Otherwise if you promise to be good, the Prince makes awesome donuts. The glazed twist was as soft as a nursing baby's source of nourishment. The powdered donut filled with lemon was as comforting as a kitten's purr. We didn't stop at that! We plowed through an apple fritter that was nice and crisp with a gooey center. They have the most excellent coffee bar too. They hand you a cup and then help yourself to one of about a dozen varieties. Ain't nothing about this place screams donut prince! The lady cooking or the owner even acknowledged me walking in. No Smiles no hi no nothing. Waited a long time for my breakfast sandwich. Got 10 donut holes he was charging me over $17 highest priced donut shop I've ever been to. I gave him back the donut holes to get my money back and went to Dunkin. I grew up seeing the 'don't get a divorce, get a donut' commercial so when I was driving through Burbank with my kids & saw Donut Prince with my kids, I knew I had to stop so I turned around and drove in to the parking lot. I will say, right off the bat, that the parking lot for this & the other few businesses is very small. The lot is big, but most of it is designated just for the pharmacy so be ready to have to either park on the street, or circle around a few times until a spot opens up. The interior of the shop is very narrow and long. There is minimal eating space, but that's fine because most people are going to be getting food to go anyway. I was instantly surprised with now extensive their menu is. From doughnuts to sandwiches and one of the widest selection of teas I have ever seen in a restaurant, they have it all. Luckily for my we came in to get doughnuts so I didn't have to ponder which of the great looking sandwiches I wanted to get. My kids appreciated all of the specialty donuts they had with colors and shapes while I went with just a classic sugar glazed. Everything tasted fresh and warm despite it being around 2pm on a weekday. This isn't a shop where they just cook everything in the morning and then things last as long as they do. Prices are a tad high, but unfortunately gone are the days of doughnuts for under $1. It just is what it is. I'm sure there's also a bit of an inflation going on because they know they're a well known local icon & can get away with charging a bit more. The woman working the counter was friendly but was keeping herself busy until we verbally said we were ready to order. I'm assuming she's used to people needing time so she just keeps herself busy until then. But she was friendly and helpful. I have absolutely no complaints. Doughnut shops are a dime a dozen in Los Angeles. Donut Prince knows their niece but they're definitely not letting their commercial fame run the show. They're still providing fresh, tasty breakfast snacks and are for sure worth a quick pitstop if you are in the area. read more

I've has been in Burbank resident for such a long time. on my way home from school back in the day. I have my favorite donuts at Donut Prince. The one with lots of chocolate chips on top. I love supporting small business. The staff is super friendly. I keep going back because one day I forgot my wallet and he just told me pay me later so that was a great marketing tool because I went back the next day and got more donuts. On this last visit, I just picked up a couple donuts and they were great as always. The workers are super friendly and work hard keeping the place running smoothly. For the last few months I've been a regular patron at Donut Prince. The decor is nothing special, but they have a nice vibe and celebrity pics on the wall from when celebrities used to go there when the parents use to run the shop. The two Hispanic ladies (one with a short bob and the other who wears glasses) who usually run the place are friendly, professional and hard-working. No complaints there. However, today, in addition to a doughnut and my usual sandwich, I asked for my usual Frapp (sugary flavored coffee) and with "half ice." The reason I ask for half ice is that the workers are trained to fill the cup with ice so they can give you less coffee. You wind up getting a lot less coffee that way. Well, I'm not paying the high price for a cup of ice. I'm paying for the coffee. So half ice please. Today, they tell me the owner wants to charge an additional dollar if someone asks for half ice. Oh really? So I'm already paying the high price for coffee, but to actually get a cup of mostly coffee (and not so much ice), I have to pay a dollar more? That's petty and greedy. No thanks. I'm not paying for a cup of ice. They just lost a regular customer. That's bad business. I hope it was worth it. There are dozens of doughnut shops. This is just one. In this climate where businesses are trying to find every way to overcharge you already, find one that doesn't price gouge you further for trying to get what you already paid too much for. read more

