Ambiance here usually busy mornings, staff works quickly to get orders out. However, I received my donut holes a dozen for $2 with change. They weren't as fresh and were on the soggy side, not as fluffy or crisp as I have had them in other places. 2/5 Coffee is basic here I have had it, maybe if they started offer other types of creamers then it would enhance their coffee. I'm not a fan of coffee mate and that's what they offer here. They also offer small catering services I.e. coffee, donuts, juices, etc for meetings but my friend said the cost is on the expensive side. Other than that, it is reliable in the sense that it stays open late during the day/evening so in case you need a quick bite, they offer sandwiches as well. read more

The donuts were for my 12 year old. A little treat before his late start day. Here were his sentiments: The donuts were crispy on the outside, yet melted in his mouth. The donuts had "premium stuffing gunk." Several nods of approval were had. I had a bit of the fruit/cream filled pastry. It was flaky and buttery! Dense but light all at once. I also liked the brush of cinnamon sugar on top. Nice touch. The surprise for me was that they had protein shakes on the menu. Saw a big container of whey protein. The lady behind the counter was lovely. There were lots of customers, but she worked fast. There's a small seating area to the left of the counter. There was ample parking when I came, around 11am. I'll be adding Jolly Donuts to my "need a quick treat" spots. read more

This donut shop has some of the freshest and tastiest donuts. I love their staff, so friendly, cordial and they remember their customers. I've been here about 3 times and the staff remembered how my favorite donut is the buttermilk. If you haven't tried their buttermilk donut, YOU NEED TO RIGHT NOW. It's the best I've had EVER. Plenty of parking and lots of donuts to choose from! Check them out if you're in the area read more

This donut shop has come in so handy for a quick pick me up or teacher/work/class appreciation treat! It's just a block from my house. They make no frills donuts that are always fresh and delicious. You won't find any crazy animal shaped donuts or cronuts at this place. It's a family owned business and they are very friendly. Located in an outside complex that has ample parking. They take cash and unlike other donut shops they also take cards and Apple Pay. My only complaint is the price. Didn't realize that it went up quite a bit. I got a dozen mixed donuts for teacher appreciation week, they threw in a few donut holes, and paid nearly $20. I get the inflation prices but that's a little crazy to me. read more

1 1/2 minute read: MANY YELPERS normally will not have a planned itinerary, when they visit establishments. At least I don't. Meaning, with JOLLY DONUTS, I didn't specifically PLAN on going there. While driving, I happened to be dreaming about my two favorite MAPLE BAR &POWDERED LEMON FILLED. Then, without expecting it, I saw the Jolly Donut shop. Parking is not that abundant but I didn't have trouble looking for a space. Their menu offers all the favorite donuts people may like. The also have cold/hot sandwiches, cookies, Thai Tea, drinks and H2O too. I usually ask the The Attendant their name, but I forgot. That day, the Cashier was a young beautiful lady, courteous, and service minded. When I stumble there again, I'll make sure I introduce myself and ask THEIR name. read more

I tried Too Good To Go app and took a chance on this place which was near or on the way to the place I was. Nice quiet place ... quite empty as they are closing in 15mins they have probably 10 extra boxes of donuts sitting on the side for the App people to pick up one...Basically the donuts were sweating already meaning a bit old but can be revived by air frying it. Overall value for 6bucks for 9 stale donuts is not worth the money...I would go to Big Jim's which will give you fresh donuts too...won't go back... read more

so, once again, the TooGoodToGo app, delivered yumminess via Jolly Donuts in the valley. omg, the box was packed to the brim with delectable treats that were purchased to thank the dog groomers that cared for my pup yesterday. my pup had surgery recently and the TLC that @Andy's Pet Grooming on Riverside in sherman oaks, gave to him, was very special. he really required a lot of extra support for the grooming appointment and i wanted to thank them properly and not just with a cash tip. back to jolly donuts tho...the woman at the counter was so kind and pleasant. the experience was perfect and i will be referring to others as well as going back when decadent sweet treats are needed. i say needed because let's face it, delicious donuts are always "wanted". gotta show a little restraint. right? read more

Close to my dads house, I stopped by to get ham&cheese croissants. There were 2 flys just landing on top of the croissants and donuts flying inside the shelves. I asked the owner if she could make me fresh ham & and cheese. I didn't want the one already made behind the shelves. She agreed and went straight to the shelf again to get a plain croissant to make my ham and cheese. Unbelievable! Dirty countertop and really bad customer service. Unsanitary. I would not go there again. read more

