I mean when you walk in and can't see the back wall you know this store is well stocked. This was the only liquor store that carried Panty Peeler beer. Very high in alcohol like 11.5 percent. It was so smooth and freaking dangerous. But this store carries all the Alaskan beers brewed in Alaska. Also they got a beer called Montana Butte it's so good. Great service everytime I came in here with no attitudes. Big parking lot and many many beers to choose from. Great selections of wines and Everything in between. Definitely come here when your in the area. Clean store for sure.

Gold Rush liquor has been purchased by the parent company that also owns Brown Jug. As a result,…read moretheir bush order department no longer exists. Instead of continuing to monitor the old bush orders email address and notifying customers of this change, they allowed it to become an email black hole. After my second order attempt in months, I called them only to be told by a Brown Jug employee that "Gold Rush was supposed to notify their customers". Further, although it seemed like they were able to get into the email account after that, and I sent updated copies of my license and liquor permit, they apparently lack the capability to provide a pre-shipping subtotal... either that, or they just decided my request was unreasonable and they don't want to do business with me any more. I might never find out; they still haven't called me back, and I'd sooner order from someone else. Problem is, it looks like Liquor Stores USA North is attempting to buy up all the liquor stores in Anchorage, so you'll soon not have a choice but to put up with their bullshit.

This has always been my first choice when looking for seasonal and limited-release beers and should be your first choice as well. La Bodega (previously Yukon Spirits) appeared on my radar because it's the only place in Anchorage that encourages buying individual bottles of beer. Per-bottle prices are usually the six-pack price divided by six, and they have a box-full of empty six-packs for convenience. Warts: the selection varies, so if you like it you'd better stock up, and they don't have sales, so Brown Jug is the better deal if there's a sale on the beer or wine you want. This being Anchorage, though, I am willing to look the other way if it means that I can have easy access to this much quality beer. Between La Bodega and the Brown Jug Warehouse, Old Seward between 36th and Tudor is definitely the place to be for fans of beer and wine. Located near Natural Pantry. There's an outside entrance, as they are open somewhat later than the mall stores.

I got a large pizza, half "Call of the Wild" and half "Amazing Apricot." I wanted to try reindeer, so Call of the Wild made sense. It had reindeer sausage, and steak for meat and a garlic cream sauce. Delicious! I also wanted to try something different, and Amazing Apricot fit that description. Blackened chicken with cream cheese and apricot sauce may sound out-of-the-ordinary, and it is, but was very tasty and certainly unique for me! Now, I am a pineapple on pizza fan, and am now also an apricot with chicken on pizza fan. The pizza crust was soft with a nice crispness on the outside. Overall, the flavors were amazing and I was absolutely pleased. There were 38 different pizzas, along with several weekly rotating specials to bring it to over 40. But this spot completely blew my mind, and I can finally understand why it's so popular! We landed in Anchorage, and this was our first stop because we were absolutely starving. There was a bit of a wait, so we grabbed some beers and hung out on the patio until our table was ready. We ordered a half-and-half pizza, with one side being the Call of the Wild, featuring reindeer sausage, and the other being the Thai Chicken. Both were fantastic! The pizza was incredibly well-made, and the toppings were phenomenal. Maybe we were just really hungry after traveling, or maybe the pizza really was that good but either way, I'm 100% recommending this place if you're in the area. We also tried the Death by Peanut cheesecake, which was just right - not too much, not too little, and a great way to finish the meal.Service was fabulous, too.