I recognized it was the iconic spot with the hilarious commercial on instagram. Well, sadly the experience was not a good one. I received a hard/burnt apple fritter that the cashier refused to exchange or just give me a different donut of the same value. I told her to touch it cause it was has hard as a brick, she said she would give me a regular donut to replace it of lesser value and thru it in trash. Do I yelp much anymore, no--would I had ever thought I'd yelp about a local donut joint, never--until today. $6 dollars for a illegitimate "cronut" is crazy, especially at a local neighborhood donut shop that doesn't list their prices (that's more expensive than sidecar and voodoo) and especially if it's just a small, regular donut, with the flavor, texture and greasiness of a microwaved store bought croissant, molded into a circle and glazed (which honestly, if they're not already doing, they might as well do that). The sticker shock I had was crazy because it's just 6 bucks but honestly it's the principle of it--the real cronut in NYC is 10 bucks and pretty much needs to be shared. It's so crispy, flakey and perfect. This morning, I wanted to treat myself to something bad for me and it was the McDonalds next door that I was heading to until I saw this donut shop. Had no idea they are overpriced as F and mid as heck. Calling that a cronut is a travesty to all bakeries, fancy or not. never thought I'd be writing a review about a donut shop. I ordered a croissant sandwich just egg cheese and ham. A classic right? ehhh wrong! As I'm getting ready to pay the lady asks if I would like mayo I said yes? I never thought she'd just give me a mayo sandwich. The mayo was dripping out of the croissant. If I knew she gonna serve me an insane amount of mayo I would have never said yes in the first place. I call them hoping I could get a remake. for my luck the lady that did my sandwich answers and I ask her if I could possibly get a remake she says no and goes to tell me if I would to go to McDonalds I'd get it handed it the same way? I got my sandwich done by them not McDonald's? As I'm on the phone with her she goes to tell me she has a costumer and hangs up on me? Neighborhood donut shop that has excited for many decades. This shop is open 24/7 with fresh daily donuts and pastries. I always love coming here to enjoy fluffy donut holes and a glaze donut. The staff seems like family and just by sitting in my booth a young lady (maybe owner or associated ownership) talked story with the people. It felt like a cozy place with pride in their relationship with the community. People who come here all seem familiar with the shop and come and go with a smile. I live in Studio City and saw a facebook ad for this place and went today. I have a Cambodian friend who said that Cambodians make the best donuts (her parents had a very successful donut shop near the airport but that is too far for me to drive). I purchased the crumb donut because getting a cake donut really tells me whether the donuts are properly made. These are absolutely perfect in crumb, moist, and delicious. I also purchased the apple fritter. Also perfectly done. That's when I spied the almond cookies. Yes, the almond cookies of lore that used to be served in Chinese restaurants, now long gone. If they're not the doppelganger of those those bygone days, they are as close as you're ever going to get. Don't miss this rare treasure If you get a chance. Not only are you supporting a small business but you're having the best donuts in Burbank. They aren't processed plastic tasty garbage like Krispy Kreme. They're the real deal. It's wasting a ton of space both with its booths and antiquated kitchen. Everyone you know loves this place despite not having five stars. Honestly if this place took some design cues from similar spots in Silver Lake, Austin or Portland I could see this place getting even more business than it does right now. I always see people there, whether it's 12AM or 12PM. Change the awning and paint, update the interior just a bit. Replace the booths with some cute lounge furniture and relaxed lighting to make this what Starbucks used to be. A cute little place to sip coffee, get a donut and write. I do think maybe they should only do donuts and coffee, I know they also do sandwiches/breakfast but I wonder how much business that actually brings in. I've been to a good amount of mom and pop donut shops however the prices here are on the steeper side. We got the chocolate cruller, glaze cronut, and the glaze donut with the black/raspberries totalling over $13. While they're tasty, it doesn't really taste good when it's almost the same price as a decent meal. Other shops offering the same menu around the SGV charge me $13-$15 for a dozen donuts. I guess the shop is popular among celebrities since there are photos plastered around the wall. Probably explains the markup on their menu. Staff was friendly and it's nice they're open late night. This used to be one of my favorite spots to go to when I was in high school! The donuts taste amazing and so do their breakfast sandwiches. Sadly, they are only getting 2 stars as I went in today and one of the workers who was serving people, was not wearing a mask. And by the looks of the rest of the reviews, it seems it has been this way for a couple of months now. This is not the right way to be serving people. I understand some people may not agree with wearing masks, but now it looks like you don't even care about your customers. Because of this, I cannot support this business anymore which is truly sad.
