Thankfully we discovered this gem of a pizza place driving through Redding. Hands down best pizza we've had. 10/10. The restaurant literally focuses on the pizza craft. No extras. They have a soda fridge and only sell Neopolitan style pizza. You can definitely taste the difference. The crust is thin, airy, and very digestible. My 7 year old niece who loves commercial pizza really really loved it and asked if there was a Donatello's in the city we were at the next day because she wanted them for dinner the following day. Honestly, wasn't a big fan. Maybe this is how the pizza actually tastes in Italy. But here in the US. I say it lacks flavor. The dough was tasteless, the menu was too small and the price was way too high for the size of the pizza. Sorry that's just my opinion. Also, the staff wasn't very friendly. Tried this new pizza place on a friend's recommendation and was very glad I did. Great pizza. There isn't another place like this in Redding. We tried three pizzas, sausage and basil, prosciutto and arugula, and pesto, they were all good. The sausage was our favorite, I really like the prosciutto and arugula but it won't appeal to all tastes if you're looking for an American style pizza-this isn't Hawaiian or pepperoni. I love the bitter contrast of the arugula with the meat and cheese. The pesto was also good. I'd highly recommend you try this place. The owners are very nice and service was excellent. Great pizza & fast service but kind of a weird vibe from the staff, not welcoming or friendly.

I've tried to go there twice and both times I've been turned back at the door because they weren't open or their pizza dough didn't rise, I will never darken their door ever again and then I realized that Cinders Pizza is the best pizza that this town has to offer so I opted to go there. I drove out of my way to come to Cinders because those guys at Donatelos can't get it together. Never again. read more

Since they've only been around for a year or two, I think they are working on establishing a reputation for GREAT PIZZA before expanding.... which is smart! First off the service was amazing. My friend and I got there at 7:30 and they closed at 8. They were very accommodating regardless of the amount of time that was left. I'm from Las Vegas and have had different varieties of pizzas, but let me tell you that this place is one of the best in my book. We had the salsiccia pizza and it was so tasty! The crust was light and fluffy and the tomato sauce is delicious. The workers even brought us marinara sauce to try with our pizza and the sauce alone was delicious. I could drink it! Hands down the best Neapolitan pizza in Redding. The crust was perfectly cooked with that ideal balance of crisp on the outside and soft, slightly doughy goodness on the inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming they even let us create our own pizza and gave us the option to have the prosciutto cooked with it or added afterward. We chose to have it topped after, and it was fantastic. Location was great, just down the street from the park we set up our Fifthwheel at.
