Make this a quick stop for a tasty sweet treat - muffins, croissants, fritters, donuts, bars, etc.

    It's a clean small place with tight parking. The staff were friendly and provided recommendations. We got coffee, donut dots, blueberry lemon fritter and apple fritter! All tasted good but seemed day old or maybe since we came after 3pm morning items. Nonetheless good taste, good texture and blueberry lemon was a nice surprise! If in the area, give it a try

    I recently picked up half a dozen donuts from a local shop on the corner of Franklin and Argyle. The donuts are priced at $3 or more each, with a half dozen running you $15. The shop has a nice convenience factor, being open early and staying late, and the dogs are welcomed inside :) I tried a mix of flavors, including the glazed blueberry, glazed with sprinkles, and the cinnamon crunch glazed. The glazed blueberry was the standout--fruity and soft, but the glaze itself felt a bit too sweet and sugary for my taste. The glazed with sprinkles was visually fun, but the donut itself lacked that warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven feel, coming off as a little dry. The cinnamon crunch glazed, while flavorful didn't quite hit the mark in terms of texture--it was crunchy on top but a bit too heavy overall. Taste-wise, I'd rate everything about a 5/10. It wasn't bad by any means, but there was a noticeable lack of that melt-in-your-mouth quality that you'd expect from donuts at this price point. The shop itself could use some improvements as well--there are no restrooms for customers, which is a bit of an inconvenience, but if you're just popping in for a quick donut, it's not a huge deal. Overall, this donut spot is fine for a casual stop if you're in the area!

    Pretty good donuts here. Boston creme, ube, and pistachio creme were the best, the pistachio creme was mulit-layered, croissant like, and without a huge amount of creme but had a nice subtle flavor. Blueberry lemon was a bit too tart for me, and chocolate with sprinkles (for my daughter) was rather ordinary. Parking was a bit janky, but try the side street behind the store.

    Kettle Glazed does make some good Doughnuts. A bit out of the way for me, but glad I came by. Got a box a half dozen: Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Vanilla, Blueberry Lemon, S'Mores, Raspberry Filled, and Crumb. All were winners.

Donuts ran between $3.50-$4, & were soft, fresh, & made without cutting corners. I tried: -- Boston Cream Velvety Donut: true to its name, the chocolate coating was velvety smooth. Not-too-sweet custard filling. -- Maple Pig: classic sweet & salty combo, although after one bite, I preferred the bites without bacon; the maple glaze was so good, I didn't want anything interfering with its flavor. -- Margarita: make-you-lips-pucker tart from the lime glaze & lime zest. Definitely unique, & flavored exactly like the drink, minus tequila. -- Pineapple Fritter: I always expect apple when it comes to fritters so the pineapple was an unexpected twist. -- Vegan Coco Loco: my least favorite of the bunch. My tastebuds do not prefer vegan donuts, but the rest of my group raved about this one. Love that many of the donut's names -- Cumpleaños, Abuelita, Quinceañera, & Hotchata -- are a nod to Trejo's Mexican heritage. Looking forward to trying more flavors the next time I'm in LA.

Big fan of the Raised Glaze, ODB (Old Dirty Bastard), Maple Bar and others. Service at this location is warm, sunny and personable. It can get busy especially in the early AM and sometimes at late night. Open until 3am daily! The Ridiculous Baking Company, which sets up at various farmers markets, could be the running to start a brick-and-mortar shop. It certainly has the range and variety of products. That said, it's also not that good. I've been coming to them off-and-on for years. Most recently I got the spinach-mushroom hotpocket ($7) and a tempeh bacon hotpocket ($7). The spinach one was merely okay (albeit bland) and the tempeh bacon one was both sour and bland. We threw this one out after a few unappealing bites. The breakfast sandwich ($6) suffers from mealy bread, dry sausage patty and all-around mediocrity. The sugar donut ($3) is basically just a croissant in the shape of a donut. This isn't a bad thing, but don't bite into it expecting a Dunkin' replica (if you want that, go to Donut Friend in Highland Park or California Donuts on Hollywood Blvd). The almond croissant ($4) was superb, though---it's flaky, rich and filled with a wonderful almond paste. All in all, The Ridiculous Baking Company has mediocre products at high prices.
