Mosiac is most likely the finest restaurant in Redding, let me explain. If you've read my reviews, I am always rooting for local businesses. A great Restaurant is in a great location, has great ambiance, with great staff and great food. Mosaic definitely checks all of those boxes. First, the location is great, located in the brand new Sheraton Hotel property adjacent to Turtle Bay and the Sundial Bridge, both huge Redding Attractions. Ambiance is fantastic, with a clean modern decor inside the Bar and Restaurant. The building and architecture fit in nicely with the surrounding area and the Sheraton Hotel property. The property is immaculate with fresh clean winding walkways with several outdoor fire pits. The staff are knowledgable and welcoming, and actually take a minute to get to know their guests. The service was prompt and professional. Most of all, Redding is so lucky to have such a talented Chef with an impressive resume to back it up. Chef Joshua is amazing, bringing his worldly experience back to the Northern California. He has experience at Michelin rated restaurants like the French Laundry in Yountville. His resume is impressive, but more impressive is his food and passion. On our visit we had the pleasure of meeting the Chef, and his friendly, outgoing, humble demeanor matches the quality of his food. On our visit we ordered the Duck and the Carbonara Pasta. Both dishes were a solid 10 out of 10. The Duck was perfectly cooked with a nice crunchy fat in each bite. The accompaniments were spot on. The pasta Carbonara was made with a delicious prosciutto, fresh local mushrooms, and the pasta noodle itself was cooked perfectly al dente'. These entree's were better than food we have ordered in Italy and Europe. My hope is that Mosaic will be able to attract both local and travelers alike to keep this hidden gem and talented chef busy enough to make it in Redding. read more

I enjoyed my lunch at Mosaic. My friends and I sat in the back away from the bar and it was nice and quiet. I ordered the Calzone and was shocked when it was delivered to the table. The size of it was impressive and it tasted just as good. The service was okay, I waited on my water to be refilled multiple times and at one point walked to the bar to get a water refill myself. read more

Off the beaten path this elegant restaurant along the Sac river became an indulgent lunch break for this I-5 traveler. Recommended by a waiter in Ashland as a great lunch dinner stopover, I took his advice and stopped. Mosiac is attached to the Sheraton, a Bonvoy Marriott property. It is also adjacent to Turtle Adventure Park and the Sundial Bridge. This is a great place to lunch a land stretch your legs! Perfect if you need a break from driving. In need of some greens, I opted for their miso steak salad. Just full of savory flavors and awakened my taste buds and renewed my senses for the 2 1/2 drive to Sac Town. The restaurant itself is very open but cozy. Lots of big screens for any sports minded diner to catch a game. They are not overwhelming however so one can still enjoy a quiet dinner as well. Lots of natural light and decorated in a way you feeling you've reached the garden of Eden! Obviously, I highly recommend. Easy access to freeways. read more

Great find by Turtle Bay. I would drive back up to Redding to eat there again. Yummy pizza, good drinks and fantastic dessert.

My friend and I have both been having a lot of struggles in our personal lives and needed a day off, so we decided to take a vacation day on a random Thursday and go to the Sundial Bridge so I could see what all the hype was about. Once we were there we decided that we absolutely deserve a nice lunch and a drink so decided to go to Mosaic and it was *so* incredibly worth it. We sat at the bar, and I'll be fully transparent here, it was a bad day for them. It seemed like they were short staffed, with all their FOH people looking like they were running around covering for at least one person who wasn't there, and their system kept going offline to boot. When I tell you that we had the best lunch, the most amazing drinks, and such a good time, I will go back on any day, including the days when it should have been miserable. Every single staff member was kind, but the bartender who was serving us was the best. He was apologetic when he felt he was behind, even though we never felt like we were being ignored or that anything was moving slowly. We were able to enjoy our food (we split the ceaser salad, and a french dip) when we asked him to make us a drink, based off color, liquor type and "sweet" he not only did so but made us probably the best drink I've ever tasted. The food was top tier, but beyond that we were able to sit there and talk about death and tear up, then switch to laughing over something ridiculous and still felt welcome to be there taking up space at their bar. I wish I lived closer I would go back regularly because the staff that was was so great. I cannot for the life of me remember our bartenders name, but it was Thursday July 24 so if management sees this please give that guy a raise, or at the very least some praise. He handled two frazzled women with grace, and when other customers were being unkind he never faltered and stayed professional across the board. 13/10 on all fronts, we will absolutely be coming back and hopefully soon. read more

