    Baguette Sandwich "Prosciutto Italiano"
    Loren L.

In our adventure of the day with the Chocolate Cookie Crawl, we finally ended up here at Milkfarm. Didn't really know what to expect from a cheese shop or so we thought that was the only thing they did. Walking in and seeing all their cheeses and then the display case of freshly prepared sandwiches was a sight for sore eyes! What can beat a nice chewy baguette with prosciutto, spinach, cheese and pesto? The Prosciutto Italiano was perfectly balanced and delicious, not overwhelming in any one thing but a delightful combination of flavors and ingredients. Service was attentive and quick as well as friendly. The vibe is super chill with seating outside if you wanted to enjoy your delightful meal there. I am definitely looking forward to coming back and trying the cheese offerings as well as their other sandwiches!

Don't sleep on the sandwiches at Milkfarm! We stopped by on a Saturday around 12 PM. It's casual here, with a little wine and cheese shop setup and a few first come, first served tables outside. There are also two bar stools tucked in the back if counter seating is more your vibe. We got the Chorizo Pamplona (fried tomato sauce, Campo de Montalban, chorizo pamplona, Mama Lil's pickled peppers, cilantro, greens, herb butter on baguette) and the Muffuletta (aioli, Genoa salami, salami cotto, Louisiana olive mix, fresh mozzarella, chopped herbs, cracked black pepper on focaccia). Of the two, the chorizo one had bolder, richer, and more balanced flavors that worked so, so, so well together. I kept going back for more and almost ordered a second! If you're planning a visit, they post their daily rotation at the bottom of their Instagram post each day, so it's worth checking ahead if there's a specific sandwich you're hoping to catch.

Good quality sandwiches! We got to the shop at around 5-6pm, and the sandwiches were stored in the fridge by then. They offered to re-toast the sandwiches for us. I recommend going earlier in the day to get them when they're freshest. I got the Prosciutto Italiano sandwich which came with prosciutto, pesto, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, olive oil, and greens inside a baguette. It was pretty good but not spectacular. The baguette had a crispy exterior but may have been a bit hard for my liking. Maybe because it was later in the day? But, overall, all the ingredients in this sandwich worked well together. The flavor sort of reminded me of the Tomato & Mozzarella on Focaccia from Starbucks. My friend ordered a truffle cheese sandwich which I forgot the exact name of. This sandwich was good, and, in my opinion, tasted better than the Prosciutto Italiano sandwich. Overall, the sandwiches here are pretty solid. They also sell cheeses, cookies, drinks/wine, and other goods. The employees are really nice and accommodating. I took a while to decide on my order and the lady was really patient with me and answered all my questions.

The sandwiches are limited. Get there before they sell out!

I don't even really like cheese and I like this place. The cheesemongers at Milkfarn can even guide a cheese agnostic such as myself to a cheese I like. In my case, I discovered a coffee cheese (?!) that was surprisingly good! They also have great sandwiches, freshly baked cookies and other stuff. A great spot!

A bag with delicious sandwiches from Milkfarm in Eagle Rock for my Hollywood Bowl picnic before the concert!

My absolute favorite place in Eagle Rock!!! So glad this is in my town where I can walk to! Love being I. A walking neighborhood with so many wonderful places to eat and shop but Milkfarm is my go to place for my Hollywood Bowl picnics!!! The employees at Milkfarm are over the top helpful and friendly! My guilty pleasure is the French butter!!! I studied in Paris for a summer in lived off of fresh French baguettes and butter! If you're thinking, 'how different can French butter be?' Well, try it for yourself and see. And while you're there, grab a sandwich, one of their amazing jams and a salted chocolate chip cookie! You'll be hooked! The owner,Leah, procures, the most amazing selections of artisan cheeses so if you're looking to host or bring a hostess gift, you won't lack of choices-not just of cheeses, but lovely unique gift items. Stop by soon! It will become your favorite place too!

Milkfarm is a neighborhood cheese shop located in downtown Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. It is owned and operated by people who really love cheese! This place is so cute and clean, and it offers a variety of everything: Cheese, of course, Craft Beer and wine, Gourmet Foods, Salami, Pate, Meats, and daily made sandwiches. They can heat up the sandwiches for you, too. OMG! We came over for their famous Chocolate Chip Cookies with Jacobsen Sea Salt! We sell out every day! We got got sandwiches to go so we can eat them on the car drive back to AZ. But they were out of cookies. We got the mochi krunchies! The sandwiches were very good. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Ask them anything!

Super friendly staff! We came after 3pm and were worried there wasn't any more sandwiches left. However the staff explained they put it away after 3 to ensure it doesn't go bad. They'll also heat up the sandwiches so it's not too cold. There are only a few tables to eat outside to eat. If you aren't sure about the different sandwiches and cheese the staff are always there to help answer any questions and will give excellent recommendations as well.

Shopping in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, California... After coffee, Hannah, Sam, and I walked over to MilkFarm. It's a quaint, cozy, country vibe shop with gourmet goods and CHEESE! Rw was the best employee... very enthusiastic and encouraging! LOL! He helped me on both days... Yes, I visited this shop two days in a row. My second visit was a "Meet the Maker" event where customers sampled pizza from piOOa. There were three pizzas... all of them were delicious with a crisp crust. They will be in the refrigerator for purchase. Bake in your oven at home for about 5 minutes... easy! During my first visit, I looked at cool merchandise and gourmet grocery products. What really caught my attention was the HBB sandwich - Ham Brie and Butter. When it was warmed up, the thick bread really enhanced the savory ham and creamy cheese and butter! Yum! I know that Sam got the Grilled Cheese sandwich, so I got it the next day... it was fabulous because it wasn't an ordinary grilled cheese sandwich. I believe that several cheeses are grated and combined, then melted together for a unique flavor! Mmm! ...and that toasted, crunchy bread!!! Well... thanks to Hannah for introducing Sam and me to this shop. MilkFarm has excellent products and staff like Rw, who really enjoy helping customers!

