    Our Daughter's HS Graduation party.
    DESMOND K.

We first used Grazing Tables when my wife threw me a 50th Birthday party at a restaurant in Calabasas right before COVID ruined everything. Next up was our daughter's graduation party at our home. Both times the food was amazing. If I had a dollar for every compliment we received, I'd have a whole lot of dollars. The price was well within our budget and seemed like a great deal for the amount of time/effort they put in preparing, delivering, and picking up. Highly recommend!

Not all is lost, though, as they're conjoining with kippered down the street. I'm not sure if the sandwiches will survive the merger but I hope they do. Three years…read moreago they moved to their own brick and mortar a half block south of the Market on the corner of 4th and Broadway. This larger space now serves as a cheese shop, upscale market and fast-casual eatery. I came here for lunch after walking through GCM and not feeling inspired. They still offer a large case of cheeses from around the world, which can be purchased by weight. I think a large part of their business is creating made-to-order charcuterie platters and boards of cheeses and meats. In their deli case, they have grab and go plates of 3 cheeses (meat optional), pickles and dried fruit. The gourmet market also offers fresh produce, specialty items like premium butters, Rancho Gordo beans, house made items like chicken stock, pickles, etc, and meats. Plus fresh juices and lemonade and canned/bottled drinks. I came for the eatery. They offer cold sandwiches and breads, plus made to order hot sandwiches. They have an attractive Sunday Brunch menu also. I went with the ham melt, which is their OG grilled cheese with ham added. I also ordered their "Always Creamy Tomato Soup", both to go. The soup was delish. It came with garlicky croutons which alas were soggy by the time I ate them. The sandwich was excellent. It had 3 different cheeses, ham, and caramelized onions on brioche. It was grilled to perfection with a substantial cheese skirt, and came with pickles and whole grain mustard. A very tasty lunch and a nice alternative to GCM. They had a fair amount of seating if you decide to eat in. I'd definitely shop their market more extensively next time, and would like to try their brunch someday. They also have a wine/champagne/tinned fish bar next door called Kippered, that was packed when I walked by in the evening.

We ordered the Gruyère poppers, scallops crudo, beet salad, braised cabbage, and steak, and finished with the strawberry trifle. Every single dish was outstanding. I really enjoyed this with the whipped honey butter. The Agnes cinnamon roll was decent, but not quite gooey enough for me. The food would be good if it was seasoned. I say that because it's very nicely prepared, cooked and presented - but it's bland. The mushroom & leek omelet was beautiful, but it needed salt. It didn't seem like they'd used any at all. The endive citronette that came on the side was nice; I liked the dressing. The crispy tator tots were just fine, nothing special (and also needed a little salt). My friends that got the grits carbonara and the quiche pot pie said their food was also underseasoned. The service was a little lackluster. They were nice, but seemed understaffed. The restaurant itself was nice. It's a large clean space with lots of light, and room between the tables. Bathrooms are decent. For underseasoned food and lackluster service, it feels overpriced. My omelette was $28, and the egg dishes ranged from $22-30. If I had gotten nothing else, my bill plus tax and 20% tip (we had 6 people) would have been about $37 (which is really high for an omelette - I know it was my choice to still order it, but I do think it's worth stating that it's expensive). Of course, I did also get coffee, and some other things to share with the table. But that's part of the fun of brunch with friends! There is limited street parking around, but the De Lacey lot is just down the street and around the corner. It's currently $1 for the first two hours, and then $2 each additional hour with a $12 daily max.

