I grew up in the Redding area and we always ordered from Shasta Pizza Company when it was Pizza Night. I recently moved back to the area and called to order some sandwiches for dinner around 8:30. All notices online say that the victor location is open until 10. I was informed it was almost 9 and they were closing and that the delivery driver was on their last delivery. Naturally I was bummed. I've been a fan of this establishment for over 3 decades. Don't want to give a 1 star rating for something that can be easily fixed. You guys should really update your schedules online and on your menus so customers know when you are and aren't open. read more

I've been ordering from Shasta Pizza Company for years and they have always made great pizza at great prices with great customer service. Tonight they went above and beyond. I forgot they don't carry Dr. Pepper and was reminded when I requested it that they don't carry Dr Pepper so I decided to opt out of ordering any other soda because I already had Pepsi at home. Not only did they show up quicker than the delivery time given but the drive also had a 6 pack of Dr. Pepper. I was blown away by the amazing customer service they provided. It really depends on who is working wether or not your food is good. Last night pizza tasted funny and realized salami on combo was rotten. It was discolored and smelled rancid. Called to let them know but sounded like it was no big deal to them. I'm sorry but your employees should notice if meat is an off color and not put it on pizza. Pizza is usually good. We never order pizza home delivery, well the last time was probably over 15 years ago. We called Shasta Pizza to see if they were still in business, they were, we ordered two pizzas. They showed up under 30 minutes, piping hot...so we tipped:) I had a chicken and bacon pie with a white sauce that they had recommended. This pizza was sinfully delicious, l couldn't stop eating it. My wife is a vegetarian, no animal product what so ever, that includes most cheeses at pizza parlors. A few question and she ordered the veggie pizzas with no cheese...loved it. The sauce on that one brought it all together. Their crust is wonderful, chewy, almost sourdough like. I don't know how long this little place has been in business but I certainly know why. ANYWAY, the big problem with these guys are... their service SUCKS. Rude kids that run the place and an owner that doesn't give a sh*t about your screwed up order. Used to be among the best in town, had shops across the city. Now their last shop put the final nail in it for me. Like most all of us I have been eating Shasta Pizza Company since they started. Would contend that they have some of the best in Redding. Pizza Guys was the pizza when they were around but at the same time SPC had awesome other dishes. Their meatball sandwich is the first I ever had. Since then they have been the standard. Crispy toasted bread, sauce dripping from all corners, mozzarella strung out for days with each bite. And the star of the show are the spicy meatballs so juicy and tasty. I ordered this for YEARS. Love it. Standard bearer. Turned friends onto it. We all swore by it. It was the best meatball sandwich in town. In town! Some of us have lived on the east coast. I moved to Sac and have been gone. Came to town for a job and for dinner I decided to catch up with an old friend. Couldn't wait. What I got was garbage. If I had to figure out what happened I'd say that this sandwich was made earlier, was canceled, thrown in the fridge then microwaved when I ordered it. That doesn't explain, though, the mere maybe tablespoon worth of mozzarella. The sauce was nothing near a sauce. It was a paste. The meet was okay, kinda dry. But the bread was so rubbery it was like eating jerky. The reason my review is so long is because I have been eating these for years, from this same SPC on Victor and abroad and I have always appreciated them as a down home mom and pop good food. I'd like to force whoever made this to eat this sandwich. Ill bet they wouldnt want to. This is a careless piece of trash.
