For a novelty donut shop that's inside Simpson's Land at Universal Studios, they make one helluva donut! This is just a walk up window, with friendly service and all donuts being pre boxed and ready for you to devour. These donuts are huge; about 6-inches in diameter and are perfect for sharing with family or eating half now and saving the rest for later. They offer four styles of Lard Lad donuts like the classic pink sprinkled donut, chocolate glazed, maple bacon, and a Oreo topped donut. We ordered, "The Big Pink" which is the classic Homer donut. This might be one of the softest, flavor filled donuts I've ever eaten. It had a generous coating of pink frosting and tons of sprinkles. My family and I shared this treat and we all loved it! We had to get a doughnut here after riding The Simpsons ride. The iconic big donuts are must get at Universal Studios! The Big Pink - This is probably one of the most worth it foods we got at Universal Studios. It was HUGE and only about $11. It could easily feed 4 people for dessert. The texture of the doughnut was great, and it wasn't too oily. The glaze on top was a little bit too sweet for my taste, but my husband and friend loved it! Overall, this was a crowd favorite that we would definitely get again! read more

We make a stop here whenever we come to Universal Studios. The daughter's favorite "Big Pink Donut" is automatic and the whole family knows it. Me, I'll have the regular glaze. The donuts are fresh, made consistently throughout the day. The service is pretty fast though it's always a line. Located near the Simpson Ride, you get the vibe you are in Springfield with the surrounding shops and stores. read more

Every time we visit Universal Studios Hollywood it's a must to stop by and pick up some Lard Lad Donuts. Today's visit surprisingly, the line wasn't long. There were only 5 people waiting in front of me at 6pm on a Friday. Lard Lad Donuts is usually packed with the line so long it wraps around the other side. As always, the chocolate flavored Lard Lad Donuts was delicious. Not too sweet and it was fresh, moist and just yummy. It's a good enough size for 3 to 5 people to share. Mid visit at Universal Studios my Fiancee and I were very hungry. We were in Springfield area and decided to try this place. We both had not been to Universal in over 15 years, so all of this was new. Boy were we in for a surprise. We each got one. She got a chocolate with sprinkles, and got a maple with real bacon pieces. Each one was as big as our face almost. Neither of us could finish ours. We only ate a bout half of our own. If you in that section, then you have to try one of these donuts!!! read more

Lard Lad Donuts is located in Universal Studios Hollywood. My family and I were eating lunch of at Simpsons Land and this happened to be right next to Krusty Burger. Decided to step out here and grab a donut while we waited for our food to be called up. I think I lucked out on the line as there were only a few people in front of me and I was able to get a donut in less than 10 minutes. They have a handful of fun flavors available. I got The Big Pink which is a giant donut the size of your head with sweet, pink creamy frosting, and rainbow sprinkles just like in The Simpsons. It was big enough to share with my whole family. I know it was pretty gimmicky, but I loved the show growing up and I had to have it and try it, Lol. It comes in a white cake box and seeing the big pink donut just made me smile and reminded me of my childhood (my mom used to bring me donuts after work, haha). The donut it self was soft, moist, and surprisingly pretty good. I wasn't expecting to be mind blown, but it tasted like your standard donut and I enjoyed it! Giant donuts! Definitely a novelty item worth trying at least once. My fiancé always has to get one whenever we come to the park. We got the giant pink donut first thing in the morning last week. I figured it was a photo op gimmick, but the quality was way worse than I expected. More like dry bread than actual bread donut. A fairly well priced and decadent treat in wonderland! Although it's been a while since I've eaten these delicious treats, the donut here was extremely generously sized, sweet (but not overly) and textured well. I opted for the original given I'm not usually a fan of chocolate donuts. It was definitely worth the wait! Largest donut I have ever seen, but also the best donut I have ever had. That being said, I don't want to have another donut for at least a year! At 3000 calories per donut, this thing would feel 4-6 people, but my husband and I happily finished it. Don't forget the get milk! We had the cookies and cream on and it was delicious and light. Surprisingly pretty good! The chocolate glazed was too sweet for me but my husband, kids & relatives said it was just the right amount of sweet. It took awhile to get our order from the mobile app. Although they sell these donuts at the Simpson store & a couple of stands. Lard Lad Donuts are a fun thing to grab while you're in Simpsons Land at Universal Studios. They have giant versions of donuts (like the size of a pizza, but a donut!), and some small donuts that you can get as a single or four pack. However, that's really the only thing they have on offer, so it's worth a quick stop if you want a giant donut, but not much else (just Duff Beer and coffee/soda that you can get anywhere in the rest of Universal) I feel like some of the other restaurants and shops in Simpsons Land have more theming going on compared to this. So I recommend getting the giant donut for the comedy of it, or the smaller donut/s if you're really just feeling like a donut treat. But just be aware this is a counter shop with not much theming like most of the rest of Simpsons Land. read more

