WOW! It's hard to put into words just how amazing Silver Spoons Catering is. They were instrumental in making our wedding so special last month. Scott & his team were SO friendly, SO professional, and SO willing to help us make our wedding perfect. They really went above and beyond for us throughout the entire time we worked together. Scott was quick in his responses to our hundreds of questions over the past year and always provided detailed responses via email or over a phone call if needed. They welcomed us to a private tasting a few months earlier where we met more of the team and got a chance to try lots of options from their menu! We were so happy with our selections as the food was one of the most complimented parts of our wedding... especially the late night french fries!!!!! Not only did they handle the catering but they also handled our welcome area for guests with cheese and champagne, our bar all night, cake, napkin folding, moving chairs, the list goes on and on. THANK YOU TIMES A MILLION!!! We would recommend Silver Spoons to anyone and everyone. read more

Steve and I want to thank Scott Tessler and his entire team from Silver Spoons for making Sunday's Open House to Meet the Baby [our new grandchild] a truly special occasion for us, and one where we felt as if we did not have to lift a finger! Silver Spoons made everything happen, put the numerous gorgeous bouquets that people brought away in the perfect vases, which Scott or his team somehow found on their own without bothering me. They made everything look delicious despite the unbelievable heat, and then, on top of everything else - everything WAS delicious and delightful. The food was fantastic. And Scott Tessler and his team all talked to our guests in such a nice way. It was fun to have them there. We have used Silver Spoons intermittently over the years - for our daughter's wedding in Malibu in 2015, and now again, to introduce her baby to our friends and family. I'm beginning to think we should do this more often - the results from Scott and Silver Spoons are outstanding. After our event was over, exhausted, we came back to our kitchen, and discovered scads of perfectly wrapped leftovers - Steve and I simultaneously went hunting for that incredible mustard - oh, no, did they leave us some? Yes! You left us a significant amount, nicely wrapped up. And you cleaned up the kitchen beautifully! Even mopped! Everything was left in perfect order. I've been enjoying all the leftovers now for a few days. We have already given Silver Spoons' contact information to one guest at the party, who was very impressed with its work. Many of our guests were already familiar with Silver Spoons from their experiences at University Synagogue (now part of Wilshire Boulevard Temple). The food, the presentation, interaction with guests, following of dietary/allergy restrictions - all perfect. We had magnificent vegetables for the vegans, gluten-free dishes of all kinds that were superb, regular dishes that were wonderful - the food was great. And the service is exceptional. Our baby grandson had a grand debut in the Millers' back yard, and Silver Spoons Catering was a big part of that. Silver Spoons did a wonderful job, and we thank them for it. read more

From beginning to end, exceptional service and product! I'm from out of town and needed to plan an after funural gathering with food and had no idea where to start! Scott responded within a few hours and was available to talk it through, suggest ideas and accommodate any and all guidelines we provided. He was quick in his responses and quote and even late night questions all while we had less than 2 days to plan and execute! On the day of the team was early and set up a beautiful spread. They were very friendly, kind, professional and caring. The food was delicious! They walked around to make sure everyone had everything they needed and even provided full service on putting together the perfect bagel bite with all the toppings. They packed up all the leftovers and cleaned up so we didn't have to do a thing! We could not have asked for a better experience! They provided a fully kosher spread and knew how to work within a kosher kitchen. Truly appreciate having the process be so easy and smooth on such a hard day. read more

From start to finish, Silver Spoons was simply the best. We hired them for our daughter's bat mitzvah at the recommendation of a friend who'd booked them for her daughter's bat mitzvah 30 years ago. Talk about business longevity! My family and I had a blast choosing from the extensive menu, all allergies were accommodated, the presentation was gorgeous, and EVERYTHING was delicious. Compared to other caterers we called, Silver Springs was by far the most affordable and responsive. Not only did Scott stay for the entire event, but he greeted people at each table and made sure they were happy with the food. How often do you see an owner do that these days? He is a genuinely nice guy and his employees were true professionals who helped us pack up the leftover food and wine at the end of a very long day. We give Silver Spoons are highest recommendation and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. read more