The wait staff was very nice. We had hoped to eat on the back patio but were instead put in front patio where there's not a lot of ambience. You could tell the wine has been opened. My husband's chicken was under cooked and my salad was okay but the blue cheese seemed off. They do have a dog menu which is very nice and again the staff were friendly. read more

The restaurant is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We weren't greeted when we entered and waited just a few minutes before getting seated without a reservation. We went during brunch time. We were seated in a more dimly lit area which gave for a cool ambiance toward the back side of the restaurant. Our waiter Ryan was an interesting fellow but was nice. We didn't get any water refills though which my friend needed so she had to drink my water. The food was delicious. The salad was very light with the vinaigrette. The salmon cakes were super moist and paired nicely with the jalapeño aioli. I liked the capers inside the salmon cakes giving it a little pop of flavor balance. The prime rib au jus sandwich was delicious and super filling. I couldn't even finish it. My friend also ordered the French onion soup which was a lot bigger than it looked. We ordered mimosas as well. We got to go boxes for our sandwiches and poured our au jus in to go cups where the waiter was intrigued if we could get it in the cup which was kind of amusing. Overall I'd recommend this spot to enjoy a meal. read more

One of the few places in town that properly makes a whiskey sour with egg whites. Also, their gluten free pizza and brussel sprouts are amazing. Being right next to the sun dial is a bonus; perfect for an after dinner, summer evening stroll. read more

We have such a great time at Mosaic. The staff are friendly and the food is great! Highly recommend!!

Lovely location and views Convenient lunch location that offers views of the Sundial Bridge and Turtle bay adventure park. The large patio offers a wonderful selection of seating with views from every angle. However, this is only for the main back patio that faces the park. As far as the lunch selections-we loved getting two menus-one for hoomans and one for our fur baby! Both menus offer a nice variety of lunch options. The main menu offers an array of: appetizers, fresh salads, brick-oven pizzas, and delicious mixed drinks. The dog menu offers a few freshly mixed dishes sure to make any fur baby happy. They even serve the dog with style. Overall, a pleasant and fun lunch location that offers beautiful views and a welcoming vibe for hoomans and fur babies. Note: Slow but friendly service. Perk: Dog friendly. They offer a dog menu!! So cute. read more

We were so impressed with the outstanding customer service from Coby. During our visit to Turtle Bay Exploration Park yesterday, my best friend's blood sugar dropped quite low, and he went above and beyond to make sure she got some juice right away. His genuine care and concern throughout our meal meant so much, and he continued to provide excellent service the entire time. The Rosemary Thai wings were absolutely delicious--we loved them so much we came back again today! This time we also tried the fries, and they were so addicting I had to have them taken away before I finished the whole plate. read more

Quick Summary Pleasantly surprised by how great the Sheraton restaurant was. Excellent food and service. Great location nearby the Sundial Bridge (they have a back patio but it's still about 5 minute walk to the Sundial Bridge; go to Branch House if you want a direct view of the Sundial Bridge while enjoying your meal). Lots of parking, but a hit or miss if you get a close spot Food- 5 stars Octopus panzanella- the octopus was cooked perfectly and it was pretty good. A bit on the saucy side miso steak salad- cooked perfectly and plenty of flavor. Really enjoyed this salad Harvest pasta- well balanced and absolutely delicious Olive oil cake- pretty good and a very large serving as well Service- 5 stars Excellent service throughout Bottom Line Excellent restaurant, especially if you're staying at the Sheraton (given the location). Guaranteed a great meal, service, and ambiance. read more

