After catching up with friends at Martinez Marina, we wanted to get some coffee before going our separate ways. Since we've been boycotting a certain coffee establishment with the mermaid logo, and our once coffee spot that is now owned by a private equity firm, we wanted to go to a locally-owned coffee shop and support them instead. My friend, who also happens to live in Martinez, found this spot on Yelp and we all drove here. We arrived there with a couple of hours to spare before they closed. It's a small, charming and quaint coffee shop with plenty to offer like baked goods and pastries. The young lady working at the counter was friendly, accommodating and provided us with answers to our questions and explained their menu. My Martinez friend mentioned that he wasn't aware this place even existed and that his kids went to school just a couple blocks away. They've been in business for 13 years, and she actually graduated from the same school that his kids went to. I ordered an Iced Pistachio Latte (not too sweet), while my friends ordered a hot drink (regular latte, I believe) and another iced drink. And yes, one can ask to customize the sweetness level to your preference. We also got a slice of Pistachio Nutella Coffee Cake and a Strawberry Coffee Cake. Coffee is good (that's all we can ask for) and she gave us a generous portion of the coffee cake since there was three of us to share the cake with. My friend said he would definitely return again since he knew this place existed and continue to support local businesses.

Woke up wanting to get a good cup of coffee and came across Mountain grounds located off Alhambra st. I ordered a large iced vanilla oat milk latte, John's veggie omelette, blueberry muffin and carrot loaf. Vanilla latte was good could have used a little more vanilla because it tasted more like a regular iced latte but over it was good. John's veggie oatmeal was served in a coffee cup which threw me off but ended up actually really enjoying the practicality of eating out of a cup on the go the omelette it's self was fresh the veggies were perfectly cooked for my taste it could have used a little salt and pepper but I did enjoy it either way. Pastry portions were huge definitely can be shared I really appreciate that they are not overly sweet which in my opinion pairs perfectly with coffee. The two ladies behind the counter were welcoming and friendly they answered my questions regarding the coffee and freshness of pastries. The ambiance was giving small neighborhood coffee shop with local art work which I really liked as I am a huge art junkie. I definitely see myself going back occasionally to get a cup of joe before my morning walk here.

Such a cute shop! It's cozy inside, but I loved looking at all of the cool swag they have, and everything is so easy to find. They also sell their beans, which was a nice surprise! We ended up with those and a few stickers before ordering a brown sugar cinnamon latte (on recommendation from the barista) and a giant mint chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was really big. A bit on the drier side, but I loved the flavor. Not too sweet, and the mint was just right. The latte was really good. Perfect temperature, and just the right amount of sweetness. Very good espresso taste came through the foam. Perfect little treat on a cold and rainy day! Service is really fast and friendly. I'll be back!

This place is consistently awesome and the staff is really attentive. They are always friendly and seem to know my drink. They make their Bakery goods and it always look enticing. I usually grab a baked good or cookie on the weekend. I love their house made zero sugar hazelnut syrup and they always seem to have seasonal drink specials. They have a drink card stamp reward program which makes it easier to get a free coffee after a certain amount of visits. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and want a quick pick me up or a baked goodie which is house made.

Grabbed a pistachio mocha this morning from their specials menu. It was delicious! Mountain Grounds is a super quaint and friendly coffee shop, located on Alhambra in Martinez not far off the freeway. They have tons of fresh baked goods that looked absolutely incredible! It's mostly a grab and go as they only have a handful of tables outside but it's definitely worth a visit! You can order online through DoorDash or in person.

Such a cool, cozy find! The staff is super nice, the pastries are amazing, and the coffee is spot-on. My perfect Sunday spot for coffee with the fam.

Such a cute little coffee shop! We stopped in early before heading to our mom's appointment and were so glad we did. The barista was incredibly pleasant and friendly, the service was great, and they had so many delicious homemade pastries to choose from. A perfect little morning stop!

Unfortunately, Mountain Grounds is not great. I had ordered a pickup order of a Frosted mint Mocha and received a hot drink. When I showed the female person at the counter, she said ... that's what was ordered. I said, it was a Frosted drink ... it should be cold, she said no and then I was just so baffled because she was not friendly and did not even acknowledge how crazy that sounded to have a frosted drink be hot ... I showed her a picture of the drink (which had ice cubes floating) and she offered to remake but I was in a rush and just grabbed cups of ice. I also ordered the Avocado Toast and to no surprise at this point, inside the bag was 2 pieces of toasted bread with a mush of avocado inside ... no seasonings or garnishments as described on their menu. The Mountain Panini was sad as well, two slides of toasted bread with 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of turkey and a strip of bacon. So low class and cheap. Do better.

This place is really cute, there is seating area outside. I looked for gluten free pastries and this place came up, so I gave it a tried; unfortunately there is no gluten free baked goods available. They do have regular pastries and they look good, they also make sandwiches and a mix of coffee and other drinks. I decided to try their pistachio latter (hot $5.75) it was good. Staff were friendly!

So happy I don't know how to drive because I randomly found this place after taking the wrong exit. The flavors are melting on my tongue. This place is bussin and the workers are a vibe. I live in Vallejo but I would definitely pay that ridiculous toll for another sweater weather latte. Quite literally yum. And that ham and cheese croissant gave me a foodgasm. 10/10 love this cute little gem

I would encourage every patron start the day off teaching the barista a lesson that may change the barista into be a little more appropriate. The best way, place the barista on restriction and restrict the tips to one copper penny and not any other money, coins or dollars to be the tip. From now on the only tip paid to the barista is just 1 copper penny. The ambiance needs working on inside barrelista coffee house.

To start, the employee working at the cash register was super friendly and gave great suggestions on drinks and food to order based on how sweet we like things or more coffee for we may want things to be. There isn't really any indoor seating space but they did build out into the parking lot with a few picnic tables and chairs for people to stay and eat their food. While we both really enjoyed the food - both of which were recommended by the employee - the coffee was not good at all. Pro: the avocado toast that we ordered had a curried chickpea salad on top and it had a delicious flavor. That was probably my favorite bite! We also shared half order of the blueberry waffle, and it had a type of granola on top that provided some really great textures. The food certainly impressed me. Con: Both of us felt like the coffee had none of the flavor that it was supposed to have (we both ordered the cardamom maple iced latte with macadamia nut milk) and instead, it just tasted like milk. It didn't even really have a coffee forward flavor. Since this is a coffee shop that was a pretty big disappointment. Overall, we enjoyed the food and service, but would skip the coffee.

Reyes getaway, so we hit this spot, a short walk from our Airbnb. First and foremost, great service. The folks working there were genuinely friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was also a gentleman there as a customer, I believe he was related to one of the employees, who was so sweet and helpful with getting the door for us and helping us get a place to sit, as we juggled our ordered items and wandered around in a bit of a stupor before we had had our coffee. Thank you, good sir. I am still genuinely amazed at how nice people are in these small, off-the-beaten-path towns, as opposed to in the overpacked rat cage urban areas. Popular spot, with a good number of bicyclists, passers-through, and locals coming in for coffee and eats. They have an impressive selection of pastries and sandwiches, and I really wish I had tried the veggie croissant which looked great. We got coffees and shared a slice of quiche. I got my usual iced coffee, and happily, they had oat milk to go with it. After we paid, we realized they also have momos, so you know we had to get a round. We left happy, awake, and ready for another day.
