Great, interesting donut flavors, with the Huckleberry donut being my favorite. It's a relatively small space, and donuts average around $5 each. The donuts are great, but I must say that I've been here about a dozen times already, and the staff does seem to be unhappy. No sense of urgency, no smiles. I'm always here around 5:00 pm, so maybe I just need to come earlier in the day. Please note: they are a cashless place.

Came by for some goodies today and definitely didn't leave empty handed. Coffee was on point and donuts were so fresh. Quick service and all the workers were so kind and welcoming.

An updated review: It's been nearly 5 years and I still come to this location steadily. I have family members asking specifically for me to bring a box of these for potluck. The price went up as expected with the times. But it's best to change your point of view on what kind of donut you get here. There are times when I can only eat half of a donut because it's full of flavor and I get full. I have bought three donuts, sliced them in to quarters and shared them with coworkers. Since my last review, they have developed an app. Download the app to accrue points for free donuts and drinks. (Oh that is another thing! Since my last review, they have been serving the best coffee and teas! They are just as well made as their donuts. My go-to drink is an iced vanilla latte but I have been so impressed with their seasonal drinks like the banana bread latte.) This particular location is also on the TooGood2Go app, where you can get discounted donuts at the end of the day. They make donuts fresh daily so you will be buying donuts made that day but didn't sell at closing.

It was my first time at this location. I was going to the Trader Joe's next door and then the doughnut sign caught my eye. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the entire staff with a hello and a smile. There was a huge variety of doughnuts and I was like a kid in a candy shop. Bree was helpful, and she pointed out the gluten-free doughnuts, and Symphony offered us samples. We finally decided on three doughnuts and a couple of drinks, again the staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a line but I don't feel rushed . Mario, Symphony, Bree, you ROCK!! There was one more staff member on duty but I forgot his name ‍‍

While doughnuts are not THE dessert I would pick up first thing, Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee HAS to be my favorite spot for classic doughnuts. I like places like Holey Grail for smaller, Hawaiian taro doughnuts or Donut Friend for vegan donuts, but my bestie and I really enjoy Sidecar trips. The service is impeccably amicable, you can sample one of their daily flavors while you wait/choose, and you also can take home pretty boxes and bags! Sometimes Sidecar is very peaceful but other times it's very crowded--it also depends on the size of the location. Beverly Grove's is one of my favorite locations because the service is among the friendliest--they even gave me a couple of birthday coupons--and they offer parking validation! Their donuts never disappoint though; their vegan cookie crumble donut was sublime! I also have tried their Truvani protein donuts in the past and I'm so sad they discontinued their collabs. If you're reading this Sidecar HQ: bring them back!

Vanilla latte

Had to stop by to grab a donut, I love Sidecar. It was my first time at this location, I've only ever gone to the one in Santa Monica. I ordered a butter & salt donut and a vanilla latte with oat milk - both were DELICIOUS. I was especially happy with my hot latte, it was made perfectly. The customer service was great. I just wish there was more seating available.

Custom 6 pack - huckleberry, vanilla glazed, strawberry buttermilk, white chocolate banana bread, passion fruit pavlova

It's been a while since I've had sidecar and I wanted to treat my kids with the custom 6 pack. I also got 2 of their lattes, and this was my first time trying their drinks. Huckleberry doughnut (8/10) - probably the most well known flavor from them, classic berry flavor White chocolate banana bread (7/10) - honestly just tasted like banana bread in a doughnut shape. It wasn't bad, but I just expected it to taste like banana and white chocolate and not just be banana bread Vanilla bean glazed (9/10) - classic, super fluffy glazed vanilla doughnut Strawberry buttermilk (8/10) - nice, real strawberry flavor and not too sweet Passion fruit pavlova (20/10) - DELICIOUS. If you try one flavor from here, please try this one. Super fluffy with a delicious passion fruit cream Pumpkin spice latte (10/10) - delicious, smooth latte with the perfect amount of pumpkin spice flavor Banana bread latte (10/10) - surprisingly delicious considering banana coffee drinks are tricky to get right. The banana flavor was subtle but in the best way Overall, the doughnuts at sidecar have some pretty unique flavors and are very flavorful. They have a lot of denser, cake doughnuts but they're still moist and delicious. I was also really impressed with their lattes because you don't often find places that have good doughnuts AND coffee drinks.