Super long lines for doughnuts that aren't even fresh. They are iconic and they are filling at $10 each! Probably one of the lower priced food options here in the park. They now have this chocolate doughnut with chocolate sprinkles that's new. The iconic pink one is still there and the most popular. 3 stars for super sugary old tasting doughnuts. read more

I've tried many a times to try to love the donuts here but it's literally a hit or miss no matter what time of day it is you can either wish for a fresh donut or get a dense soggy donut made probably the day before . I think I remember once picking up the donut only to find runny chocolate syrup underneath.... Definitely not fresh ! Hate it when a donut leaves a chalky pasty feeling or frosting in your mouth just gross . Needless to say the best time to grab a donut is around 11 scarf it down and then get on the rides... generally around that time there is no line at Lardlad ... however often times there is only one employee so again hit or miss on service. It's definitely a touristy thing to do , I'd say go for it and try it out just my honest opinion I eat it almost every time I visit Universal sometimes it's good and sometimes it's just not . read more

Great little spot. Comfortable, pretty quiet all things considering, and coffee that is relatively well priced compared to other spots in here. Window service, and wow, the donuts are fluffy due to some kind of sorcery. I never expected for an amusement park donut to be so good, but the chocolate donut was out of this world! When I walked by Lard Lad Donuts and saw the monster-sized donuts, I knew I had to get it. The girls and I agreed on the chocolate donut to share and after splitting it up we ate it and it was ON POINT! This is a great place to stop while at Universal Studios! We ordered 'The Big Pink' donut inspired by The Simpsons. It was huge! We were able to split it into 4 large pieces to share with our fam. Delicious, large donuts! Would recommend stopping by if you are having the craving for a sweet snack while at Universal. Had my doubts about the quality given the large size that can mess with the consistency and texture, but the donuts were soft and delicious. The size is huge so can certainly share one serving with others. We ordered via the Universal app, which did not update us when our order was ready. When we stopped by the stand, our order was waiting or us in a bag though we needed to wait in the regular line to be helped. Not sure if it was just this day, but a kink that should hopefully be worked out. The cafe has adjacent outdoor seating with umbrellas to enjoy your goodies. read more

When I tell you this is the best donut I've ever had I absolutely mean it. We came to universal for spring break and we HAD to get donuts for my little Simpson's fans. The donut was so doughy and so huge for $9.99. Legitimately the best thing I bought on our whole trip. There was quite the lines but well worth it. Walked in yesterday around 3:30 pm almost closing time and they didn't have any chocolate croissants but, had many other donuts, bagels, sandwiches, croissants, all types of hot and cold beverages including, latte, espresso, coffee, tea, water and you get the point. The lady behind the counter gave me the 2 fresh, yummy donuts and I walked out. Inhaled both donuts at the same time. Will definitely return soon. About the croissants, I hope they will have it next time I go back. Hopefully soon. They also have vegan/gluten free options. Place was very clean, with clean tables and chairs, gender neutral restroom..also clean; and, unfortunately no patio seating. Parking shared with 5 other businesses.

Additionally, the staff is welcoming and kind. The food is made to order and was no busy at the time of my arrival (between 8-10am) Price range is easy 11-30 per person, but it is well worth it. I paid $30 for 1 fresh juice, a croissant breakfast sandwich and plain bagel with cheese (I did tip like $2). We were full for hours and right on time with our schedule eating, so yes, I will come back here again if I am in the area.

Their red and yellow striped building is impossible to miss. Located in the back of the hut is a small parking lot. I stopped by before work to pick up some donuts and was pleasantly surprised by their selection. They have all the classic donut flavors and then some Asian inspired ones. Matcha, Thai tea, coconut, and some other ones that were sold out when I arrived. They also have giant sized donuts too! The woman at the front was super friendly and gave me a quick run down of their breakfast menu. Ill definitely be back in the future!

Even though the case was filled with colorful, beautiful, fresh, delicious donuts. One bite, and I was in HEAVEN! Daniella, was so modest/humble that didn't tell me that she baked those donuts. Clara told me. Nice music playing at the shop. Quaint, medium size shop. A lot of to go orders, but the shop was empty. Better for me, had my donuts, and the place all to myself.