And used the Order on Line feature to place my order for pick up. I was feeling adventurous and veered from my usual Burrata Salad and ordered the Truffle Parma Burrata Sandwich (panino) and headed over for pick up. I remembered why I don't stop by as often as I'd like, the parking lot is awkward, despite the kind and attentive parking lot attendant. Squeezed into a compact spot that had an over sized truck next to me that made for maneuvering in and out of my compact vehicle a bit ridiculous. Walked in, picked up my sandwich and headed back to work to enjoy it. Now I'm in no way complaining, but this sandwich is exactly what it says it is, fresh ciabatta bread, fresh burrata cheese (yum), prosciutto, caramelized onions (perfection) and truffle cream sauce. Everything delicious but the truffle cream is pretty potent, be aware. Maybe they went a bit heavy on the Truffle Cream sauce but it was just too rich & potent for me today. (I ended up just scraping the burrata cheese off and eating that alone instead of the second half of the sandwich, and yes I'm a truffle fan). Will I be back, absolutely! Would I order this particular sandwich again, no. The Burrata House is pretty small, so just a small wall counter and bar stools inside to eat and a few tables outside to enjoy your meal.

They also have happy hour Tuesdays-Thursday from 2:00-5:30pm, where they offer house wines for $5 and personal cheese board for $10. For boards, I usually get the Goldilocks specialty board, which comes with 3 cheeses ranging in texture from soft to hard. For an additional cost, you can add meat: prosciutto, salami, Spanish chorizo, or half & half of any two. For paninis, everything I've tried was very good. I've had the Signature which has a double-cream brie, pear slices, mixed greens, and fig jam. Lib Grilled Cheese comes with three premium cheese blend, grilled with olive oil, and minced garlic. All paninis are on their sourdough bread and served with their signature side salad. The decor here is very cute - showcasing their cheese fridge and shelves lined with wines and jams available for purchase. There are some tables both indoors and outside. I recently saw that they host events, offer quick same-day catering within 2-3 hours of ordering, and deliver for orders up to 50 people! Always coming back for their cheese boards and great happy hour!

My first visit was a few months ago, and I felt like I was bothering our server for water refills, napkins and other things. It was a Saturday night and while it was not packed, it took about an hour to get 2 panini's. Went today for my birthday, and my adult son told the server that the three of us were sitting on patio. Server shows up with 2 menus and 2 glasses for water. Sees me and scolds my son for not telling her that there was a third person. She brings a 3rd glass but never a 3rd menu. I specifically mention that we are here for happy hour specials. There is only 1 other table occupied, otherwise it's empty. We wait over 20 minutes to place our order. 1 personal board supposed to be $10. Plus (2) panini's. Wait another 30+ minutes... get our food and that's it. No check in - no water refills. My son goes and gets the server for a box and to order another personal board. We wait another long period to get it. I go inside to taste some cheese. We add on something to our bill. It was $104... I do some quick math and assume the price is because of the cheese I added to the bill. I add a tip on the lowish side, because we didn't really get any "service" to be worth the $18 I added onto it. I get home to review the receipt... and was charged $20 for the personal boards + the add ons... I am so let down. I spent $130 and didn't get awesome service or the happy hour discount. I was expecting to pay $50-$60 ish, and this caught me off guard. I have learned my lesson and won't be going back. I added the pictures so yelp-er's can see portion sizes, of the personalized cheese board.

We came in on a Saturday and was unable to find street parking so as others advised, I had my friend watch the car and drive around as I made my way to the shop. The shop was so cute, it's small but with everything you'd need for a cheese and meat party including breads, canned additions/fish, and wines! I grabbed a fresh loaf of baguette to add to the order. Both trays were ready and absolutely fresh. The honorable cheesemongers overlooking shop were very nice and helpful! One female worker was providing samples for a gentleman when he asked for recommendations and my cheesemonger asked what kind of cheese texture I generally liked and offered to give me a cheese from three different animals, which I thought was absolutely awesome! She even offered to help me carry my trays out. The veggie tray was awesome, a great size, half pickled half not pickled, the dips were both amazing! We got the green goddess and Calabrian chili aioli and both were such a hit at our get together. The peppers are slightly spicy and were so delicious. We loved the variety of cheese and did not have a single cheese we didn't like. The petite toasts with the meat and cheese board is a must! So good and crispy and a perfect size for a bite. The trays were really sturdy and we appreciated the care put into the layout. We'll definitely be back Oh La Vache!

The staff behind the counter were extremely friendly and we picked up two delightful sandwiches and were on our way. We couldn't be any happier with their delightful sandwiches.