Cute mural on the back wall!

Been visiting Milkfarm for years now - still my fave local cheese shop! Their Cheesemongers are truly knowledgeable and so helpful - I always walk away with some great cheeses - my faves are usually the sheep or goat based cheeses from south France. But their soft ones like Brie are great too! All the info and sentiments in my first review still hold true. Staff are so happy to help and very passionate about the cheeses and the shop. Their selection is impressive in terms of variety, quality, and I especially love how many regions they get cheese from - all over the world. They have a lot of other items too - they do charcuterie boards, they have sandwiches and grill them on site when ordered, they have gift items, jams, desserts, wine, pickles, cold cuts...all sorts of stuff! You could definitely walk away with a decent lunch here. The stop itself is super cute with a great mural on the wall. They have some tables outside for customers. They have events occasionally and even started a monthly cheese club recently! Prices are a little expensive but expected given the quality and the specialty items. You definitely won't find these cheeses at Ralph's or Vons lol. A great spot for special cheese selections- I'll definitely be back!

This larger space now serves as a cheese shop, upscale market and fast-casual eatery. I came here for lunch after walking through GCM and not feeling inspired. They still offer a large case of cheeses from around the world, which can be purchased by weight. I think a large part of their business is creating made-to-order charcuterie platters and boards of cheeses and meats. In their deli case, they have grab and go plates of 3 cheeses (meat optional), pickles and dried fruit. The gourmet market also offers fresh produce, specialty items like premium butters, Rancho Gordo beans, house made items like chicken stock, pickles, etc, and meats. Plus fresh juices and lemonade and canned/bottled drinks. I came for the eatery. They offer cold sandwiches and breads, plus made to order hot sandwiches. They have an attractive Sunday Brunch menu also. I went with the ham melt, which is their OG grilled cheese with ham added. I also ordered their "Always Creamy Tomato Soup", both to go. The soup was delish. It came with garlicky croutons which alas were soggy by the time I ate them. The sandwich was excellent. It had 3 different cheeses, ham, and caramelized onions on brioche. It was grilled to perfection with a substantial cheese skirt, and came with pickles and whole grain mustard. A very tasty lunch and a nice alternative to GCM. They had a fair amount of seating if you decide to eat in. I'd definitely shop their market more extensively next time, and would like to try their brunch someday. They also have a wine/champagne/tinned fish bar next door called Kippered, that was packed when I walked by in the evening.

And used the Order on Line feature to place my order for pick up. I was feeling adventurous and veered from my usual Burrata Salad and ordered the Truffle Parma Burrata Sandwich (panino) and headed over for pick up. I remembered why I don't stop by as often as I'd like, the parking lot is awkward, despite the kind and attentive parking lot attendant. Squeezed into a compact spot that had an over sized truck next to me that made for maneuvering in and out of my compact vehicle a bit ridiculous. Walked in, picked up my sandwich and headed back to work to enjoy it. Now I'm in no way complaining, but this sandwich is exactly what it says it is, fresh ciabatta bread, fresh burrata cheese (yum), prosciutto, caramelized onions (perfection) and truffle cream sauce. Everything delicious but the truffle cream is pretty potent, be aware. Maybe they went a bit heavy on the Truffle Cream sauce but it was just too rich & potent for me today. (I ended up just scraping the burrata cheese off and eating that alone instead of the second half of the sandwich, and yes I'm a truffle fan). Will I be back, absolutely! Would I order this particular sandwich again, no. The Burrata House is pretty small, so just a small wall counter and bar stools inside to eat and a few tables outside to enjoy your meal.

My first visit was a few months ago, and I felt like I was bothering our server for water refills, napkins and other things. It was a Saturday night and while it was not packed, it took about an hour to get 2 panini's. Went today for my birthday, and my adult son told the server that the three of us were sitting on patio. Server shows up with 2 menus and 2 glasses for water. Sees me and scolds my son for not telling her that there was a third person. She brings a 3rd glass but never a 3rd menu. I specifically mention that we are here for happy hour specials. There is only 1 other table occupied, otherwise it's empty. We wait over 20 minutes to place our order. 1 personal board supposed to be $10. Plus (2) panini's. Wait another 30+ minutes... get our food and that's it. No check in - no water refills. My son goes and gets the server for a box and to order another personal board. We wait another long period to get it. I go inside to taste some cheese. We add on something to our bill. It was $104... I do some quick math and assume the price is because of the cheese I added to the bill. I add a tip on the lowish side, because we didn't really get any "service" to be worth the $18 I added onto it. I get home to review the receipt... and was charged $20 for the personal boards + the add ons... I am so let down. I spent $130 and didn't get awesome service or the happy hour discount. Imagine yourself in some great food adventure and you enter a vast other wordly cathedral filled with gems and golden treasure. That's Epicurus Gourmet. I've been in LA for well over three decades and its rare that I am frozen in my footsteps when walking into a new spot - but this place did it. A vast Disneyland of tinned fish, butters, pastas, meats, chocolate, spices, so so much more. Honestly, for anyone passionate about food and cooking, it may make you cry visiting this spot. Perfection. Go. Many thanks to Eric and the entire staff for making our first visit with you wildly memorable and deeply enjoyable. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Soooooooooo glad you are nearby!