The bartender was working, double duty, serving drinks inside and outside and running the cash register. The wait staff was standing around and I don't know what the chefs were doing. We waited an hour and were told that our food would come out in another 10 or 15 minutes. We decided to call it and left after an hour and 15 minutes with no lunch. Too bad I can't tell you about the food. This place has great ambience and it is a shame that it doesn't live up to the location. read more

We ordered dinner for take-out. What we got was okay but way over priced for what it was. My husband ordered the duck, which was okay but not as good as other places we tried on our trip. It was meant to come with a salad and didn't. I ordered the Caesar salad with prawns and dressing on the side. No dressing was included: a heap of green and 5 prawns with 3 large croutons. The person who took our order wasn't paying attention. She asked me to repeat things several times and when she read the order back it wasn't right. The person who handed it to us was very friendly and, when she realized we were staying T the hotel, offered real silverware and napkins. That's a plus. There is a nice patio area where people and their dogs can dine. The indoors area had fairly loud music playing and a game on--it reaffirms the saying, "if it's too loud, you're too old. " read more

Mosaic is a quality environment with beautiful natural views and direct access to the Sundial Bridge, River Trail, Little Animal Zoo, and kid play areas. It's a true piece of American class and elegance--complete with a cozy fireplace, a wide selection of IPA craft beers, top-shelf liquors, and an amazing staff that truly cares. A special shout-out to Victoria, the Food and Beverage Supervisor, whose professionalism and warmth made the experience even more memorable. This place is doing an outstanding job--excellent service, high-quality food, and an inviting atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and visit today. You'll be glad you did. The server was great. And we've been there the last few years and the Valentine's Day meal was exceptional. But this year it was ice, cold puff pastry with a teaspoon of Brey and apricot undressed greens underneath. Followed by a very under seasoned steak, crunchy polenta, and congealed demi-glace. The desserts were not bad, but we heard that they were store bought and brought in. $300 for that meal we will never go back. Sorry Mosaic you need to do better to get people to come back. read more

Bartender was our server and he was way over loaded, his support staff was clueless. The food was served cold ( both appetizer and main) and it was like they could care less. We told our server about it and he remarked "I'll just take it off. " No apology no anything, Save your money and go somewhere else because they really don't care whether you're satisfied or not. Bad form Mosaic...just bad form! Oh by the way, it was 1 pm on Thursday when this occurred read more

A great place to go for a nice evening out. The food and the drinks are great and the waitstaff has been lovely every time I've visited.

Came in to eat during what I thought would be lunch hour but it was happy hour. Prices are very slightly reduced. I wanted something from the regular appetizers but the waiter let me know the chefs won't make it during happy hour. We stayed the extra hour for dinner and finally ordered the appetizer we wanted, It was worth the wait but would've been better if it was already on the happy hour menu, or if you could just order from the regular dinner menu. Service was fine, nothing extraordinary but the food was good. There wasn't many people inside, but it still took 40 minutes to receive our pizza. Once it arrived it had a hole in the dough, they asked if we wanted this pizza or to wait 3 minutes for a new one, we just said it's fine and took it since it had been so long and we were starving. Overall the food was a 5/5, but the wait, service, and availability of items was a 3/10. read more

Small town fine dining restaurant that was quite impressive! Fine dining restaurants in San Francisco are small plates / sharing portions so we definitely ordered too much but it gave us plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day and more dishes to review. Elote Tagliatte: 4/5 so creamy and delicious. The fried cotija really added to the experience. It didn't have enough acid tho so the creaminess became overwhelming after a bit. Shroom Shroom Pizza: 2/5 the flavor was lacking but the pizza dough is very good! Would probably get something else Crispy Brussels: 5/5 I just love crispy Brussel sprouts in general! The lemon marmalade with the pecans just elevated the sprouts Pickled French fry: 3/5 a little dry and tasted almost like a spiced sweet potato. Ran out of secret sauce but it was good with ranch. Probably would skip next time. Beet salad: 4/5 beets + oranges + fennel + feta is the perfect combo!!! But it felt like it was missing something Rosemary pavlova: 4/5 it was the most random combination ever but it somehow worked? Rosemary pavlova topped with corn pudding, black rice and stone fruit. The corn pudding really surprised me but it balanced so well with the Rosemary pavlova! Our server (Zane, I believe was his name): amazing! He was very sweet and attentive. We were sitting in a hidden spot but we were never forgotten and he was lovely to chat with. read more

