I did not expect to be writing this review. Wifey wanted to buy our dog a breakfast sandwich because she (our dog) was undressing a random stranger's breakfast sandwich with her eyes at the park. She (Wifey) would only settle for a place with both breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos, knowing that I like breakfast burritos. So she handed me her phone with the menu for a donut shop up on the screen. I do love a chain of counterintuitive causality. And Wifey would not hand me a menu without some level of confidence in its offerings. Normally, I would go with the Carne Asada, but I guess I do hold reservations when it comes to donut shop Carne Asada. So I ordered the beef chorizo breakfast burrito. Now, half an hour later, I am completely full after 3/4 of said burrito. Alas, there is something about this thing that has me peeling back its foil every five minutes and taking another salsa drenched bite. The burrito is a collection of well prepared ingredients. That salsa now, being savory, earthy, a little tart, with poblano and cilantro flavors standing out in the purée, turns the whole affair into crave-able magic. Lesson learned: don't judge a book by its giant doughnut sign on the cover. Or something like that. Now where did I put those TCM herbs for when I eat too much and give myself stomach qi stagnation? Oh, both wifey and her dog loved their breakfast sandwiches as well. And the donuts are also top-notch. read more

Now that donuts are so expensive I have a new rule of thumb. They must be worth the calories and worth the price. These donuts pass the test on both! I can tell how good a place's donuts are by the quality of the apple fritter. The apple fritter here was perfect! Perfectly cooked on the outside, and very soft on the inside. It was filled with plenty of cinnamon and had just the right amount of apple chunks! So good! I also had a buttermilk bar. Again, a winner. No oily-tasting donuts here. Only good stuff! Love this place. Donuts are fresh and delicious and much better than the chains that have opened up nearby.

Food and doughnuts a 3, the service always a 5. The energy and customer service always great, they are quick and accommodating and always generous. Just the oil be sometimes not the best quality and ingredients could be upgraded BUT you are getting what you're paying for, so all good, its an occasional treat. I don't be eating sweets like that but I'm sure others love and the ingredients quality are what they are seeking. read more
