Amazing experience in all ways. We called in for delivery. The host who answered notified us right away the delivery would take about an hour because they were super busy, and we could pick up in 20 minutes if we wanted. We still elected for delivery, and she was very pleasant and helpful. The delivery was right on time. The delivery driver was super humble and stated he was just "helping out delivering" to help get through the busy time. When I called to pay, it turns out it was the owner helping out with delivering. We were very impressed. And to round things out, the pizza was absolutely amazing. Real mozzarella cheese, great sauce, and the perfect amount of topping. We got both a thin crust and regular crust - Both were amazing. I love supporting mom and pop businesses! The food here is consistently good; and all things considering, I'd recommend anyone to eat here. Personally, I prefer the pizza over their pastas. They make their side salads with ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, and real mozzarella; I always get one to complement my meal. The service is something straight out of a comedy skit though. It's like dinner and a show. The waitress is pleasant, but seemingly forgetful. Glasses can run dry, and you may be asked if you ordered another pizza while she's holding one in her hand. She routinely delivers my salad to the table with tomatoes, regardless of my request to not have them. She loses the ticket she wrote your order on and will accidentally spill sauce on your card. Our FAVORITE pizza place!! The pizza is super good and price comparable to Papa Murphy. But don't forget about their fried chicken. My daughter loves it so much she begged me to stop by the other day after school and she offered to pay with her allowance. Today we stopped by because my husband is craving the chicken. The owner saw my girl come in with me and told her that since she loves the fried chicken so much, she can keep her allowance! He bought our chicken! Just went to Muldoon Pizza for the first time. After seeing the ads and reading the reviews, I knew it was going to be a great dinner. We ordered an appetizer of meatballs with sauce and the 16 inch House Special. As soon as the waitress walked away from taking our order, my wife sees something inside the Parmesan cheese shaker. Inside the shaker, running circles, was a 3/4 inch long cockroach! A freaking COCKROACH!! Living in the Parmesan cheese shaker! Needless to say, we didn't stick around for dinner. This happened 20 minutes ago, and I'm still totally repulsed. If the cheese on the table is infested, just imagine what the kitchen looks like. Never again read more

This is our go-to place for pizza. We love the retro atmosphere and the service is pretty great. We love places like the Moose's Tooth, but there's usually way too many people and you might have to wait a while to get seated. We usually go once a week now and are never disappointed. It's what you might think of when you imagine a small, local neighborhood pizzeria. We normally get the pepperoni pizza. If a place can make the basic pizza taste amazing, then that's a win in my book. If a place can't even get pepperoni right, then it's not a good pizza place. -Based on a experience last year- I thought for certain I had reviewed this place previously. This establishment has been around for a long time. You can tell right away because of the 1960's-70's original decor, complete with years of smoke stain, dirt, and grease build up. It looks exactly the same as it did when I first ate there as a kid. Growing up, we were very poor and it was a real treat for us to eat at Muldoon Pizza back then. I can still remember the heavenly aroma wafting among the cigarette smoke. I probably would have forgotten about that, but this place still has that lingering sensation of Yuk. Among the beat up old tables and duct tape benches hung one of those old oil drip lamp things. It had been years since I saw one of those, and this one was just nasty.... not unlike the ceiling, walls, and floor. Actually, I guess it fit right in, never mind. Enough about the fond memories of old. Lets talk about the pizza, or rather the round thing they serve that is suppose to be pizza. The Pizza was part brunt, part pale, and drab. The cheese was .... does coagulated work well as a description? At any rate, it was obviously imitation, and the sauce.... well ... Flavor is apparently not available on/or near these Pizza's of Muldoon. To be honest, I never finished my piece of za. I would recommend that the owners, managers, employee's... anyone. We had no idea what to have for dinner after doing some shopping yesterday afternoon. My sweetheart turned into this little strip