I'm gonna be honest here....I the other reviews and decided to try this old school spot again because I like an abnormal amount of pineapple on my pizza and the super special did the trick. My experience though was it had a lot of pie apple but it also had the perfect amount of other toppings, the sauce was yummy and a good amount of cheese was present. They are currently remodeling so there is only takeout. The owner came out and said hello and gave me updates on the remodel and it sounds like they have some exciting plans. We have been coming to this restaurant for years. It has consistently had great pizza, pasta, salads and sandwiches. The service is fast and the staff friendly and efficient. The prices are reasonable and it is good for families. They have a lively take out business that keeps the kitchen constantly making pizza and sandwiches. We are particularly fond of the antipasto salad. All the ingredients are fresh, and dressing is flavorful. The serving is large and we usually split it and then a pizza. I like it so much I have had one dining and then asked to have to go for later or the next day. Today we had the split the antipasto salad and a torpedo sandwich. The salad has lettuce, onion, tomato, mushrooms, black olives, oil and finger with Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese. You have an option to add anchovies if you like the tiny salty fish to your salad at no extra cost. The sandwich had a fresh wide Italian bread roll, thinly sliced ham, tomato, onion, lettuce, an Italian dressing. The roll is lightly toasted and seasoned before the ingredients are added. This gives the Roll a warm taste with the cold ingredients. Excellently done and very tasty sandwich. Prices are reasonable and in light with Anchorage small family restaurants. This restaurant reminds me of the many small Italian family neighborhood restaurants in upstate NY. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. This is not fancy or touristy. Just went here for the first time with some friends and I really like the set up, it felt like I was in a pizza shop you would see on tv. The service was amazing and our waitress was quick too service anything we need we honestly never had to ask for anything. Anyone who knows me knows that I have very high pizza standards because I'm originally from Philly- home of THE BEST PIZZA AND CHEESESTEAKS. I have brutally high standards when it comes to these comfort foods. Muldoon makes a respectable cheese pie! I didn't have to add any seasonings, which I normally do. Horrible experience! My husband and I have been getting pizza here for years. It must have been sold or something because we couldn't even find a phone number on the website. We had some questions about the a menu so we called using the number I had in my phone. The girl that answered the phone was so put out by having to answer questions that she put the phone down and later came back on the phone. I could hear other people laughing in the background and talking about her putting the phone down. We have always supported local businesses over Corporate entities. Needless to say, we will not "support"Muldoon Pizza EVER again! Very sad - it was a nice local place that many people and local sports teams frequented. One would think that with the current gov shutdown and civilian jobs being cut at JBER (right down the road), they might want to think twice before being rude and hateful to people. read more

It's my favorite pizza in Anchorage. The crust has just the right amount of crunchiness to it and the lady working the register and as waitress is always friendly. However, in terms of ambiance, it has the old-fashioned feel of a pizza parlor from the 1970's and 1980's and is run-down. But of course remodeling a restaurant is very expensive! When I called to place the order, the female that answered wasn't friendly. When ending the call I said thank you, no response, just hung up. The pizza flavorless, resembled a frozen cardboard pizza, thin & nearly sauce less. Ususally when ordering a salad, a majority of restaurants put the dressing on the side, the dressing was already on the salad. Ate here regularly years ago as the pizza was fantastic (10 yrs.) but had moved out of Anchorage, so no longer visited it. Recently was back in Anchorage for awhile, visiting relative and thought why not order a great pizza from here! Nice folks. The pizza took quite a long time to get made, which was odd because (out of 12 to 14? tables), only 5 tables had customers in them. (I didn't see but only one person come in to pick up their pizza and nobody leave to deliver any, the whole time I waited there). I Purchased the Super Special to go. Got home and opened up the box and it had the most pineapple I have ever seen in 50 yrs. of pizza's. In fact that appeared to be the the main ingredient above all else. There was supposed to be 4 kinds of meats on it, could only see about 3 and not very much. hard to find the mushrooms. Onions? Cheese was quite sparse, could see the crust through the toppings and it had almost no pizza sauce. If you had closed your eye's & tasted the pizza you would swear it was a sauce-free pizza. My father showed me his and I first thought maybe they didn't spread it around evenly. Nope, the whole pizza had so little sauce on it, it was like a red stain smeared underneath the very thin cheese and pizza crust. The the pizza & crust taste good - in spite of the too much pinapple, (of which I removed half.) and lack of sauce, etc. Great dissapointment. Maybe that is their style pizza. Everyone is different. So if you like pizza with little cheese (compared to other local pizzaria's), the almost no sauce, then this is the pizza for you, it does taste great. read more

I lived on Muldoon St. in the 70's when this pizza place was brand new and it was my favorite as a kid growing up. 45 years later I was happy to see it still existed and was even happier to discover that it tasted just as good as I remembered. Got rave reviews about this place from a coworker so I decided to try it out. Super mom n pop kinda shop in a sketchy looking strip mall but most of the exteriors of establishments are like that here in Anchorage so it didn't deter me. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza which came out to $18. It was hot and fresh and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of sauce cheese and pepperonis. Compared to great Alaskan pizza and the standard chain restaurants it's was actually a decent pie. Somewhere in between Costco pizza and Mooses tooth. Nothing I'd write home about but a good go to when craving a simple pepperoni pizza. read more

Awesome place. Looks a bit sketch on the outside, but inside there's comfortable seating with the classic Pizza Hut style booths and table covers. Our server was very kind and friendly, and said many of the toppings were made fresh in house. The pizza was not too thick (they did have a thick crust on the menu if that's your thing) but overall was fantastic. So much cheese. Highly recommend stopping by- definitely will be back! read more

It had a few onions. a couple of olives. cheese unripe tomatoes and PINEAPPLE!!! WTH!! Who puts pineapple on a vegetarian. gross! But hey it is on their menu...it smelled awesome. Did the standard Pepperoni and Combo and both way better than the typical pizza. A home made crust - nothing quite like it. Soon as you walk in the girl greets you with a smile and a wave not to mention their honesty is very commendable. The waitress, Michelle was super friendly, attentive and very likable. She promptly lit a candle, provided menus and got our drink order. The salad was a mountain of quality toppings, enough for two people to share. My half pepperoni / half cheese pizza was Very good! The crust was perfect to my liking; not too thick and not too thin. I'm pretty sure the even though Anchorage is flooded with tourists that very few end up here. We only ended up here because we have a buddy that lives down the street and he loves coming here because he said there's rarely because he said there's rarely crowds and he always gets the same booth. This is your typical, average, local pizza joint that is nothing to get excited about but nothing is terrible either. The pizza is as close to average as you can get. You'll never crave it, but you won't complain about it either. And no, it's nowhere near as good as places like Moose's Tooth or even out of the ovens that you'll see at 49th State Brewery or the Brewhouse. What you can bank on here is great value. Three of us ate like kings and the total bill was like $30. One of the disappointments was the salad. Unfortunately, it was all iceberg lettuce. Throw some romaine on there or even some spring greens and it would be much better. We also ordered sausage and spaghetti with marinara and just like the pizza there was nothing wrong with it at all it tasted like pasta with sauce nothing better or nothing worse. So why should you come here? Well, most likely they'll be an open booth for you and you'll get good service and tons of value. You're not going to have to wait online like you would at the downtown brew houses or at a place like Moose's Tooth. In fact, you may have this place all to yourself just like we did. read more
