Wow this place was amazing! I don't have anything bad to say because everything was great! From the moment we arrived and waited for a table to leaving, the customer service was phenomenal. For a Friday brunch visit, it was very busy but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. They have a sign up sheet outside of the door for your name and number, and they call respectively. All the food looked great and smelled amazing - From skillets to Mexican cuisine to classic breakfast dishes. A returning customer recommended the chicken fried steak (which is my go-to) so I had to get it! The cinnamon roll was huge (picture doesn't do justice) and it was soft and delicious, not too sweet! Pancakes were better than iHOP. Cheree (so?) was our waitress but everyone was helping all the tables equally. She was very kind and attentive. This type of breakfast spot is my favorite. I try my best to look for places like this on my trips. The place isn't huge so if you have a big group I would call ahead but great place for a nice quiet breakfast. Feels like a family owned business not like a chain restaurant. Met the family here for breakfast. Everyone loved it. I had the chile rellano breakfast. The rellanos were great as was the green chile. It did not come with tortillas which is normally standard for a chile rellano breakfast. It was awesome though. Exactly what I wanted. The green chile is not super spicy but does have a sort of peppery spiciness that had many people coughing/sneezing. Our table ordered a wide variety of food. The breakfast burrito, chilaquiles, breakfast quesadilla, etc. It was all great. The service was great as well. Everyone was polite and the food came out pretty quick. I will definitely be back. I am SO impressed. We were a two top on a Sunday around 11, and waited almost 45 minutes for a seat, but it was so worth it! Service was really friendly, and it's a restaurant in a strip mall so the decor is about what you expect, but the FOOD. If you are looking for some down home cooking with serious flavor, this is the place. We had the biscuits and gravy, which had nice chunks of sausage and perfectly seasoned gravy. The supreme smothered burrito was a little spicy, but just as flavorful and really meaty. The food came out quickly once we were seated too. My family and I love this place. We go at least once a month. Service is great, portion sizes are great and the chili taste amazing.

On our drive from Denver Airport to Estes Park, we were dying from hunger after our flight and desperately needed brunch. We searched up diners on Google Maps and Mr. Egg was conveniently on our route and had the highest rating. We pulled into the parking lot and got a table for four. It was great. The portions were huge! The food was great! The staff were super friendly, kind, and hilarious! It had a "family restaurant" vibe that wasn't pretentious. The place was clean with a good amount of seating. We didn't have to wait (though we came on a weekday). Did I mention the great food in huge portions? We all loved our dishes (which ranged from pork chop to biscuits to skillets to sandwiches) and we all took leftovers with us. I was a particularly big fan of the pork chop, which was seasoned to perfection and not too dry. I'm not sure when we'll go back to Colorado, but Mr. Egg will definitely be a stop! read more

This came as a highly recommended place by a local and as out of towner's we gave it a shot. We were immediately greeted and seated upon entry. Staff was so extremely friendly right off the bat. We ordered the breakfast burrito supreme and chicken fried steak and eggs. Man oh man was this food delicious. The green chili on the burrito was bomb! Bursting with flavor and a wonderful amount of spice. Nicely filled with plenty of meat and extremely filling. I couldn't finish the entire burrito but gave it a good shot. The chicken fried steak was nicely seasoned, eggs wonderfully cooked and the gravy tasted amazing. So glad we stopped in for this meal. My family has been coming to Mr. Egg for quite some time now, so I feel it's time to leave a proper review. Mr. Egg is a locally owned and operated restaurant in the old Thornton/Denver area and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've personally only have eaten breakfast here, which is always amazing. Nothing flashy-nothing fancy, just great breakfast! I have tried quite a few of the breakfast options which are all equally great, but my go-to is the breakfast platter with French toast. On occasion I'll get a Chile Relleno (smothered in Chile verde of course) on the side to offset the sweet syrup with with some spicy flavor! The service is always great as all of the waitstaff that I've encountered are friendly. The food is always cooked to order and comes out fast and piping hot. The ambiance is that of any local diner, so no frills, just simple dining. This place tends to get busy no matter what day of the week it is, so be prepared to wait for a table. Personally I think the food isn't good, it has a weird taste to the mouth and the wait time is terrible. I sign up and we have to wait hours even though we were first. It's a small joint but as light and cherry as the staff and patrons. The food is so good, won't go wrong with whatever you decide and it comes out quick and hot. My husband and I stopped by here for a late breakfast last month. We have only had takeout for the past year and we're planning to do the same here until we noticed that they had outdoor seating and no one was sitting out there. Since the weather was nice, we figured we'd stay and enjoy our meal there. I ordered a veggie skillet, which was delicious. There were tons of vegetables and the portion was huge! With the side of pancakes that it comes with, I had more than enough food for two meals. Not bad for less than $10! The food also came out so quick and their waitstaff was so friendly. My coffee cup never got below half. My husband had Italian sausage and eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy. He loved his food as well. He said the sausage had great flavor and loved how large the "side" of biscuits and gravy was. We can't wait to introduce this place to others once we feel safer doing dine-in. read more