Very nice food at the mosaic restaurant, and good wine and drink list. We ate outside because we were traveling with our dog. Tables are well spread out, so it's comfortable with numerous dogs. A little uncomfortable seating, but sufficient. Service was excellent on our busy night. They have a lot of room for family groups. A wedding was going on at the next door Sheraton, not sure if the staff works both places. It's a lively, fun area. read more

My husband made reservations for Thanksgiving a week in advance. We arrived five minutes before service began. We were immediately seated at a tiny table in a white tiled closet (off of the kitchen) by a waitress who jokingly stated, "I hope you don't mind if I put you right here in the corner?" I replied, "Did I do something wrong?" She smiled, rattled off the items on the menu (over the din from the kitchen) and zipped out of the space. My husband followed after the waitress to inquire about a table in the restaurant. It was early, tables were plentiful in the main space and (as I mentioned) we had a reservation. "Could we have the table for two right there?" "No," the dead eyed manager intervened. Consequently, we were forced to move from our faux autumnal environs into the real November wind and leaves on the patio. Our baby faced waiter set up the propane heater and assured us he'd be around to assist with any big words on the menu. No thanks. We have actually encountered words other than 'hamburger' on menus before. We had not consumed hummus sans bread or utensils and asked for his recommendations with the second course. "Oh, you must have sent your utensils back to the kitchen!" "No," we stated, "We haven't received any utensils." The dead-eyed manager dropped by the table to inform us that she was prepared to "comp" our first round of drinks. My husband thought it a generous action. Unfortunately, I had another dinner at Mosaic that went exactly the same way. The food is pretty average. The staff think they've earned a Michelin star. read more

The hotel was great, nice clean rooms. Now let's talk about the Mosaic restaurant. The service was very slow we ordered fried pickles spears very good.the margarita flight smaller then they show on there website. My husband got the 14oz steak not worth 50 dollars served with French fries. He got a salad on the side disappointing they didn't have blue cheese dressing or thousand island i also got a salad borh not worth the 6 dollars each . I got the queen prime rib with a salad and baked potato. It came plain no butter sour cream I at least asked for sour cream they never refilled our drinks regular ice tea i hate that in a service .. This place was not worth the 180.00. Then 1hr later yes the dinner went right through me and several times next morning. Would not recommend what we got !!! read more

We had our dog and according to the website, dogs are allowed to dine with you outside. The hostess told us there were a lot of mosquitos outside. We said we have our dog, so we thought we had to sit outside. She said nothing to this, but added us to the waitlist and then when she called us, sat us outside. The mosquitos were pretty bad and there was a bad playing that we did not enjoy either. We decided to just take out food to go back to the hotel. My husband got the burger which he ordered medium but was so undercooked, he couldn't eat the center. I got a pizza which was oddly sweet. When we walked back through the restaurant to leave, someone was dining inside with their dog. If dogs are allowed to eat inside, that would've been nice to know. read more

Made reservations many weeks in advance for Thanksgiving dinner and requested seating inside the dining room. Arrived to find our table was not in the dining room and next to the patio doors. Dinner was over $1000 and such a waste. read more

We arrived here after a long drive and returned several times. Service was excellent and friendly. Ambiance was noisy indoors, and quieter outdoors. We ate outdoors. Food details: Burger: Juicy and nicely cooked to medium rare as requested. Beautiful! Unfortunately, the rosemary fries were all fries and very little rosemary. Salmon Patties: Very good! Crispy Brussel Sprouts: Definitely crispy. Too much crisp for me. Classic Meat Pizza: It came with large puddle of oil in the middle of the serving plate underneath the pizza. Nothing special here. Would not get this again. Elk Meatloaf: Elk & pork blend. "Not gamey at all", we were told. And it wasn't. But also didn't have much taste. Would not get this again. Mosaic Omelet: Excellent flavor, although the plate came with a lot of oil. Breaky Sando: Very good flavor, although the plate came with a lot of oil. read more