mall Ive never been to before & takes me into this pizza place on the corner & my first reaction is WOW! Very retro, nothing fancy & it has a very comfortable atmosphere and feel to it. The menu is simple with a couple of pasta dishes, a salad or 2 and pizza. We had the house pizza. It had canadian bacon, pepperoni, olives & onions. It was SO good. It was no fancy Moosestooth/Beartstooth pizza but it was still so delicious I cant wait to go back or even order takeout from there. Pitchers of beer are only $9.75, glasses of wine are $2.50 and $2.75, not a huge beer list or wine list. Very simple, great prices & great customer service. My boyfriend told me it is one of the oldest restaurants in the Muldoon area. I am curious to know exactly how old this establishment is etc. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed. read more

Until recently, this was our default pizza place for delivery. Lately though, the quality has dropped off. Delivery times have gotten longer (almost 2 hrs one time) and the toppings don't match the order. I've never had an issue with dine-in pizza. Purely awesome! The pizza was rockin and the crust was sooooo good. The server (girl) cut the straws for our kids cups, brought extra soda never let our cups empty. It was great. Our picky toddler even ate the kids ravioli (which was great and adult serving size!). The pizza was even awesome reheated in the oven. We gave a $30 tip and our compliments to the chef. I think this is some of the best pizza in Anchorage and for sure the best on this side of town. My pizza's have always had a great amount of toppings, a ton of delicious cheese, and home-made crust. They have really reasonably priced pitchers and wine, but a slim selection. Delivery is free and the timing is reasonable, about 30ish minutes, with the exception of around 7pm when it's more like and hour, maybe more. I'm not a person who really cares about atmosphere, but for those who do: It was probably nice in the 70's... gold wallpaper and all, but now it's kinda funny. It's casual. I've pick up a pizza and didn't wanted to go there anymore. The waitress seem ok but she looked like she was on drugs I could smell an odor on her. The floor was filthy and so was the men's room, after my husband used it. It also smelled like cigarettes. He also glanced at the kitchen crew and their pizza line through a small cubby hole, it wasn't in the greatest shape a little bit dirty and their deep frying station look like something out of a horror movie. We saw mouses running down the hallway! Be warned. Also when a friend asked us to join them we said HELL NO! We gave them no reason we just said go figure out themselves. We never contact our friends we don't really wanna know. Now the food, No Flavors on the spaghetti with meatballs, It taste dry. Every visit, since the age of 6, I've been staring up at that red velvet and gold brothel wallpaper with the 'hanging on for dear life' dust bunnies begging my parents if I could come in one day to clean!! I can't remember if a person or newspaper recommended Muldoon Pizza. Had I the ability to recall who or what, I would beg for an explanation for the recommendation. Beg, I tell you. It doesn't take much for a pizza to impress me. Round? Check. Cheese on top? Check. That's it. After trekking from west to east at Friday rush-hour, I was good and hungry and looking forward to eating at this hidden gem. Plenty of parking. No line to get in. Plenty of seating. Appallingly appealing seventies brothel decor. Remember those goddess Diana lamps that heat up and drip "rain" around her immortal form? Check. Red wallpaper with velvet floral burnouts? Check. Garage sale quality oil paintings? Check. On to the pizza. My companion said it was California style pizza since it wasn't Chicago or New York style. I have never heard of California style pizza, but if such a category exists, I'm glad I left the Golden State. Wouldn't want to live in a financially and pizza strapped state, right? The crust was flavorless but of adequate structure to hold the toppings. The melted cheese was an unsual consistency, leading me to question its authenticity as a 100% dairy product. Another oddity was the sauce. Where was it? There may have been a thin veneer, but it was undetectible, even after peeling the cheese from the crust to get a better look. Feeling like I should give it a second taste, I took the leftovers home and gave it the morning after cold pizza test. Nope. Not remotely better than the night before. Much worse cold. Maybe Muldoon Pizza's food, like its decor, harkens back to the brothel days of yore, where one isn't there for the food, if you know what I mean. At least at a brothel you get what you pay for.
