a pizza in a box

We ordered a half and half pizza with added garlic sticks. We were pretty disappointed in the pizza. It was nothing special at all. We did half bacon cheeseburger and half bbq chicken. Neither sides of the pizza were anything to talk about. To sum it up, I would just say its nothing special. If you are looking for good pizza, or finally having a cheat meal on your healthy eating, I wouldn't splurge on eating the pizza from here.

Food was amazing, I order and was told 30 minutes makes sense because every one love it and there always busy. Well worth the wait!!!!

Uncles Joe's is an underrated local community pizzeria. They are a fantastic choice for quality stone baked pizza, and an extensive list of other savory offerings. I've ordered delivery a few times from this Jewel Lake location. With the exception of a wing mix-up (ordered hot, received honey bbq), we've had great experiences. Our order consistently arrives hot and on time. Toppings are plentiful and fresh. Crust is always tasty with the perfect crunch. I recommend the spinach, chicken, ranch pizza, as well as the garlic chicken pizza, especially. Their appetizer meatballs are flavorful and filling. Their house made lasagna is seasoned well and comforting. What could go better with gourmet food, than gourmet soda. I love that they sell Henry Weinhard's! Nostalgic. Lastly, the desserts - this isn't your average pizza joint. Truffle cheesecakes(s), decadent fudge cake slices, apple pizzas, etc. you can even order Ben and Jerry pints! I grew up ordering Pizza Hut delivery but Uncle Joes make it so easy to support local. I plan to stop in at another of their locations to try other menu items a long with their long list of local tap offerings.

I was extremely disappointed with Uncle Joes. They offer a GF and vegan selection but it was terrible. I am used to GF/vegan pizzas so I know what to expect but I was grossed out honestly. They put on chunks of vegan mozzarella in blobs, the crust was burnt and it had NO flavor. I put so much salt and pepper on the pizza and it didn't help. Even had it not have been burnt I think it would've still been bad. 2 stars for the wonderful service we received and my husband enjoyed his regular pizza.

Simply the best pizza in Anchorage. ‍ Highly recommend…read moreordering larger pies and splitting 1/2-1/2 toppings if you're a group of folks who want different things. My go to is the Jalapeño Business / veggie delight. This place is busy no matter what time and day you come, so prepare to wait if you hit peak hours. But on the upside - the beers are great too and fast to arrive, so you won't be thirsty while waiting. Noise level is usually low for being so busy, but it may depend on where you end up getting seated. Nice airy feel to the place, decorated in a style that I guess can only be described as...Alaskan? ‍ And yes, even if you stay downtown the drive over here is worth it.

They really missed the mark. For starters we got my husband's usual Chipotle steak pizza. Right off the bat I notice it's a weird oval kind of shape. It's not a circle and the pieces don't add up. I'm positive that the someone in the kitchen sliced out the middle the pizza and put it in the box like it wouldn't be noticed. Worst of all. I ordered a pound of their Korean style wings. I usually love these. I thought initially that these are so tiny it's a good thing it's by the weight, not quantity. Well. These were not fit for consumption. I managed to eat two wings that were on the crunchy side. The rest were unfit for consumption. We're talking chicken wing jerky. A bite cracks right through the bone, crunchy marrow, dry translucent meat. What a disappointment. This wouldn't even be something you could feed a dog. So bad. This experience was the worst I've had with Moose's Tooth. It was so disappointing and also weird. Do better.

Now, my first culinary experience with this restaurant was a good one, their cheese burger with honey and whipped Brie?!?!?!?!?! Is a masterpiece disguised as a cheese burger the tater tots on the side? Meh! Nothing to see there. The most mind-binding, disrespectful thing I came across at this establishment is them calling a glorified Little Caesar's quality cheese bread with a side of dipping sauce a "Pizza" if it wasn't enough that this cheese bread was marketed as a "Pizza" which it is not but to call it a Detroit style Deep dish? Unforgivable! I wanted to love this pizza so badly but I cannot allow anyone else to spend $28.00 on a dried out, over cooked order of cheese bread. The service was good until I was given Diet Coke instead of Coke Zero. I swear service recovery is such a lost art. C-

Yak burger anyone??? I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!