Butter and salt donut

It's good but expensive that's why I only have these when they show up for free somewhere. I'm not paying five for a donut even if it's gourmet. But by the Farmers Market they do just fine without me. Five stars for another free donut tho. One day I'll pay for them and lower my rating I'm sure.

Bayberry x Strawberry

I ordered two items - and have really conflicting reviews. I came in specifically to try out their seasonal Bannna Bread Latte and was extremely disappointed. Expresso came thru but no banana flavor at all. I was excited about the house made syrup but unfortunately it let me down. Maybe with another pump or two it could have made the difference. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to ask for that as I was already home when I came to the conclusion. Even their vanilla cold foam was super bland :( on the other hand... whoooooever came up with the Monte Cristo donut - I hope you find money in your pockets, your pillow sides are both cold, someone tells you how good you smell and all your bday wishes come true, because WHAT IS THIS INVENTION?? Don't know if the Monte Cristo "donut" originated at Sidecar or not, but they executed perfectly. Donut is kept warm and fluffy, gruyère cheese is perfectly melted while the smoked deli ham sits inside awaiting your first bite. And the jam.... the house-made raspberry jam is everything as it ties in the saltiness from the smoked ham and gives you all the flavors you're asking for. Definitely on the pricier side, but I don't mind paying for good treats out here in the world when it's worth it.

Really enjoyed their doughnuts! They had samples to try and the service was great. It is a physically small shop with a few seats outside. I ordered the huckleberry and the butter & salt. The huckleberry was my favorite with a nice sweetness and some crunchy bits that made it stand out. I also tried the banana bread latte, though I did not get much banana bread flavor and it tasted more like a regular latte to me. Looking forward to coming back and trying more flavors!

The hucklberry donut. Classic. Always a good choice !

Pro-Tip: Parking in the lot of the Trader Joes on 3rd street. Gets super congested, so you're probably gonna be parking in the back. Meter parking on 3rd street too if full. Still in the conversation for best donut in Los Angeles. Usually, I'm a leery of great spots franchising out, but it seems Sidecar has achieved this without sacrificing quality/service.... for now. I always recommend the huckleberry donut for first-timers. IMO, it's their best donut unquestionably. The buttery/berry taste definitely justifies the 5 dollar price. It's just a no-gimmicks all-around solid donut.

I think this is the pumpkin chai protein situation

Fancy a$$ donuts w/trash parking might be hella worth ur time. normally dont fck with designer donuts spots because they usually all hype, no flavor. But desperation hit. (probably due to the complete lack of sweets in my system before my colonoscopy that morning Ya girl was due for a hit of trans fats, oil, glucose, and all those other unpronounceable chemicals that keep our inner demons quiet. #Shhhhhhhh So, I downloaded the Too Good To Go app, and there it was: Sidecar Donuts, 4.7 stars. People seemed happy. Dropped the $6.99 and decided to roll the dice. Pickup was listed at 7:05 PM, but Google said the shop closed at 7. So I pulled up at 6:55, That's when I met Alex--#legend. If anyone from Sidecar is reading this, promote that man immediately. Great attitude, contagious smile, hella vibes. He let me know they only had five bags that night, so if I wanted one, I'd better stay close. off top, straight up Hero behavior. I waited in my car like a donut feign cuz clearly... I gotta be doing all this. At 7 PM sharp, I lined up. Three people ahead of me. Was feeling like a Victory. and it was. got my bag!!! Naturally, I couldn't wait till I got home, so I tore open the bag in my car like... a lil dumpster raccoon lol First donut? No idea what TF flavor was--kind of savory, maybe sweet potato? Possibly the Protein Chai Pumpkin. It was surprisingly fire. Woulda NEEEEVER picked it myself, but glad fate intervened i guess. The other two--probably Cinnamon Saigon and Butter & Salt--were a bit too stale to judge fairly, but that's the gamble with Too Good To Go. You're getting the late-day leftovers, not peak donut. so like... how mad can u be fr fr? Still, the texture was solid--nice and cakey, which matters because I have zero patience for fluffy bs... #KrispyKremeBullshiiii-- soooooo I'm going back. Not for the app bags tho for fresh "just made" donuts. For $7, I got five solid donuts and a genuinely great customer experience. Gotta drop 4 stars -- because Alex's customer service was immaculate, and these donuts deserve a fair shot fresh for being so good stale.

