These aren't the best donuts in America (that title belonged to Stan's near UCLA). These are decent, but didn't donuts used to be $.89 and not $3.89? Each. Go here when you stroll through one of the best locations for a tourist family in LA. After or before the tacos, burgers, and fancy mall attached.

I absolutely love their donuts! I will travel just to have one. My favorite has to been the Big Texan! And it's BIG! We like to share it with a cup of coffee and enjoy people watching on a nice day out. Staff is always ready and willing to help. As it's at the grove the atmosphere can change from visit to visit. But it's just an over must have if you're in the area.

We came here to get validation for parking. Can't tell how it's different from Dunkin's, though, except for the steep price.

My wife and I were walking through the Original Farmers Market and decided to stop by Bob's for a sweet tooth fix. We went towards the end of the day, and they had a discount for end of day for what donuts were left, which was really cool of them! I went for their chocolate glazed and she tried the classic glazed. Both were excellent, and tasted fresh and homemade, with the perfect balance of sweetness. I appreciate that everything still tasted great, even at the tail end of the evening. Great, easygoing service, and a fun vibe!

Chris has amazing customer service! The doughnuts are so yummy!!! Not too sweet. Just right.

tl;dr the slightly above-average doughnut at least comes with worthwhile parking validation In Los Angeles, an independent doughnut-ery can be found on seemingly every block. But no best-of-LA list would be complete without mentioning Bob's Coffee & Doughnuts. This doughnut stalwart has called the Original Farmers Market home since 1947, and it was most "recently" updated by the namesake Bob Tusquellas in 1970. So it should come as no surprise that Bob's focuses on traditional doughnut varieties (the most "adventurous" of which are decorated to look vaguely like little kitties or dinosaurs) paired with an uncharacteristically modern coffee and tea lineup. As mentioned, Bob's is a longtime member of the Original Farmers Market. In short, the Fairfax District Market nowadays is an al fresco complex of specialty grocers and multiethnic restaurant stalls. The original clock tower and a historic neon sign stick out above the campus. Countless colored stalls are built into the whitewashed metal-and-wood structure. Many weather-resistant circular tables and lime green folding chairs are set up along the concrete between vendors. Bob's is located within the East Patio, on the Grove side of the Market. The ruby all-caps lettering pops against the narrow stall's coin-gray faux-shingled facade. The bright red signage and distinct aroma of fried dough stick out among Bob's more austere neighboring stands. Within the stand, the walls are lined with trays upon trays of doughnuts. My partner and I arrived mid-morning on a weekday. We faced a minimal queue, and the frill-free service was appropriately quick. I opted for Bob's famous oversized Cinnamon Roll. The large, fluffy pastry was well-iced outside, but the interior had only a modest cinnamon schmear -- the complete product was a rung higher than average, but nothing particularly memorable. The cinnamon roll set me back $3.50 -- a price that would feel excessive, except that the bill came with parking validation. As such, Bob's offered us a free (if not forgettable) bite of history during a window-shopping date around the Original Farmers Market and the Grove.

I ordered a hot plain latte. It was pretty good and the service was ok. Thought of getting a beignet but maybe next time.

Came here on the recommendation of some Reddit posts. Most were good reviews on their doughnut! To baseline, my favourite doughnut is a sour cream glazed doughnut. I like the sweet glaze on the outside, slight crunch from a good fry, nice fluffy moist dense interior. Original glazed raised doughnuts - This one unfortunately felt a bit old/not fresh. The inside was dry but fluffy and the exterior was not crunchy. The glaze was really good as it was slightly caramelized giving it a slight bitter note. Apple fritter - Another Reddit recommends. This one hit the spot! Nice crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Apple gIves a pleasant fruitiness as well. The fritter felt like a was doubled fried, fried a second time with the glaze on to give it a nice slight burnt flavour. Would highly recommend!

Good coffee and classic donuts! I love going to the Farmer's Market before most of the stalls open and getting a cup of coffee with a donut from Bob's. On cold morning's I look for the tables with a heater above them!

    NOT fresh. Got scammed
    Lisa N.

Just got scammed. Asked if lemonade was fresh before we ordered and the lady said yes. Turns out lemonade NOT fresh. Girl said it was but it was all powder and mostly syrup (you can even see the powder next to it). After I confronted the girl she rudely said "what do you want then? A refund? I don't make it, my manager does". Then why did you lie and tell me it is if you're not sure ??! Dishonest workers. Shame on you. Won't be coming back

Apple fritter was scrumptious! Your old school donut stand with all the stand bys. Located at the farmers market with some tables you can eat at or grab it to go!

    New Display Case @ Bob's

I used to love Bob's Coffee & Doughnuts -- for over 50 years!! They are still ok. However, something's happened to the quality recently. Perhaps new owners? There was a remodel of their space at Farmers Market in November 2025, including new display case, new baking equipment, and apparently new employees. Unfortunately, now the donuts do not look or taste the same -- especially the traditional "crumb-cake" donuts that my family has purchased for decades. It seems to be a different recipe now, or a lower grade of ingredients. I can't tell exactly what's going on, but it's not good. And the prices have increased by more than 10%. Please, Bob's, bring back the original "crumb-cake" donuts and all will be forgiven!

Excellent Americana! Clean! They were scrubbing when we were there. The service is froendly and fast. Excellent taste for the coffee and apple fritter.

    Beignet! Fresh and crispy!

We have someone vegan in our office, so this is perfect since their donuts are plant based, I believe. If I were a being of greed, I would have eaten more of their donuts, but since this was a special occasion and people genuinely wanted to eat the donuts (since sometimes I know that food is left in the breakroom for awhile if people aren't interested in consuming it), I only tried one donut. I got to try their Yo La Mango. Love the bright yellow, slightly tart mango glaze and the dash of Tajin on top. It's sweet, tart, and has a slight kick wherever the Tajin was sprinkled on. Never had a donut like this before. Would love to come in person to try out more of their donuts one day if I ever make the trek out.

He was the one taking the orders and preparing the orders. Even when it got a little busy, he was super nice and patient with everyone, specially us who kept asking questions about their products. We ordered the following: * Black sesame - this was my fave. It has black sesame with mochi and red bean paste and they all complemented so well. * Creme Brulée - very tasty with a little crunch from the creme brulée. Not overly sweet and with a generous amount of filling as well. * Coffee Creme Brulée - this was like the creme brulée with a hint of coffee. Almost like a mocha flavor. It was also good! * Pistachio - this was also really good. It was not overly sweet either, perfect filling ratio and complemented well with the bread. Overall, their donuts are definitely one for the books. It was soft and delicious. Amazing customer + amazing food = highly recommend it!