(Dined 02/18/15 W @ 3:30pm): No bearded fat jolly man in a red velvet suit, but a middle-aged woman more than filled the happy quotient! I'd been hankering for an apple fritter and boba for awhile now, and the contractor I was to meet in the area was running late, so I decided to walk to Jolly Donuts to finally satiate my urges for these sweet treats. I usually had my go-to places for each, but not being familiar with the offerings in the neighborhood, I took a shot. So, here was how things went: Apple Fritter ($1.75) - Not that I'm an apple fritter snob by any means, but there was a certain way I liked mine and sadly they didn't fulfill that. First off, I thought they didn't have any until the kind woman pointed them out to me; they looked like gigantic round glazed donuts. And, there were hardly any apple bits that warranted its name. I liked mine with plenty of apple pieces, an overall darker brown fried color and with crunchy odd corners, nooks and crannies that were easily broken off as small little morsels. Needless to say, this one realy disappointed me. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw [BOBA ALERT - 3 of 5 STARS] Mango Boba - Small ($3.25) - If this was a small (based on the price), I wondered what the large looked like! With that being said, there was obvious value. The drink was filled with an abundance of boba but not so much that it took over the container. But, the boba was a bit too chewy for me as if I were eating a Tootsie Roll. The mango flavoring appeared to have real tiny bits of fruit, but overall, the flavor was muted, weak and not very sweet at all. Not a deal-breaker but I simply wanted it to taste more like mango. I'd give them another shot with a different flavor. Service - I was the only customer at the time, so as soon as I entered and tripped the door chime, poof, out from behind a wall a kind Hispanic woman appeared. She quickly took my order, immediately gave me my apple fritter in a bag, and deftly created my mango boba drink right before my eyes. Minutes later, my drink was done, I paid, and off I went to enjoy my snack at a nearby table. Easy-peasy. Parking (Free) - They shared a small lot with a handful of other businesses in a rundown strip mall at the corner of Coldwater Canyon Ave. and Vanowen St. Otherwise, there was plenty of free parking on all surrounding streets (please be mindful of any posted signs). Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Your typical donut/drinks/sandwich stand with the main feature the counter display of fried tasty pastries as you entered http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=k961Lkd1KM2n5L3YmIvZ8A, various packaged snacks placed on top of said counters, a refrigerator with cold drinks to your right and an old skool menu on top of it http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=AEWbN4WYa1iK-WSuN926bA, I think an ice cream cooler to your left, the kitchen directly behind the same counter http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=kLf11jymshqTMaGZTGhX_w, color drink menus up on the wall http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=bbratekM7KqULsijxO9P-g, and some random pages torn from a 2014 Asian women models calendar hung on the pastel green walls in the dining area. The dining area was quaint http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=PA0p7w9KnBTrWdlSLkuSvA while there was also an outdoor table, too. Natural lighting came through the large glass windows while fluorescent electric lighting hung from the ceiling. There were no TVs, but music played in the background. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Jolly Donuts filled the required needs for sustenance, and if I needed some boba I'd consider this joint when I'm back in the area...but no on the apple fritters. The other standard donut offerings looked fine, and they also made simple sandwiches. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total bill was around $5.45 before tip). Cash only, so of course they didn't accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 3.0 STARS read more

In a neighborhood inundated with donut dispensaries, I have a few basic qualifications: 1) Good ham & cheese croissants (croissant must use real butter, be different from bread, contain ACTUAL swiss cheese) 2) Inviting shopkeeper with basic customer service skills. 3) Reasonably strong, fresh coffee Donut mongers achieving those three earn a 4 star rating in my book. I really like Jolly donuts though they only pass the latter of the two tests. For all of your donut, rather than croissant needs, they are just fine. One note- Jolly Donut has the distinction of not one, but TWO fiberglass tables outside, complete with fiberglass umbrellas. Fancy. read more

Yeeeeeeeah. I was back on Friday morning at around 5:30 am after an unexpected session with God's gift to this earth. Taking advantage of the 2 week work/school break and what better way to relieve stress and relax than to get faded. Anyways, hit up the spot with a homie of mine and got our half dozen and milk. The guy working the place is so chill knowing of our current psychoactive state. Wished us a Happy New Years and back to business. Unfortunately, I kept it simple and again went for the jelly-filled sensations. YO! They got rid of their arcades! Still kept a 4 star in my book though for satisfying taste at an unsatisfactory time of the day. Deuce. read more

childhood donut place that my daughter loves going to now. no frills or crazy cronuts/toppings/ingredients here. just your old fashioned cambodian owned fried dough establishment with cheap quasi shitty boba and delicious looking sandwiches. always busy between 6am-8am with the usual laborer crowd and the school kids that are running in to grab a nutritious meal lol love the place though. sticks to the core competency and has a bit of nostalgic feel for me every time i go. read more