I ordered the box of 6 custom doughnuts. Strawberry, Brumbleberry, Bourbon Pecan Pie, and Vanilla Iced with Sprinkles. As a self proclaimed doughnut connoisseur, these doughnuts are delicious. The cake doughnuts have a unique flavor as the base has almond flavor. Although cake based, they are not too sweet. They are literally just right. The fruit in the berry doughnuts is unsweetened and adds a nice fresh balance of tang to the cake. The yeast doughnut however was disappointing. As you can see in the photos, the outside was burnt. And not just looked burnt but tasted burnt as well. You can also tell by how I was able to peel the outside off and eat the inside, that this doughnut was cooked improperly. I wouldn't say that it was overcooked because the inside was perfect, but the oil was too hot. Yeast doughnuts should not be the same color as cake doughnuts bc yeast dough cooks faster than cake batter. Overall, I would return because their cake doughnuts are one of a kind.

Ask the Community - Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee

What kind of oil does sidecar donuts fry in? I have a soy allergy and can't have vegetable oil.

According to their website: "We fry all our doughnuts in organic, sustainable palm oil."

Does the inside have air purifier(s) and/or central air conditioning (HVAC) running throughout the day to filter indoor air?

How do you contact this location, especially when they mess up your order and no one answers the phone at the store?

U have to go in sadly

Is there a May promocode for BOGO?

If I go in around 4 pm will all the donuts till be available and how do I ensure that I get the freshest donuts?

Yes they will. They bake them all day. Once you get there, ask which ones are the freshest. The least fresh are still pretty dang fresh.

Are you guys open yet or have an opening date in mind?

Seriously slow! Like what is the point of having the order ahead app?

Now, on to the cafe itself! Verve offers a variety of drinks along with pastries for sale, and they even hosted a cookbook popup during my recent visit. Unfortunately, Community Goods is worth the hype and I will be coming back and waiting in line haha…read more I went for the first time a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and waited 1.5 hours. The line is not for the faint of heart. I tried their matcha einspanner, breakfast sliders, and pistachio toast and all three were AMAZING. - Matcha Einspanner: One of the best matchas I've ever had! The matcha is so well balanced - you can actually taste the matcha, not too sweet, and creamy too. They also sprinkle sea salt on top which helps enhance the matcha flavor. My only complaint is that I wish the cup was bigger. - Breakfast Sliders: I wasn't expecting much from the sliders, but everyone always hypes up their slides, so I knew I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The egg is so fluffy and the sauces that come with it are so delicious, especially their hot sauced. I added bacon and avocado too and it was great. - Pistachio Toast: I feel like their pistachio toast is not talked about enough. It was so yummy and satisfying that I wish I could get another one. The toast is hearty and the pistachio spread with sea salt, olive oil, and olive oil is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about their toast. Although it is quite pricey, I think the taste and quality justify the price. The interior is small and there's about 6 tables outside which is pretty crowded so you might have to take it elsewhere to enjoy.
