I ordered my usual tonight. Pizza is still good, but the Gyro is still soggy. There's nothing better than a pitta that has a little crisp to it. Maybe delivery has some complications because the gyro sits cooked in the wrap and the condensation makes the pitta soggy, but the first one I ordered was perfect with the right amount of crips. We ordered a half and half pizza with added garlic sticks. We were pretty disappointed in the pizza. It was nothing special at all. We did half bacon cheeseburger and half bbq chicken. Neither sides of the pizza were anything to talk about. To sum it up, I would just say its nothing special. If you are looking for good pizza, or finally having a cheat meal on your healthy eating, I wouldn't splurge on eating the pizza from here. read more

Uncles Joe's is an underrated local community pizzeria. They are a fantastic choice for quality stone baked pizza, and an extensive list of other savory offerings. I've ordered delivery a few times from this Jewel Lake location. With the exception of a wing mix-up (ordered hot, received honey bbq), we've had great experiences. Our order consistently arrives hot and on time. Toppings are plentiful and fresh. Crust is always tasty with the perfect crunch. I recommend the spinach, chicken, ranch pizza, as well as the garlic chicken pizza, especially. Their appetizer meatballs are flavorful and filling. Their house made lasagna is seasoned well and comforting. What could go better with gourmet food, than gourmet soda. I love that they sell Henry Weinhard's! Nostalgic. Lastly, the desserts - this isn't your average pizza joint. Truffle cheesecakes(s), decadent fudge cake slices, apple pizzas, etc. you can even order Ben and Jerry pints! I grew up ordering Pizza Hut delivery but Uncle Joes make it so easy to support local. I plan to stop in at another of their locations to try other menu items a long with their long list of local tap offerings. read more

I was extremely disappointed with Uncle Joes. They offer a GF and vegan selection but it was terrible. I am used to GF/vegan pizzas so I know what to expect but I was grossed out honestly. They put on chunks of vegan mozzarella in blobs, the crust was burnt and it had NO flavor. I put so much salt and pepper on the pizza and it didn't help. Even had it not have been burnt I think it would've still been bad. 2 stars for the wonderful service we received and my husband enjoyed his regular pizza. read more

Ordered three times in the last month. Two instances were delivery. Pizza was cold both times, one time it wasn't even what I ordered, the salad was delivered without dressing, and the delivery was fifteen minutes late. The only time it was good was when I picked it up. For the delivery fee and gratuity, I should be able to rely on the service, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I hope they get it together soon. read more

Uncle Joe's is up there with the best, this location is no exception. i got a cheese pizza topped with black olives, greek (Kalamata)olives, and mushrooms. the mushrooms were flavorful, which was nice! some places don't choose the right ones. my server/cashier was Keenak, she was very nice and gave some kind of discount which i didn't understand, but she also mentioned karma. any business is formed to make money, but if they don't value their employees and customers, it won't matter. this business clearly does. i will be back. read more

I'm getting tired of paying top dollar for subpar customer service and most of all, food. Ordering online and they give a one hour wait time. I show up on time. They make me wait, only to realize my pizza was on their oven, waiting the whole time. I could tell the pizza had been sitting there a minimum of 30 minutes already. Long past the fresh pizza experience. Basically leftovers at that point. This isn't the first bad experience I've had at Uncle Joe's, but it'll be the last. Response: Mr. Joe, you had 5 workers that I could see. That's not short handed. Don't blame this pandemic on your business shortcomings. $40 for two medium pizzas is outrageous. read more