Nice ambience ample parking simple good food burgers pizzas cocktail and drinks. We went 2 times once before Christmas and second time on Christmas Day afternoon with our Biewer yorkie dog first time they seated us inside second time they said they don't allow dogs inside seating. We discovered this place during our 4th of July weekend in Redding. And I'd say it's a rare find in this small city. First off, the place has a super cool modern interior with an open kitchen. And also it is located right next to the Sundial Bridge. So we couldn't resist giving it a try. We arrived around 7pm, and there was a 30-minute wait. Kinda a bummer but not for people from SF haha. Our waiter was nice and friendly, she recommended their seasonal menu. My husband went for the vegetarian pizza with pesto and artichoke (he loved it!), while I picked the salad with duck. The salad was pretty good overall, but here's the thing - I asked for the duck to be well done, but it still came out medium rare. Not exactly what I had in mind. So, I'm giving them 4 stars this time. But my husband's pizza was a winner, and the overall vibe of the place was great. So if you find yourself in Redding, I recommend checking out Mosaic restaurant. There you can not only enjoy your meal but also walk around the Sundial Bridge. read more

OK, I've posted about our first visit here six years ago. This place never, I say, never disappoints. They have recently changed out their happy hour menu...and it's rocking. We've been here for lunch, dinner and brunch but this happy hour thing on a Friday was just plain delightful. The pizzas are large and priced right, along with the salads. The small bites are so perfectly cooked and plated. A smart tip is the breaded pickle chips and the pork belly sliders...figure it out:) Vegetarian wife loved the lettuce wraps...and the night wore on. P. S. Michael at the bar is a favorite. read more

I would usually just let this kind of thing go but the fact that I'm still thinking about it tells me I need to say something. Especially since it constitutes a cross contamination health code violation. 4 stars for a great food, attentive service and atmosphere, just a little issue with a server with an ego. I've been to this place at the suggestion of a friend a few times and had good experiences. I'm a nurse now but previously spent 15years in food service and have done every job in a restaurant you could do, and loved it. I know how demanding it is physically, mentally and emotionally to be in food service. I was sitting at the bar tonight, having dinner with a girlfriend, being wonderfully taken care of by the bartender when I see him pass off a parm shaker (small glass jar with perforated metal lid holding Parmesan cheese) to another employee. Unfortunately, the recipient missed the handoff and dropped it on the ground. Absolutely no big deal, happens every day. What was a big deal was that he just picked it up and put it right back in the reach-in (little fridges underneath the back bar where they keep condiments and bottles of wine, etc.) As he walked by me, I said "that parm shaker fell on the floor, are you gonna wipe it off"? He looked at me, thought for a second, and said "well, I could", so I said " it fell on the floor and you put it right back in the reach-in. ARE you going to wipe it off?" "NO" he said, and walked away. I know this might sound trivial, but I just kept thinking about all the things that accumulate on the floor behind the bar that I would not want in my food, and how I would feel if I didn't say something and somebody got sick or, I don't know, just the thought of it grosses me out. So after we were done with our meal, I caught the bartenders attention and told him. He was nice enough about it and took the shaker out of the fridge and set it on the side of the back bar. I got the feeling he was humoring me, but it wasn't worth taking any further. Later I saw the person that had dropped it tell the bartender "sorry about that" and the bartender said "don't worry about it", and glance at me. I apologize for not getting names, I usually do so I can call people by their name. I really just wanted a quiet low key dinner with a friend, so wasn't being too gregarious with everyone else. What happened with the shaker was a minor deal, and easily fixable once pointed out. The annoying thing was how I was treated. When somebody points out a simple issue to you (a health code violation no less) and your responses to be rude to them instead of just fixing it, that's the problem. Anyways, take it as you will. Maybe bring a wet wipe when you get a parmesan shaker here. read more