We had Scott do our bris and the food was excellent and all his staff was extremely friendly. A lot of time catering food is mediocre in bulk, but legitimately all his different brunch foods were as good as it gets and many guests complimented how much they liked it. Beyond that Scott does a great job hosting and making your guests feel welcome and cared for, he left a memorable impression on everyone. We will use for our future catering needs. read more

You will do yourself a great disservice if you don't talk to Scott at Silver Spoons! After getting high estimates from 5 other caterers, I checked out Yelp and found Silver Spoons at the top. They're prices are very reasonable and they give you more value for your money. I got a lot more food and EXCELLENT customer service! All the guests at my daughter's wedding were incredibly impressed with the food, the selection, and service. I can't rave about Scott and Michael enough! read more

They never responded to my inquiry. They sent me a text asking more questions and then dropped the ball!

April 13, 2026 UPDATE: This is the second time we've worked with Chef Scott of Silver Spoons Catering, and the second time he's earned a glowing review. Spoiler alert: the man is the consummate professional. The level of detail this guy focuses on is insane. The floral decorations on the bar top and the hors d'oeuvre platters come to mind. The whole experience was elevated because of the catering - the food, drinks, service, and presentation created a legit classy atmosphere. I felt like we were at a Hollywood premier reception - very fancy. I almost forgot to talk about the food itself lol! The reason we chose Scott in the first place was because we loved his dishes. We were impressed with the tasting menu meeting and selected our menu. When the day came...everything was so delicious! Here's the real proof. As hosts, we rarely get to eat much of the food at the event itself. We are too busy entertaining and talking with visiting family. THANK GOD they send the leftovers home with us! Let me tell you...working our way through the leftovers...was like...reading a love letter. Every dish was so good, so carefully and lovingly made, with only quality ingredients. The quality and care invested in each dish was literally palatable in every bite. The wait staff was professional and friendly. Scott himself was present and supervising everything. Timing of all services was perfect. Everything was perfect. No issues whatsoever, only love and praise, well deserved. Once again, thank you dearly, Chef Scott! Wishing you much continued success! Original review, posted Dec 13, 2023: We enthusiastically recommend Chef Scott and Silver Spoons Catering. He did our big event and it was close to perfect. The tasting meeting was smooth and fun. The pricing was reasonable. Scott is personable and friendly. The night of the event, again, everything went smoothly. The buffet layouts were good. The bar and wait staff were good. The table settings were fancy and elegant. Everything was timed correctly. And omg the food. My son ate like 6-7 of the tuna tartare's. The salmon teriyaki skewers were my favorite appetizer. But my gosh the chicken was heavenly. All the guests commented on how good the food was. The day after we felt completely satisfied and we couldn't wait to dig into the leftovers. That's a good sign! read more

Scott and his team were awesome! Great food and exceptional support. Highly recommend

Silver Spoons provides catering at my job on holidays. I look forward to having my Christmas meals at work because Scott and his amazing team always served great food! They would serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for us, and EVERYTHING was always DELICIOUS! They're all nice and always had a smile on their faces. We always appreciate them for the great food and great company on a busy Christmas Day at our facility. Silver Spoons Catering was a dream come true for our family during a very difficult time as we needed to plan a dinner reception after a funeral. We really wanted to have a special reception for approximately 60 family members. Owner, Scott Tessler was absolutely amazing to work with and he customized our menu making sure even food allergies were accounted for! The table displays were beautiful with an incredible selection of appetizers and dinner items which included Tri-Tip beef, chicken and pasta! Our guests all commented how enjoyable the food was! The servers were extremely helpful and friendly and made sure all of our guests were taken care of! What made our experience with Silver Spoons Catering even more incredible was the fact that EVERYTHING was taken care of by their team. From serving cocktails to appetizers to dinner to dessert! Even taking all the trash with them when they left! Silver Spoons Catering is also priced competitively and we look forward to working with Scott and the team again soon! read more

About 10 days ago I requested a quote for a celebration of life reception. Scott immediately responded with a detailed breakdown of my options. His communication was stellar, he accommodated all of my requests, customized my menu, and engaged me along the way. On the day of the reception, Scott and team arrived on time and took care of everything! The setup was more than I expected, the food was incredible, and the staff was attentive. Not only did they deliver on everything promised, they packed up all the leftovers, including dividing it up, removed all trash, and mopped the floor. We had not a single complaint about anything! Guests requested Scott's business card and we can't wait to use him again! Scott, thank you for taking a difficult day in our lives and making it unforgettable! read more

