After Cubesmart took over, I suddenly started getting invoices for the month I'd already paid to Extra Space plus two months into the future at double the rate. Never once did I receive any information about the change in ownership or increased rent. Now of course the new company acts like there's nothing they can do. So Extra Space Storage and Cubesmart both get a one-star review.

One night she walked past us while we were minding our business honestly forcing a conversation with me & my husband that we honestly didn't want to engage in. Then we would always find her coming in and out at the times that we would come to our storage almost as if she would be watching and stalking us. She's just very weird... everyone doesn't want to be your friend. Do your job and stay out of the way. This is a storage facility not a strip mall. She has followed my husband around on several occasions. We even attempted to enter the facility on a different end of the building just to avoid her and her living space and when we came out she was using the same exit that was completely on the OPPOSITE end of where she lives which this was after business hours. She also would let her untrained dog(s) PATRICK run around UNLEASHED! LIKE what is it with the weird psycho stalker behavior. I bet no else felt this way but us she definitely treated us this way because we are a young black couple. Lady learn how to mind your business & get a life outside of work. But most impressive is the customer service by Dee and the other women in the office. They took care of everything I needed to get set up with a unit and lock so I was able to move some things in right away. Next day my trailer tire blew out setting us back several hours moving out. And it was pouring rain. Was a bit of a crisis because new owner's had their moving trucks at the house ready to unload and we weren't close to being out yet. The gals at Locktite set me up with a lightweight enclosed trailer free of charge. It truly saved the day.

When the staff went through the building on their regular checks, a lock was on the unit so a sticker signifying all was good was placed on the lock. All was far from good. I spoke with one of the assistants the day of and explained the situation to her. She was polite and said she'd tell her manager. A few days later, I spoke with the manager and asked her to review video footage. She said she would and would be in touch within a couple of day. It has been two weeks, and I'm still waiting for that call. When speaking with the manager, I asked about the keypads that used to be on the buildings so access was limited. She told me that she believed they were there in the past but didn't know what happened to them because she'd only been there a couple of months. We were also told that nothing like this had been reported anywhere else. It is hard to believe out of the many, many units there ours was the only one that was hit. I highly recommend that if you'd like to keep your belongings, find a place with better security and sense of accountability.

I had seen Oak Hill Minis for years but never stopped by because it looked old. I wish I had checked it out earlier. The units are clean and safe, and the customer service is excellent and friendly.