I really like this joint. Locally owned, not a big-name place. The people taking the orders over the phone are very polite and helpful (if you need suggestions!) -- The menu is expansive, I'm still trying out just the pizza! When they say 45 minutes to an hour, they mean it. When ordering delivery food, prompt times are important. Quality: So far, their pizzas have impressed me enough not to order from other national chains. Yes, their prices are a little higher, but their ingredients (as Papa Johns likes to gloat about) are just as good. The garlic cheese bread is always a winner, no matter which location you go to. Downtown, Old Seward, or Jewel Lake. It simply is awesome. What makes a good pizza? For me it starts with the crust. A good crust can basically ruin a good pizza. Uncle Joe's doesn't use stale dough (a serious cook like myself can tell stale dough). It's yeasty, crispy, and chewy where it needs to be. They use a consistant, well-rounded (nothing to spectacular) sauce, with fresh ingredients. A note about ingredients: They have one of the largest topping selections I have ever seen. In order to offer this, the prep work would be a nightmare. Obviously for certain ingredients, a "cut to order" approach has to be taken, or food waste/cost would be insane. These are definitely fresh ingredients. I also noticed the dice on the veggies is very consistant -- something that takes practice and training. *nod to the people in the kitchen* I notice details such as this, and you should too if you care about your food. I would recommend you order your pizza "well done" from this location -- it seems they like to pull the pizza's a little early from the Jewel lake location. Nothing major, just another 2 minutes or so in the oven. I gave this a 4 out of 5 because I couldn't give it a 4.5. I am really glad this place is nearby and local! Can you give a place zero stars? Worst service ever. They messed up my order and when I got home and discovered the error I called and got passed around to three people including the manager who then passed me off to the cook who blamed me and then hung up on me after I said I would be going elsewhere in the future. When I called back he denied hanging up on me and claimed he was trying to help me but was very busy. This was my first time there and I will never go back. I don't need to pay money to get disrespected. I must say the Tudor location is phenomenal!! Especially the manager Doug. Over the years, I have been to several of the Uncle Joe's locations and have never been disappointed with our pizzas. The Jewel Lake location is always our go to if we are just picking up instead of dining in. I never think to write yelp reviews but last night I was so impressed with employees I wanted to give a shout out. All of them greeted me with a big smile and friendly chatter. I left there feeling appreciated for my business and in a better mood than when I walked in. When I got home, the pizza looked picture perfect and tasted amazing. Someof my favorite pizza however the hours are not as great as i would like them to be. One glitch that has bitten me more than once is their phonelines forward to the tudor store and they allow you to order but when you go to pick it up your store is closed. This has been a disappointment when ordering for a large group as I do most of the time. It is then when I have to go to moose's tooth. Not a bad joint but much prefer Joes. read more

Under normal circumstances I would chalk up late delivery to being busy. But this is the second - and last - time I will order from the Uncle Joes Pizza on Jewel Lake Road. We ordered online at 5:30 and said it would be delivered at 6:30. I called at 7:00 and I was told that the delivery system online was "messing up" but the guy on the line said he saw my pizza had already been made and it was sitting there waiting, but they could deliver right then. Well, dude, I ordered it for delivery and the receipt shows a delivery fee. So.. yes. Please do. I confirmed that I would still like the pizza and the guy on the phone said it was on its way. Fast forward to 7:45. The delivery man shows up and immediately said 'I'm sorry your pizza delivery got pushed on to back and lost in the shuffle.' Or something very close. I expressed my concern that the pizza was ready before 6:30 and that it wouldn't be fresh. He asked me to open the pizza.. and it's as you're probably guessing.. cold. Cheese looked day old, pepperoni was greasy, box was luke warm. And they expected me to pay full price! Absolutely not. I sent the pizza back and, after acknowledging that the mistake wasn't the drivers fault, turned the pizza away. Never again. read more

Out of all the places we've tried for delivery in Anchorage, this takes the cake. It took less than an hour, which was also estimated by the person who answered our call. Try the Spelt Wheat Crust if you like wheat, it is delicious. Definitely looking forward to trying some of their other gourmet pizzas sometime soon. read more

They were horrible. my family has been using them for years and I moved back here after 5 years and there service has gone down hill. they got the order wrong never showed up. When i called the person on the phone was yelling at someone ells. They also said she wrote it down as pick up and i said no, it was for delivery. Keeping us hungry and waiting she had the audacity to try to charge me a $3 delivery fee over the phone on top of that. I said no cancelled my order. Called great Alaska Pizza Co. ordered the same thing and still came in $12 lower on top of an extra order of bred sticks!!! Not to mention it only took them 30 min insted of an hour!!!