Silver Spoons Catering catered our backyard wedding & reception, and they were absolutely amazing, from the time we reached out requesting availability and a quote, to finalizing the menu, to their catering on our big day. Scott Tessler was fantastic to work with, answered all of our questions, made wonderful suggestions and gave us a very fair and reasonable price. He and his team were so wonderful on the day of our wedding! Their presentations were gorgeous and elegant, and the food delicious! And Scott was such a joy, and so kind and lovely to us and all the guests. We are highly recommending Scott and Silver Spoons to everyone we know for upcoming events, and look forward to working with him and his team in the future! Thank you, Scott! read more

I would give 10 stars if I could! Truly the best catering experience we have ever had. Communication was prompt and efficient, we were able to customize and do add-ons as needed, and the servers and staff were timely, professionally, and extremely helpful. After the party, they assisted with cleaning the space we had rented, which touched us deeply. Silver Spoons went above and beyond in every single respect and we are incredibly grateful to have had them for our son's birthday party (30 adults and 20 kids). Believe all the reviews you see. 5 stars for a reason. The food is phenomenal and was the reason the party was a success! We began with the Mediterranean cheese & pesto torta, which consisted of whipped cream cheese layered with our pesto filling and offered with crackers and sliced baguette pieces as well as red grapes and strawberries on the side. The Santa Fe salad provided a nice healthy salad option with assorted baby greens, radicchio, avocado, Mandarin orange sections (which both our kids were obsessed with), and tangerine vinaigrette dressing and sliced almonds. The poached salmon had a creamy dill sauce served on the side and this was by far the hit of the day. Kids and adults loved it--the texture was perfect and not overly cooked (which was our biggest fear). Off the "kids' menu" (which was still a major hit with all the adults) we elected to go with cheese quesadillas (guacamole and salsa on the sides), mini hamburgers, and fried rice (vegetarian). Absolutely scrumptious and the serving portion for the hamburgers were perfect for the little ones. Because we didn't realize how big the portions were we also added grilled chicken pesto croissants which were massive. We probably would have been totally fine not ordering these but they were also a favorite so I'm glad we did have them. Easy to grab and eat with given how chaotic things can so many children at a party! As if this wasn't enough food, there was also bakery rolls, bread sticks, and whipped butter as accompaniments. For dessert, there were lemon bars, chocolate chunk brownies, black & white cookies, and chocolate swirl almond cookies, as well as cut fruit (honeydew, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, grapes, kiwi). Since we also ordered a half sheet of cake this was definitely too much dessert, but this type of stuff can freeze well so no regrets there! The cake deserves its own paragraph--literally one of the best party cakes I've ever had! Strawbrrry shortcake with buttercream frosting at the owner's recommendation. The cake was moist and perfect. And of course they were willing and able to decorate it with a lovely rainbow to keep in theme with the party. I am not kidding when I say it's worth booking Silver Spoons just for this cake! Anyway, if you are looking for a caterer look no further. Highly recommend and will be our go-to!!! read more

Silver Spoons Catering catered our wedding in July 2022 in the Arts District of DTLA. Scott was amazing from the start. We had a tasting dinner to go over how we wanted to craft our menu and communicated all the information we needed. He provided fast responses to both myself and our coordinator and walked the venue with us weeks before to make sure everything was perfect and would flow seamlessly. Scott's team also provided our bartending services and made our cake. The set up was great but the taste of the food was amazing! Many guests have told us months after that the food at our wedding was so good! We would definitely recommend Scott and Silver Spoons Catering to anyone looking for amazing tasting food and a fair price. We hope to use Silver Spoon for any of our future events! I think I may have posted this to the wrong place (I put the review on Silver Spoons Catering, Inc. for Los Angeles), but that was the first review, so I want to make sure the right business gets the credit. I think it may be the same place, but here's a copy of the review: We found these caterers on our own after our wedding planner suggested another caterer whose prices were off the charts. These caterers offered a substantially upgraded menu at a substantially lower price. There were plenty of appetizers for everyone (left with lots extra), and they were far more sophisticated in nature than those of others I researched (especially the one our wedding planner suggested). There was a large choice of appetizers to share, including Peking duck and vegan options to please a variety of guests. The main dishes were also well-prepared and generous, certainly more than enough for all of our guests. They even made a great wedding cake, at a fair price, taking another headache out of wedding planning. My only complaint is that they didn't keep records of communications with myself or with our wedding planner, and we had to repeat our requests for which dishes we wanted, and even our address, but in the end everything turned out as well as we might expect. I strongly recommend them (just keep a record of all communication). read more

I had used Scott for my mother's celebration of life. She would have been 97 this month. So we wanted to make big event. We called several caterer but Scott was the one that gave us the most choices and responses promptly. He arrive on time and came with his sous chef Jose. They were both very polite and very professional. Scott offered some of the guests appetizers the cheese wheel was very good, Scott was very attentive to all the guests. The food was delicious. All the guests rave for the Poach Salmon( which was also my mothers favourite) as well as the Desserts. Very well done and professional. Will definitely use Silver spoon again. read more

Silver Spoons catered our wedding last week. They were referred to us when another caterer failed us (long story). With four months left to go, we were on the brink of panic when Mr. Scott Tessler stepped in. He was quick and efficient and was able to give me a reasonable quote right over the phone. He even managed to squeeze in our initial tasting to accommodate our busy schedule. From the moment we started working with Scott, he provided us with invaluable guidance and support. Our event was formal/black-tie optional so quality and presentation were paramount. His expertise and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the wedding was executed flawlessly. The menu provided was not only delicious but also beautifully presented and left a lasting impression on our guests. We received numerous compliments about the quality of the food, service, and the overall experience. In addition to the exceptional food and service, Scott was always prompt in answering our questions and addressed any concerns we had. Planning a wedding is so stressful but he made it so easy. We could not have asked for a better catering experience and feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Scott. Thank you Scott-- we are truly grateful and will recommend Silver Spoons for any other events we may have in the future. read more

Scott and his team catered our wedding last night and we couldn't be happier. We hired Scott on the spot when we did a private tasting with some of his menu items. It was truly difficult to narrow down our wedding menu because everything was delicious. He helped customize absolutely everything for our menu, a cheese plate upon arrival, appetizers, a delicious buffet, late night bites, and more. They were extremely accommodating for all dietary restrictions for our guests-- vegan, vegetarian, kosher, etc. He also provided bartending services as well AND assisted in all of our rentals as well. He truly made our event so special and smooth. Every single person came up to us and said the food was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. And on top of everything else, Scott is so kind and affordable. We will always use Silver Spoons Catering for any events we have in the future! read more

Scott was an incredible partner for our wedding (115 guests) at The Valentine in DTLA. He not only provided exceptional catering, but also handled our alcohol purchase and helped secure a strong rentals partner for the event. He was very helpful and collaborative, patiently answered all our questions and offered advice when asked. He's friendly, thoughtful and service was top notch. The food was absolutely delicious and he was happy to have his team set up our dessert, even though it was through a separate vendor. His staff were great and very attentive through the event. Many guests commented on how tasty the food was. Highly recommend for any weddings or events! read more

We just used Silver Spoons for my son's Bar Mitzvah last weekend and Scott was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He offered to do a tasting prior to the event so that we would know what menu items to select. The entire dinner buffet was delicious from the appetizers (teriyaki beef / filet skewers, spicy tuna rolls and franks in jackets were the favorites), to the grilled chicken kabobs and salmon with papaya salsa and the dessert (ice cream sundae bar and assorted cookies and bars). He also provided our adult and kids bars, and made a signature kids cocktail for my son with licorice and sour straws which the kids loved. His staff was very nice, professional and accommodating. He packed up all of the leftovers for us afterwards and we also ordered brunch platters from him for the next day and they were packed up and ready to go after the bar mitzvah party to take home. Scott is very friendly and customer service oriented, always returned my texts and emails back right away and answered any and all questions I had. We loved working with him, highly recommend Silver Spoons catering for your next special occasion! read more

Scott Tessler and his crew are the best partners you could ever want for your wedding. Ours was a small (27) sit-down lunch, and Scott handled all the details, including the rentals which made it so much easier. He visited our venue and we created a strategy together. His staff was kind and attentive and included a chef, bartender, and servers. They made our wedding stress-free and so much fun. The food was great and the service was impeccable.
